The owner.Her greeting was shouted “You’re 35 minutes early, I’m not ready” to be followed by telling my husband he needed to allow for 4 parking spaces ! At no point during our stay did she apologise, she was very officious certainly not suited to her role and has totally put me off going to a guesthouse again. Very very disappointed.

AMANDA IS LOVELY AND WE GOT LOST ON OUR WALK BUT SHE WAITED FOR US AND OPENED ONCE WE FOUND THE WOODLAND. COMFY BEDS AND A GREAT BREAKFAST WHICH CAME SUPER QUICKLY. LOVE HOW THE SEATING WAS MADE. WE MET SOME INTERESTING PEOPLE BY SHARING A BIG TABLE.

YOU NEED GOOGLE MAP TO FIND THIS PLACE. SAFARI ORDINARY MAP DOES NOT SHOW UP WOODLAND GUEST HOUSE. WE CALLED AND GOT DIRECTIONS LUCKILY.

Straightforward - easy check-in. Good facilities in room. Owner contacted me prior to arrival. Very helpful owner. Very clean room. Owner takes security very seriously. Great breakfast.

Too far out to walk for an evening meal and no food to be consumed in bedrooms. Shower was broken and the cooked breakfast was simply odd like everything had been pre cooked then nuked in a microwave. Gist was quite brusk also

Come prima cosa ad aprile, dopo mesi dalla nostra prenotazione, ci è arrivato l'avviso dalla signora che il costo della camera sarebbe stato più alto perchè lei non accettava il prezzo con con lo sconto Genius. Ad aprile, però, la scelta per un'altra sistemazione si era ridotta, quindi abbiamo accettato di pagare di più (175,00€). La signora ci ha accolto urlandoci in faccia che la porta deve essere sempre chiusa (abbiamo poi avuto difficoltà ad aprirla dall'interno, e con noi altri ospiti), e trattandoci male perchè l'auto non era stata parcheggiata come voleva lei (come potevamo saperlo?). Avevamo prenotato la camera al piano alto perchè avremmo voluto provare lo stile "cottage", invece ci ha dato la camera al piano terreno, anche se bella, non era quello che avevamo scelto. Il bagno è completamente da ristrutturare: aveva vasca idromassaggio non funzionante con il doccino appeso allo stipite della finestra di legno, e quindi inutilizzabile se non tenuto in mano. I miscelatori erano durissimi da utilizzare, e lo specchio del bagno era uno di quelli a molla (arrugginito), di 17 cm di diametro che di solito è in più rispetto ad uno specchio grande sul lavandino che non c'era. Ragnatele con ragno sul soffitto proprio sopra al letto. Per fortuna abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte, perchè il rapporto qualità prezzo è stato davvero scarso .

Our second time visiting Woodland, and just as perfect as the first time. Amanda (and Molly!) are so welcoming and hospitable. All the comforts of home, exceptionally clean and breathtaking views for miles.

A mile or so from town center (which we knew), so not walkable at night in the center.

Struttura veramente bella e caratteristicha. Comoda per spostarsi all'interno delle Cotswald come base, il paese di Stow on the Wold è 5 minuti di macchina o 20 a piedi. La signora Amanda è stata di una disponibilità altissima, molto attenta alla pulizia e all'ordine della camera. Colazione preparata fresca e su richiesta direttamente da Amanda. E' presente un ampio giardino molto piacevole sul retro della struttura. Como danche il parcheggio.

La struttura è appena fuori il centro di Stow-on-the-wold, circa 5 minuti in macchina, immersa nel silenzio della campagna. Da qui i principali villaggi delle cotwolds sono raggiungibili comodamente in auto in poco tempo. La proprietaria è stata molto gentile e le sue omelette a colazione erano davvero buonissime! La camera era molto pulita, abbastanza spaziosa e accogliente.... Il bagno era pulito e comodo, con vasca e doccia. Non capisco le recensioni negative, noi ci siamo trovati davvero bene e lo consigliamo a tutti!

