Absolutely fantastic laid back, engulfed in nature resort. The best service we have ever received in all our travels, and we have traveled around the globe quite a bit. The entire team, from the minute we arrived, exhorted an immense amount of hospitality, kindness and professionalism. All was done and beyond to make our stay fabulous. The food was delicious with many many options. The drinks fantastic. The villas were serviced twice a day impeccably. The island hopping excursion was a great beautiful experience. The natural setting is unbeatable. Nature at it’s very best. But above it all - the service and hospitality. Attending to all our needs, accommodating all our requests. All with genuine kindness. We shall definitely recommend this paradise to our friends and family. Thank you very much, all the team, from the bottom of our hearts.

Cauayan Island Resort Philippines July 2026 Another great vacation in the books! This year we ventured out to the Phillipines and spent 9 wonderful days at Cauayan Island Resort in Palawan off the coast of ElNido. This beautiful island had the most wonderful people who helped us create memories that will last a lifetime. We took a calm boat ride from ElNido to the resort. We were greeted by Vincent our island host and Salil the island manager who made sure that we had everything we needed everyday and helped in planning our perfect trip. They were kind, helpful and taught us so much about the island and the surrounding sights. Our room was absolutely stunning and the views would take your breath away. We stayed in the sunrise suite. We loved sitting by the pool every morning just taking in all the views before breakfast. Every morning we headed to the restaurant to have breakfast, which was by the main pool and the beach. Nick and RJ made sure that we were all set up by the pool and beach every morning and checked on us throughout the day. The staff was always very attentive making sure we always had water, whatever drinks or food we wanted as well as clean, dry towels. The bartenders Red and JL made very tasty drinks and always using fresh juice that was available. The mango drinks were our favorite! Chef Paul Bautista created wonderful meals from breakfast to dinner. He made sure that it was cooked exactly how we liked it. There were so many different things to choose from. The pasteries as the meals were not only delicious, but baked fresh every day. This resort was a perfect place to lay back, relax, swim as well as enjoy the daily snorkeling, food, drinks and to take is the sun. It is clean, organized, secluded, quiet and peaceful. If this is what you are looking for, Cauayan is definitely the place for you. If staying on the island is not enough there are excursions that you can go on. We went on two. We took a boat the the main island of El Nido to walk around and go shopping, Gabriel came with us. He took us to the best shops to buy t-shirts, bracelets, etc. He was so extremely kind and patient. He helped us find exactly what we needed and made sure we caught the boat back to Cauayan right on time. The other excursion, which was our absolute favorite, was going Island Hopping. You can choose between a group or private experience. We chose to do the private tour from 8am-4pm on a stunning boat and had a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Bautista. The excursion was filled with some of the most breathtaking views that we have ever seen. The experience was far beyond our expectations. The pictures and videos online do not capture these views at all. The snorkeling was amazing and has been the best experience that I have ever had, all because of Joar, who stayed with us and helped me get over my fear with his patience. He pulled me around as my family swam with us. He made me feel very safe, which helped my family and I focus more on the beauty of this experience. Captain Jack helped my daughter overcome her fear of being on a boat, as well. Besides Joar and Captain Dave, Remar and Captain Jack also helped make this experience perfect. On the island throughout the week I also did a couple of spa packages by myself and one with my daughter. Mary Grace and Beverly were amazing as well as the other girls that worked there. The spa was clean and had a beautiful and peaceful view which helped in the relaxation process. Jovelyn, the spa manager and Krem helped put our spa packages together and made sure that all our needs were met. If you are planning on celebrating anything while on the island Alwin, the event specialist does a phenomenal job putting together any event that you would like. He takes pride in his job. He makes sure it is beautiful and just perfect from beginning to end. He is patient and talented. I would definitely recommend dinner on the beach at least one night during your stay We had such a wonderful experience at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner during our island vacation, and a big part of that was our waitress Liza as all of the others that work there. They were warm, friendly, and attentive from the moment we arrived. They made us feel welcome, offered great recommendations, and always checked in at just the right times without being intrusive. Their positive attitudes and genuine hospitality made our meal even more enjoyable. The outstanding service throughout this resort is what makes this place truly memorable. Thank you Salil and everyone for helping make our vacation so memorable. You have all gone above and beyond to make it perfect. We would definitely return and highly recommend Cauayan Island Resort!

I enjoyed my stay at Cauayan. I enjoyed the food, and the employees were very nice! The resort was very clean, but the only thing I would complain about are the bugs. There are bugs in the sand, but that did not ruin my experience. It was very peaceful, and the only thing you could hear were the sounds of the other customers. The rooms were very neat and luxurious. The location was absolutely beautiful and the baby sharks near the spa were very cute! I reccomend this resort!

2nd time is a charm. This place is first on my list whenever I go to El Nido. The view is serene. Room are Amazing. The beach front villa is spot on. Food are excellent and staff are exceptional.

