Primera tanda de lavandería gratis. Ubicación. Facilidad para check in. Camas muy grandes y cómodas. La terraza. Nos gustó mucho todo en general. 100% Recomendado.

Es algo muy pequeño. Pero de acuerdo a las normas de la casa, en caso de haber tenido que pedir toallas nuevas tendríamos que haber pagado.

Modern-ish, big rooms with a lot of space and storage. They offer to wash clothing and the first load is free, which is great and super handy, as well as other services we didn't use, but I imagine can be very handy for longer stays. There is a common area at the ground floor with coffee and water, where you can leave your suitcases if needed (even if unsupervised -- although someone from staff is always there during the day time). They allowed early check-in which was great. Location is 15 mins on foot from the city center, but the walk is down a busy road which seemed safe.

They have a floor standing aircon, which works, but isn't of the most powerful type.

Basic but so well done and has everything you need. Great complimentary services like coffee, biscuits and a laundry service. Lovely roof terrace to start your morning with a coffee overlooking Oaxaca central. Could not recommend enough.

Struttura super pulita e arredata con molto gusto. C’è tutto quello che serve e il proprietario è gentilissimo super presente anche se non fisicamente sul posto. Ha risposto velocemente a tutte le nostre richieste. Il servizio lavanderia gratuito è un plus! Ci tornerei senza dubbio!

Un filo meno centrale rispetto ad altri posti ma la camminata è piacevole e la zona è sicuramente più tranquilla perfetta per un sonno senza interruzioni

Lovely Casa that's very relaxed but very well kept. Good location was walking into town but out of the chaos! Rooms and bed were wonderful!

Great location to get to many places in the area. The place was very clean and modern. We were only a few blocks from our Mole cooking class and found a market within walking distance where the Mole class went to pick up things for the class.

I booked Casa 821 last minute and it was , perhaps, the best decision of my trip to do so. The guesthouse was just the tonic after a disappointing stay elsewhere in Oaxaca. The rooms had a good amount of space and were meticulously clean. The laundry service was superb: with my clothes coming back in better condition than I have seen them in a long time! The snack bar on the roof terrace was a really nice additional touch and a lovely place to chill in the evenings. Thank you Casa 821 for turning my Oaxaca experience around!

Sehr schöne Dachterasse. Problemloser Zugang mit guter Beschreibung im Vorhinein zur Unterkunft mit Schlüssel im Schlüsselkasten. Grosses und bequemes Bett. Wäscheservice verfügbar (den wir nicht genutzt haben) Snacks und Kühlschrank auf der Dachterasse waren sehr toll! Da wir am Abend einen Nachtbus nahmen, haben wir unser Gepäck in der Unterkunft gelassen (mit Schlüssel im Co-Work Space). Hat alles gut funktioniert. Danke!

Unterkunft liegt ein bisschen ausserhalb vom Zentrum. Es wäre sehr hilfreich, wenn die Türe zum WC auf der Dachterasse angeschrieben wäre. Weil wir haben das WC mehr durch Zufall entdeckt.

Very comfortable accommodation, especially the bed (spacious and soft)! Also very nice, large bathroom. The host was kind and responsive if we needed something. Glad we found this place! Also, if you are in for local food, we loved the food at El Shobe a few meters to the right if you walk out of the accommodation, highly recommended!

It’s outside the city center but easily walkable 10-15 min or 5 min by taxi!

We had a good stay overall and enjoyed our time at this accommodation. The room was clean, comfortable, and in a convenient location. The check-in process was easy, and the host was helpful whenever we had any questions. The apartment had everything we needed for a short stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we would recommend this place to others looking for a comfortable stay.

I had room 1 and I absolutely loved it. Super clean, lots of space, lovely design, love and attention to detail everywhere in the apartment, big windows and lots of natural light, a comfortable bed, relaxing rain shower and of course the free milk, cereals, coffee, tea, juice and cookies provided in the room. Also loved the rooftop terrace and the possibility to enjoy the calm evenings and look over the hills of Oaxaca.

