Die Unterkunft war super, genau das was wir gesucht haben. Eine Oase der Ruhe im sonst so quirligen General Luna. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Hilfsbereitschaft von Joseph und Elvira.

A wonderful place to stay! The house is beautifully decorated, with an amazing garden that makes the whole place feel peaceful and special. It’s located in a quiet part of General Luna, away from the tourist noise, yet all the restaurants and other spots are easily accessible by scooter. Elvira and Josephe are incredibly kind and welcoming hosts who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We genuinely loved everything about the place. Siargao is such a special island, and we would absolutely love to come back one day soon. Highly recommended!

Everything was as described, I really enjoyed my stay and Joe (owner) himself greeted us and help us with local restaurants/sufring/renting bikes/sim cards/etc. He was really friendly and open to help with any question you might need druing your stay. Would definitely stay once again.

There was a temporary construction in the neighbours land, so it was a little bit noisy during the daytime, but it is temporary and was not heard from the room - only if you stay by the pool.

We had a lovely stay during our honeymoon at Mataray, the property is beautiful and Joseph and Elvira are amazing hosts. We hope to come back soon!

I spent three nights at Mantaray in General Luna, followed by three nights at Trogon's Perch in San Isidro (the northern part of Siargao). Although Mantaray is already one of the highest-rated places to stay in General Luna on Booking.com, my experience exceeded all expectations. I'd like to highlight several things that aren't fully reflected in the listing but made my stay truly exceptional: Outstanding hospitality from Joe and Elvira. They made everything effortless from start to finish: We communicated via WhatsApp before my arrival. Joe personally picked me up from the airport. Scooter rental was arranged directly on-site, so there was nothing to worry about. They organized my surfing lessons and arranged pickup from the property or another convenient location. Joe works only with excellent instructors. They arranged an on-site massage with a professional massage therapist. They provided a carefully curated list of restaurants, bars, and cafés. Trust their recommendations—you won't be disappointed! They even organized my transfer to Trogon's Perch after my stay. Excellent location. Everything is within easy reach. There's a great cocktail bar just a 30-second walk away, and everything else in General Luna is only a short tricycle ride away. Personal support throughout the stay. Whatever you need, just send Joe or Elvira a message. They are always happy to help and can organize almost anything. I genuinely believe this is one of the very best places to stay in General Luna. I will definitely be back. One final message to Joe and Elvira: please increase your prices! You're offering far more than you charge, and if you keep these rates, it will soon become impossible to book a room here!

The only small downside is that there is no laundry service on-site. However, there are laundry services nearby, so it's a minor inconvenience rather than a real issue.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt bei Joseph und Elvira ☺️. Sie waren super nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber! Die Unterkunft und Zimmer sind sehr schön ausgestattet, sauber, ein super bequemes Doppelbett und die Lage ist super 👍 Wir konnten auch sehr unkompliziert einen Roller leihen. Es war perfekt. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😎

Elvira et Joseph sont d’une gentillesse incroyable : toujours disponibles, attentionnés et de très bons conseils pour les excursions, les cours de surf et l’organisation du séjour. Ils ont constamment veillé à ce que tout se passe bien. Le logement est impeccable, très confortable et parfaitement entretenu. Nous étions en lune de miel et avons eu droit à des petites attentions adorables qui nous ont beaucoup touchées. Mention spéciale également pour leur flexibilité le jour du départ, où ils nous ont permis de rester un peu plus longtemps. Tot in de puntjes op en top verzorgd. Denk aan vriendelijke eigenaren, geur van beddengoed/handdoeken/zeep. Iedere avond stond er een heerlijke wierook te branden in de badkamer. Perfecte ligging net buiten het hele drukke centrum.

The room was amazing: spacious, stylish decor, very good bed, quality bathroom. The owners are also super friendly and extremely helpful. The view and the garden are also a pleasure to look at and enjoy. Really nothing to complain about.

