They need to offer more vegetarian choices at dinner. They offered only 1 vegetarian main dish in the evening.
In a lovely quiet location . The staff were excellent and my 4 days we had some lovely guests. Nice breakfast and evening meal .
My bed was awful .. Very uncomfortable and thick heavy duvet . Spoilt the few days that I was there . I would come back as there were far good things than bad .
Very pleasant staff
Too many steps for disabled people
Breakfast, wonderful choice, hot or cold.
Everything was good.
Although they weren’t able to give us one room for 3 they gave us 2 super rooms. We could see jersey cows from our window! The breakfast is superb. And all the staff were very helpful. It was an enjoyable stay after a long ferry journey.
The beds were on wheels and moved a bit.
Room was spacious, although had very noisy neighbours. Not the hotels fault but still very frustrating at 3.30am. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice: cereals, fruit, pastry, nuts/seeds, full cooked english, toast and a number of juices with tea and coffee. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Would recommend and return.
Breakfast ,helpful.staff ,outdoor space
Pool wasnt heated
Lovely location. Room facilities were fine.
Some of the bedroom furniture could do with updating - it’s a bit tired. Some of the items were missing, e.g hair dryer, dressing table stool; but supplied on request
The bed was very large and comfortable and the room had plenty of storage and amenities such as hairdryer and extra blanket although we did not require this. There was a very spacious wardrobe as well as drawers so plenty of storage for our stay. The TV was modern that you could cast media from your smartphone. The windows in the room open fully which was good to circulate air as it was very humid during our stay. The variety of the inclusive breakfast was excellent and everything was well cooked. There was lots of seating in common spaces both inside and outside the hotel. The staff were very friendly and got us checked in & out quickly while also explaining clearly what the hotel had to offer. You can see Jersey cows in the field behind the hotel if you're by the tennis court, but while the location is rural, it's also very easy to get to and not far from local amenities such as shops nor is it far from the beach.
The door to the bathroom had clear glass panels in it rather than being opaque or a solid door; this seemed like a very odd choice although we were fine with it as a couple. While the rooms are very nice some of the corridors are a little worse for wear, especially the bannister on the stairs to access the rooms felt loose. Some of the outside space around / behind the tennis court was poorly maintained and had some broken furniture. It was also hard to find staff when we were trying to check out.
It was quite clean and had a lovely atmosphere, staff were very helpful and the available activities were good.
When paying extra for a family room, I requested an extra large double bed and a single. This ended up being two single beds pushed together which was quite uncomfortable when sharing with my partner and the bed for my son was a sofa bed which wasn’t overly bad just not what I expected for the price we paid for the extra family space.
The staff were lovely and the hotel is spotless.
The food was disappointing. Breakfast is buffet style so hot food becomes overcooked and the choice was limited. The scrambled egg was awful. We booked the evening meal once. My husband’s dinner was the worst curry he has ever had. The chicken was dry, the sauce was water and it had no flavour. My fish was ok
Loved staying at Beachcombers Hotel with 4 members of my family (aged 14, 17, 21 n 28). We were really looked after by all of the friendly hotel team. The pool is wonderful. There are Jersey Cows in field right next door and free range chickens can be spotted too. The library is exquisite and encouraged reading again. We enjoyed a beautifully created evening meal where our family joined. Very central as buses running frequently to Liberation Station in town. Nearby to Gorey Castle with views from hotel. The white sandy beaches of Grouville Bay. The hotel position is perfect for summer sunset skies. There is a perfect chippy in Gorey Village which we ate together on the hotel lawn. Five mins walk away is a well stocked supermarket open till 8 pm every night with very friendly helpful staff. We throughly loved our stay and when our ferry was delayed another night we did not hesitate to book our extra night with Beachcombers Hotel.
We loved everything.
Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff were wonderfully polite and helpful all the time. A very well run Hotel.
Nothing I liked everything.
Relaxed atmosphere. Attentive staff. Food was excellent. Good parking.
Nothing.
Helpful staff. Lovely buffer breakfast
On main road. Quite noisy
Very friendly Pool was a bonus
All the staff were exceptional friendly helpful kindlived the hotel and near to everything
Bathroom could have been a little more modern and we stayed at the front main road which was a little noisy but didn’t upset our adventure of jersey
Lovely Staff and breakfast 😋 👌
Area that takes you out to the pool area chairs need cleaned.
Breakfast was excellent and dog friendly but dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.
Good swimming pool. Good bar. Close to a shop. Good breakfast
Dinner menu and the price, I only ate once and it was very poor... yet the bar snack menu is nice and fair. The staff in the dining area need training in my opinion and as , I have been in those positions before in life can say that.
Always a pleasure to stay here, the staff are very friendly and the location a bonus, oh and fantastic buffet breakfast for all dietary needs.
Het personeel was heel vriendelijk.
