L’appartamento era impeccabile dal punto di vista della pulizia e ci siamo trovati davvero molto bene. La cucina è ben attrezzata e si trova all’esterno, sul terrazzo posteriore: uno spazio molto intimo, carino e piacevole. Abbiamo apprezzato molto gli snack e soprattutto il fatto di trovare olio, zucchero e tutto l’essenziale per potersi preparare qualcosa da mangiare senza dover acquistare ogni singola cosa. Sono piccoli dettagli che fanno davvero la differenza. L’accoglienza è stata ai massimi livelli. La persona che ci ha dato tutte le indicazioni è stata sempre disponibile e si è continuamente preoccupata di sapere se avessimo bisogno di qualcosa. Ci siamo sentiti davvero ospiti graditi. Avevamo inizialmente prenotato questa struttura soprattutto come base per lasciare le valigie più pesanti, ma alla fine abbiamo deciso di lasciare il B&B Sepilok un giorno prima per venire a soggiornare qui e non ce ne siamo pentiti nemmeno per un secondo. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è andato oltre le nostre aspettative. Per quanto riguarda l’accoglienza e l’attenzione verso l’ospite, questa struttura avrebbe davvero qualcosa da insegnare al B&B Sepilok, che nella nostra esperienza ha soprattutto il vantaggio della posizione.

Una delle padelle non sembrava molto pulita, anche se per tutto il resto la pulizia dell’appartamento era impeccabile. I bagni sono piuttosto piccoli e le docce sono integrate nello stesso ambiente, anche se erano pulitissimi. L’acqua delle cassette dei WC impiegava un po’ di tempo a ricaricarsi, ma siamo riusciti comunque ad arrangiarci senza particolari problemi. Consiglierei inoltre di mettere a disposizione un asciugamano per il viso e uno per il corpo per ogni ospite e qualche rotolo di carta igienica in più. Nel complesso si tratta comunque di piccoli aspetti migliorabili, che non hanno cambiato il nostro giudizio molto positivo sulla struttura.

La casa era enorme, su ubicacion inmejorable a 5 minutos del aeropuerto y a 20 minutos de Sepulok y del Rainforest, las camas super comodas, y sobre todo la atencion de la dueña que fue increible con nosotros y que le agradecemos un monton. De nuestros mejores apartamento en Malasia.

Alles was aanwezig (wasmachine, droger, koelkast, allerlei keukengerei) en er is airco, erg fijn. De gastvrouw was super aardig en reageerde snel. Het was erg goed schoongemaakt.

Etwas abseits und nur wenige attraktive Restaurants in der Nähe

Het huis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, een keuken met waterfilter, een woonkamer en airco. Daarnaast ligt het heel dichtbij het vliegveld en kun je vanaf deze plek gemakkelijk met grab richting het centrum en ook RDC. De host is goed te bereiken via whatsapp, reageert snel en stuurt ook nog eens een leuke tip!

Er zijn veel muggen buiten, dus houd de deuren goed gesloten.

Tout était bien. Seul chose à regarder serait l'étanchéité des portes extérieures et la porte pour aller à la cuisine ne s'ouvre pas au complet. Mais j'y retournerais si j'ai à revenir dans le coin sans hésiter.

It was a good overnight stay before flying out the following day. We truly appreciated that they allowed us to check in early as we were arriving into town from a river tour. The host was kind to leave us snacks and the space was clean. They also had easy and clear directions for entering the home.

You have to walk a little ways to find restaurants.

The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We actually left another hotel early to come back here for the night before we flew out. Had everything you need to be comfortable and felt like being at home. Really thoughtful host.

A fully furnished and squeaky clean apartment that has some of the best amenities I have ever seen in a serviced apartment. Absolutely loved our stay here and wished it were longer. Close to the airport, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

La proprietaria, Signora Maini, è di una gentilezza disarmante. Siamo rimasti bloccati senza possibilità di avere un passaggio ad 1 ora di distanza dalla casa e, non appena le abbiamo spiegato la situazione, ci è venuta immediatamente a prenderci. Solo questo merita 11. Grazie mille Maini!

Needed a 1 night stay before flying out. Good price as you get the whole house, ok neighbourhood. Close to airport. There's some restaurants in a shopping mall strip in walkable distance.

Comms before my stay were so so. I couldn't get in for a while and they had turned all power off so whilst I had the wifi password I couldn't connect and the router was switched off!

This home is so comfortable. It has all the necessary facilities. The staff are kind and hospitable. We went for Chinese New Year and they surprised us with Chinese New Year decorations.

