We kregen een heel hartelijk ontvangst van de gastheer met lekkere koffie of thee. Het ontbijt was ook heel lekker. De kamer zelf bevond zich in de tuin van de gastheer. Het was onze beste homestay tijdens onze rondreis. Mooie kamer met airco, waterkoker, muskietennet en een geweldige douche met warm water. s Morgens en s avonds terug landen na een dag vol excursies in de hangmat voor je kamer. Wij verbleven hier 1 nacht op doortocht. We zouden normaal pas s avonds aankomen maar omwille van medische redenen waren we er al rond de middag. Om de dag toch nog wat vulling te geven,heeft de gastheer een excursie naar Yala voor mij alleen geregeld. Perfecte namiddag gehad!

Great place to stay if visiting Yala. Family were so lovely, they even loaned us bikes to get dinner and go into town. Safari day trip by family member was amazing, private jeep and we were lucky to see all the animals we wanted to, even the leopards ! Fabulous experience with great lunch included. The room was incredible, after 1 month in Sri Lanka this was the cleanest and most tasteful. There was even a scented candle lit in the bathroom. Hammock on balcony to chill in the evenings, can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely stay, you won’t be disappointed.

Hem estat només una nit perquè anàvem a fer el safari de Yala, i ha estat una molt bona elecció. Ens van organitzar el safari de manera molt ràpida, fàcil i a bon preu, així que no ens vam haver de preocupar de res. L'habitació és molt adequada per passar-hi una nit: neta, còmoda i amb tot el necessari. A més, la ubicació és bona, amb diversos llocs per menjar molt a prop. Si busqueu un allotjament per fer nit a Kataragama abans o després del safari, el recomanem totalment.

Le Homestay est très bien et les hôtes sont vraiment très sympathiques. Ils se sont occupés de l’organisation de notre safari, ce qui était très pratique. Les repas prévus pour le safari étaient d’ailleurs très bons.

Petit point à savoir : il n’est pas possible de dîner à l’hôtel le soir, et les restaurants aux alentours sont assez moyens. Il faut donc prévoir de manger ailleurs ou de s’organiser en conséquence.

Tienen dos habitaciones y nosotros las cogimos las dos. Hicimos el safari con ellos y fue muy bien. El chico que nos atendio super amable y colaborador. Cenamos las dos noches en un restaurante a 5 minutos caminando y nos encanto. Comida local. Me dejaron hacer dos lavadoras sin cobrarme nada y es de agradecer.

Nous avons passé un super séjour à kataragama homestay. La chambre était propre et mignonne. L’emplacement était bien pour trouver facilement des restos et visiter le plus grand temple du coin. Le petit déj était généreux. La famille d’accueil s’est occupé de notre safari à Yala qui s’est très bien passé. Le chauffeur faisait tout pour qu’on voit le maximum d’animaux et il a bien équilibré entre spots très recherchés par les jeeps et endroits plus calmes où on s’arrêtait pour regarder la nature et laisser l’espace pour des surprises. Nous sommes très contents de notre séjour. Nous recommandons bien cet hôtel.

Uma estadia fantástica antes dos nossos safaris no Yala National Park. O Sahan e o Upul foram extremamente atenciosos desde o primeiro contacto e ajudaram-nos a organizar os dois safaris (um Block 5 na tarde de chegada, outro Block 1 na manhã seguinte), com preços justos e sem qualquer complicação. O quarto era confortável, limpo, com ar condicionado, e o pequeno-almoço foi ótimo, já dentro do parque. A localização é sossegada, no meio da natureza (vimos esquilos e macacos), mas próxima o suficiente às entradas do parque. Recomendamos muito para quem procura uma experiência genuína, longe dos resorts genéricos, com anfitriões que tratam os hóspedes como família. Voltaríamos sem hesitar.

Warm welcoming hosts. Clean, well designed room with aircon. We had breakfast on two mornings for a small additional cost which was delicious and exceptional value. The property is away from the centre of town but we borrowed bikes for free and easily cycled in. The hosts arranged safaris for us which were outstanding and the guide was knowledgeable and clearly had a respect for the animals. We were lucky to see leopards, elephants and many other animals/birds. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We had an Amazing Stay, they made sure everything was confortable for us and arranged a private safari for us that was amazing. They also took care of every dinner and breakfast for us and booked us a transfer. We recommend 100% this homestay. Thank you so much again for everything.

