The check-in was not as expected. I had to wait a long time for someone, and eventually had to look for help myself. A child who was playing in the basement ended up showing me the room, and there was no introduction to the facilities. It felt quite awkward

The room was nicely decorated and the WiFi was great. Location was perfectly between Hiriketiya and Dickwella. Good value for money and breakfast each morning was lovely! There are occassional planned powercuts in Hiriketiya, which we didn't realise - nothing the accommodation could do of course but useful to know!

Amazing bed and breakfast!!! The private rooms are stunning and such a relaxing vibe. Very clean rooms with good aircon. Our room had a huge fridge and freezer. Breakfast every morning was excellent and they give you something different every morning. They put in a lot of effort here, very kind people. Thank you🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hiriketiya was our favourite destination during our trip to Sri Lanka, and we're glad we chose to stay at Ayubowan. The property is quaint, charming and spotlessly clean. It's very centrally located- a five minute walk from both the main beaches in the area (Hiriketiya Beach and Dickwella Beach). The property manager Saroj and the staff were friendly and helpful- they always had a smile on their face, and went out of their way to accommodate us. The breakfasts were varied and delicious, and the property proved to be incredibly good value. Highly recommended overall!

The bathroom is fairly basic and the water pressure was a tad low during our stay, but we didn't mind it too much.

We spent two excellent nights at Ayubowan Hiriketiya! The location is perfect, less than a 10-minute walk from the beach, and a bit quieter. The room is very clean, with a large bed and air conditioning that works really well. The bathroom is also clean. Breakfast is generous and delicious. All the staff are smiling and very attentive. We even received some tea as a farewell gift, which was very kind!

Het is heel heet in de badkamer. Het maakt niet uit of je het raampje openzet of niet. De kamer heeft een balkon, maar geen zitje of wasrek buiten.

Chambre et salle de bain toutes neuves et très confortables. Personnel très accueillant et disponible. A quelques minutes du centre et de la plage mais au calme.

We hadden met ons gezin alledrie de kamers geboekt in dit fijne guesthouse. Hele vriendelijke ontvangst, de kamers zijn heel netjes en alles is nog vrij nieuw. De locatie is prima om zowel dicht bij Hiriketiya als Dikwella beach te zijn.

Super clean hostel and homestay in Hiriketiya. Dorm room was super clean. AC really cold and one night had it to myself. The Sri Lankan breakfast each morning was different and delicious. Great way to sample some local flavours. Also really quiet compared to other places I'd stayed in Sri Lanka

The location was perfect in that it is a few minutes' walk away from the beach and restaurants. I felt at home and really slept well. Everything was spotless and serene of the place. Breakfasts were also filling, delicious and beautiful.

We loved our stay here so much we came back to stay for a second time! Ideal location (5 minute stroll to main street in Hiri) but far enough away from loud late parties at night. Peaceful surroundings. Beautiful breakfast each morning and the family are super sweet. Really comfy bed, great AC and balcony access. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Fantastic little BnB in the heart of Hiriketiya, very close to all the main shops and a 7 min walk to the main beach. The double rooms I had booked were incredibly clean and modern with large comfortable beds. All electronics worked perfectly and the bathroom was also well designed and spacious. The host family was incredibly kind and lenient on a slightly later check out and available for communication whenever we had questions. We had two yummy Sri Lankan breakfasts both days.

Nothing! Was all perfect, easy to get in and out. Didn't care there was no pool as the beach was a skip away.

The wife of the owner doesn’t speak & understand good enough English. I explained her I don’t have cash with me and I need to go to the ATM to get money. She treated me like I am a dangerous criminal. I truly recommend to make an English course before working with customers! This made my whole stay a bad experience.

It’s a nice clean place, the personal is super friendly and you get different tasty breakfasts every day. You get to the beach super fast and have lots of restaurants around, still it’s quiet because it’s a few meters away from the road

The bathroom is rather basic. They only start serving breakfast at 9 am, which is very late for me. Breakfast was OK, although I asked for milk for the coffee and they said that they didn't have any. I thought it was very strange, because as far as I know, Sri Lankans have milky tea. But even if that wasn't the case, considering that they cater mainly for European tourists, I don't think it was an odd request.