This hotel is absolutely amazing, probably one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in the Philippines, if not the very best. The rooms are beautiful, with a classic Asian style, and they are incredibly spacious. The bathroom is outstanding, featuring both an outdoor shower and an indoor shower with three different water settings. The bed and pillows are perfect—I honestly had some of the best nights’ sleep here. The service from the entire hotel staff is exceptional. Everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always makes sure you have everything you need. The spa is incredible. We were lucky enough to see baby reef sharks while enjoying our massage, which made the experience even more unique and unforgettable. As for the restaurant, every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The breakfast, which is included with the room, is outstanding, offering both an extensive buffet and an à la carte menu cooked to order. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and one that I would highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

We went on a double date couples trip and stayed in the beach front villas at this resort! This was our first of three stays while in the Philippines, and Cauayan was hands down the best one out of them all! Top tier service and hospitality! Food was great, but the breakfast buffet was phenomenal! All of the staff members were absolutely amazing and every single person there contributed to making sure we had the best experience! The tours offered at this resort are all so much fun and even more beautiful! I would highly highly highly reccoment staying here if or when you are in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines! Honestly this was the best all inclusive resort stay I have ever experienced!

We loved the activities, hospitality, food and drinks, the attentiveness of the staff, and the privacy the island offered. Special mention to the island hopping crew (Sir Allan, Arnel, etc.) for being the best.

The flies in the restaurant were inconvenient and unsanitary, the trek up to the pool villas was especially tiring after a day of activities and for our senior citizens.

We treated ourselves to an island stay just after arriving in El Nido. . The boat trip from El Nido port took 20 mins on a fast little speedboat. As you arrive towards the island you’re immediately impressed, then the resort comes into view & wow, it looks amazing. We knew we were in for a treat & a relaxing time. Greeted by the staff when we got off the boat & shown to the lobby to check-in. Lovely sea shell pendants draped over our heads with the Cauayan Resort name…nice touch. Shown to our beach front villa where all the facilities & activities were explained. The villa is just a very short walk to the sea… Chance to settle in before exploring the resort. Very tasty pizza & calamari on the beach on our sun beds directly in front of our villa 🏖️ Early evening we went for a walk over the small hill to the other side of the island. The staff by this pier were friendly & explained where to swim & snorkel & what we may be able to see. We just chilled in the room for the evening planning for the next day… A good nights sleep, good selection of foods available for breakfast gave us an ideal start to the day. Snorkelling time…face masks, snorkels & fins are available from their activity centre FOC. There were plenty of fish to see around the coral the sea was quite clear. After an hour we decided to rest only to find out another couple had spotted a turtle only a short swim away…bucket list ticked, seeing & swimming near a turtle! The evening was spent on a sunset cruise, canapés & sparking wine served. Also on the cruise we met Emile, the owner of the island & his friends, we enjoyed chatting to Emile & hearing about the history of Cauayan resort. Very comfortable boat, ideal for watching the sunset. The rest of the time at the resort we enjoyed the very relaxing vibe, chatting to other guests & enjoying the food, the beach, the sea & the sea water infinitely pool. There’s plenty of activities available to keep those more active that are all mentioned on their website. I could write a lot more, the vibe & facilities are fabulous & should definitely be on a visit list.

Located on a private island, the boat trip was around 20 mins on a small fast speedboat. The arrival is impressive, lovely welcome to the resort by the staff. We were draped with a pendant of the resort, very nice keepsake. Everything looks very clean & tidy, beach has been swept & cleaned, sun beds nicely presented. Our Beach Front Villa looks amazing, member of staff showed us around & fully explained everything. Facilities & Activities are fully explained on their website so we knew we were in for a treat. The bay where you can snorkel has plenty of fish, turtles & small black finned sharks are sometimes there to be seen. We initially didn't see a turtle, then someone shouted that there is a turtle swimming nearby...after a short swim we were able to see the turtle gliding through the sea...amazing, my wife Hersely just loved this! The food, atmosphere is fantastic very relaxing vibe. We enjoyed casually chatting to other couples there from different parts of the world. The sunset cruise on a very comfortable boat was wonderful, canapes & sparking wine made the cruise very memorable. The owner Emile was also on the cruise with his friends, very friendly guy, we enjoyed chatting to him about Cauayan & its history. 3 nights 4 days of enjoyment, relaxing & recharging a very worthwhile visit indeed.

The location was beautiful beyond all expectations ! The atmosphere was tropical paradise. The rooms were clean, spacious and inviting. The services were beyond accomodating, with professional, kind, friendly and welcoming staff. Service beyond all expectations! The amenities were countless. We WILL be coming back! I feel that no other organization in the service and hospitality industry will ever top what Cauayan Island Resort had to offer! Literally service beyond imagination!!

THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!!! Such a kind and amazing service, beautiful beautiful beach and property, definitely will go back there!!!! All the food we ate there was amazingly delicious.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cauayan Island Resort 🫶🏼 It exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were some of the kindest, most attentive, and genuinely welcoming people we’ve ever met. We especially loved Karl, who surprised my husband with dinner each night, Nick, Red, and James, who always made sure our glasses were full, and Ramar, who guided us through an incredible island hopping day, sunrise hike, and beautiful sunset cruise. 🧡 Our beachfront villa was perfect, complete with a private cabana and lounge chairs right on the beach that we used every day. The resort itself is stunning and offers so many activities — snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and an amazing spa. The pool, food, and bar were all exceptional as well. This is easily one of our favorite resorts we’ve ever stayed at, and we’re already dreaming of coming back. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience!

