Modern facilities in a fantastic location
Food in the bar (fish & chips) was very poor quality. Dry food and small portions badly presented
It’s a beautiful property and place with nice big bedrooms and great facilities. Good breakfast too. The staff in the ground was lovely too.
Really bad communication from management. The place was closed for 2 weeks but we were only contacted the day of our arrival to notify us we could not stay the day we were arriving despite knowing the hotel reopening was the day after our arrival well in advance. We were called once while on the flight to Ireland (no message, email or booking.com text on the day before our arrival) to then receive only a message through booking.com at 11 am on the day of arrival leaving us to look for alternative accommodation in a very short period of time while on the train from Dublin to Athlone. Very poor form and management. They could have advice of the situation with more lead time to have back up plan in place just in case. We understand about the closure but notifying us the same day of arrival without trying to contact us by different channels is UNACCEPTABLE. Whoever was in charge of notifying guest did a very poor job.
Adored our stay here! The pool is such a standout! We used the gym, the bicycles to cycle around nearby and loved walking around the grounds and sitting on the swings! Just fabulous and the room was decorated fabulously and so comfortable too! Loved the decor in the bathroom, the double sinks, heated towel racks and gorgeous shower. Perfect getaway to relax and unwind, great tv with netflix too.
What a fabulous hotel, the beyond scenic backdrop to this amazing hotel, the design the beauty and the staff wow And dont get me started on the food got the steak the most perfectly cooked steak ive ever had gorgeous cant wait to come back
The only part I have to say was my hair dryer was broken in room but replace immediately. Staff amazing hotel amazing food amazing service outstanding. Highly recommend staying here worth every penny
The hot tubs
The food was poor for the price. Staff appeared to be uninterested in their job.
Hotel cancelled booking at last moment. No reason given. Very bad
Last minute cancellation by hotel
The location is excellent, the outdoor pool is cool and the property is sleek and modern
The restaurant. Got very poor service at both Dinner and Breakfast. At dinner we waited 40mins for main course and then after waiting 30mins for dessert we requested to cancel them, which prompted the waiter to then bring them out, I then had to reiterate that I wanted to cancel them. Then only one was removed from the bill, luckily I went through it in detail to check and when prompted the waiter removed the other dessert from the bill. At breakfast I got pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. I got no maple syrup and was left waiting 15 minutes before it arrived. Luckily this time the waitress offered to bring fresh pancakes.
Lovely location the views are beautiful
The pool was way too busy , couldn’t move in it . I tied to book the boat on the lake and the bikes but told me no availability.

Outdoor heated pool exceptional. Vegetarian meal option delicious, tofu dish. Also, the best blackforest gateau I ever tasted.

The property was stunning, very well decorated, breathtaking almost. Check in staff were lovely very welcoming and well organised. Room was fabulous.
Particularly did not like service in the restaurant and food was very over priced. No bar food available during our stay. The service in the restaurant was poor and disorganised. Breakfast was mediocre, no table service. Cocktails were extremely expensive and lacking in quality. No atmosphere, staff didn’t look after you like you would expect in a place like this. Very young inexperienced staff was like everyone was on their summer holiday job.
Beautiful property Nice design Nice location
Mattress in the family room was old and needs replacing. It had a dip in the hip area and we didn’t sleep well Lots of weddings going on which makes it really hard for non wedding guests to enjoy the property. We arrived on a Friday, has to leave on Saturday and came back on Sunday because Saturday was sold out due to a wedding. Lots of little kids unattended running up and down the hallways making noise at midnight. Just chaos
The staff were lovely
Very little facilities. No indoor pool sauna or jacuzzi Outdoor tubs way too expensive
Facilities were great , food was first class
Quite pricey, food & drink
The hotel itself is fabulous! The decor, scenery, pool etc all beautiful. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had - the white pudding 🤤 The staff went above and beyond to make it a special stay as we were celebrating a big birthday. There was a record player in our room which was a lovely surprise. We booked a hot tub which was fabulous, the man facilitating was so friendly and informative about the area. Overall we were so impressed. There is also a lovely playground and kids play room, it’s very family friendly. We’ll be back to stay with the kids next time!
The view from the breakfast room over the lake
Prices in the bar were eye watering. €23.50 for two glasses of wine!!!!!!
Excellent facilities, very comfortable decorative bedroom. Helpful staff, Caoimhe at reception, extremely professional and pleasant.
Service at breakfast time, extremely slow.
Amazing views, really enjoyed the hot tub was very relaxing, rooms were really nice and comfy we had a little balcony to enjoy the views!!!
We stayed one night it was excellent from start to finish. Food was fabulous 👌 Our room was beautiful so spacious. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