El diseño del lugar, la limpieza y orden, los snacks y disponibilidad de agua, juegos de mesa y libros. La ubicación también es muy buena para visitar el centro y la plaza. Sin embargo, si es un poco lejos para ir a barrios cómo Jalatlaco o Xochimilco caminando.

Me habría gustado la disponibilidad de una cocina, pero igualmente estuvo bien.

Ruime kamer en fijn dakteras. De host antwoordde ook steeds heel snel en het was zeer proper.

Klein bed en onze kamer was nog al donker.

The property itself was lovely - very nice rooftop and the ammenties including laundry service and very responsive host was appreciated.

The room had no A/C so it was very very warm during the day and at night. We had to leave the windows open to try cool down the temperature and hence lots of mosquitoes & other ants came in. Was a difficult place to chill out due to the temperature and stuffy nature of the room. Was also at least a 20 minute walk to the centre of the town and to any bars/restaurants we wanted to go to.

The room is very nice

The house is amazing and with a beautiful terrace. Room is clean and everything is provided, even snacks/breakfast. There’s a beautiful terrace where we enjoyed our breakfasts.

Nothing, maybe just consider it is not in the city center but 15 mins walking distance from the zocalo so it was perfectly fine for us.

The location was not in the prettiest area and a bit far from the center. I did not like that we had only one shower towel per person. The room was really hot and there was no air conditioner.

Casa 821 tiene una muy buena ubicación. Caminando, en unos 15 minutos se llega al Zócalo, a la calle Alcalá y a muchos restaurantes, cafés y tiendas importantes del centro de Oaxaca. Está lo suficientemente cerca de todo, pero sin estar en medio del ruido más turístico. Además, incluso en la noche nos sentimos seguros caminando por la zona y la gente siempre fue muy amable. El edificio en sí está muy bonito. Se nota que fue renovado y el diseño se siente moderno, minimalista y con muy buen gusto. Tanto la arquitectura como la decoración están muy bien cuidadas, con colores agradables, plantas y una atmósfera tranquila y estética. Las áreas comunes también son un gran punto a favor. La cocina compartida, el espacio de trabajo, el refrigerador para los huéspedes y el café y jugos gratis hacen que la estancia sea más cómoda. Sin duda, lo mejor del lugar es la terraza. Especialmente la terraza de arriba tiene una vista increíble de Oaxaca y realmente hace que la experiencia sea más especial. Otro punto muy positivo es el servicio de lavandería. Al llegar o una vez durante la estancia se puede lavar ropa gratis, y los siguientes servicios cuestan solamente alrededor de 120 pesos. La verdad es un detalle muy útil y justo, especialmente para personas que están viajando por más tiempo. También queremos destacar a Andrea (“Andi”), quien siempre fue muy amable y atenta. Nosotros tuvimos un cambio de último momento con nuestra llegada y pudimos comunicarnos fácilmente con ella para encontrar una solución. La comunicación fue muy buena y siempre mostró disposición para ayudar. Las habitaciones son sencillas y minimalistas, pero bonitas y funcionales. El baño también se ve bien y los productos de cuidado personal que ofrecen son buenos.

El principal problema para nosotros fue la temperatura del cuarto (habitación #3). El espacio se calentaba muchísimo, especialmente durante la noche. Aunque hay ventilador, realmente no era suficiente para esos días de calor. Varias noches tuvimos que bañarnos con agua fría antes de dormir porque si no era muy difícil descansar bien. Creemos que un aire acondicionado o una mejor ventilación harían una diferencia enorme. Además, las ventanas no aíslan mucho el ruido. Entendemos perfectamente que al estar cerca del centro siempre habrá algo de ruido, pero sí se escuchan bastante los coches, los perros y sonidos de la calle. Por el tipo de renovación y estética del lugar, esperábamos un poco mejor aislamiento. Otro punto importante fue el olor del baño. Después de bañarse, y a veces incluso durante el día, salía un olor desagradable como a drenaje o humedad. Si no dejábamos la puerta y la ventana abiertas durante bastante tiempo, el olor terminaba entrando al cuarto, lo cual sí fue incómodo. Definitivamente sería bueno revisar eso. Aunque por el precio uno entiende que habrá ciertos compromisos, creemos que el descanso y la comodidad siguen siendo aspectos muy importantes en cualquier hospedaje. Y justamente porque el lugar visualmente y conceptualmente se siente casi como un pequeño hotel boutique, automáticamente las expectativas sobre confort, temperatura y aislamiento suben un poco más. Si mejoraran esos puntos, Casa 821 podría ser una experiencia muchísimo más completa.