Absolutely stunning resort, the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. We stayed in a beachfront villa which was superb - own sunbeds and thatched parasol allocated to the villa so no worries about finding a place to sit st anytime of the day. As the sunbeds were allocated to the beachfront villas, at times we had the entire beach to ourselves ( if relaxing on the beach is important to you then I would advise choosing a beachfront villa as otherwise you will need to relax by the pool which again is stunning). The villa was spacious and the air conditioning was excellent and privacy glass was a thoughtful touch. The food was excellent and there was a good range of options. Nice to have a separate bar area to relax in and enjoy a cocktail or an iced coffee. We went scuba diving on 2 days and did a private half day boat tour on another day. Jeremiah took great care of us when diving and we really enjoyed diving outside the resort as the reefs were full of life. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer guy to take us diving! Norihen ( apologies if spelt wrong) came up with a great tour schedule for our half day trip and we really appreciated him taking the time to take some great photos! Apart from the stunning location what really sets this resort apart is the staff. The level of professionalism is exemplary and they anticipate your every need. Apologies for not remembering everyone but a big thank you to Pearl,JC , JL. Red, Captain Ian and Captain Jeff as well as Jeremiah and Norihen. I can honestly say that all the staff were top class and this is what makes Cauayan a 5 star resort.

Magical, immaculately appointed, absolutely gorgeous and comfortable

The gift shop didn’t have many souvenirs, and it would’ve been nice to buy them there. As another option, it would be nice if we were allowed 30 minutes to shop for souvenirs in town after arrival or before departure. I wonder if it would be possible to get a ride into town on one of the boats going back and forth to town for souvenir shopping.

We stayed here for 4 nights as the final stop of a birthday trip my partner surprised me with for my 30th. The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and a lovely place to relax. Unfortunately on day 3 my partner became quite unwell with what seemed like a stomach bug, which was a shame and not how we expected to end the trip. While there was a slight miscommunication at first, the staff and management were genuinely caring and attentive afterwards. They regularly checked in on us, helped arrange medication, and the executive chef even prepared specific food to help with recovery, which we really appreciated. Big shoutout to Red at the bar, who was always so friendly and welcoming. The drinks were great too. The food overall was okay but nothing particularly memorable. One thing I would suggest improving is covering the fruit and pastries at breakfast, as there were quite a lot of flies around. The rooms also didn’t always feel exceptionally sealed/clean as mosquitoes could get in quite easily. Overall, despite the unfortunate ending to our stay, the staff really did their best to look after us and made a difficult situation much easier.

רמה גבוהה מאוד של אירוח ושירות! הזמנו את החדר על המים והייתה חוויה מצויינת, חדר ענקי, אמבטיה, מקלחת חוץ, מעוצב מהממם, נקי מאוד! החדר היה על המים אבל לא הפריע לנו לישון! יש בריכת אינפיניטי מהממת ונקייה, חוף (לא הכי מזמין בגלל האצות) והספא מושלם! חייב חייב חייב לסגור טיפול בספא שלהם! חוויה מיוחדת ממש ושווה כול פזו! הכול היה סופר נקי ומסודר, קיבלנו משקאות ומגבת קרה בכניסה! צוות מעולה, מסביר פנים, אדיב ושירותי ביותר שתמיד שם כדי לעזור עם חיוך!

השהייה במלון מחייבת לאכול במסעדה כול הזמן, ידענו שהמחירים יקרים אבל לא הבנו עד כמה יקר. יש להם אופציה של להוסיף אוכל בתוכנית של הכול כלול אבל זה שווה רק אם נשארים יום שלם שם. הארוחת בוקר סבירה, לא הכי עשירה שיש והכי עיצבן שהיינו צריכים לשלם על מים מפולטרים שלהם! לא בקבוק חדש אלא ״מי הבית״ כמו שהם קוראים להם… ולא לשכוח שעל כול מחיר של אוכל צריך להוסיף מיסים מה שהפך את כול החשבונות ליקרים מאוד! יצא מצב שהוספנו 2,000 שח! רק על אוכל, ואנחנו לא מהמתפנקים בכלל באוכל…

What wasn’t there to like?? It is an amazing island resort. The fact that it faces west and east allows for mini adventures in between soaking up the wonderful atmosphere and sun. The staff was top-notch and food was very good. Big shout out to the following staff members : Clent, Kim, Red, Cristian, Mark, Nick, Red, Joy, Danica, Armand, Hamid, Vincent, Raymond, Arvin, Mike !!!

Our beach bungalow was peaceful and private, with gorgeous views that made it very easy to unwind. We also loved the resort’s sustainable gardens, which added a beautiful, thoughtful touch and highlighted the care taken to work with the environment. There is a lovely balance of activity and relaxation here. The island hopping and snorkelling were fantastic, and a real highlight for us was the night dive — such a different and peaceful underwater world, and a really special addition to our stay. We were also touched by a belated birthday cake, which was such a kind and unexpected gesture and made the celebration feel like it continued just that little bit longer. I felt like I had arrived on a Bond film set. An absolutely fabulous location. The beach front villa was perfect, very clean, with all the facilities you need. The staff were polite and helpful. The food was great and they were able to cater for special diets. We enjoyed snorkelling on the house reef, seeing turtles and baby sharks. A truly wonderful, peaceful location with stunning views. I would throughly recommend this resort.

Absolutely stunning location and when you arrive it feels like you might be on a James Bond island. Beautiful accommodation and staff are always helpful and friendly. The house reefs have vibrant coral from where we saw huge turtles and some small baby black tip reef sharks. I have coeliac disease and the restaurant had numerous options for me on the menu. Just a brilliant place.

I travelled here alone to celebrate my 50th bday. It was like a dream, from the food to the staff, I dint want it to end. I can't rate this place enough. Gorgeous beach front room, barefoot luxury.