Der vibe hat gestimmt, es war einfach gemütlich. Das Zimmer war schön und sauber, die Terrasse lud zum verweilen ein. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und standen immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Man kann vor Ort verschiedene Roller mieten um die Insel zu erkunden. Es gibt diverse, auch sehr gute, Restaurants, die fußläufig zu erreichen sind.

The location was excellent, right on the beach and close to all the restaurants, cafes and bars in General Luna. A 10 minute bike ride to cloud 9. Joe and Vera were such great hosts and went above and beyond in making our stay as comfortable as ever. They were responsive to all our requests and were so very friendly and kind. The villa was so beautiful, spacious and comfortable with a tropical beachfront vibe. The pool was great to be able to relax in and have a swim after a full day of the many activities in Siargao. We most highly recommend anyone to stay in Joe and Vera's villa's if you are considering a holiday in Siargao. We would not consider staying anywhere else but Joe and Vera's Mantaray villas when we come back to Siargao.

The hosts were very helpful in scheduling transportation to/from the airport, rental vehicles, surfing instructors, and dinner reservations. The hosts were very knowledgeable in recommendations for things to do or places to eat. The room was very clean, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. Most of all, the location to General Luna was perfect for us. Would definitely stay again in the near future!

A beautiful place to stay in Siargao, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The beachfront room next to the pool is very big and amazing, with direct beach access and stunning views — ideal for a peaceful and private stay. The property only offers accommodation and does not have food on site, but this was not an issue at all. Joseph recommended very good restaurants. We were also able to rent a motorbike with them, which made it easy and fun to explore the island. A quiet, stylish, and well‑located place for anyone looking for freedom, comfort, romantic experience and a special beachfront experience in Siargao.

Joseph and Elvira were wonderful host from day 1 of our 3 nights/4 days stay at their paradise- like place. They made our short get-away stress free by helping us arrange daily excursion to see different sides of Siargao. Our last night was rainy but had a cozy room massage which was so relaxing that it makes you long for more days to stay.

We had an absolutely amazing 4-night stay at this beautiful boutique room in Siargao. From the moment we arrived, the lovely couple who owns and runs the place made us feel like part of their family. They were incredibly helpful—introducing us to Siargao, assisting with all our trip planning, and always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. The room itself is pure paradise. The garden opens up to a stunning seafront view, creating the feeling of living in a dream house in a dream setting. Every detail is thoughtfully designed—the décor, the atmosphere, everything is simply perfect. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay and would 100% come back. Highly recommended!

Th room was clean, comfortable, and had great amenities, the pool was nice and had a beautiful view, and the house is reasonably close to the central area of General Luna (short tuk tuk ride away). Such an amazing place to stay. The architecture of the building is incredible and the outside shower is a highlight. Really easy to get into town via tuktuk. The hosts of the property could not have been friendlier and helped up with any needs we had including booking places to eat. The list of recommended restaurants was also really helpful.

Set in an absolutely stunning location, surrounded by beautiful gardens with views over the beach, this place was truly special. The hosts were exceptional and had thought of every possible detail — from the incredible scent throughout the space to the super-comfortable bed and the beautifully styled room and bathroom. We were provided with everything we could possibly need, which added such a thoughtful, personal touch: coffee, mangoes, bananas, bottled water, rain jackets — you name it. Elvira even put together a list of her favourite restaurants, complete with her recommended menu items, which was just brilliant and so rare to come across. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more — we only wish we’d discovered it earlier and stayed longer, and were even greeted with refreshing watermelon juices on arrival. Couldn’t get a better location ! near the hustle and bustle but also very private and in a quiet complex.

Wir konnten vor Ort den Roller mieten und erhielten super Tips für Ausflüge. Die Empfehlungen für die Abendessen war sehr gut. Wir haben diese Unterkunft ein Jahr zum voraus gebucht und unsere Erwartungen wurden weit übertroffen.

