Bedroom is at street level, many tourists walk the cobbly iconic streets. So you may end up closing the bedroom windows because of the noise. Not a real problem, just that you know.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Everything! Apartment was VERY well-maintained and thus very clean. Shower is good. Kitchen has the adequate supplies. Bed is very comfortable. Street is very quiet. If there were other tenants or guests in the building, I didn't hear them. There is a supermarket close by, and a very nice bakery and restaurants just around the corner. The bybanen (light railway) to and from the airport is a 10-minute walk in a straight line until you turn onto the little street where the apartment is.
It's not a dislike for me, but for those with mobility or balance issues, be warned that you need to walk up and down a very steep street to get to and from the property. The cobblestones, when wet (and it rains a lot in Bergen) tend to be a bit slippery.

It is a bit of a walk (10-15) if your only focus in Bryggen. That said it was perfect for us as we explored nordnes and the city centre also. Perfect stay and would stay again, just a bit of extra cleaning (eg. Heavy dust in the cupboards, on the window frames and under the bed etc) then I’d rate it 10

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026The apartment was lovely. Newly remodeled with fine bathroom and kitchen. Overall: small, cozy and perfect for Bergen. Location excellent for walking everywhere in Bergen-close to port, restaurants, museums. Hosts easy to communicate with.
Unit is on a narrow, hilly street. Uber has difficulty finding. Bedroom is very small so one person has to roll over 2nd person to get in and out of bed. No washer/dryer, but dryer rack. Would be nice if additional light near dining room table.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Great location in a very cute neighborhood! The apartment was very nice for two people and for a short stay. The kitchen was very well equipped (only a microwave would have made it fully complete) and with nice appliances. Everything was very clean, nicely decorated and furnished. The host was very kind and reactive.
Towels could be replaced with bigger ones. The mattress, although comfortable, might be a bit thin for some people.

We also walked to our fjords tour, which was located between the apartment and Bryggen. The apartment had everything we needed for our 2-night stay; it was away from the busier streets, but close enough to walk to anything we needed, and everything we wanted to do.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2025This place located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods I've seen, all the buildings in colors and flowers everywhere (!). The apartment itself is on the first floor, beautifully designed, equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and sofa, very clean. The communication with the owners was excellent, everything was smooth with fast response.
1. The apartment it down the heel, can be slippery when it's rain (I recommend to go down from the next alley). 2. No luggage storage 3. Can hear the sound of people entering the building or walking.

Wat kleine mankementjes aan de douche en het toilet, met name de toiletbril verdient wat aandacht (en een WC-rol houder zou ook een mooie upgrade zijn;)

Reviewed Aug 4, 2025Très calme malgré son emplacement au RDC dans une rue du charmant quartier de Nordnes. Jolie déco scandinave, bien équipé. Très bonne communication avec l'hôte. Parking (payant) tout près : Kloster et prendre la sortie piétons du même nom (tout en haut).
Pas du tout un problème pour nous mais mieux vaut savoir que la rue est très en pente avec petits pavés (ouille les roulettes des valises !)

Because of the nature of the property, it felt at times that we were sat in a gold fish bowl and as it was so hot during our stay we didn’t feel that we could leave the windows open at night, so it felt very stuffy, but we did feel comfortable at the property.

Space was compact but had everything one would need during their stay. There is a grocery store down the street, if you need it and bakery near by too. Thank you for the coffee!

Was a smell of damp when coming in for the first time and the time after but seemed to go after having window open. Lack of black out blinds might bother some in Norwegian summer. Would be nice to provide shampoo and not just shower gel but not a major issue

Reviewed May 30, 2025Lovely location within walkable distance of everything. Perfect spot for a home base in Bergen. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. The Lovetann Cafe around the corner was also wonderful for a light dinner. Kitchen has everything we needed and is super efficient. Very quiet street and comfortable bed. Excellent all around.
This is super picky and not a criticism, but a bath mat would be helpful because the bathroom floor is slippery.

It is small and located on the ground floor, so sometimes is a bit uncomfortable and you have to draw the blinds, getting a bit too enclosed. But over all, a good stay.

Reviewed Jan 5, 2025The home is situated in a superbly picturesque area that is well-placed to truly immerse you in Bergen. The apartment is a ground-floor flat and comes equipped with everything you may need for short city breaks.
The biggest disappointment of this apartment was the realisation that you aren’t actually staying in the orange traditional building that is pictured in the advert. The property you will stay in is a small block of apartments situated directly behind the beautiful orange property. We found this to be misleading. As such, we didn’t feel it represented great value for money. The property is not somewhere you will particularly enjoy staying, as there is nothing particularly special about it besides the location.

Not an issue for us but if you are walking with luggage the appt is up a hill with cobbled streets so you might want to take a taxi.

The way "Knosesmauet apartment" is written on the entrance door is very cheap... I could hear the neighbours walking and using the stairs but they were not noisy at all.

It would have been good to have a toaster, but easily used the grill of the oven instead.

The location is great, very centric, in one of the most beautiful streets of Bergen. We did a tour around the city and our guide stopped at the entrance of this street so people could take pictures of it ;) It's a pity we only stayed two nights.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2023A newly renovated apartment in old town. Location is fantastic; walking distance to places of interest in the old town and train station is walkable distance. The apartment is as shown in the photos and really cosy apartment. Nice hot water showers, a kitchenette that allows you to cook and comfy mattress and pillows. Check in was easy and clear instructions.
Nothing really! I didn’t have this issue but the pathway to apartment is cobbled stone slope so for those with suitcases will give wheels a good run.