The Cauayan Resort is an absolutely stunning place to stay! My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there and the weather was perfect in early February. The staff and tour guides were so friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. We took advantage of many activities, the wonderful spa, drinking cocktails poolside… wish we could have stayed longer!

We’ve just returned from a week at Cauayan Island Resort and can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. What an incredible place. The setting alone is breathtaking, crystal-clear water, dramatic limestone cliffs and lush greenery surrounding a truly idyllic island. The resort itself blends beautifully into the landscape and feels both luxurious and completely peaceful. The villas are stunning, private, spacious and thoughtfully designed, with incredible views and everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Waking up each morning in such a tranquil setting felt very special. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Every meal was beautifully prepared, full of flavour and variety. Dining in that setting made it even more special. What truly makes the experience, though, is the service from their amazing team. It is warm, genuine and effortlessly attentive and hard working. Every detail feels carefully considered, so you can enjoy the island to its best. The activities team and boat excursions we're fantastic and we loved the opportunity to see more of the amazing islands surrounding Cauayan. If you’re considering staying here, it is a truly special place that combines natural beauty, exceptional villas, incredible food and world-class service. We left feeling grateful to have experienced it and would absolutely love to return.

Our stay at Cauayan Boutique Resort was the perfect final chapter to our two-week honeymoon. After an incredible trip, arriving here felt exactly like what we needed—serene, calm, and effortlessly beautiful. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere allowed us to truly slow down and soak in every moment together. The views were absolutely immaculate. Waking up each day surrounded by such natural beauty felt surreal, and the peaceful setting made it easy to fully relax and enjoy the experience. What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, were the people. The staff were the icing on the cake - warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. We wish we could name everyone because every single person we encountered was friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about making guests feel special. Every experience the resort arranged for us was beyond memorable. Our spa day was incredibly relaxing, the island hopping adventure was stunning, and the scuba diving was a highlight we’ll never forget. Everything was organized seamlessly and felt thoughtful and personal. Cauayan Boutique Resort gave us the most beautiful ending to our honeymoon, and we’re so grateful for the memories we made there. We already hope to return someday.

Quite literally everything. The grounds were a dream and exotic and immaculate. Private and intimate and the service was five star through and through. I cannot say enough. Not even sure where to begin. Literally worth coming here just as destination instead of Fiji or Bora Bora. People need to see this. Th Philippines and more specifically their islands are dramatic, exotic and breathtaking. More so than Thailand. The problem was that I went from this resort which was beyond a class act, to a more run down property in Coron that was not maintained and not elegant and not much cheaper, lol. I was spoiled.

Had a lovely, relaxed, 4 night stay after travelling round The Philippines . We stayed in one of their beautiful beachfront villas on the all inclusive package . The villa was gorgeous, very comfy and spacious, with the handy veranda and allocated sunbeads on the beach. The view from the villa is stunning, and gives such a peaceful vibe . After much travelling, just staying put and doing nothing was the perfect finish to our holiday before flying home to the uk ( via Singapore). All the food was lovely, great, varied menu , food for every pallet included. the cocktails were second to none, made perfectly with every attention to detail . Have to give the bar staff a particular shout out, namely Red, Kristian , James and Nick who all spoilt us and were very friendly. All staff, to be fair were lovely , the restaurant staff were warm and friendly and very good . I can't remember all their names but big thanks to them all - Have to mention Kim who was just so sweet and funny, very smiley and worked hard to give her best service. If you want luxury, peace, amazing food , drinks and service, make a point of including Cauayan Boutique Hotel El Nido in your plans, you won't be disappointed. Tip... If you want to snorkel, take yourself over to the back of the hotel by the arrival jetty for an amazing experience - there's not much to see on the beachside and it's very shallow that side. There are staff over there who can assist you and you can hire equipment from the resort too.

Secluded haven close to El Nido. Top notch facilities immersed in beautiful nature but the real highlight are the staff who are courteous, helpful and so friendly.

The promoted full board or all-inclusive menus might not be worth it unless you are a heavy eater/ drinker. Just going for a la carte might be more sensible.

Our stay at Cauayan Island Resort in El Nido was truly a plush and memorable experience. The resort is located on a private island, and you reach it via a speedboat transfer organized by the hotel — a beautiful and seamless start to the experience that instantly makes the stay feel exclusive. The property itself is luxurious, expansive, and surrounded by stunning natural beauty. We stayed in an incredible villa with two separate rooms, a private pool, and a spacious deck, offering both privacy and breathtaking views. The island is large and perfect to explore at leisure. Do make sure to try the water activities — they are a highlight and really enhance the overall experience. While the stay felt premium overall, the breakfast was quite ordinary considering the price you pay and could be improved to match the luxury standards of the resort. That said, the villas, privacy, and unique island setting make this a truly special getaway and well worth experiencing.

The hands-down highlight of our 3 week honeymoon all over Southeast Asia. Everything about this resort, the service, people, cocktails, food, and rooms were spectacular. The staff was so kind and attentive in every way. Special shoutout to Red and Nick at the bar and the entire outrigger boat crew for making our trip so much fun. Every meal we had here was absolutely fantastic which can make or break staying on a private island with no where else to eat. There were a huge variety of options so we never felt bored of the food. Thank you Cauayan for the trip of a lifetime, we hope to return someday.