Loved everything! The pictures don’t do justice. There is so much love and care put into this house and the rooms, and the hospitality was truly amazing. My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time in Siargao and Joseph&Elvira definitely contributed to it. They organised surfing lessons, helped with dinner reservations, and we rented a great and comfortable scooter. We will come back!

The rooms are designed and decorated for your comfort, the lady of the house has thought of every detail. It's so elegant and comfortable. The owners are super helpful and friendly. You immediately feel safe and belong. They suggest the best places to eat at, and visit. Wonderful customer service but it also doesn't feel like a customer service, it feels you are friends from long.

Gorgeous house in a green lush oasis, directly by the water, very quiet, lots of outdoor space with a cute terrace that keeps you dry even on a rainy day, kept clean and sparkling by the fabulous owners and their staff. Motorbikes are provided which saves you the hassle of having to find a vendor and the paperwork. Restaurants are just a short walk or ride away.

The location is ideal, very close to General Luna, and you can rent a scooter on-site at a very fair price to explore the area. Los dueños son una adorable familia que nos acogieron como parte de la familia desde el primer momento. Las habitaciones son preciosas y están perfectamente limpias, además de ofrecer un servicio de limpieza diario. Cuidan al detalle la decoración de las habitaciones y todo funcionaba correctamente. Las vistas son impresionantes, ya que desde la piscina se puede observar Guyam Island y Daku Island. Joseph y Elvira nos ayudaron en todo, ya que además de proporcionarnos una lista de recomendaciones de restaurantes, tours y demás, nos aconsejaron en todo momento sobre cómo aprovechar la isla al máximo durante nuestra estancia (donde poder aprender a surfear, rutas…). Cabe mencionar que pudimos celebrar una pedida de mano inolvidable, ya que mi pareja se lo comentó a Joseph y Elvira para poder aprovechar las impresionantes vistas de la Villa para ese momento tan especial. Joseph se comprometió a construir un arco nupcial precioso y decorado por él mismo, lo que resultó en un precioso gesto y detalle por su parte. Por otro lado, Elvira ayudó en buscar una fotógrafa profesional que pudiera captar el momento especial de la pedida. No tenemos ninguna queja sobre nuestra estancia, ya que después de haber estado en Filipinas anteriormente, este ha sido sin duda el mejor alojamiento que hemos tenido junto con la mejor compañía que es una familia encantadora. Esperemos poder volver a Siargao algún día y que, sin duda alguna, nuestra estancia vuelva a ser Mantaray Siargao!! Nunca olvidaremos esta preciosa experiencia que ha sido gracias a Joseph, Elvira y Lala.

Es war so friedlich und sauber im Mantaray. Die Restaurant Auswahl der Besitzer war super! Allgemein waren Elvira und Joseph einfach die besten Gastgeber, die wir je hatten. Als wir kein Bargeld abheben konnten (auf der Insel sind die Bankautomaten am Wochenende manchmal leer), haben sie uns genügend Geld ausgeliehen. Zum Abschied haben wir noch die süsseste Zeichnunh erhalten von ihrer Tochter, die unseren ganzen Aufenthalt nochmals gekrönt hat. Vielen Dank für eure Gastfreundschaft ☺️

En nuestro caso lo han conseguido y esperamos volver a una isla que nos ha enamorado y quedarnos de nuevo en Mantaray. La casa es de ensueño con grandes ventanales y vistas al mar. Por decir algo, que esta un poco alejada de la zona centro, pero llegas sin problema al disponer de motos o tuc tuc siempre cerca.

