The room was larger than expected for the price and in very good condition. The cooked breakfast was excellent, and the staff were helpful.

Car park was a little tight, but adequate.

The location of the property is ideal for the town centre, obviously there is going to be some noise at times. The staff were extremely helpful at all times & really friendly. The breakfast menu and food is very good and can certainly recommend.

I couldn’t accept the room I was allocated as it was just run down, basic and scruffy, it was upgraded to a superior which acceptable but was simply the same as a Premier Inn The property in general is pretty run down and in need of refurb but if you’re not too bothered by that then..

Location & Parking

Internet signal strength not great. No air conditioning. Electronic key cards for entering rooms would be better than the key & large room number tag. Continental breakfast could do with having a selection of cheeses & meats.

Everything about the place itself was lovely and the staff are brialliant. Rooms are clean and tidy, just let down by noise

The only thing which let this down was the noise in the courtyard area from various wedding parties returning and continueing their chats/drinking below the bedrooms. This was not monitored by staff and was only actions after complains at 2am

Our stay at White Hart was perfect. The location is in the town centre of Braintree giving easy access to local shops etc with Freeport Shopping Village being a short car journey away. On site parking is free. We enjoyed Dinner, Bed & Breakfast at really good value. Staff communicated well both before and during our visit. Our room itself was immaculate. Thank you to the team at Greene King Inns 😃

The room was relatively clean. The beds were very comfy & I really liked the shower. The room was spacious, especially considering the two of us (girls) needed to get ready for an event. Everything we needed was in the room, including an iron & ironing board. Breakfast was great, with lots of variety. We had a good stay at this hotel & I'd recommend it. The location is good & there are lots of shops around, as well a a large supermarket close by for convenience.

I didn't know that there was no lift to assist with taking our luggage to the room on the first floor. We had to cross the outside courtyard to get to the section of the hotel that led to the stairwell going to our room & lug our luggage up a few flights to get there. We weren't told that there was a route to our room that didn't require us to go outside & we weren't told to sign into the digital car park registration system for guests who drive so that you don't get a ticket.

The room was clean, the food was good, some staff members were great, we slept well.

Parking was tight, check-in was bad we had to find someone after standing there for what seemed an age. A staff member totally ignored us. The shower was dripping, we didn't hear it when the door was shut to the bathroom & we kept the shower door shut so water wasn't all over the floor. Room 30. We were there for one night.

Comfy bed, central to where we needed to be.

Shower was bodged together and leaked water out of a hole where the lever for adjusting the flow should have been. They hadn't cleaned the bathroom fully, they need to look up.

The age of the building made for an interested stay. The room was suitably decorated and was very comfortable. I had an evening meal and breakfast, both of which were very enjoyable.

The staff were excellent nothing was too much for them. Our waitress was brilliant.

The room was far too hot owing to the heatwave. The fans were useless.

Shower did not drain properly, and water pooled. Then black muck came up from the plug hole so not very hygienic. Air Con would have been good as the night I stayed it was a very hot night. We had the breakfast included. However, everyone had problems with the hot water flask and it took too long for the staff to refill it. Myself and my partner asked for the same traditional cooked breakfast but his came with sausages and bacon, mine just had the bacon, no sausages. We came down to breakfast around 10am but it felt like they were getting ready to close the breakfast room. There was hardly any bread left, or pastries, and tea bags ran out very quickly.

Free parking in a central location is a bonus. Rooms/hotel were a bit dated but fine and clean . Our room was quiet even though we overlooked the car park. Staff were pleasant. Not a bad pub either.

Lovely period features, the room was beautiful with wooden beams. Bed was comfortable and location was very convenient.

A noisy location, with Friday night foot traffic outside my window til early hours. I am pretty sensitive to noise though, so others may not mind so much. Take earplugs if you are like me. My shower also wasn't working.

We know the venue having been a few times before eaten and drank there so we know it's a nice place with character. We stayed overnight as we were out on the evening locally , the room was clean and exactly what we needed, Shower was superb

The TV remote did not work in the room , wrong remote for the TV which was new, we spoke eo a member of staff who could not resolve and said we will check this tomorrow . Lol ok no TV for us then , not that we are mad TV watchers but the WC was on but hey ho.

I loved the chic vibes and the layout was like a maze i lowkey loved it like i was in the backrooms or somthing lol! Also the towels were FANTASTIC! They soaked up anything! All soap suds gone! LOVELY staff who were kind.

I didnt like the box i had to put keys in to check out cause i fumbled every time and it was embarrassing cause i lost aura!

Breakfast was good value, the location for us was ideal, we are familiar with the area so knew what to expect.

I thought the decoration was a bit tired and could probably do with a spruce up, carpets in main dining room were a bit worn. I personally had difficulty with the winding stairs and could really have done with another handrail on the wall side.

The staff were friendly and helpful, in particularly the lady with the blonde hair on duty in the restaurant on Friday evening. She seemed to be the only staff member covering but despite being rushed off her feet she was very attentive and smiley. Generally there seemed to be a lack of bar staff too. Friday's meal in the restaurant was nice. Free car parking was good.

Basic rooms in need of TLC. Clean overall but had definitely seen better days and bare minimum in terms of furnishings. In our opinion the online photos looked better than it actually was. Room was above outdoor seating area and was noisy. I asked reception if we could move but was told the hotel was fully booked that weekend. We thought the price would be fairer if breakfast was included.

We wa welcome with a lively staff member and check in was quick and informative! We loved the breakfast in the myand again we was made to feel so welcome ! We had a fantastic sleep the bed are so comfortable and the stay was so nice.

There was no TV in the room, which I thought was standard nowadays. While not the site's fault due to the weather conditions, the room was extremely hot, the window opened about 2 inches and there was no fan.

Staff overstretched (imo, from a experienced hospitality person) over 1 hour 2 days in a row for breakfast (the hot breakfast was good when it arrived, but 1st day continental was almost finished, no tea pots, side plates, spoons, tea bags, hot water & coffee running very low. Only 1 person visible in the breakfast room to replenish items, take orders, bring orders & deal with guest requests

Where do I start. The room was like an oven with just a small fan which was as much use as a catflap in an elephant house, I was woken up by a member of staff (cleaner perhaps, if they have cleaners !) at 6.30am regailing her life story of her new life psot partner split to someone which was arguably louder than the planes landing or taking off from Stnasted airport which is obviously on the flight path. Breakfast, wow ! Arrive to breakfast fully 24 mins before it is supposed to finish to find every table dirty and next to no food left in the continental breakfast area no hot water for tea, no clean cutlery and no plates.....ordering food took 25 minutes and then to be told it would be a half hour wait. My order of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon eventually turned up minus the buttering of the sourdough bread and the eggs cooked to death. My friend who is dairy intolerant was asked to choose from the "tablet " which basically left him nothing but a vegan option unless of course he chose extra bacon, sausages, eggs (not scrambled) so essentially, just order a full English and you are good to go...unbelievable !! Greene King doing what Greene King do best !! I will live a happy life knowing I will never darken your doors again.

Comfortable beds and a really powerful shower, which was perfect after a hot day selling at the market. The food was good and priced well, and the restaurant itself was a nice environment with plenty of space for everyone to relax.

The windows of the room are very thin, so it's easy to overhear even the most personal of conversations going on outside, and the bar can be loud on a weekend.
