I have never stayed at a proper B&B before and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Not only was the house (and grounds) clean and well maintained, but Pam was extremely communicative from the moment I booked to the moment I arrived so she could prepare for my visit. She was accommodating, attentive and just lovely to be around. She provided good conversation and good recommendations for my visit. I highly recommend staying at the Butterhouse!

The property was beautiful, calm, and well situated near Trim. Pam and Maurice were very welcoming and nice. We had great conversations and felt at home. Bella and Lucy, the two dogs of the house, were adorable and made the stay even better.

Having to leave! One night in such a place was too short, we definitely will come back on our next trip to Ireland.

Pam and Morris are superb hosts. They made us feel right at home. The property is beautiful, and spotlessly clean. It is very close to Trim and an easy drive to see many area attractions. We also loved meeting Lucy, their dog. Pam has a wonderful continental breakfast for the guests each morning. I will be sure to recommend this place to all my friends.

Disfrutamos de una estadía fantástica en una casa hermosa. Pam es una excelente anfitriona. La habitación es muy agradable, tiene objetos y decoración que te hacen sentir que estas visitando familia. La cama muy cómoda, ducha caliente, todo muy limpio, ventanales que dan mucha luz a la casa. En general, muy acogedora. Es recomendable llegar con auto porque son varios minutos hasta el centro del pueblo por la ruta. El alrededor es muy tranquilo y se descansa muy bien. El desayuno tiene infusiones, cereal, frutas, huevos frescos, delicioso. Gracias Pam.

Gentilezza della proprietaria che ci ha dato una bellissima accoglienza e consigli di viaggio. Parcheggio disponibile gratuitamente e molto ampio. Colazione continentale, semplice ma molto buona (pane, yogurt, cereali, frutta fresca, the, caffè e bevande....)

Il livello complessivo di pulizia é molto buono. A un occhio critico e particolarmente attento risalta un po'di polvere e qualche ragnatela in bagno.

Butterhouse was perfect for our stay. It was like home from home and our Host could not have been more helpful. While very professional Pam was warm and welcoming. We looked forward to her delicious healthy breakfast each morning. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

It was very clean and beautiful

The moment we stepped in we were told water boiler is not working proper, paying huge n yet learning this was disappointing. There was no drinking water in the rooms, when my son tried to fill his water bottle while breakfast the landlord lady felt annoyed. Breakfast was just ok i dont need a supervisor on my head all the time while i m eating made me lil uncomfortable. The day of checkout , we were told to leave early coz its a bank holiday, however learnt later that was not the case. The place was beautifully set with nice clean bedding n all, but dont know why , i felt uncomfortable due to the loud attitude of host.

Very clean, great location but a little out of town so need a car. Lovely breakfast. Easy parking. Pam was very friendly and obliging, very helpful with suggesting places of interest and I felt welcomed. Shared bathroom didn’t present any problem, bath robes provided. Comfortable bed.

Extremely friendly hosts, that go the extra mile. Use of the garden in the evening was lovely. Breakfast was nice too. It’s very close to Trim castle, etc. The recommendation for the evening meal was spot on.

I would have preferred not to share a bathroom, but the bathroom was a great size and the shower was very good. It was only a couple of steps across the landing and lovely dressing gowns are provided.

Easy to come and go as needed

Pamela was very welcoming and friendly . Pamela offered transport if required from Butterhouse to our Wedding Hotel venue . A lovely breakfast with attention to detail was provided by our host on the morning we were departing from the accommodation. Pam offered guidance on sight-seeing opportunities in the local area.

We were happy with our stay at Butterhouse , nothing negative to report upon.

The host really made the stay very accommodating, very nice and made us extremely comfortable. Would definitely return and recommend

Hosts were amazing. Offered to bring us to the wedding we were attending locally. Even went out of their way to collect my brother at a different location & bring him too.

Would have loved a hot breakfast but the continental on offer was great too.

We had a wonderful stay at Butterhouse. It was incredibly cosy, peaceful, and the perfect place to switch off and relax. The location was fantastic, surrounded by beautiful countryside, making it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle. Pam is a wonderful host—so welcoming, kind, and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay and prepared a delicious breakfast in the morning, which was a lovely start to the day ❣️🌸 The property was also very easy to find, and all the information we needed was clearly provided by the host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Butterhouse to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable getaway.

Best B&B I ever stayed in. The accommodations are spectacular with beautiful views and in a nice quiet country setting and close to everything you need. Pam and her family were so gracious and super friendly, I think we have made a life long friend. She gave us hints where to visit: and, her breakfasts were outstanding. Location was perfect for a short drive to Dublin airport. Lovely continental style breakfast in the family kitchen which felt very homely. Pam and Maurice were really friendly and helpful hosts.

Would have liked a kettle and tea making facilities in the room. However, our hosts were happy for us to make a cup in their kitchen.

