Masayahin Cabanvillas and Dive Centre was hands down our favourite accommodation for our entire Philippines trip of Bohol and Cebu. We were just sad we didn’t have more than one night here at Santander to explore it properly, as we booked it as a stopover on our way to Moalboal. These beautifully clean and comfortable little cabin villas have everything you need, all overlooking the ocean and with a small private beach for snorkelling or learning to dive. They also offer lovely, freshly prepared meals and drinks at affordable prices (too affordable - it’s easy to keep drinking those delicious cocktails!), and a deep 8-ft pool overlooking the sunset for dive training (book ahead first). It’s a little piece of paradise that owners Mark and Kay have made here, and they go out of their way to help guests with local tips and chit-chat about the Philippines.

Nothing. It was perfect all around. Our kids were just sad they didn’t see the resident kitty cats this time. :-D

Place is quite and relaxing

The pool, the beautiful coral, the turtles, the breakfast with yoghurt, the burgers, the beds, the spacious room for the family. We really felt welcome @Masayahin.

This is an excellent hotel and dive centre. Mark and Kay are lovely people, very friendly and helpful and they clearly go out of their way to ensure their guests have the best experience. The rooms are great with comfortable beds, the view is amazing. The facilities and diving/ snorkeling gear they provide is great and they have what feels like a private reef full or Marine life. I cannot reccommend this place enough.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Masayahin was a beautiful property to stay at. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, the views were incredible, the pool was nice, and the owners and staff were super helpful and friendly. The location was perfect as we could be at several different waterfalls or see the whale sharks within a half hour and still have time to come back, chill, and go out again for another activity. We were lucky enough to come during low-season and have the place ourselves and get to know the owners and the area more. Would definitely recommend staying here!

There wasn’t anything we could say we didn’t like.

Beautiful spot, looking out over the ocean. Everything you could want at the facilities - we loved our room! And great shower pressure compared to other places we’d stayed in Cebu! Staff are very friendly! Also gave recommendations for local areas / restaurants & recommended where to hire scooters etc

For us the perfect place to make a stopover from traveling, on the main road. But as soon as you enter the place it feels relaxed. Very nice staff and good food. Good for diving too!

Calm and nice area with wonderful view

Beautiful small resort in Santander. The view is stunning, and the coral out the front is beautiful. Lots to do in the area. Owners live there and take care that everything is running well. Highly recommended.

oh wow...Peace of your own paradise. Deep(!) pool overlooking ocean from higher cliff, hidden steps down to small private beach with palms and diving hut; in the ocean - coral garden shining in setting sun...and I've met turtles!:) In the room: everything you need, super comfortable not too soft mattress, beach and home towels with great water absorbing fabric(Finally! i dont know what it is with fuzzy plushy towels in the Philippines:)) they are everywhere and just smear water around:))) Super tasty breakfast options, wonderful pumpkin soup! and amazingly kind and helpful owners!:) I got my breakfast much earlier in the morning to make it for Whale shark swimming and a lot of help with local tips. So many waterfalls around! and diving snorkling options everywhere. Also italian restaurant at walking distance. it was a pure pleasure to spend 2 days there and to meet you guys. Thank you!:)

Jointly owned by American husband and Filipina wife, who have managed to deliver the great things about staying in the Visayas countryside while removing many of the usual local annoyances. Clean, recently constructed, well-built to keep mosquitoes and other bugs out. Magnificent sea view. Food delicious, menu with perhaps fewer options than other resorts, but all menu items in stock (for PH, a small miracle!) and very tasty. Snorkeling out front also quite nice — saw a bristle-tailed filefish that was new to me after hundreds of dives in PH. Friendly, generous, and kind service. Quiet but still well-located near Lilo-An ferry, Oslob whale sharks, several beautiful waterfalls, and Italian, Belgian, and local restaurants.

Water pressure in shower could be better — I expect they are working on improving this.

We like to escape the city to South Cebu from time to time and this is our new favorite place. We will definitely be coming back here! Snorkeling on their house reef we saw 3 sea turtles, one was huge, many different corals, fish and creatures…excellent! The room was really nice: high quality linens, large flat screen TV with many channels, stellar view, comfy bed, AC works great, and everything is clean. Breakfast was delicious and the prices are reasonable for the portion size. We love the way the property is set up. There is actual parking, the views of the Tañon Strait and neighboring Negros Oriental are fantastic, the stairs down to the beach are modern and safe, there are showers to use after snorkeling, and the landscaping and plants everywhere are really appealing. For tourists to the Visayas, the location of Masayahin is perfect for spending some days exploring the area: Kawasan, Whale sharks in Oslob, numerous waterfalls, snorkeling or diving…are all easily accessible from here and you will be very pleased to return to this relaxing, super comfortable, very well run, cool little resort after your day’s activities.