The pictures were accurate. The room was spacious and clean with a great shower and a fan provided. The roof terrace was a fantastic addition. It was quiet even though we were on the ground floor and we used the laundry service they provided.

It is a little walk out of town but we did not mind that.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Isla Mujeres grâce à l’hospitalité d’Andrea, ses excellentes adresses et sa disponibilité. Villa Alkimia est idéalement située à Playa Norte : à seulement 2‑3 minutes à pied de la plage et de nombreux restaurants, tout en étant nichée dans une rue très calme. Les chambres sont impeccables, parfaitement équipées, et le personnel se distingue par sa gentillesse et son extrême disponibilité. Andrea a été un hôte d’exception et a donné une toute autre dimension à notre séjour. Dès la réservation, il a pris contact avec nous avec beaucoup de sympathie pour préparer notre arrivée. Sur place, il s’est montré attentif et disponible, répondant à chacune de nos demandes avec efficacité. Il nous a également partagé d’excellentes adresses sur toute l’île, qui ont enrichi notre expérience et nous ont permis de découvrir Isla Mujeres sous un angle différent. Andrea n’est pas seulement le propriétaire de la villa : il prend véritablement à cœur d’accueillir ses hôtes pour qu’ils s’y sentent comme chez eux. Encore mille mercis Andrea ! Grâce à toi, notre séjour a eu une dimension unique et nous espérons revenir très bientôt.

I liked the clean, comfortable & minimalist design of the room. Nice big bathroom & shower area. The bed is amazing & super big & comfy!

Lovely accommodation, clean and comfortable. Lovely roof terrace with some tea , coffee , fruit drinks.

Host was really helpful and patient.

In hindsight we would have liked to stay a little bit closer to the center of Oaxaca. The hotel is located on the edge of the center and we didnt feel comfortable enough to walk back to the hotel in the dark. This is our own preference and has nothing to do with the hotel itself, people staying there or staff.

Limpio, agradable, con todo lo que necesitas para pasar unos días estupendos en Oaxaca. Andy está atenta de todo y te hace sentir como en casa. Hemos disfrutado y descansado mucho. Volveremos!

Por decir algo me hubiera gustado que estuviera más en el centro, pero realmente no estaba mal ubicado.

Todo increible, el staff muy amable, el cuarto lindo y el servicio gratis de lavanderia es una joya! la terraza super linda y con alimentos complementarios como cereal, frutas y snacks. Son unos 15 minutos caminando desde el centro, 5min en coche. Regresaria sin duda

le doy 4 estrellas porque el baño de mi habitacion tenia mal olor (me dijeron que habia surgido ese problema recientemente y lo repararian en unos dias) pero fuera de eso todo perfecto

The location is close to the centre, but the road gets a little bit quiet on the final stretch, however taxis are cheap if this is a concern.

Fantastic place to stay in Oaxaca. Easy walk to the zocalo and all the main attractions in centro. Lovely apartments with rooftop terrace. Well equipped with shared kitchen area, we also had our own kitchen in the 1 bedroom apartment that also had 2 terraces. Great for coffee, breakfast and chilling out after walking around centro. Lovely and quiet at night.

Perfect stay! Spacious room, easy communication, free snacks & laundry service. There is no staff onsite, however, Andy is always available via messaging. It was very clean and quiet. We absolutely loved our stay. Location is on a 10 minute walk from the city centre, but it wasn't an issue for us at all, even at night - we walked to our accommodation from different areas of (central) Oaxaca. It was safe, with lots of great eateries nearby! Highly recommend this place.