It was a lovely getaway. We loved the outdoor pool. The decor is fabulous. The rooms were lovely and comfortable
The staff in the restaurant wasn’t the best. Had to keep reminding them about menus, food etc
Hotubes and view
Lovely location.
Bed not comfortable - made noise every time you moved. Floors noisy. Gap under door so could hear everything passing in the hall. Kids and babies crying during the night. Dinner overpriced and very poor. Booked a 2 night stay and left after the first night.
Lakeside location and views were stunning, decor was lovely. These two things, along with the golf course (we didn’t play) and weddings I assume are holding this place up. Breakfast the next morning was a reasonable spread, well presented and cooked. Check out at 12 is great as gives you time to use the facilities and shower before heading home.
For the pricing point at €500 for one night I’d expect a much better experience. Within the room, there was no record player or Marshall speaker as advertised, there was no complimentary water or biscuits, the coffee machine in the room did not work, the robes looked and felt like they were ancient, the slippers were as thin as paper making the walk on stones out to the pool painfully difficult. The heated outdoor pool was a big attraction for this hotel and is quite underwhelming - should really be an infinity pool to take in the view as you can barely see the view once you’re in the water. It could be bigger, warmer, more furniture around it, maybe pergolas and covers with heaters for when you come out of the pool. The service in the outdoor bar area was non existent, had to go looking for someone to order a drink or a bite to eat. In Bonnie’s restaurant for our evening meal, again service was abysmal - ordering our drinks and food at the same time we had finished our starter and mains came out before we even received a drink. The price point for the restaurant was far too expensive coming away from 2 courses and a glass of wine for €120! I ordered the chicken dish for €30 which although somebody had clearly taken some time on the presentation, was the smallest chicken breast and one measly piece of broccoli, the wife ordered the tagliatelle at €26 and added chicken for €6 where she got more chicken for €6 than I did for my entire chicken dish! Toms bar we stopped for one drink and don’t have anything to say, reasonable pub vibe. On to the next morning and the service again at breakfast was below expected, coffee coming after we’d finished our food. If I were looking at booking our wedding here, I’d look elsewhere - unless the staff here prioritise wedding guests and the regular guests pay the price to which I can’t comment.
Air con in room.
Food not great. Pub dark and pokey. Seen dogs going into rooms. Building looks like a shed. Record player in room not working.
We absolutely loved Glasson. The outdoor heated pool was the key attraction for us. While the hot-tubs and walking trails were also fab. It's so relaxing and you can really disconnect from the world.
Service
Fantastic run hotel in a beatiful location.
Maybe a litte overpriced.
Great location…. Quirky setup which we liked. Outdoor pool was amazing.
The food was not good. We had dinner the night we arrived. Starters were small and not tasty. Both of us had steaks for mains and they were not particularly tasty and overpriced. The baby potatoes served with them were overcooked, burnt and inedible. We also found the cooked breakfast was not very tasty, scrambled eggs did not taste like eggs at all however the buffet elements were nice . We had been warned by friends that the food wasn’t great which was disappointing.
Really special place, fantastic facilities and lovely staff.
The setting is fantastic!
The hotel is run in very unprofessional manner, young untrained staff members not really knowing what they are doing in the hospitality business, The restaurant Bonny’s was a low standard of food especially on the breakfast which was one of the worst I’ve tasted in a very long time , this hotel is wanting to be a 4-5 hotel that is being run by inadequate Management ,
The hot tubs, outdoor pool, the views and the decor!
We were given a room facing the golf course. It was an anniversary celebration.
Everything, it was amazing. It’s the only hotel I return to.
The bar manager served me and my wife Irish coffees without any cream. Instead of providing an alternative drink, he just said we have no cream and walked off. It’s not really a finished product without cream. It was a little odd given the standard of the place in general.
Gorgeous location & fabulous views. Food was delicious. Steaks in Bonnies were so tasty. Outdoor heated poor & outdoor hot tub were amazing. Staff very friendly.
The €100 deposit on check in was unnecessary I felt especially when we had fully paid for our accommodation before arrival with full payment being taken ahead of schedule. I had requested a double & a single bed room & received confirmation that my request was granted but just one doubt in the room. Room was lovely and it was no big deal really. €50 to use outdoor hot tub. Tom’s bar menu had very limited choice.
Fabulous outdoor pool, walk and playground
Our shower was only lukewarm- for the price of the hotel and it's standard I feel it should have been better. Food options in the bar are only ok. Breakfast is good very tasty but small portions
I recently stayed at Glasson Lakehouse, and genuinely, almost everything about the experience was fabulous. The setting is stunning, the staff are warm and professional, and the whole place has that relaxed, respectful atmosphere that makes you feel looked after from the moment you arrive. The rooms, the food, the views — all absolutely top‑class.
There was one thing that really took away from the experience: the €100 security charge at check‑in. For a hotel of this standard, where everything feels so well‑run and respectful, the charge felt unnecessary and out of place. It’s not that the money is lost you get it back but it creates a tone that doesn’t match the rest of the stay. To be honest, it would put me off returning, and it would definitely put me off gifting someone a weekend away there. When you’re treating someone to a special stay, the last thing you want is them being hit with an unexpected €100 charge at the desk. It’s a fabulous hotel, but this policy really lets it down. If it were removed, I’d happily recommend Glasson Lakehouse to anyone
This hotel is just beautiful, it is so different and interesting. We were upgraded to a Lake View room which was spectacular, the added touch of a record play and records was a wonderful surprise. We will definitely be back again.
The pillows could have been better.
Everything
Lovely stay, staff where mazing, food great and made the room special with donuts and decoration for our celebration 🍾
Loved the outdoor pool
The food, staff in Bonnie’s, the breakfast
Everything it was so relaxing
We liked everything
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay. Stunning bedrooms & bathrooms. Excellent shower. Loved the heated rail in bathroom. Beautiful view of lake from bedroom. The interior at reception is very Canadian like etc cabin/chalet vibes. The receptionist was very kind and welcoming. We both thought she was fantastic. Pasta & cocktails were great. Breakfast was delicious, fantastic as we both were given a made to order breakfast, got to pick anything off the menu. Lovely staff at breakfast. We both loved the outdoor pool. We both can’t wait to return.