Afgeleefd hotel. Ben na een nacht vertrokken
We had to find a night in a hotel because of ferry cancellation. Although some pars are a little dated everything was clean and tidy . The staff were very nice and friendly plus couldn’t be more helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
The only thing that was annoying was are windows overlooked the entrance and a couple of guests came out for a smoke late at night with one that spoke on loudspeaker on his phone at 2am in the morning. Apart from that great stay
Good but a bit jaded No cooling for rooms
It was a lovely friendly hotel beds were comfortable and very good breakfast and reasonably priced drinks
Most of sunbeds were broken and wasn’t enough for warm weather and bedroom could done with a fan with weather being hot .
Nice small hotel with old fashioned feel to it with nice staff and good breakfast
Rooms were on the small side but more than adequate
Everything. Love the location with a bus stop just outside. Beautiful walk to Gorey. Staff exceptionally helpful, and very friendly. Good choice of food for breakfast. The room are very clean and the beds are comfortable. I was only here on a business trip, but I am planning a holiday in Jersey later this year and will certainly stay here again.
Nothing
Breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly.
Room was very dirty, bedding & towels were clean but there were a lot of spiders & webs everything was dusty, we had a a room that opened on to the pool area but the doors didn’t lock, would not stay there again because of this.
Well maintained, exceptional team, great breakfast, lovely grounds.
Room 47 got a lot of laundry noise. The Washer/dryers run day and night. I managed to sleep but would not choose to stay in room 47 again, even though the room itself is great!
Breakfast selections were good.
Given the hot temperatures and the price of a room, air conditioning should be a given. Failing that, a fan at least should have been provided, but a spare one was not available until the second night. No hair dryer provided. Window was difficult to open (Room 35). Upstairs corridor was very hot.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Any issues were addressed and resolved satisfactorily.
Great location, easy access to must-see sights.
Mattress and pillows are worthy of an upgrade.
Good location. Very attentive staff. Great breakfast. Pool area, dining room and bar modern and clean
No air conditioning. Shower in our room was horrendous! Little more than a trickle. Not enough power sockets, only three that I counted, none near the bed and one unusable as was flush with the counter top & plugs wouldn’t fit. Room was lovely (but hot) but the corridors leading to it were tired and dirty with bags of washing left outside our room along with piles of old paint pots! Had to ask for our room to be serviced & towels changed two days running as hadn’t been done by 4pm
Excellent breakfast & pool
9pm Bar shut for england game having previously rung and asked but was told would be open . Only just caught Reception @9pm as was leaving Rooms very scattered needed directions No air con Very hot rooms so quite small some chose to sleep by the pool overnight Double beds not twins for a group of 11 men
From your photos of the Hotel the property is completely misleading to what I thought I was staying at might have looked like photos 10years ago .I booked a Superior Room very small the window/blind dirty the stairs had not seen a vacuum cleaner (dirty on arrival ¬ cleaned over my 5night stay)The whole hotel is tired and the pool area not inviting broken sunbeds, umbrella stand empty, glass table tops never cleaned you have to get your own sun bed cushion just not presented for hotel guests nothing like the beautiful photos on your site with well tended gardens summer house kitchen garden patch just not there. Will not return or recommend The staff in breakfast room spray tables with a product and wipe but then plates cup/saucers stick and makes you feel the table is dirty
For management to oversee the the style of hotel and get rid of broken garden furniture, pool cover torn bits left in garden boarder BIN IT and get a Broom it could be so fantastic just step up to the challenge
The breakfast was very good. It would have been better if you could make your own tea.
Tea was cool and too strong
Location
Everything ! Dreadful ! It’s a breach of trade descriptions to call it a newly refurbished Boutique hotel . It’s a 3 star dump and that’s being generous . The breakfast was horrible . No proper fruit in sight ! Tinned fruit only . Not a banana or any proper fruit . Cooked was horrible . Staff not friendly .
Quiet location near to golf course. Good parking. Staff really helpful. Good range of breakfast being replenished constantly. Very clean swimming pool.
Our original room was connected to room containing boiler so consequently very warm - very kindly moved us to different room which was more comfortable.
A nice clean family frendly hotel. Local coop only 5 mins away. Nice walk
Not much space in shower room .hook on door would be handy to hank towel on
Moquette noseabonde
Scheve lamellen, weinig opbergruimte in badkamer.
V friendly and helpful staff. Clean. Fan provided in our bedroom which we definitely needed. It was nice to have the pool area, even though we couldn't go in the pool as it was freezing. Also several sun loungers did not work properly and you couldn't prop them up.
Our bedroom was unbelievably hot and we couldn't work out why. Also a few of the plug sockets didn't seem to work. Our phone charger plug got extremely hot very quickly so we were worried there was an electrical issue. Pool was cold but website said it was heated so we didn't use it. Breakfast was fine but pretty basic. Could have added more pastry choices for example. And it's a bit much to offer filter coffee but then charge extra for an espresso or cappucino when breakfast is supposed to be included.
It was tastefully decorated and clean. Towels changed every day. Towels, mattresses and cushions supplied when round the pool. Pool cleaned every day and covered at night
Not near enough to the beach. Having to pay extra for a breakfast. No lift, as we were on the top floor and one of our group found it very hard climbing all the stairs
Location very nice chilled out and staff done everything to make your stay a pleasant one. Will be definitely going back
Place and staff
Staff were cheerful and effective.