Spacious house with backyard for family to rilex. The backyard area was spacious with open type kitchen. Washing machine is there & pump to make sure bathing experience. To sandakan town takes around 15-20minutes. Overall we love the place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at VIRTA guest house. The guest house looks much better in person than the online photos provided. The description said " family room with balcony " quite confused us when in fact we have the whole house for ourselves. There is an open kitchen where we were able to prepare meal while doing our laundry. Aircond was functioning well. The beds were comfortable.

So spacious, well furnished, probably the most comfortable bed we’ve stayed in Malaysia over the last 6 weeks! Great aircon. Photos don’t do it justice. Staff very helpful, welcoming and kind, very responsive to messages about checking in and out. Lots of places to order food from and kitchen area to cook in if needed. Very close to airport and easy to get grab to.

The house was really clean and homey. Wifi and AC in all rooms worked well. Lots of finishing touches that made a huge difference and all amenities needed and more were provided. We didn't want to leave!

The proximity to the airport is fantastic, the place is absolutely gorgeous, totally spotlessly clean, the owner even left me a few little snacks which was really appreciated. The beds were extremely comfortable, and it was lovely to finally finally get to do my laundry!

Didn't expect to discover we would have a whole house, complete with all facilities to ourselves in a quiet suburban street. The house itself was spotless and convenient for visiting the nearby Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Centre.

Owing to phone signal problems I didn't receive the messages from the owner with how to access the property until after a neighbour had let us in. Aside from that, a perfect place to stay.

The staff answered me through what’s app and gave all the info for me to check into the house. They were very helpful with tips where to dine out, shop etc. internet was great and had Netflix apps on tv. House had 3 bedrooms and full kitchen with washer and separate dryer.

Need transportation to get around.

For us, the location was great - it’s right by the airport, and not too far from the rainforest discover center/orangutan rehab center. The house has everything: water and dryer, blender, countertop oven, filtered water, etc. Communication was friendly and helpful (our flight arrived at 12:30pm and we could check in early). We had a nice quiet morning coffee and chat in the garden/patio area out back, too.

Based on what we wanted, there was nothing we didn’t like.

Beautiful homely GH/house. 1 of the best places have stayed in the whole of Asia. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Host (Maini) very prompt in her response and also helpful for places to eat. Would recommend this home to anyone thinking of staying in Sandakan and area. Thanks

The guesthouse is located very close to this airport : so it is great if you have to take a flight early in the mroning. The house is really clean and there is a beautifull terasse in the back ! PERFECT !!!

Clean and spacious accommodation. We only spent one night, but it fit our needs. Fast wifi, AC, a full kitchen and plenty of privacy. The hosts were very easy to deal with and were pleasant.

Shower head holders were broken and can use some maintenance.

This place was awesome. It’s a full house to yourself, it’s huge, such good value for money! Set on a quiet residential road, it’s just 6 mins drive from the airport - perfect if you're arriving on the 1830 flight from KL and then work your way up to Sepilok the next day. There’s 2x double bedrooms + bathroom upstairs, and downstairs is a large open plan dining room-living room and a bathroom. Then the kitchen is kinda outside adjoined to a lovely, covered garden / patio area. What I usually dislike about places like this is that they’re sterile, furniture is sparse and there’s no soft furnishings. But it’s not like that here, it’s comfy and homely! I was met on arrival by a lovely lady who got me settled. Wi-Fi was really good, as was the AC, and there’s even some complimentary snacks, coffee and water for you. The back bedroom has absolutely the best bed in SE Asia – so comfortable. Really soft and luxurious! The shower was hot but weak, lots of toiletries available to use. Highly recommend!

The host was the kindest and most helpful. The beds are soooo comfy - the comfiest we've stayed in within SE Asia. The house is nice and large, very clean and comfortable. Literally 5 mins from the airport.

There aren't many places within walking distance, however Grab is so cheap that it doesn't matter.

VIRTA Guesthouse is great if you prefer the comfort of having your own place while visiting Sandakan. We enjoyed all the space we had and the cozy/functional outside area where we were able to cook some meals. Places like the Orangutan Sanctuary and Rainforest Discovery Center are about a 20 minute drive from the house. It is pretty easy & affordable to use Grab (Malaysia's Uber) to get back and forth, though having a car would be more comfortable. The host is also very responsive and friendly.

The neighborhood is nice (very local), but not particularly walkable. You can't really access any restaurants or supermarkets on foot.

We loved our stay here. We watched Netflix on the large TV, ordered pizza delivery, and relaxed. We also visited the Sepilok area and loved it. the beds are so comfortable and air conditioning in each room. We were so happy to do some laundry with a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with the things needed to cook. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, too!

We actually stayed here 2 separate times during our trip to Sandakan. We stayed for a couple nights before our overnight trip to Selingan “Turtle” Island and then stayed here again afterwards because we liked it so much and it was perfect for our needs!

It's so comfortable and so complete recommend & will be repeat again👏👍