We arrived around noon and had a transfer waiting for us. Unfortunately our luggage did not arrive and we had to continue to the resort without it. The ride is around 20 min plus followed by an exciting boat ride that is also around 20 min to the island. The Cauayan Resort is a beautiful hotel nestled in a secluded cove, occupying its own private island. The first view gave the image of a peaceful and exclusive atmosphere. We received a very warm welcome on arrival, informed about the premises and activities and were shown to our water villa. The views were spectacular — cliffs to the front, open sea to the right, and the beach and resort to the left. The villa itself was spacious, very clean, with a beautiful wooden design blending well with the surrounding greenery and water.Breakfast, lunch and dinner were very delicious, and the staff were genuinely friendly, attentive and always helpful with advice on activities etc.Wifi connectivity at the resort was also very good throughout the area. The island hopping tour with Captain Jerry and Errol was an experience for sure. It was relaxed, fun and we enjoyed it in a fantastic large boat. The spa was beautifully designed, with a glass floor below the massage table where we could see the water and baby sharks swimming below. The sunset hike was also nice, with amazing views of the island and resort. All communication was handled via WhatsApp and we got quick and helpful responses in a matter of minutes. The bar, pool, lounge and dining areas are comfortable and well designed with great views. A special thank you to Marina for all the information, help and organisation. It was an amazing stay!

Highly recommend Cauayan Island Resort if you are looking for a private and quiet resort which caters for all your needs. The food was fantastic, the staff where very friendly and accommodating, nice private rooms, everything was perfect.

This has been our favourite hotel on our tour of the Philippines. Really special, quiet place with attentive staff and wonderful setting. Yes, as other reviewers have said the clamber from the arrival pontoon to the ladder is interesting, but it's not that big a drama. The steps to the top and then down the other side are well maintained and also fine. Our beach view room was gorgeous and I just felt a wonderful sense of calm being here. The food on the island is good quality with huge portions. Others have said it's too expensive. I would say the price is where I would expect for a good restaurant, especially so remote. We shared things like a club sandwich at lunch which was more than enough. The gym was nice and has a reformer platform for pilates if that's your thing. Please could you get a few yoga mats? I was fairly sure the website advertised yoga but there was none on whilst we were there. Pool lovely. All in all a lovely stay and our favourite hotel in our trip. Kudos also because it felt that you weren't running the place at minimum staffing. So staff seemed pretty relaxed and happy to spend time chatting to guests.

The island is beautiful and quite dramatic and more than exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing and bent over backwards to accommodate and serve. The food also exceeded our expectations and the bar cocktails were excellent. Shout out to the bar manager for being attentive and making killer cocktails. We enjoyed our small group private island tour and really enjoyed our spa treatments looking down at baby sharks. The beach is lovely, grab free water shoes to swim or snorkel gear if you need them, you're in reef country after all. We saw baby sharks, turtles and lots of reef critters right off the beach. Some reviewers have complained about value, compared Cuayan to 5 star resorts in more developed regions of the world, or complained about getting on and off the island. This is an island operation with solar and generator power and shipping in everything by boat, the cost is understandable. And sure there are 5 star lux resorts with fancier modern facilities because they have better access to infrastructure. That misses the point of this resort. Its charm is the island and people and more island/rustic luxury experience. And seasonal swells (and a currently damaged dock from the Nov typhoon) makes getting on and off the boats an adventure, but we loved that part but can understand that might be a worry for older guests or those with mobility issues. Not to worry, the team has you taken care of! As a couple in our 50's we'd be back in a heartbeat.

They do offer a few all inclusive meal and drink plans. For us the math didn't work so we paid a la carte. Perhaps the resort can rethink the options to improve the take rate. Along those lines, the food is genuinely great (the burger blew me away!) but portions like appetizers are big and roughly the same price as main courses which means its hard to eat an entree, main, plus dessert for lunch and dinner on the plan. They might want to offer half size and half price entree/appetizers for a bit more flexibility for their plans and for a la carte. but overall this isn't a complaint we were happy going a la carte and enjoyed almost every single dish. And again, they have to bring everything by boat and the selection and quality was impressive considering that.

We had an incredible stay at Cauayan, and would eagerly recommend the resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful stay in El Nido! Location: The resort is located on its own private island, and it is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever seen. It does require a 20 minute van transfer from the airport, as well as a 20 minute boat ride from El Nido proper, but the resort handled both of these experiences and made them incredibly smooth. I will note that the location is definitely not accessible, as it requires guests to get on/off of a motor boat, climb stairs, and enter the resort via a platform on the water. Rooms: We stayed in a beach view villa, and we enjoyed an incredible view of the beach as well as close proximity to the pool/bar/restaurant. I especially loved that all the villas came equipped with an outdoor shower and a rack for guests to hang wet clothes that was secluded from view. We also had a nice couch on the front porch of our villa, which was perfect for relaxing outside in a quiet and private manner. Activities/Amenities: This resort strikes the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. We took advantage of the package that included a massage at the spa, scuba diving, and an island hopping tour. - The spa experience at Cauayan should not be missed - the masseuses are talented, and there is nothing cooler than watching sharks swim around underneath you while getting your massage. - My partner and I did not end up doing very well with scuba diving, but our instructor Jeremiah was knowledgeable and patient with us. - We had a full-day guided island hopping tour with our guides Gani and Norian, and it was probably our favorite day of the trip! Incredibly worth it - our tour included Secret Lagoon, snorkeling at Shimizu Island, walking the sandbar and having lunch at Snake Island, and kayaking at Cadlao Lagoon. - We also participated in the sunset trek at the resort (see the view in the included photo), but I will warn that despite being a short trek the trail is very steep!! Food: The food was excellent, and we especially loved the breakfast bar spread every morning. I encourage other guests to try the Filipino options on the menu, and eat as much mango as you possibly can! Service: Saving the best for last! Everyone at Cauayan was incredibly kind and attentive, and seemed very excited to help us have the vacation of our dreams. Throughout our stay a few staff members would even refer to us by name, something that felt very above and beyond in terms of great service. Special shout outs to Lala and Pirlyn in reception, Red at the bar, and Arvin in the restaurant, as well as the many other kind and talented people who helped and welcomed us during our stay! La unidad exterior del aire acondicionado esa en la terraza de la habitación lo cual genera mucho ruido y calor adicional. El Wifi funciona un poco mal. Se realizaron algunas obras molestas durante nuestra estancia y también hay muchos mini eventos en el hotel como shootings de fotos y cenas que interrumpen de alguna manera el disfrute.