Nice and cozy room, close to all the major sites. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful and they arranged a beautiful safari for us! We absolutely loved it, would come again!!

ホストの人柄が本当に素晴らしいです。予約したプランには朝食のみが含まれておりましたが、到着が遅くなったりサファリ後で疲れて夕飯探しに困っていると、祖母お手製のカレーを用意してくれました。とても美味しかったです。 また滞在中に午前中時間がかなりあったので何しようか迷っていたところ、ホストがバイクでカタラガマ市内を案内してくれてとても楽しかったです。 スリランカに第2の実家ができたような気持ちで、ホストの温かさに触れて心がとても満たされました。今回はヤーラ国立公園を訪れるために滞在しましたが、次回はこのホストファミリーに会うためだけに行きたいぐらい！素敵な思い出をありがとうございます。

シャワーのお湯の温度が低いのが気になりましたが、外の気温が高かったので個人的に大きな問題は感じませんでした。あとたまに停電しますが、都市部ではないので仕方がないことだと思います。ヘッドライトなどの非常用の電灯は持っていたほうがいいかも。

L'accueil et la propreté des lieux.

Absolutely lovely place just a short walk from the main town area, but they have bicycles you can borrow if you'd prefer a quicker trip. Lovely host family, with the young fella running the place going above and beyond to make your stay there as nice as possible. Just watch out for the monkeys trying to steal your delicious breakfast ;)

We had a very nice stay at Kataragama Homestay. The place is peaceful, comfortable and overall has a really pleasant atmosphere. The room was clean, beautiful and spacious, and the bathroom was very big, which was a nice plus. There was also a fridge in the room. The whole area around the accommodation is really nice and calm, so it is a good place to relax. The staff were kind, friendly and helpful. Another big advantage is that they can organize a safari for a good price, which makes everything much easier if you are planning to visit the national park. Parking is also available, and the location is quite good — relatively close to the center, but still quiet. I don’t really have anything negative to say. For us it was a very good stay and I can definitely recommend this place.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here !! The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Perfect location for accessing the park as well. The male host was very helpful throughout our stay and spoke great English. He even organised our safari for us which was very helpful. Breakfast was nice and consisted of omelette, toast, fruit and coffee. Would highly recommend

Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet gewesen. Klimaanlage hat ihre Arbeit getan und hervorragenden Schlaf beschert. Der junge Mann der uns empfangen hat ist absolut zuvorkommend und freundlich. Abendessen wurde uns ebenfalls angeboten und im Haus zubereitet. Im allgemeinen kann ich diese Unterkunft absolut empfehlen und in Verbindung mit einer Safari im Nationalpark ist Sie eine tolle Ausgangslage für den Start am Morgen.

We loved this place. Such a cool place to stay. They loaned us bikes to ride around on. Organised a tour of yala national park. Did our laundry. So helpful. Room is so nice. Wish we could have stayed longer.

There was no hot water early in the morning to shower before the Yala safari so I didn’t feel I had time to message the owner to get it sorted before we had to leave. But I’m sure it would have been sorted if they had been informed.

It was rustic and basic. Extremely functional

Safari için 1 gece kaldık. Kahvaltı yapmadık çünkü çok erken gittik safariye. Ama kahvaltı için ilk girişte hemen sordular saolsunlar. Çalışanlar çoki ilgilendi. Hatta bize yemek yemeye giderken ücretsiz bisiklet vermeyi teklif etti. Bahçesi güzel, hamak var, her şey düşünülmüş. Klimali odası, sineklikli yatağı ile burayı çok beğendik. Mirissaya geçerken ise bize uygun fiyatlı araç bile ayarladılar. Adamsınız.

Excellent stay, beautiful room and bathroom, spotless. Coffee, tea, water, fridge provided. Cute terrace. We could borrow also bicycle. Walking distance to the city. Nice breakfast. They can also prepare dinner however we didn’t try. Wifi good and hot shower as well. Very comfy bed.