The place was in a very good location, close to the Hiriketiya beach. The room was wonderful, very clean and nice aesthetic and spacious. But what made our stay the best was the staff! So extremely lovely and the breakfast was amazing (the sambal). Overal a great stay, would recommend it to everyone!

I had such a wonderful time at this hotel. So many good things about it, and I am picky. Breakfast is homemade and authetic. So delicious. Often the guest all have together which is fun. The bed was so comfortable. I had a room to myself. Room was large. Only 4 rooms so it is quiet and bespoke and private. Very good wifi. The quality is high as it is only 1 year old. The style and colour is beautiful and relaxing. 5min Tuktuk to town Dickwella. It is a short walk to everything; beach, massage, yoga, surfing, restaurants. But it is back from the beach so super quiet and with jungle vibes. Peacocks, monkeys and trees seen daily from the balcony. I would stay here again. So lovely.

Nothing. Low water pressure and mainly cold showers as the pump takes a while- but you need cold showers as it is so hot in Hiri, so not a problem.

My stay at Ayoubowan was beyond exceptional. This has been my favourite place I've stayed in Sri Lanka and the location is so close to the beaches (Hiriketiya & Dikwella) and restaurants, located at the top of a small hill to watch monkies and peacocks wander daily. I am so grateful the family could accommodate my extended stay, I loved the 5 nights I stayed here. They provided the freshest breakfast each morning and hosted a family dinner one night with all the guests to enjoy and meet one another. Additionally, they also organised private transport for me to go to Ella. Thank you so much!

The private room I stayed in here was absolutely exceptional. It had beautiful sunlight all day, a desk to work at and was super comfortable. Everything you need is a short walk away, and it was out of the hustle and bustle. The breakfast every morning were sensational. Saroj and his wife are beautiful, kind people. As a solo traveler I can't recommend this enough.

We had a perfect stay! Saroj and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished, with a beautiful balcony that was perfect for relaxing. The Sri Lankan breakfast they served was delicious. The Wi-Fi was impressively fast, which was a big plus. We also rented a scooter directly from them at a very reasonable price, making it easy to explore the area. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for friendly hospitality, clean and comfortable rooms, great food, and convenient services.

Everything was perfect here! The room and bathroom are very clean and new, aircon works well, the breakfast is so fresh & delicious, and the owners are super kind and lovely. Our room had a nice balcony as well. Big bed with side tables. Short walk to the main beach, supermarket & restaurants. Nice & quiet location,l where you can relax and escape the heat. The room has a kettle and there is a shared fridge & drinking water dispenser. The hosts also showed us how one of our favourite dishes were cooked in their kitchen! Thank you for a lovely stay, this was my favourite place to stay in Hiriketiya, if you are not sure just book it!

We had an amazing stay at Ayubowan. The host family is very attentive and friendly, the breakfast was different every morning and had a vast variety of traditional srilankan dishes. The hostel is quite new and everything was very clean and in prime condition. The beds were comfortable and sturdy, you could also sit comfortably on the bottom bunk without hitting your head ;) The location is great, walking distance to both beaches and the restaurants and bars in the area. We highly recommend!

The fan in the room is very powerful and still not noisy, but couldn't provide the comfortable coolness of an AC.

We loved our stay here, we stayed in one of the private rooms in the hostel and it was super clean with a balcony and air con. The location is great between the two beaches and our hosts were lovely, couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was different each day which was great. we ended up extending a night, it’s great value for money

The hostel is perfectly located between the two main beaches and close to nice cafés and restaurants. The hostel is very new and super clean. They provide clean bed linen and towels. The breakfast served every morning is fantastic. The optional family dinner was also one of the highlights of my trip. They cooked the most delicious meals I have tried on Sri Lanka! But the special thing about this place is the family that runs it. They are super sweet and help you with everything you might need. They even dropped me off at the bus station when I had to go back to Germany. I extended my stay four times because I didn't want to leave and I can't wait to come back!