It was idyllic, beautiful, welcoming, relaxed, clean and comfortable, and the hosts Pam and Morris are as welcoming as family. They even gave us a lift into town on a few occasions. Breakfast was wonderful, with plump fruit, local bread and eggs - even the tea and coffee were excellent! It was like staying with family. We loved it. They have two gorgeous, sleepy dogs who are no bother and are very happy to be made a fuss of if that's your thing. A little bit of paradise.

Honestly would not change a thing. We were treated like honoured guests.

Such a lovely location, gracious hostess and comfortable suite. We could have lived on the patio and been happy. Pam’s cordiality and suggestions for area restaurants (Brogans!) and sights (Bective Abbey!) added a lot to our visit. Her breakfast was delicious too. As dog lovers, we appreciated Lucy and Bella tolerating our attention so well too. (But they are conscientious of non-dog lovers and don’t hold it against you.)

It is on a busy road so pulling in and out of the driveway was tricky.

The Butterhouse was lovely, convenient and so well appointed. Both Pam and Maurice were excellent hosts and the home and rooms were so cozy and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

The host was very responsive. We asked if she could leave us something to eat for breakfast as we were leaving before breakfast was typically served, we found yogurts and fresh cut berries in the fridge. That was above and beyond! The house, gardens and rooms were quite lovely and welcoming. It was a perfect place to stay after a day trip to Trim.

This is just a personal thing. I don't like having only a heavy comforter on the bed. I sleep hot and the comforter is far too warm, but simply sleeping in my tee shirt without any cover is too cool. Having something lighter would have made my sleep more comfortable. I kept waking to throw off the comforter, or to put it back on.In addition, the room's door was covered with a heavy curtain, and while it looked pretty, it let in the light from the hallway. Again, it's a me thing, I like a very dark bedroom.

Pam was great and very helpful, the breakfast was lovely. We were staying for a night only, we had a wedding nearby. This was perfect as it was just a few mins down the road, cheaper than other hotels. Friendly people, comfortable clean rooms. We didn't spend a lot of time there or in the area so hard to say much else besides we got great value and were very happy with the quality of our stay and the friendliness of everyone there.

The room was beautiful with attention to details. Pam is a lovely host and I really enjoyed to chat with her. A pity I could spend 1 night only!

This is the perfect place to stay either to visit local attractions (of which there are many) or as your first or last night before flying out of Dublin. It is a short drive to the airport and Trim is a really lovely town to spend a night near. Pam was a wonderful and warm host and the breakfast was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better last night in Ireland.

Pam is very communicative and happy to offer some fresh fruit and other offerings if you are departing before normal breakfast hours. Great country view of the back pasture. Their welcoming and beautiful home was a much improvement over staying the night previous in downtown Trim.

Full irish breakfast

Charming home with lovely bedrooms and a large kitchen; comfortably appointed. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the home was conveniently located to multiple attractions in Meath.

Loved the look of the whole house. Beautifully designed and decorated from hallway to room to kitchen and dinning room. Tidy, clean warm and cozy. The host were an absolute delight to interact with. Super friendly and polite. Very welcoming. Very accommodating and helpful in regards to my food intolerances for breakfast .

Did have a bit of trouble with shower. Only got Luke warm water when I took a shower when I turned hot to cold nozzle on side. Not sure if there was something wrong with shower or just had trouble figuring it out

Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin! Die Unterhaltung beim Frühstück war sehr nett und lustig. Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt. Das Zimmer war sehr schön - besonders die Wandfarbe hat uns gefallen 😉🙂.

Pam y su marido son una pareja acogedora y entrañable. Nos recibieron muy bien e incluso se prestaron para acercarnos hasta a Trim para los festejos del Púca Festival. Son muy majos sin duda. Las habitaciones son acogedoras y las camas confortables. El desayuno estuvo bien, tienes un poco de todo: cereales, leche, zumo de naranja, huevos cocidos, etc.

La única pega, por poner algo es que está algo apartado del pueblo de Trim, pero en coche son 10 minutos sólo. A parte de eso todo lo demás fue perfecto.

La habitación estaba limpia y el baño también, además tenía suelo radiante. Pam es estupenda, siempre muy atenta. Y Lucy nos ha robado el corazón ❤️

Die Besitzerin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben das Zimmer spät gebucht und kamen spät an, aber trotzdem wurden wir herzlich empfangen. Beim Frühstück war die Auswahl ausreichend.

La atención de Pam y su familia fue especial. Fue como estar en casa, muy calida la atencion de todos y de la casa. Luego todo lo demás impecable. habitaciones muy comodas, todas las areas muy limpias, mi desayuno fue bueno pero como tuve que irme muy temprano no pude contar con el desayuno completo, pero seguro es de primera. En resumen, un sitio ideal.

Pam was a wonderful host. Cows out back get milked twice daily and milk is locally used to produce ice cream or sold for local consumption.