Decor and facilities were exceptional. Appreciated the selection of wines
Menu is limited and very niche. Definitely on the rich side in terms sauces and flavours. Would like a salad option for the mains. Customer service needs some attention. A more friendly approach would be well received.
The scenery and grounds are fabulous! We were blessed with the weather which meant we could take advantage of the outdoor pool and rowboats etc. it’s a great place to enjoy with the family or as a couple although the service and food let the experience down. That said some of the staff were great help with heating baby food etc but overall service left a lot to be desired
The food is shocking. The menus were extremely limited across the board and the overall flavour lacked significantly. To say a ham and cheese toastie was the nicest thing I ate across our stay speaks volumes, and with that said there was nothing special about it. The venue is understaffed, it’s near impossible to get through to reception prior to your stay, and service was extremely slow throughout our staff , particularly on the terrace where it was taking 20 minutes plus to get a drink or food order in and then at least another 15-20 before said food order drink is given to you. We also had an odd interaction where we were given the wrong wine and when this was raised the server , he make little to no effort to rectify the issue and instead made us speak to the bar staff ourselves. When speaking to the bar staff, they refused point blank that the wine was incorrect as they poured the wine they were quote “told to pour” and continued to state this even though the name of the wine the poured differed to the wine listed on the menu. They did correct it in the end and were apologetic but it was such an odd back and forth given the fact that they were holding the bottle that clearly had a very different name and grape to the one ordered.
Liked atmosphere

Like and live everything except the service in the restaurant was very poor
The service in the restaurant was very poor, very slow and not interested!
Comfortable and spacious rooms.
Limited dinner/bar menu and breakfast was very disappointing. Restaurant staff didn't seem to like their jobs. Also, difficult to identify who was working there as they all wore casual clothing.