We love this place, it’s the third time that we’ve stayed in Kataragama Homestay. The family that runs it are very very kind and they offer a really nice breakfast. The place is clean and very well decorated!

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön und sehr ruhig gelegen, extrem sauber und unglaublich schön eingerichtet. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und hatten eine tolle Zeit. Aus der Hängematte konnten wir Affen in den Bäumen beobachten.

We only stayed one night at Kataragama Homestay before our safari in Yala, but we really enjoyed our stay. The room was pleasant, the bed comfortable, and the small terrace surrounded by greenery made the place feel peaceful and relaxing. We booked our safari through their provider in Block 1 since Block 5 was flooded, and we were not disappointed at all. Visiting in May meant there were fewer tourists, which made the experience even better. We were even lucky enough to spot a leopard!

Nous sommes pleinement satisfaits de notre séjour à Katagarama Homestay. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par les hôtes, attentifs et attentionnés, dans leur havre de paix niché dans une nature verdoyante. Le logement est conforme aux photos, aménagé avec goût, d’une propreté impeccable et le petit coin terrasse est très agréable. Le lit est grand et très confortable. I had a wonderful stay here! The location is peaceful and features a beautiful garden. The rooms are very nice and clean. While the property isn't located right in the village center, it is perfectly situated—just a short walk away, or a quick ride using the bicycles you can conveniently borrow right on site. I also recommend booking a safari directly through the homestay. I did this and had a great experience; the guide was friendly, experienced, and made the whole trip memorable.

We loved our stay here and were sad to leave! The two guest rooms have been recently renovated so they were very clean and elegantly designed inside and out. Nice furniture and good air conditioning. The surrounding gardens were beautiful, full of fruit trees attracting a range of birds. We even had a monitor lizard stroll past us on the terrace! Our hosts were warm and friendly hosts and the Homestay was only a short walk or cycle from the town centre and sacred precinct. All in all an excellent experience and superb value for money.

Beautiful space to unwind, modern and blends with the background nicely. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, highly recommended.

Lots of insects, but there's nothing you can do about that! The bed comes with a net so you're safe while sleeping!

This place is operated by a family. the host is very friendly, speaks good English and accommodated our requests. The room is more spacious than it appears in picture. The room has a mosquito net and a vaporizer. The price they charge is reasonable. If you plan to enter yala national park using the back gate, I recommend staying at this homestay.

The bathroom window lets in bugs but this is the same design everywhere in Sri Lanka.

Lovely and new building. 1 of 2 units. We really enjoyed our stay here. The room is a good size, and perfectly clean. The AC is effective, and the shower room is good. Outside, there is a hammock and chairs to relax. The family are able to manage organising a safari in Yala. We also decided to stay beyond our safari and exploring Kataragama is absolutely worth spending an extra day for. The family provide bikes which make exploring the town easy as it is not far by bike (5 mins)

Really nice homestay, beautiful rooms and very kind host family. They cooked us a very nice dinner on both nights for a good price. There are free bikes that can be used to visit the nearby sacred city. They organize safari trips to Yala as well They even drove us to our next destination. Highly recommend

Eine sehr schöne moderne Unterkunft, die wie auf den Bildern aussieht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir haben auch die Safari über die Unterkunft gebucht.

Die Klimaanlage ist etwas laut und im Bad war ein komischer Geruch, aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau ;)

One of the most beautiful accomandations we had during our trip in Sri Lanka. The familx was incredibly welcoming and made us ferl at home right away. They even helped me organize a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. We would definitely stay here again!

Neues Homestay mit modernen, aber trotzdem authentischen Zimmern. Das Bett ist sehr bequem und hat ein Mückennetz, es gibt ausreichend Ablagemöglichkeiten und einen Kühlschrank sowie Wasserkocher. Die große Terrasse verfügt über verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten und eine Hängematte, von der sich aus Vögel und Affen beobachten lassen. Der Host hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und auf Anfrage vorab eine Safari in den Yala- Nationalpark organisiert. Dafür ist das Homestay der ideale Ausgangspunkt, weil man über den nördlichen weniger frequentierten Eingang in den Nationalpark fährt. Wir waren für eine Nacht da und haben eine Morgensafari gemacht.

