La pulizia è da rivedere, non c'era nessun tipo di sapone, ma solo due boccette semi vuote lasciate dal cliente precedente e neppure gettati via. Il lavandino era otturato e lo scarico del gabinetto perdeva acqua. Le lenzuola erano macchiate.....

Het hotel heeft van binnen een beetje lugubere uitstraling. De meubels zijn erg gedateerd en de badkamer is aan renovatie toe. De badkamer was ook niet helemaal schoon en er zaten 3 velletjes toiletpapier op de rol, geen nieuwe rol op kamer en geen personeel te vinden.

In particolare abbiamo interagito via wathsapp per prenotare un tour sul kinabatangan ad un buon prezzo e per allungare di una notte la permanenza ricevendo sempre risposte veloci e professionali. Posizione buona nella zona del porto. Finestra in camera e addirittura in bagno.
Poche prese della corrente. Nessun interruttore della luce vicino al letto. Una sera abbiamo trovato una grossa blatta in camera ad accoglierci.

Wir sind angekommen und haben den Mitarbeiter an dem Tresen aus dem Schlaf geweckt. Er wusste nichts von unserer Buchung und musste erstmal telefonieren. Nach einigen Minuten bekamen wir einen Schlüssel hingelegt. Sowohl am Eingang und im Hotel steht auf mehreren Zetteln der WhatsApp Kontakt des Betreibers für den CheckIn oder weitere Fragen. Leider bekamen wir über den Chat nie eine Antwort. Auch im Booking.com Chat bekam ich nie eine Antwort zum checkin und weiteren Fragen. Bad wurde nicht gereinigt. Sehr laut vom Flur und von der Straße, sodass man nicht gut schlafen kann ohne Ohrenstöpsel. In der zweiten Nacht haben wir gewechselt. Meiner Meinung nach gibt es in sandakan den gleichen Preis bessere Unterkünfte.

Reviewed Feb 23, 2026It's a good option. The room is spacious and comfortable. Hot water shower. Clean. Free water top up. Use of a kettle on the 2nd floor landing, also a iron and ironing board. Close to the local bus station for onward travel to Sepilok. Close walking distance to restaurants. Yes, it is dated, however, it is in a depressed area as is Sandakan itself. Would I stay again? Yes if I ever returned to Sandakan.

La mauvaise isolation, la chambre n’était pas propre et la salle de bain n’avait pas dû être nettoyée car nous avons retrouvé des excréments dans les toilettes et sur les toilettes, dans le lavabo et sur la porte de la salle de bain !! Nous avons dû nettoyer par nos propres moyens car il n’y avait personne à la réception… Si la chambre était propre nous aurions passé un meilleur séjour …

Lift was out. I was on 4th floor, I had luggage, I am 70 in average shape. Discovered on my way out the water I'd craved was on the 2bd floor. Two floors down and 2 floors back up wouldn't have been worth it, especially when you're tired late at night.

Reviewed Dec 17, 2025La ubicación y la tranquilidad del sitio pese a estar en el centro. La habitación tenia buena iluminación natural y se veía el mar por la ventana.
Fue como volver a los 70' pero después de 30 años de uso: moqueta, cuarto de baño,...estuvimos solo una noche porque al día siguiente teníamos contratado un tour a la isla de las tortugas y luego ya dormíamos en Kinabatangan. Si no eres escrupuloso, por ese precio la habitación no está mal.

Noisy with traffic/outside sounds when sleeping on the street side of the building, but can be solved with earplugs. Only sometimes someone at reception who only speaks very limited English. When needed they can very difficult to reach by phone or messages.

Reviewed Nov 16, 2025Hotel położony blisko centrum Sandakan. Obsługa była dostępna i bezproblemowa. W pokoju miałem dostępna klimatyzację oraz łazienkę. Dobra cena, na kilka nocy w sam raz, przenocować i jechać zwiedzać okolice. Obok hotelu sklep.
Pokoje były ciasne. Ciepła woda pod prysznicem była albo bardzo gorąca albo zimna nawet gdy ustawiałem grzanie na minimum. Przez to że pokój był mały klimatyzacja w moment wyziebiała pomieszczenie nawet ustawiona na 25stopni przez co trzeba było ją wyłaczac i za chwilę znowu robiło się duszno... Brak trybu sleep w klimatyzacji.

Reviewed Oct 14, 2025To an extent, the hotel was exactly as expected: Cheap, with a room in line with the price. It was not unclean.
The shower did not work. I would have asked the front desk for help, but there was no one there when I went down. There was someone there when I arrived. He did not understand the printout of my reservation and didn’t know who I was. Luckily, my room key, with a post-it with my name, was left out on the counter so we didn’t need to communicate; I don’t know how I would have gotten my room otherwise. However, this is an extremely unsafe check-in for a woman traveling alone. I did not see anyone at the front desk again, so I was unable to request assistance the non-working shower. The room also didn’t have any posting of important information, such as the wifi password, and I had to walk down three flights of stairs to get that. Holes and stains on the ceiling suggest there might be a mold issue.
