Nothing, highly recommend if needed to stay in Birr
Great location for attending a wedding in Birr. Self check in was very easy.
Main lightbulb in room blown.
Excellent location!
No issues
Caroline was great and went the extra mile! Definitely recommend
Good location in middle of town, room was nice and clean
No staff , bathroom was out in hallway, shower was in bath so was struggle for me .
Water bottles exposed to sunlight
Clean near city centr
Everything was all good
Spotless accommodation, wonderful host, perfect location. Thanks Caroline!
Not having a bathroom in the room, but the shared bathroom was very clean
Überdurchschnittliche Gastfreundschaft!
Tommy is a very nice and accommodating man !
Everything was perfect
Host was very accommodating and helpful, facilities were clean, great location in Birr.
Location good stayed after a wedding. Easy instructions to follow for self service entry. Clean towels.
Should be noted on website that this property has a shared bathroom, no ensuite. Feels a little vunerable as i was staying alone. Bathroom is down a stairs from room. Blue bathroom was just not up to standard. Skipped the shower bathtub old and not clean. There is a sink in the bedroom but water pressure from taps so low. Bedroom clean but bedsheets smelled of stale men's cologne. Electric heater is preset. No tv, no hairdryer, no breakfast. Should be half the price instead of €145.
Good value in a central location. Shared bathroom but only one other party used it so no issues
HAPPY
Location
Awful to be honest. The state of the bathroom was terrible. Pubic hairs all over the bath tub. Awful experience
Perfect location
N/A
The blind did not block out enough of the street lights, I think a curtain would have been better. Also, the doors to the rooms, made a lot of noise when being closed.
Location
Accommodation was very basic. No ensuite, shared bathroom were not great and sink had stains blue bathroom had loads of soap scum stains, no TV in the room, no only one fairly flat pillow making sleep uncomfortable. Stains on the carpet at the entrance to the building steps at the front door were filthy. Would not recommend this place
Easy check in
Shared bathroom
Shower didn’t work
Excellent contact from the host. Lockbox to collect keys was easy. We stayed while attending a nearby wedding and it was an easy walk to the venue.
Location was perfect and theres a really easy self check in system. Room was spotless bed was comfy and security very good. Great value for money
Nothing
Great place to stay, cant complain about anything. Would recommend and would stay again 100%
Nothing
The location was perfect , right in the centre , although it was a shared bathroom it was only shared by 2 rooms
Had to go up 3 flights of stairs
Convenient location
Mattress not very comfortable and no en-suite
location and bed was comfy
Toilet did not flush
It was lovely staying at Keeles for the night. Before arriving I confirmed my arrival time, and the room was ready, communication for access, etc. across text messages was easy, and clear, and staff appeared very friendly. I was informed of free parking close by, and in the end I got outside the door on the street. so it was free and easy anyway. It was perfect for being placed in the middle of Birr, for what I needed. Its Private and hidden treasure in the town, with access to pubs, resturants, cafes, bus services, local shops and any business in town. My friends I was visiting with in town didn't know it was there, and were amazed of how I found it. Now they know, and will recommend it for other future occasions they may have. And I know I will make a return visit again, I've given a great review verbaly to them all. They seemed happily impressed, It was quiet, quaint and comfortable, I had a room on an upper floor and it was overlooking the back alley, and street behind it was quiet. There was a sink in room with towels provided, plenty of space to store my few belonging, with hangers and drawers. Coffee facilities in the room was plenty, and had a latte which was tasty. It was just enough, with a nice gift voucher for a local cafe was a lovely touch as they don't do a breakfast service, which I don't mind, as I don't always have breakfast. I used it for 11's and enjoyed it before my drive home. I got a lovely peaceful break away, with celebrations had for a birthday lady, nice trip round the pub scene, and a great sleep. An all round win! I would call it an online Air B&B, with little leprechauns helping with the magic touch. Go raibh míle maith agat.
I only had the issue of the bathroom outside the room, felt a little vulnerable, but it was really fine, just something unique to Keeles,
The location was excellent for local amenities and facilities.
Car parking wasn't great.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
No en-suite! Bathroom was shared by at least three people. No TV, no hair dryer, no plug near a mirror, no view, tea bags but not even one sachet of instant coffee. The website told of a buffet breakfast but after booking I was told there was no breakfast. Very disappointed.
Musty smell , no breakfast , bed sheet stained . Very noisy that night as crowds gathered outside the property from 12:30 to 01:30 am
It was nice and i wish to revisit soon.
Location was great, however the room we stayed in was very outdated and the carpet wasn't very clean. We paid €130 so we had some basic expectations that the guesthouse didn't meet. I don't think it's made clear that there is a Shared Bathroom also. Will say the bed was very comfy and the sheets were immaculate
the price is high
everything was okay
Clean.
No hot Water. Room wasn't very warm
Accommodation was clean and comfortable and excellent location in centre of the town.
Noise from the night club until 2:30am, music
Clean , comfy bed, easily accessible, central location, very good check in instructions,
No ensuite, outside noise (across road from takeaway that opens late ) noisy radiator which made sleep difficult , very cold
It was a little cheaper than some of the other options around. The bedroom was very clean. Parking just outside the door. Clear communication and easy instructions to get access to the facilities.
It was a shared bathroom and the mats in the bathroom were dirty. The room we were in overlooked the street and it was quite noisy until late.