Pour préparer notre arrivée, les communications avec Joseph ont été très efficaces et rapides. J'avais besoin de préparer une surprise à l'arrivée dans la chambre pour l'anniversaire de mon fils de 17 ans. Quand nous sommes arrivés, nous avons été accueilli merveilleusement bien par Joseph et Elvira, et tout avait été préparé comme prévu. Ensuite, il faut souligner l'espace, la qualité, la propreté, et surtout le grand goût avec lequel ont été décorées les deux villas où nous avons logé. Il y a un grand jardin avec une piscine et une vue à 180° sur la mer en face. D'ailleurs, si vous faîtes un tour organisé des iles environnantes, le bateau pourra vous prendre directement sur la plage donnant chez Joseph et Elvira. Elvira nous a donné de précieuses indications sur la logistique à Gal Luna, notamment le "juste" prix pour les tuk tuk (libre à vous de laisser un tip en +). C'était la fin de notre voyage, et c'était le lieux parfait pour repartir avec un sentiment de plaisir et de quiétude. Merci à tous les 2.

L'accueil de Joseph et Elvira, leur sympathie, leurs conseils et leurs accompagnements pour visiter les îles avoisinantes. Leurs services : le scooter demandé était à disposition à notre arrivée, ils nous ont prêté leur matériel de snorkeling au début du séjour car nos bagages ne nous avaient pas suivis ! Mais aussi : le jardin magnifique donnant sur la mer et la maison exceptionnelle, en forma de raie Manta (d'où le nom de Mantaray).

On a tout apprécié, mais un service de petit déjeuner pourrait être un plus.

This property was phenomenal, great location close enough to General Luna, but still distant enough for peace and quiet. The property had excellent Wi-Fi for my workation and the owners (Elvira and Joseph) were some of the warmest, kindest people I’ve ever met. They went above and beyond with thoughtful recommendations, even arranging an in-house massage, and I truly felt like I was staying with family. I can’t recommend this place enough and will absolutely be returning. Thank you Elvira and Joseph for a stay in Siargao that exceeded my expectations.

Joseph and Elvira are the loveliest hosts ever. Everything we needed they had and the space was impeccable. The room was so clean and aesthetic and we felt right at home. We were also able to rent a scooter right on site for 450 pesos! Super convenient and perfect. You have to stay here

Very spacious room, not a hotel but more private room in a stunning villa.

There is no breakfast served, but there are plenty options in town.

Everything exceeded our expectations, the house is stunning and so beautifully designed. Elvira and Jo the hosts were so lovely and went well above and beyond to make our stay special. The place is even more amazing than the pictures, the location is perfect and we couldn't rate the whole experience more highly. If you can get a booking you should 100% stay at Mantaray

We loved every minute at the Mantaray in Siargao. Beautiful house, lush garden with lots of trees and flowers, quiet because its away from the main road, staff was super friendly and did the work around the house quietly to perfection. Elvira is a lovley host, always ready to help and to chat if you want to but not too pushy. Rooms are spacious, with a fridge and a wardrob, amazing bathroom and free coffee you can make yourself in the french press(was my life saver). Amazing stay, would never go anywhere else in Siargao.

The only thing to improve in my opinion would be breakfast option. Doesnt need to be big varaity but would be great in case you want to spend the day at the house without leaving.

A 5* stay! Elvira and Joseph are absolutely fabulous hosts. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the little touches of fresh coconuts, mango, candle burning on arrival really made our stay feel special. Their recommendations for local restaurants are all great, and this was some of the best food we had during our whole stay in the Philippines. We’re also incredibly grateful that Joseph spent his afternoon helping us get to various medical centres after my partner had a surfing accident, both he and Elvira were so generous and hospitable. The surfing itself was great fun and again a great recommendation as they helped us book the lesson. The rooms itself are beautiful, and with only 3 rooms at the property you often feel like you have the pool and beach front to yourself. Don’t be put off by needing to get a tuk tuk to the centre of town (although you can also walk we did this a couple of times) - this is so cheap and they’re so frequent it isn’t an inconvenience; if anything you have the benefit of being more secluded from the noise and nightlife.

Would be great to have had a closer breakfast option but really not an issue.

Amazing location. Very welcoming and accommodating owners. They really go above and beyond to ensure you have an awesome stay. They booked a private island tour for us which was an amazing experience. We will certainly be returning.