The resort and facilities were exceptional. The landscape is stunning and the staff were absolutely wonderful. The food and drink were delicious and the rooms were beautiful and clean.

Our virtuoso travel agent booked us here…. “the art of laid back luxury.” Never has a slogan been more accurate. Cauyan is on the far side of the El Nido island. You are whisked away to the most special place that only has the resort, you and nature. Cauyan exceeds in every dimension. From the minute you arrive at the El Nido airport, the team is there to assist. They whisk you away in their van and the next time you see your luggage is in your room. When you arrive (after the van ride from the airport and a 20-25 min boat ride) The hotel is ready to receive you. They know you. They welcome you. AHMED, the manager, is always around. He is a very seasoned professional and it shows in both how he interacts with guests and how the staff is trained. He keeps Cauyan running- always around to check on things- always making sure your guest experience exceeds any expectation. This resort feels like a luxury safari experience where you are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by water, but somehow have amazing luxury, beautiful accommodations, amazing food and unmatched service. It’s the little things that differentiate the most discriminating luxury levels of service. All of the staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Everyone smiles and welcomes you every time you pass. Everyone wants to anticipate your next need and have it ready before you ask or even know you need it. This is evident in every guest interaction. For example, we are a family of 5 (all adult children). If one of us shows up to a meal in advance of the others, the staff is already anticipating and making sure a 5-person table in our preferred location is available and set. They know what we like to drink. They make sure we feel like we are the only people there and that we matter. RED, at the bar, makes unbelievable tea (it’s a combo of ginger and lime that they serve at the bar, restaurant and spa… we now have the recipe!) AND super interesting tasty drinks. He’s also a lot of fun and we really enjoyed getting to know him and learn about all his bartending drink creation secrets. We suggest the resort have him demonstrate how he makes cocktails one night as a pre-dinner activity. Accommodations: - the resort has a few different Villa locations. (Central/Bay view and ocean view) - We chose the ocean location and stayed at the Sunrise Villa (103) which was located over the water. Can’t recommend this accommodation enough. It’s on the water located between the beach and spa. - You enter sunrise villa by one big main door and are greeted by a mini compound that’s all your own. - Sunrise villa is a 2 bedroom. Each bedroom has a King Bed. The primary bedroom is a King Bed with 2 bathroom sinks, very cool shower and 2 toilets. The second bedroom (not connected so it’s private- but still within the mini compound) is a King Bed with a shower, 1 sink and 1 toilet. They also placed a rollaway bed in this room for us. - The villa compound had its own small pool, lounge chairs (with padding), an outdoor sun bed (with padding) and additional outside area- fully shaded with a table, chairs, sofa (with padding) and another comfy chair to melt into. - Loved the unique setup and the views were literally unbelievable. Other villas were 1st row Ocean view- Located on the beach, these villas each had their own lounge chairs in front of their villas on the beach. There were also 2nd row Ocean View villas. These sat in between the 1st row villas so you had an ocean view between the buildings. They did not have their own lounge chairs. Last, there were other “water villas” across from where we stayed on the ocean side. The resort also has additional villas which view a lake or another body of water and bay view villas. WHATSAPP COMMUNICATION: one of my favorite aspects of this property was the ability to WhatsApp request or ask literally anything at any time. A quick chat (24/7) gets you instant service. Didn’t matter if it was “my laundry will be put out a little late but still need it back tomorrow” or “can they make up my room now” or “can we please have extra towels”, etc etc etc- it’s flawless & responses are instant (as are ALL service requests). LOVE this unique feature. FOOD: - Menu is super expansive. When you first arrive, you can’t believe they could make all those dishes and if they can, you doubt all of them would be excellent. They ARE. It’s pretty amazing that the kitchen can master so many cuisines and offer so much selection at each meal. All fresh and all beyond delicious. Family favorites for us were the fresh salads (Greek, Caesar and Cauyan were crowd pleasers, burger, ALL the fresh fish & catch of the day- particularly enjoyed the fish in the banana leaf, curry dishes, homemade ice cream). The pancakes were also a crowd pleaser for our family- so much so that we got the recipe before we left! - We were at the resort during the Christmas Gala. Well done, live music, tons of food selection (including lobster, carving stations, etc) and a staff that was so happy to make your experience the best it could be. It was clear how proud they were to showcase the property for this event. WIFI: I had previously read mixed reviews about the WIFI. All 5 of us had strong WIFI everywhere we were on the resort- and with 3 adult children we gave it a real test. EXCURSIONS: the resort offers a number of boat/island hopping/snorkeling, etc. excursions. We went on a private island hopping trip. It was a very well planned trip. We stopped at 5 locations. During each stop we had a different experience. We kayaked, snorkeled, swam, ate fruit, etc. We are not huge “boat” people (we have a few family members who get seasick), but found the experience super enjoyable and well done. SPA: we had multiple massages, facials, and foot massages. Spa facility is really cool- it is a “water hut” but they have cut out the floor area where your face looks down for massage allowing you to see the water, waves, rocks and fish below. We found the most fish located on the rooms on the right side of the building. While the spa staff was super eager to please, the treatments themselves had variability re the staff skill set and training. Massages were better. Facial staff could benefit from additional training. BEACH: beach and water is beautiful. You feel like you are in your own private part of the world. Chairs were always available (despite high season). Note that the water has rocks so we had come prepared with some cheap Amazon water shoes. High tide allowed those who wanted to paddle board, etc. POOL: pool is beautiful and a center point between the bar and restaurant. Again, despite it being “high” season, chairs (with padding), umbrellas, towels, etc were always available, despite the resort being “full” during high season. That’s one of the special things about this resort. You can see other guests during meal times or at the pool, but you are never competing for any resources. Everything is plentiful, available and always delivered with a smile and “can do” attitude. PRODUCTS: L’occitane shampoo, conditioner, body wash in rooms. Would recommend they include/add a body lotion. They also provide extra toothbrushes, etc. LAUNDRY: we used the laundry service. Found it prompt with clothes nicely washed, folded and returned on time to our rooms. GYM: small with limited equipment. The resort did offer a sunrise yoga class, which we did not experience. If you are in search of “laid back luxury” where staff is well trained and super friendly, you are in one of the most beautiful places in the world and have a large menu selection, you’ve found it. We can’t wait to return.