This is one of our favourite places we’ve stayed! The rooms were clean, stylish, and very comfortable. We loved the beautiful balcony with views of the city. The snacks and coffee were such a nice touch, and we appreciated the complimentary laundry. There are cafes round the corner for breakfast (we loved Cafe Local), and it’s a short walk into town. The host was very responsive and helpful, and at the same time you felt independent with your own space.

Die Lage ist nicht direkt zentral im spannenden Teil von Oaxaca aber in 15 Minuten ist man überall hingelaufen.

Comfortable well appointed rooms and a spectacular 2-level rooftop deck with city and Mountain Views. Basic kitchen facilities are provided so you can prepare breakfast or lunch with the inexpensive fresh produce available throughout the city. Exceptionally clean and well cared for. Helpful staff

For those with limited mobility the location a few blocks south of the posher areas of the busy Bustamante street could be a downside but we always enjoyed the walk

The decor was very tasteful, clean and modern. The property is beautiful.

Everything! Nice room, clean towels every day. The roof top is amazing and what a treat with snacks, coffee and tea. All the small details such as a small basket with necessities, laundry service, books etc. We had a question regarding very early check out and sent a message rather late in the evening. We immediately got a very nice answer, which really is good service.

Just a little obs: If you arrive after dark, don’t be put off by what might seem to be a longish walk to the center zocalo. It only takes 15 minutes and you pass a lot of shops on the way, so you quickly get used to the short walk and we felt perfectly safe also after dark.

The cleanliness, the staff (Vero), the location, the safety

My stay at Casa 821 was exceptionally great, however the ONLY thing I can say negatively was the loud noises in the middle of the night. There are dogs that howl for hours in the early hours of the morning (but thats almost impossible to control since I hear this sound almost everywhere I go in South America), but there was a neighbour living in a very close building to the bCasa 821 who played EXTREMELY LOUD spanish music at exactly 5:40am for 30-40 minutes. After that it was impossible to fall back asleep.

Il posto è bellissimo e la nostra stanza al primo piano aveva tutto il necessario, oltre a un bellissimo piccolo patio interno. Il letto era comodo e sia la stanza che l’intera struttura erano molto puliti. Si trova vicino al centro, a soli 15 minuti a piedi dallo Zócalo, e la sera è stato tranquillo tornare a piedi. Tutte le istruzioni per il check-in e il check-out erano chiarissime e la comunicazione con l’host è stata molto facile. Un punto molto positivo è stato il primo lavaggio dei vestiti gratuito.

Comfortable and clean guest house near the city center of Oaxaca. Quick communication with the host when needed. Comfortabele bed, good shower and one free load of laundry! And an added bonus: amazing rooftop terrace with water and snacks.

Great location for short walk into Oaxaca Centre (north) and picking up public transportation / colectivos / taxis on main road (south). Free laundry service very useful. Always felt safe in and around the apartment (and in Oaxaca in general). Small issue with ants but Andy was very responsive to help and in general very helpful with questions/logistics, which was much appreciated. Nice rooftop area and food/water provided was great to have (particularly arriving late as things in Oaxaca close early).

Super clean, really comfortable bed and complimentary laundry service for your first wash was a lovely touch. The location was a 15 minute walk away from the centre which was perfect for us. The area was nice and quiet at night but still felt very safe walking back even late on as you are along a main road. The host was extremely kind and friendly especially when we had a little panic at getting an earthquake alert through on our phones at 1 in the morning.

The only issue we had was finding somewhere comfortable to relax in the afternoons after long mornings exploring Oaxaca. The chairs in the room looked very stylish but were not very comfortable to actually sit on and the same with the seating on the balcony. A really minor thing which is just personal preference but we don’t like sitting / relaxing on the bed. Still wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Las instalaciones son increíbles , todo está muy limpio. La zona de la terraza y la barra con snacks, café y agua se agradecen mucho. El servicio que ofrecen de lavandería sin duda es lo mejor.

Super well organized, clean and comfortable and a complementary laundry service! Convenient location and quiet. Free snacks and a communal kitchen. This was our third time back to this place and we’ll come again!