I felt that Amanda was extremely rude and patronising, she treated us as if we were prisoners on our own weekend away, she behaved as though we were children having to follow her specific rules and regulations which were ridiculous e.g lights that cannot be switched on, no food in your bedroom , and you have to sit in a dining room with lots of other people to eat. Amanda was very cold on reception, she gave a basic hello and then immediately started instructing us on parking and the rules. Me and my partner felt extremely uncomfortable in this situation, the property was advertised as a large guest house however it was not , it was merely a normal house with slight adaptations. No communication whatsoever, a request was made on a message prior however was ignored and disregarded.

Leaving the carpark is a difficult it is on a bend in the road with poor visibility of oncoming traffic which makes exiting the premises difficult. A morror at the opposite side of the road woild make it much safer. The room we stayed in was a twin where was very little room to manoeuvre around as it is overfilled with large furniture. Decoration was very dated. No mirror in the bathroom.

Prezzo/qualità: fuori mercato. Per la cifra richiesta (quasi 200€ a notte), il servizio offerto è nettamente al di sotto delle aspettative. Un prezzo di questo livello dovrebbe garantire standard ben diversi da quelli riscontrati. Accoglienza. Il primo contatto telefonico è stato gestito bene nonostante la titolare fosse impegnata (in doccia), ma all'arrivo ci ha fatto pesare, in modo ingiustificato, un orario che rientrava perfettamente in quello concordato. Colazione — il punto più critico. - Sala colazioni molto piccola: solo due tavoli (uno da 2 e uno da 6), spazio risicato. - Il cibo viene preparato al momento e la qualità è buona, ma l'attesa è lunghissima e, nel frattempo, non viene messo a disposizione nulla: niente pane, brioche o biscotti per ingannare l'attesa. Il pane si ottiene solo su richiesta. - Il secondo giorno, pur essendo i primi (nessuna fila, nessun altro ospite in attesa), l'attesa è stata comunque lunga a tavolo vuoto. - Si percepiva anche una certa fretta nel liberare il tavolo per altri ospiti. - La struttura era al completo: la titolare, sola, non riesce a gestire adeguatamente il servizio. Servirebbe quantomeno un aiutante, soprattutto considerando le tariffe applicate. - Suggerimento implicito: predisporre in autonomia (self-service) acqua, pane, biscotti mentre si aspettano i piatti caldi. Camera. - Nessun frigo bar: non specificato nell'annuncio, ma nel 2026 dovrebbe essere uno standard minimo. - Camera molto piccola: con una valigia media appoggiata a terra risulta impossibile muoversi; è stato necessario tenerla sempre in verticale e aprirla solo per il tempo necessario, con notevole scomodità. - Nessun ascensore (comprensibile per la struttura), quindi con bagagli pesanti è necessario fare le scale, a meno di non essere alloggiati al piano terra come altri ospiti.

Zimmer wie in den Bildern, sehr bequemes Bett. Sauber, gutes Frühstück mit Obstsalat und einer netten Gastgeberin. Möglichkeit abends noch im Garten zu sitzen. Parkplätze sind vorhanden, es müssen aber alle ordentlich parken (notfalls hätten wir aber gegenüber in einer Ausbuchtung eines Weges auch parken können, wäre also auch kein großes Drama gewesen). Zentrale Lage für Ausflüge in der Nähe.

Das Futonbett/ Zustellbett ist für kleinere Kinder vermutlich geeignet. Unser Kind hat schon die Größe eines Erwachsenen und auch fast das Gewicht eines Erwachsenen und fand es nicht sonderlich bequem. Der Raum ist auch eher klein, insbesondere durch die Schrägen. Zu Zweit würden wir die Unterkunft nochmals wählen, zu Dritt eher nicht für mehr als eine Nacht.

The breakfast was great. We also had one piece of luggage lost on the flight. The owner changed her plans to be at the house to recieve it when a messager brought it.

Amanda! He wasn’t there when we arrived (in the middle of the check in period). We were locked out. She said (on the phone) she would be 5/6 minutes and arrived 20 mins later. Her attitude was indignant rather than apologetic. She repeatedly told us she was on her own and her attitude at times bordered on hostile. We breakfasted (very nice breakfast btw) with other guests one of whom said he didn’t think she liked him and another described her as dour. She was on her own and she was busy. But that cannot be taken out on the guests. Get some staff!!!!

Very nice picturesque property, bedroom/bathroom very good. The breakfast was excellent. The lady who runs the guesthouse was very pleasant but is clearly stretched managing everything on her own, she does a very good job.