Location was excellent. Only a short walk from the bus stop and when you stepped out the front door you were in the Main Street, so easy access to supermarket, pubs, cafes and town attractions. Self serve breakfast was re-stocked regularly. Breakfast included cereals and yogurt, bread, cheeses and cold cuts and a selection of condiments, as well as tea and coffee. Small fridge available to store your own food if need be. Toaster, kettle and microwave oven provided. Access to the kitchen all day which was good. I stayed a week so it was good to be able to prepare my own meals. This place was more like an AirBnB than a traditional B&B as the host lived elsewhere but just a phone call away, and I did meet him a couple of times. Unlike hosted B&Bs there was an expectation to wash up and put away dishes after breakfast. At times I had the place to myself, other times there were other guests in the two other bedrooms sharing the amenities. There was one shared bathroom and also an extra shared toilet. There was a dining area off the kitchen with a couch. No TV.
Attention to cleaning could improve. Although I was given fresh towels and linen halfway during my week's stay, after a few days of seeing a variety of guests come and go and sharing the amenities, I requested the bathroom to be cleaned (as there was evidence it hadn't been for a couple of days) and hand towels and tea-towels to be replaced, soap dispenser to be refilled, but once mentioned it was attended to immediately. My bedroom was very clean and comfortable.
Thought for what you paid for there wasn't a great choice breakfast
Very little
For €130 I would expect an en suite. Having to go downstairs to the toilet was a nuisance. OK I did have a couple of drinks and I'm over 70 but to me that's basic in a guest house or hotel. Also finding the place was difficult even with Google Maps. I had to check with the fast food restaurant across the street to make sure the building was Keeles. If it hadn't been for a guest I met on the way in I don't know if I would have known how to access my room. And I saw nobody in charge at any stage during my stay. A good old fashioned telephone number would have helped!
This is a decent place for what you’re paying. Shared bathrooms were clean but the hot water was pretty low — this is definitely a budget stay.
Noise on the street during the weekend. This is a popular area for young people out drinking. Didn’t overly keep me up but something to note.
Very clean.
Bathroom needs modernising.
Very comfy beds and very clean. The crisps and the chocolate were a nice touch. Excellent location. Would stay again!
Water in shower was a little cold. Heating wasn’t working in bedroom downstairs
Shared bathroom grubby with used bottles of wash products and used bar of soap on basin. We had booked for 2 nights, but left next day. Kitchen not really stocked with a great choice of breakfast items. We got there late and tired after day’s travel, so had no choice but to stay. Place difficult to find, especially in the dark.
Room was lovely and airy with lovely little window seat! Nice to have basin in room and access to bathrooms nearby! Breakfast room clean and functional. Adequately stocked.
I think my room was to the front and needs extra glazing or soundproofing as noice from street on sat night very disturbing! it would be a good idea to request other guests coming in late to consider other guest who be sleeping
Generous breakfast, good washing machine and drier.
No complaints
The location was ideal. The room was spotlessly clean, facilities were very good.
Central location. Secure. Clean, well stocked kitchen for breakfast.
Diffucult to locate, no signage or house number. No toilet in or adjacent to room. Door didn't stay closed when unlocked. Lots of stairs, not good for reduced mobility. Gate across first level of stairs blocked acess to handrail. Entrance carpet was dirty, gave a bad first impression. No car space.
Centrally located, self service breakfast, nice sitting area for gathering or to enjoy take out; large bedroom - very helpful and accommodating host; we needed a place to reset ourselves during a long trip and this was the perfect place Lots of dining options nearby, coffee shops, post office, supermarket etc
Nothing
Great location.
The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable.
It was fine the purpose of staying there.
Convenient central location. A warm welcome from Sean and Tom. Large airy bedroom which was nicely decorated.
Difficult to find the property as it wasn’t signed and was above a restaurant, we had to ask on the High Street to find it. This wouldn’t have been ideal if arriving at night. I hadn’t read the small print properly and hadn’t realised that the bathroom was shared. It was down a flight of stairs and whilst clean, was extremely dated and really needs replacing. It was like something from the 1980s. The door closure on our bedroom and the lock on the toilet door didn’t work properly.
That there was no fuss & we could just go about our own business
Nothing
Poor security. Open door from street. No hot water. No wifi password displayed anywhere. No food in dining area in the morning. Noisy. Single glazed window to busy street.
Not Good Very Little Food For People Staying Their Other Guest Had Used Up Food Items Little Left For Us Example Little Milk Or Butter in Fridge
Central location.
Shared bathroom. Basic self-service continental breakfast No TV
Just ok for stop over
No Irish breakfast
Great location, good value for money and suits all your basic needs
Was centrally located to attend a family function
Cleanliness, space, location.
Wonderful hosts) Everything was at the highest level
It was an ideal location as we were attending a wedding in the County Arms which was just a 10 minute walk down the road. It was such a smooth check in process with all the information provided beforehand by Sean! The room was so cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Nothing :)
Location was good. Had problem finding premises as we were looking for "Keeles" sign. Asked a few locals who did'nt know.
As above
Very fair price. Lovely and clean rooms. Very well organised. Very well looked after by Sean
Bed was very comfortable.
Very local .
It has shared bathrooms. It does say that on the website but it's not very clear. You have to scroll down to see it. That I could get over but the bathrooms were not the cleanest and very dated. The toilet, bidet and bath were scruffy. I couldn't take a shower. The locks didn't work properly.. (In shared bathrooms) The door handle was falling off so you couldn't pull on it . My husband had to stand outside while I went to the loo. Once I pushed the door closed hard and it jammed. I had to get my husband to push it open from the outside . The bedroom is a decent size but basic . The room was a bit cold. The duvet and pillows were very flimsy. A spare blanket and pillow was badly needed . As for breakfast we skipped it due to the fact the bread was out of date and the fruit had green mould . We had great entertainment with two women beating the crap out of each other outside the window. The police and all came.