I liked completely everything. As the rooms were designed in modern style with warm pleasant colors. Everything was incredible clean.

Definitely the most beautiful guesthouse I had in Sri Lanka !!! (I've been here for 6 weeks so I've seen quite a few !) Everything was perfect! The house is beautiful and brand new with a good taste for decoration. The bedroom was super clean with comfy beds, personal light and lockers in the dorm, the fan is really powerful and reach all the 4 beds. The shared bathroom was also really clean and spacious. The breakfast included was WONDERFUL ! A different breakfast every morning with everything you need to start the day full of energy :) And you can share it with the other guests which was lovely to meet new people :) The guest house is ran by Saroj and his lovely wife who is an excellent cook by the way ! Their 2 kids are really polite and quiet as well as the whole family ! Beautiful and nice people ! The location is perfect, only 10 mins walk from Hiriketiya Beach, Dickwella Beach and the Main Street with plenty of restaurants around. You can also rent a scooter or a Tuk Tuk as they own a rental business. And you have a laundry right in front of the homestay where I did a laundry of white clothes and I got it back like brand new and smelling so good !!!! I really enjoyed my stay at Ayubowan Homestay, the best place for a really fair price. I highly recommend this place if you are staying in Hiriketiya :) Thank you again Saroj and your beautiful family for this wonderful stay ! :)

It is a family business. They are very kind and attentive. The room is very comfortable and clean. It is also possible to rent a bike there. The location is also perfect.

This place is amazing!!! I recommend this with eyes closed. It had been my favourite hostel in my whole trip in Sri Lanka by far. The family that runs the hostel it’s so kind, so nice and helpful. The place is modern, super clean and beautiful. Also really good located, at 5 minutes from the beach and bar, coffees and restaurants. The room (I booked the share room) was big with clean and new linen and towels. It is full equipped with fan and lockers inside of the room and all the beds has their own plug and light. Also the breakfast was so good, tasty and with love. The owner and his family were amazing in all moments. Thank you very much, I leave complete satisfied and grateful.

Great and brand new accommodation right inbetween Hikka and Dickwella beaches. It was a short walk to both beaches from the place. The hosts were super friendly and avvommodating. I can highly recommend staying at this place.

New, clean properly with comfortable bed, great AC and great wifi! Perfect location between both beaches and lots of good restaurants. Laundry service is across the street, breakfast was delicious every morning, and they helped me organize a taxi on the Weligama. Owners are so kind! Probably my favorite place I stayed in Lanka 10/10 recommend!

What a wonderful spot! Perfect location between two beaches with a really down to earth Sri Lankan family. Breakfasts were really delicious and were different all 4 times. Drinking water was provided. The room was quiet and really beautiful - lovely balcony, everything works well (shower, AC, etc). Scooter rental was a fair price and it was a good scooter. We met a couple of other guests that were really friendly. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay in this brand new guesthouse! The family opened it in December and they are constantly working on improving what they offer. The location is perfect, in the middle between Hiriketiya and Dickwella beach: walking distance from many bars and restaurants, supermarket, shops, street food and the two beaches of course, still in a quiet street surrounded by greeneries. Our bedroom had a large window (which is super rare in Sri Lanka and especially in home stays / guesthouses) on a small balcony, a big (and silent!) fan that for us was more than enough (they also have AC) and an extra big and comfy bed. The wifi was working perfectly (also a rarity!) And special mention to the breakfast: so big and delicious with typical sri lankan food prepared fresh every morning.

I have a few minor comments, mostly recommendation for an even nicer stay! - The absence of mosquito net on the bed or on the window makes it difficult to keep the window open all night (we solved it closing the courtains, but could be added). - Since breakfast could only be ready around 8/8.30 (since everything is freshly made) it could be nice to add a little kettle for coffees and teas in the common area - The hot water shower did not have much pressure