Wow!! This was one of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka, the room was modern, clean, had nice hot showers and in a perfect location. They allowed us to use the bikes for free so we could ride into town for dinner, we recommend the Wild Edge restaurant. The hosts were lovely we were greeted with traction our arrival. They organised a safari for us and it was the best experience we’ve had so far! I would 100% recommend people to stay here!

Очень понравилось это место! Ничего от него не ожидали, т.к. бронировали всего одну ночь, чтобы отсюда поехать на сафари. Но за свои деньги это просто великолепное место! Сразу же брали у них сафари. Ездили утром, в джипе были только мы с мужем, водитель, его маленький сын и в парке к нам присоединился гид, который помогал нам находить животных и рассказывал интересные факты. Нам очень всё понравилось, самые искренние рекомендации 🫶

Très charmant homestay où nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Notre chambre était vraiment adorable, impeccablement propre, avec un grand lit équipé d’une moustiquaire, la climatisation et un ventilateur. Il y avait même un frigo, ce qui est très appréciable. Nous avons également réservé le safari du matin par leur intermédiaire, et tout était parfaitement organisé. Nous avons eu un guide génial et, sans doute aussi un peu de chance, car nous avons pu observer un magnifique léopard, des éléphants, des buffles, un paon faisant la roue, des biches, des cerfs… ainsi qu’une multitude d’oiseaux. Une expérience absolument fabuleuse que nous recommandons vivement.

Cet hébergement est exceptionnel. Spacieux, propre, bien équipé. L'accueil y est très agréable et l'environnement très calme. Il n'y a rien à redire.

The property is very nice and clean, in the middle of the jungle. The staff was truly hospitable and helpful, and took care of organizing our entire safari in Yala National Park.

We didn't sleep very well because unfortunately the air conditioning, even if present, didn't work and the room was very hot.

Nessuna finestra in camera,all arrivo il bagno era pieno di api che la proprietaria ha debellato su nostra richiesta e durante la notte sono entrate delle rane. Troppa umidità date le temperature Per il prezzo pagato vale meno.

Buena habitación calidad precio con ventilador y aire acondicionado (es necesario), los anfitriones muy amables, organizamos un safari con ellos y fue de lo mejor, lo recomendamos muchísimo.

Il posto è bello e accogliente, la famiglia che ospita è gentile e simpatica. La camera è bella, soprattutto per quel che costa paragonato ad altri posti in Sri Lanka.

Non fate assolutamente il safari con loro. Noi abbiamo prenotato il Safari mattiniero (half day) con una guida con orario 5:30-12:00. La guida è il ragazzo che lavora presso la struttura e non è del tutto idoneo al ruolo di guida turistica e sopratutto ci hanno fatto uscire dal parco Yala alle 10:30, ossia 1:30h prima di quanto preventivato. Si sono giustificati con una scusa banale di errata comunicazione con il driver ma non è possibile rientrare nel parco una volta usciti. Ci hanno offerto uno sconto minimo per il costo totale della struttura + safari ma comunque non è stata per niente una bella esperienza. Alloggiate qui ma non fate il safari con loro

Está cerca de Kataragama para poder ir andando. A unos 15 minutos.

La atención nos dejó un poco que desear, es cierto que al llegar nos ofrecieron un té pero después no tuvimos más contacto con la anfitriona, a pesar de ser un homestay. Para nosotros la cama aunque fuese grande nos resultó incómoda. Aunque tenía mosquitera había muchos bichos en la habitación y salimos llenos de picaduras. La habitación está equipada con aire acondicionado lo que hace la estancia mucho más agradable. Teníamos dos noches reservadas pero nos resultó algo incómodo todo y nos fuimos al día siguiente. Al marcharnos antes de tiempo no salió a preguntar qué sucedía, nos atendió alguien de su familia que nos cobró las dos noches. No pudimos desayunar allí y a pesar de tener los desayunos incluidos tampoco preguntaron nada, pero si que lo cobraron.