Our previous stay at Cauayan Island Resort was truly unforgettable. We spent 3 amazing days and 2 nights immersed in the serene beauty of the island and taking part in a variety of exciting activities. The natural scenery was really breathtaking that provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. One of the highlights of our trip was definitely the sumptuous food served at the restaurant. Every meal was a delightful experience, with fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes that satisfied our cravings and exceeded our expectations. A special shoutout to Alwin, our attentive and friendly waiter from start till end of our stay, whose excellent service made our dining experience even more enjoyable. He was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed with a warm smile. In general, our stay at Cauayan Island Resort was nothing short of fantastic. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great food, wonderful activities, and exceptional hospitality. Till our next visit!

Cauayan Island Resort never fails to amaze. On my first visit, I stayed in the Sunrise Villa last Feb 2025, and the experience was unforgettable — peaceful mornings, stunning views, and the kind of relaxation you can’t put into words. I loved it so much that on my second visit, I booked the Sunset Villa this December 2025, and it was equally breathtaking in its own unique way. A special shoutout to Alwin, our waiter during both nights of our stay. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. He made our dinner experience even more memorable with his excellent service and thoughtful assistance. It’s people like him who truly elevate the whole stay. Cauayan Island Resort is definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to — beautiful scenery, exceptional service, and unforgettable moments every time. Looking forward again to my visit next year!

Relative to resorts on el nido, prices were higher for food and basic items but still less than compared to resorts in the US. Arrival and departure from island can be a bit harrowing due to the waves and sea conditions. You get in a floating raft and must climb onto bridge. The staff do an amazing job to help you though.

We had a fantastic stay at the Cauayan Island resort. The location is idyllic nestled between a small hill and a beach. The service is superb and we were very well looked after. Being vegetarians, the team was very attentive to our requests. The spa is a must do activity, enjoying a relaxing massage while watching and hearing the waves. We also spotted a monitor lizard and some small sharks. We did a half day island trip to Big lagoon, secret cave etc and the trip was well organised and the guides took care of everything!. Due to an oncoming typhoon we had to cut short our visit by a day and the management agreed to settle the incidentals against the unused night. We are definitely coming back to the resort.

The view is amazing. We had a beach front villa and it was fantastic. Also each and every staff member was simply amazing, ready to make our visit the best possible.

The internet can be spotty but it is related to the fact that the resort is on an isolated island. Would improve the wine list.

My partner and I recently stayed at your resort to celebrate our honeymoon. While we truly appreciated the kindness and effort of your staff, our overall experience was unfortunately disappointing considering the premium price we paid. We were assigned to the Lagoon Villa, located above what was described as a lagoon pool. Unfortunately, the water looked stagnant and full of mosquitoes, making it impossible to sit outside and enjoy the balcony. When I approached the front desk, the only solution offered was an electric mosquito repellent for the room even though the issue was outside. As we wanted to enjoy our honeymoon without discomfort, we decided to upgrade to another villa. However, we were charged an additional 2,000 PHP per night, despite the price difference shown on your website being much lower. We felt that instead of understanding our situation and helping us find a fair solution, the focus was more on collecting extra payment than on ensuring guest satisfaction. In addition, there were very few lounge chairs around the pool, and we were informed only upon arrival that we could not use the beach chairs, as they were reserved for beachfront villas. It was disappointing to be at a beach resort and still have nowhere comfortable to sit by the sea. Lastly, the prices for food and drinks were extremely high even by luxury standards. It gave the impression that guests are being taken advantage of, as there are no other options on the island. Even bottled water was sold for several times the regular price. We had high expectations for a relaxing and memorable honeymoon, but sadly, the experience did not match the cost. We hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider offering fairer pricing and more thoughtful guest care in the future.