Breakfasts were tepid. Duvet filling was very patchy. Bathroom poorly designed for elderly. clients - no grab handles. No shelves for wash bags. Car park and gardens scruffy. Fag ends, dead bikes and a stink of fuel oil.
Rom was not made up or cleaned after first night. We were told they were too busy
Buffet breakfast ,excellent
Nothing
Very outdated needs moderation
Poor breakfast
As nice weather the pool
Location to the sea was a distance and short staffed
All the staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable
The hotel just lacked any energy
The hotel was really lovely, everywhere was spotless, staff we're cheerful and so friendly. Location was ideal situated between Gorey and St Helier
That there was no air conditioning or ceiling fans
It is clean and presentable
It seemed a shame for the one member of staff I saw the whole time we stayed. She worked on reception, in the kitchen, covering the pool, at the bar and was even helping fix a fan from a guests room. She appeared to work very long hours.
Excellent staff. Good breakfast choices. Very clean. Good car parking.
Could do with a decor update in the rooms and landing.
Staff were really helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.
Very understaffed, one hard working girl for reception, bar and restaurant. Accommodation was clean, but a bit tired and run down, with several minor repairs needed. Bar closed at 9.00 which was disappointing.
Very clean and beds comfortable and there was a bus just across the into town
Clean and bright
Breakfast felt rushed although it was supposed to be until 10 o clock. We felt as if we should hurry and tables around us were being cleared and tables laid for dinner while we were still eating.
The location was very good, near the bus stop which has a regular service to St Helier or Gorey pier. Also there are shops and restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room looked like it had been recently redecorated but could have done with a new carpet.
One odd thing about the room was that the bathroom was down a few steps in the room but there was no door on the bathroom which would of been better
English breakfast was good but it could have been hotter, continental breakfast was poor I thought it would have come with a croissant,it was only two one inch square cheeses one slice of ham and slices of tomatoes
The view from our room was over looking the car park the restaurant wasn't open for evening meals although it was clean the bed was very comfy the bed room needed updating
Friendly, helpful staff.Generous breakfasts. Convenient location outside of the city area. Quiet area. Parking on site. Window in room could be opened. Jersey cows in the paddock next to the hotel.
Lack of air conditioning. No flyscreen on room window. Water pressure to shower was very low. No fridge in the room.
Wonderful staff comfortable bed access into bathroom an shower was poor especially for disabled people no evening meal available
Other than access everything was good
Lovely staff and welcome. Good breakfast and value for money.
Bit dated and needed some tidying up, especially in bathroom.
Quiet and comfortable . Excellent breakfast
A little fridge in the room would be very welcome
The staff were lovely.
Our room faced the main road and the traffic noise was something else. Very noisy. No curtains just biinds. Very bright at 6am! Also the towels might have been a little bit small! Because there was no restaurant available for meals just breakfast it might be an idea to put a small fridge in the room. Swimming pool was also unavailable. Btw the bar shuts at 21:00
Breakfast, would be nice to have plate warmer next to buffet as food only warm but very tasty. Lovely fresh selection Local books in bedrooms
Stay too short
Cleanliness and quality of staff
Shower difficult to operate
Beautiful quiet location staff friendly and very helpful.
Friendly staff, good parking, quiet location
I didn’t like their breakfast.
Staff were hellpful. Was a nice hotel. Clean.
Breakfast. Was not able to get it despite paying for it
Friendly staff and first class treatment
Friendly and attentive staff
Nothing
La gentillesse et le professionnalisme des employes
La gentillesse des employes,
Staff very flexible and supportive (opened breakfast early for us so that we could eat and play football at 10:15am). They were also very polite and approachable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the rooms were really nice and spacious.
The bathroom and shower.
Rooms clean and adequately heated
The staff were very helpful, all of them. The food was lovely the bar relaxing rooms comfortable and ample parking. Not a bad location for the whole of the island. Definitely go back again.
Nothing I didn’t like, all great.
Great location
I found the pillows a little too soft as I prefer firmer ones - but this was only a minor issue
Breakfast and staff were great. No room information about hotel or local facilities.
Bar facilities were poor there was a bar Tarim showing draught beers yet there weren’t any so had to buy 2 small bottles and a soft drink £16 later
The overall presentation. Breakfast. Staff
Bathroom cramped but acceptable
The food here is amazing. We ate breakfast and dinner and we can’t fault it. very nice. 1 course £20, 2 courses £27… worth it. Rooms, quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff were absolutely fantastic. So so helpful and knowledgeable. Just wonderful. Bus stop outside the hotel which was so handy. Co-op supermarket a 8 min walk which was brilliant. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Obviously nothing is perfect, the hotel is clearly in an old building, and if I really had to make any suggestions I would say the bed cover was a little lumpy and we could have done with another towel. (Which I’m sure they would have given us if I’d asked). However I slept so well and that’s all that matters.
