Chicken livers not properly prepared

Very friendly staff, hotel was clean. I didn't stay for long but would definitely come back to your hotel if I am in East London again.

Amazing location connected to the mall, restaurants, casino, etc.

The room key kept getting deactivated, had to reactivate it multiple times.

The passages are small.... Lots of directions before you reach the actual reception.... Security at the first boom gate looked confused..not knowing the directions to the reception.. Doors are white and not so clean.... No space in rooms at all.... Old furniture..... Bed makes noise when sleeping on it, chair is old nje🫢.... The cleaning ladies do not wipe the doors, Aircon buttons light switches... dust yhoo at the bathroom Ohhh and the staff is not so welcoming...the guys at the reception were not so welcoming when I was checking in...the one that was there when I came in did not even lift his head to see what I wanted....then the other one came and started shouting out my details for everyone in the lobby to hear...not so professional Booked for 2 but there is always one bottle of water 🤷🏻‍♀️

Definitely the location. Some of the people made the place magical.

The shower was leaking during our entire stay. We had to consistently use all the towels to dry up the bathroom and the team still didn’t pick up that there was an issue with the shower.

Except that, your light are not enough for the room, it's bit dark, please put more light,and the passage light was not working and the door blocker is broken...otherwise everything was OK.

It is nice that the hotel is within the Mall. Staff are friendly and helpfull..

The room had marks against the walls and cupboard doors. It needs some TLC. Aircon does not work as it should.

The garden is amazing. Would be great if they can open the restaurant so that’s guest have an option to seat and have breakfast outside by the pool and the garden.

The bed had no fitted sheet, only flat sheet. When we asked the housekeeper she said they standard rooms have not fitted sheets only suits get fitted sheets. We were surprised by that but they offered to put one on our second night.

The hotel quality linen was probably the only nice thing about the place.

The hotel was dated, grimy and our room had a foul odour. The breakfast, which we paid for, was gross and there wasn't enough for the number of people who were in the hotel at the time. Absolutely no service. You are WAY better off booking at a BnB or similar considering the price paid. I would never consider staying here again.

Location was good, ideal that you can access the mall directly from the hotel.

Rooms are a bit dated and in need of some upgrades

It was a short stay for a night. Room was a bit smaller for a family of four, but other than that the comfort was there.

Lifts have no ventilation or airway one morning i was using stairs from first floor to the firth floor because of the unpleasant fart🤢🤮 smell it had.

Breakfast was good. Met all the requirements. Setting was fair. Room was clean and neat. Staff was great and assisted where necessary. Near restaurants and shop.

Every time we stay at Hemingways , it is like visiting an old friend. The welcome is always warm and it’s lovely to see the same smiley faces 3 years on. The room we had was very spacious yet cosy - with great views. I love the proximity to the mall - reachable without exposure to the elements. This time we also used the gym. Compact but with everything you need. Thanks Hemingways for another lovely stay.

Most rooms are smoking and when I asked to change I got told that the small number of non- smoking rooms were taken

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good for a quick overnight stay just off the N2.

They were painting and doing maintenance down the passages and outside the rooms so it was a bit dirty and not very neat. Passageways smelt like smoke.

Staff is amazing Location is perfect, with the mall next to hotel makes things so convenient.

Food, breakfast was very basic, but the little there was on offer is good Dinner menus is limited

The hotel was certainly special because of its unique location, it would be a great injustice if I don’t mention about the exceptional customer service of the hotel staffs who treated us like their own family

In the room, between toilet & shower there is a drainage on the floor and it smell bad.

Our recent stay at Hemingways Hotel during the SA Regional Level 3 Swimming Champs was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless, comfortable, and welcoming exactly what we needed during such a busy and exciting time. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and well-equipped, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. After long days at the pool, it was such a pleasure to come back and relax in such a lovely environment. A huge bonus for us was the direct connection to Hemingways Mall. We were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t have to go anywhere we could simply walk straight from the hotel into the mall. It made meals, shopping, and everything in between so convenient and stress-free. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely exceptional,delicious, well-prepared, and with a great variety to choose from. It truly added to the overall experience. We truly had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting East London whether for events, competitions, or just a relaxing getaway. We’ll definitely be back!
