Great spot. Really enjoyed using the pool.

The breakfast was ok but for a foir star hotel it eas very self service. Not enough staff on. Toaster very poor food was ok but i thpught the whole exprtience was too kiotic the tea was cold having to race around trying to find thinhs that should be more easily available. We just felt it needed alot of refimment

I felt the food on the bar was good but patchy. Selection on the menu was very Poor and presentation left it dpwn alot. Service on the second night was very poor. Staff are very frendly and helpfull i just think the whole thing neefs alot of tefinement.

Located well outside Athlone, on the Lough. Large, well appointed room with a double and a single. This is a fairly big hotel with a spa with a great pool. Choice of a restaurant or bar food. Very nice and professional staff. An extensive choice for breakfast, very well cooked and presented.

The room view was very disappointing looking out onto a heating system or something of that nature which made a lot of noise

It was a very beautiful hotel, on a gorgeous setting, the staff were all lovely and were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Beds were unbelievably comfortable. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Je ferais une piscine Adult Only car les enfants qui jouent font beaucoup de bruit et c'est dommage il faudrait un lieu piscine sauna que pour les adultes car même dans le sauna ou hammam nous entendons les cris MAIS c'est juste pour faire un retour c'est la seule chose à redire et qui n'est pas non plus dérangeante énormément c'est un léger axe d'amélioration

We found the general hotel very clean, the food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately we didn't realise that not upgrading to a lake view room would mean we were left with a view of a rusty ventilation system and a dirty window. The room was also not as modern as described on the website. If we would have known this we would of upgraded to the lake view rooms which appear to be the more modern rooms with a nice view. We didnt love the cleanliness of the room, we had dead flies on the inside of our window sill along with some dirt and grime around our bathtub.The rooms are not very sound proof and unfortunately when the guests across the way would close their door, our door would rattle and make a lot of noise. We also had to keep our bathroom door closed because we could hear the next door guests conversation very clearly even though they weren't talking very loudly.

Staff were exceptional. Busy hotel but nothing was trouble.

Nous avons eu plaisir à revenir au Hodson Bay Hotel : - Emplacement au calme au bord du lac (une vue magnifiques !) et à proximité d'Athlone - Aile familiale séparée de l'aile réservée aux adultes - Très bon petit-déjeuner buffet (avec 2 choix de salles, l'une pour la vue et une plus au calme) et plusieurs choix de restauration sur place - Grande piscine et salle de sport très bien équipée, avec des activités proposées gratuitement (ex. Aqua aerobics) - Personnel au petit soin, avec une belle belle surprise dans la chambre en arrivant ! - Grande chambre et une baignoire et une douche dans la salle de bains

- Des aliments manquants pendant toute la durée de notre séjour au petit-déjeuner (ex. Nutella, confiture de fraise), avec des assiettes parfois sales - De l'attente au bar, avec parfois un oubli de la part du personnel qui sert d'autres personnes arrivées après nous - Lit un peu trop mou - Des activités annoncées mais aucun créneau proposé lors de notre séjour (ex. Yoga pilates, zumba, spinning) - Un parking un peu petit pour la capacité de l'hôtel et ouvert aux extérieurs, ce qui oblige parfois à tourner pour trouver une place - Il manque des jeux comme des billards, des fléchettes, des jeux de sociétés, des livres...

All was good. Nothing really to complain about!!!

The pool area. We got an upgrade to a fabulous room. The food was good.

On Sunday we were unable, to get a light bite for lunch as it's only Carvery between 12 and 4pm. And there is nowhere near by to go for lunch. Also for busy season I was expecting more evening entertainment for Adults. If you going with small kids there is a kids club.

The whole place was superb.

We booked a lake view suite and there was a view of the roof so very misleading. There was bird poop absolutely everywhere on the window, I get birds poop but this was really bad and obviously built up over time. There was dirty chocolates behind the curtains which showed the room wasn't clean and the latts from under the bed where broken or fallen down. I was told that a manager would call me about this but I never recieved that call. So when I got a email today to leave a review I said I would. It was our first anniversary so we really wanted a nice room. Other than the room the hotel and staff are lovely. We had dinner in the bar on our first night and the food was lovely. Only a short drive into athlone town.

It was hot weather and lack of air conditioning plus hotel was busy so Long Queue on the Sunday Morning Breakfast

The hotel was well maintained and clean. The room was uodated and nice and spacious.

The parking, hotel guests had to find a space along the road side. They should have preferred parking allocated. The real downside was the breakfast, it was awful, not what a 4 star hotel should offer. We were so disappointed. It reminded me of school canteen, food under a lamp. You couldn’t even order anything all was self serve.

The seating in the seating areas are too low not suitable for some who would have liked to sit and enjoy. Dont want it looking Like a nursing home but higher seating scattered around would be good

Le camere. Ottima la moquette nuova e pulita e persino Non male il mobilio vecchio, ma non sono insonorizzate, si sente tutto ciò che accade fuori, la mattina si sentono i mezzi di servizio fare manovra con le sirene accese, e non c’è asciugamano, né accappatoio né ciabatte.

Location next to the water

The rooms are not air conditioned. We had to ask for a room change after the first night due to the overnight temperature in room 101 as this was directly above the trunking / pipework feeding the hotel. Reception were prompt with allowing the room change to continue the stay.

The location of the hotel on the lake was beautiful and the space outside the hotel was just lovely especially with the hot weather.

It would be great if you were allowed have snack food outside particularly when the weather is changing and we're going to have hot spells like this one. The breakfast room was very crammed and thought the tables were too close to each other.

The space in the room, the lake view, the quiet! Dinner options were great. Having Baysports nearby was handy.

The bathroom could do with a little upgrade. Several cracked tiles and the extractor fan didn't work. The breakfast room was very busy and cramped.