Being very picky and critical, with the extremely hot weather, a fan in the bedroom would have been appreciated. On very busy days like when I was there, the parking perhaps needs to be controlled a little more as the way one or two cars were parked made spaces very tight.

호스트 Amanda 가 가본적으로 손님 응대하는 태도가 엉망입니다. 체크인 시간보다 25분 일찍 왔다고 짜증을 내더니 키를 줄테니 나가서 다른데 가있다가 시간 맞춰서 오라고 하더군요. 퉁명스러운 말투로요. 처음부터 너무 불쾌했습니다. 주차도 차를 한쪽으로 붙여서 대라고 하였는데 말투가 너무 기분나쁘더군요. 그리고 체크인시 기본적인 사항에 서명을하고 3시까지 나가 있으라고 해서 쫓겨나오듯이 나왔는데 뒤에서 "Who took my ballpen!!"하고 소리치더군요. 물론 자기가 못찾고 착각한것이었지요. 역시 무례한 태도여서 마치 저를 볼펜 도둑인냥 의심하는 것처럼 들렸습니다. 기분이 안 좋았지만 이미 예약이 확정되어있으니 어쩔 수 없이 지시대로 3시까지 차를 몰고 근처에 나가서 길가에 대기하다가 돌아와 방으로 들어갔습니다. 체크인에 25분 일찍 도착했다고 이런 대접을 하는곳은 처음이었네요. 우리가 동양인이어서 그런가 의심도 들더군요. 여행중 가족들 모두 기분이 상했지만 어쩔 수 없이 하루 숙박하고 나왔습니다. 방에 들어간 후는 마주칠 일이 없어서 더 이상 마찰은 없었지만 직원이 우리를 대하는 태도를 보니 머무는 시간 내내 불편하고 기분이 좋지 않았습니다. 오래 일을하다보면 이상한 손님들도 많을 수 있겠지만 저런 태도로 손님을 대하다니요.. 이해할 수 없습니다. 안내책자에도 키 제출하면 벌금이 25파운드라느니, 체크아웃이 늦으면 시간당 20파운드 벌금이리느니.. 규칙이야 있을 수 있고 안지키는 손님들때문에 어려운 점도 있겠지만 호스트. 의 태도와 겹쳐서 생각해보면 손님을 어떻게 취급하는지 느낌이 왔습니다. 오늘은 다른 숙소이 왔습니다. 가격도 더 저렴한데 방도 더 크고, 방마다 작지만 선풍기도 놓아주고(지금 영국이 폭염이라 다들 힘드는 상황인데 당연히 아만다의 숙소는 선풍기가 한대도 없어서 힘들었습니다. 직접 가지고 간 hand fan 2개로 겨우 버텼습니다.) 호스트는 정말 친절하고 편안하게 응대해주었습니다. 당연히 안내문에 벌금어쩌고 하는 협박은 없고요, 일반적인 당부사항 안내 및 편히 머물다 가라는 따뜻한 안내가 전부였죠. 세상에는 이런 숙소가 대부분인데 아만다같은 호스트는 정말 드문경우였습니다. 가족들과 나중에 영국여행에 대해 이야기를 하면 나중에는 재미있는 추억이 되겠지만, 그렇다고 이런 불쾌한 경험을 다시 하고 싶지는 않습니다. 다들 조심하세요.

The room was very well kept and clean. Nice view to look out at! Updated bathroom. Picturesque setting. Didn't have the breakfast but it smelled good!

We thought the host could've been nicer, she didn't greet us when we entered her property and was quite rude. We felt a bit like a burden for staying there and for asking for clarity about simply locking the front door/ parking. Also, could've used a fan given that the heatwave was pretty extreme.

The breakfast had a good menu and was freshly prepared to order. But we wouldn’t say it was exceptionally good.

Parking was a little difficult because the spots are small and everyone had to make sure they parked perfectly. It is also on a busy road which makes it a little scary to back in or out.

We stayed during a heatwave and room was very hot - not even a fan available for cooling. Would be fine in regular temperatures though. No fridge in room. Booking.com info presented it as though double bed and futon bed available in room, but futon bed/foldable bed only on request at extra charge.

