Very close to Hobbiton Movie Set Very spacious with a decent size kitchen Great value for money

The house is very modern, comfy and cozy. It feels like home away from home. Also very clean, and it had everything we needed for our stay. Our kids especially loved playing with the friendly cat 😺

Location was great. Very clean and tidy.

Kettle wasn’t working. TV had no channels. Coffee and some other stuff in Kitchen had fungus on it and were expired.

A lovely home in a rural setting close to Hobbiton. Hosts promptly sorted the TV which wasn't operating correctly.

Die Lage ist toll, nah am Hobbiton Movie Set. Das Haus und die Ausstattung sind ebenfalls toll. Großer Garten, mit Veranda und tollen Aussichten.

Die Sauberkeit entsprach absolut nicht unseren Ansprüchen! Insbesondere in der Küche machte es nicht den Eindruck als hätte dort jemand gereinigt.

L'emplacement est pas mal pour visiter Rotorua, Tauranga, Hamilton et faire le Hobbiton.

La propreté est à revoir et pour le prix, notre hébergement d'Auckland était bien mieux sur tous les points, en plus d'être moins cher également. Nous avons signalé que les toilettes étaient sales à notre arrivée (diarhée sous la lunette et les bords de la cuvette), personne n'a proposé venir nettoyer alors que les propriétaires sont à 7m de la maison, dans la maison à côté, sur le même terrain.

Great location for our Hobbiton tour. My short drive. Beautiful clean space. Nice setting in the country.

The property was perfect, our only issue was the fold out couch as a bed wasn’t very comfortable, we discussed this with the host aswell, otherwise everything was perfect and we will book again 😊

Die Lage nahe Matamata und nur 10min vom Hobbiton Set war für uns optimal. Neuwertige Ausstattung, mit Waschmaschine und sogar Badewanne. Die Kinder haben sich auf das Spielzeug gestürzt. Bequemes Bett, schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf Kühe und Schafe. Alles sehr ruhig - abgesehen vom Vogelgezwitscher. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

There was a washing machine but no washing powder. After a lot of motel nights it would have been nice to do a load.

The cottage sits in an amazing area, and the views are stunning. We did get a picture perfect sunset on our first night. The space is thoughtfully furnished with all the necessities for making meals, doing laundry, etc. we were very comfortable and did not feel like anything was missing. And, of course, as promised, it is located just a few minutes away by car from the Hobbiton movie set. At the same time, it’s pretty convenient to central area of Matamata for groceries.

The location is fabulous for visiting Hobbiton and also nice to be in the country side. The outlook over the lake is lovely!

We found the place is probably due for a bit of love (especially for the price). The bed sunk in the middle, towels were musty and the kitchen and bathroom could both use a big scrub. We also had a bit of an issue with the washing machine but it was handy to have access to one.

Breakfast was amazing, everything was provided which was great. Only problem was getting the oven going. Overall i would book again. I have already had conversations about the property with friends.

There were many many flies. There was spray to kill them but then we had to clean all the kitchen surfaces and crockery. Such a shame as it spolied the property

The most amazing gem of an accommodation 💎 The place was spotless and spacious. Bed very comfortable and kitchen large and well equipped. The patio was just the best and it was so lovely to have a drink and relax at the end of the day with the beautiful sunset and birds chirping. Bonus for us was we also got to meet the gorgeous Charlie the dog. Thank you so much, Cherie!

This little gem had everything you could ever want for an overnight stay, but would equally be just as comfortable to cater for longer stays. The hosts communicated well, and also left us to enjoy our privacy.

Not much! But to make it even better, here are some suggestions. Maybe there is a musty smell that can be fixed with a little aroma. A bit more thorough cleaning by the shower door. And the wasps nest by the mailbox where you collect/retuen the gate key can be a nuisance.

Excellent location for Hobbiton. Very spacious accommodation. Good TV. Good facilities. Comfortable bed. Great bath. Good grounds with sheep and pond. Very quiet.

Difficult to get into property. A sign needed outside property near road so that as you drive up to it it is obvious you have arrived. House number is not enough as it is on gate set back. Keybox is in amongst foliage. It was very hard work. Not a good start to the stay.

Great accommodation, clean, new-looking, free Netflix, complete unit overlooking countryside, very quiet and, best of all, close to Hobbiton which was the reason for our visit. Would have liked to have stayed longer as it was very relaxing. All it lacked was a pool as it would then have been perfect, but of course more expensive! Host available if needed, but we just wanted to relax after travelling so didn't meet them, but all cool. Stay here, it's lovely!

The accommodation was perfect for our needs and is very convenient for Hobbiton taking just 8 minutes to drive to the Shires Rest where the movie set tours depart. The holiday home was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful lookout over the farm and a nice visit from Jack the cat. It’s located close to Matamata and Hobbiton.

It has everything like home. We definitely stayed there if we had more days. All was new and clean. Loved everything. Cozy two electric blankets, comfortable sofa and huge streaming TV, and large kitchen, bath and bathroom. My brother told me this is the best place for last 9days.

Amazing views, very calm and peaceful, there were sheeps, ducks and cows in view, which our toddler loved seeing! The place was very clean and well equipped, the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. We would love to come back!

You're quite lucky if you can snag this place. It is new, upscale and attractive. The view of the Shire from the deck and windows is something that cannot be imitated, and the busy little duck pond was mesmerizing. Very nicely slept 4 - the sofa bed is much more comfortable than usual. Really regretful that we could not have stayed longer here.