From the moment we got there we were "wowed". It was everything and more and exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the staff went out of their way to make the stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The room was clean and comfortable and there were touches like a bed turn down service with a little treat left on your bed every night that made you feel special and well looked after. We would go back again in a heart beat.

Getting on and off the boat was a little difficult for someone that wasn't as well abled as myself. I couldn't see disability access services for someone in a wheelchair or an elderly person accessing the island easily. There were a lot of stairs that would have made it difficult getting around the island but that didnt bother me.

Special from the beginning to the end. Absolute luxury, food was fantastic, I highly recommend the all inclusive package because with bartenders and food as good as this you will take advantage. Our room was beautiful, my partner fell ill and he said it was the best place ever to be sick! We could not have been treated more kindly, from chilling round the pool, to snorkeling in the bay, drinks, food, turn down service, our preferences being remembered when we sat down for meals, being greeted by name, this was one of the best resorts Ive ever had the pleasure of staying in. If I could recommend anything it would be take advantage of the spa and get a massage, ive never felt more relaxed while watching baby sharks swim about underneath me. First class!!

Cauayan Island Resort is like an oasis on earth. Not only is it a beautiful resort, but every detail is carefully taken care of. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful, with special mention to Janine who treated us wonderfully. The facilities were stunning and it’s the perfect place for couples to enjoy a few days of being taken care of. If you can, do the trekking to watch the sunset—it’s worth it! And at the spa area, you can even see baby sharks. In short, the perfect place for your vacation.

Only very minor things. Access to the water could be easier via the Octagon (jump to the raft and replace the wooden stairs that a splinter prone with a rubber one. The massage tables could be a bit more modern.

A luxurious private resort. The scenery is amazing, private boat tours to all the islands and very attentive staff. Their motto is the art of laidback luxury and I think they nailed it.

Let me start by saying we went in the low season, so only a few other folks were at the resort at the same time as us. But that didn't stop the staff from demonstrating their exceptional level of service. I can tell from reading other reviews, they are true professionals, no matter if its peak season, or the rainy season. I travel a lot. For work and pleasure. This group of employees at this resort were some of the best I have experienced anywhere in the world. From remembering us, our orders, and anticipating every need, they were able to make you feel like you were the only ones there. We stayed in a beachfront villa, and the ability to wake up to see the cove every morning, hear the waves lapping at the beach, and be steps from the main resort was just perfect. Tips: Get ready to wear flip flops for the entirety of your stay. You will be walking on the beach everywhere you go. And you will love it. The food: The menu is HUGE. I have no idea how they do it. Everything is good. Every meal we had was 10 out of 10 good. I learned there is a greenhouse on the island, and so much of their produce is organic and grown there. The Cauayan Salad was one of the best I have ever had. The fresh fruits and vegetables were of such a high quality. The chefs put a lot of attention in to presentation. The service levels are top notch, with white table cloths and napkins placed in your lap, they put a lot of effort in to the little luxuries. You might think you will feel guilty for wearing flip flops to dinner (see above) but you won't. We live in San Diego. We have high Mexican food standards. Their nachos were out of this world good. The tours: go out for a full day tour. There is so much to see and do around the area and their speedboat will get you there quickly. Ernil and Omar were our guides and they were amazing. We were able to customize the day, and make adjustments to the day based on weather, and they were just fantastic. Again, the little things like putting towels down on the boat seats before you get in, constantly handing you dry towels. These folks are good at their jobs!

Cauayan resort is amazing. We stayed 3 nights and took advantage of the tours, spa, and the all inclusive food and beverage option. This hotel is top of the line in everything. The staff is amazing, the food is amazing. Love this place!

The only thing I didn’t love and maybe it’s a western thing but our massages in the US do not include belly massages. I didn’t love this aspect of the massage but it was only 1-2 minutes of the 2 hr massage.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The Island is absolutely gorgeous with a pristine beach. The rooms were well kept and equally wonderful and comfortable. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. There is a dedicated whatsapp chat for any kind of request which was always promptly taken care of. We specifically want to highlight Nick from the Bar staff whose warmth and kindness made every evening even more enjoyable. All in all absolutely recommend Cauayan to anyone! We had a glorious week there and were genuinely sad to leave!

We had such a phenomenal stay at Cauayan Island Resort. The location is absolutely fantastic – honestly the best in El Nido, with breathtaking views all around. 🌴✨ The food and drinks were delicious, and the amenities made everything really comfortable. A sensational return to this hotel, which deserves an in-depth explanation of my glowing review: Luxurious room with magnificent view, we enjoyed the room overlooking the beach with private deckchairs, a veritable paradise. Impeccable service, a smiling welcome, attention to detail, all the staff without exception are truly adorable. The General Manager made sure we had a perfect stay, taking care of every detail. For example, we asked her to find a solution to the problem of too much light in the room in the morning, and the solution was found within the hour. We were offered small amuse-bouches in our room every evening, which was very much appreciated We had the right to a private evening, a dinner apart, outside the restaurant, a memorable romantic bubble We were unlucky with the rainy weather, the hotel offered us different daily activities to make our stay unforgettable all the same. Exceptional bar, exquisite cocktails made by a qualified bartender, and a very comfortable bar area.