Mal trato de la dueña, hacía mucho calor no había aire Acondicionado, nos dio un ventilador pero no permitía usar heladera y en la habitación no había frigobar, nos dio hielo la primer noche y la segunda aviso que no podía darnos hielo ni tampoco poner bebidas en la heladera y de mal modo nos habló

Beautiful place to stay stunning Guesthouse really nice lovely gardens and great location. Amanda is an amazing lady and very hard-working all on her own. Very friendly and accommodating.

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like.

The lady was not pleased with us because we rang the doorbell a few times instead of calling her on her mobile as was on the display on the front door.

Overriding disappointment was the lack of breakfast. Lots of reviews say it is excellent, but booking.com leads you seamlessly from rooms in the guest house with breakfast to the self-catering apartment without. I'm afraid this completely overshadowed our stay, so quirks became irritants. Attached screenshot of the apartment kitchen still references the breakfast, even though it does quietly disappear from the details.

Our host was lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was great. We really enjoyed the omelettes and fresh fruit. Property is beautiful and peaceful.

The shower was a little challenging to use based on where it was attached to the wall and where it sprayed. There was however a large, beautiful tub that we wish we had time to use but it was such a short overnight stay for us.

Not a place for business travellers. Proprietor will not issue a receipt if booked through a third-party platform. She also was not willing to issue check-in details electronically, as she distrusts such methods. Guests have to call her during strict hours to get the keybox code.

Muy linda, limpia y confortable la casa y la habitación( se puede mejorar el catre). Baño con muy buena ducha y amplio. Desayuno muy bueno con frutas, yogures, menú caliente a elegir y bien casero. Excelente atención de Amanda.

Reservamos una cama doble y un futón pero en lugar del futón era un catre y era incómodo, muy cerca del suelo.

We had a fantastic room with sunrise views. Parking was not an issue. Breakfast was quite tasty. We liked the breakfast set up that allowed us to chat with the other guests.

Everything was great. The exit of the parking area was a little nerve wracking since the driveway is on a blind corner but it was all good.

We stayed 1 night Nice room, clean large shower easy to access. Although stairs up to room may be a problem if you are less mobile. Fantastic breakfast couldn’t fault it.

The staff and the environment around

Very quiet and beautiful location and very comfortable bed and seating area. It was really nice to have access to the garden too. It's walking distance to Stow on the Wold as long as you don't mind walking on rural roads.

I felt it was quite expensive for a self catering apartment but I'm not sure if that's just because of where it is. It was also smaller than I expected but not sure if that's just because of the way the ceiling is because of the layout and location of the apartment. Also, because it's over the garage, there were a few times when we heard a lot of banging of doors.

Easy to find, nice location. Several guests all arrived at the same time, at the end of a long day, most of whom weren't native English speakers. Even so Amanda was professional in getting everyone checked in promptly, and helpful in providing information regarding local area such as places to eat out. Room was clean. Linen spotless. Shower a little small but hot and had good pressure. Bed was very comfy, had a really good night sleep. Breakfast had a lot of options. Amanda was pleasant and accommodating, service quick, and eggs cooked to order. No complaints with room, staff, or breakfast.

Only disappointment was I had the idea I would be staying in a farmhouse type environment, with the owner/host. Which I accept was down to my personal interpretation of the listing. Not realising it's a hotel meant i was a little disappointed to discover I wouldn't be in a less formal, more open home type environment. Also I expected to be able to take my morning coffee and sit in the garden to appreciate the view. But there's a new garage built across the property that's not shown in the photo, and the rear section of the grounds is fenced off, so isn't accessible. As a hotel, it's perfectly suitable, no complaints. But my expectations were somewhat different. Even so, still recommend staying here if you're looking to explore Stow on Wold and wider Cotswolds area.

A fost cam frig din cauză ca a plouat, dar am avut un calorifer electric în cameră pe care l-am putut folosi și a fost de ajutor. Mic dejun standard cu câteva variante din care să alegi. Nu aș recomanda ouăle poșate care sunt de fapt fierte.

Il cottage è bellissimo e super tranquillo pur restando vicino ai vari paesini. Il giardino e i dintorni sono un vero spettacolo della natura, la casa era funzionale e comoda e la signora Amanda è stata gentile e disponibile per tutte le informazioni che ci servivano.
