This is a lovely location, with views of the river and a very short walk to the centre of Rye. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The full English breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were very friendly.

Nothing, I guess I’d like more sockets in the room but that’s often an issue - a fan was provided as it was very hot weather, but was very far away. Not really a problem though.

The property was in a great location, had a lovely breakfast room, lovely courtyard and the room was bright with all the facilities. Special thanks to the staff who were extremely friendly and made our stay very pleasant.

The room was spacious and it’s only a few minutes walk to the town center. The breakfast was nice. The shower was powerful enough.

It’s a bit rundown. Everything looked dated. As my room was facing the road, it’s a bit noisy.

The river haven was a short walk from the town centre, plenty of parking, staff were so lovely and kind, the terrace was nice over looking the river if you wanted to have a couple of drinks you can sit outside

A very reasonable hotel for price. Nothing fancy, but everything needed for a good stay. Staff friendly and helpful.

Window overlooked carpark so a few privacy issues, and unsafe to leave window open at night (for those so inclined).

Location was beautiful, super large bed and lovely room. Breakfast was really well run, they were very busy but food was great poached eggs amazing :-) Parking was convenient and outside seating when the sun was shinning was a bonus.

We sat for a while in the dark outside in the evening and had to ask for outside lights to be turned on, which you would think would be turned on automatically as there were others also sat outside. Lady was a little grumpy at being asked to do this.

The location was good . The room and bathroom were spacious , clean and the decor was in good order . The staff were smart , friendly and very helpful . The included breakfsst was excellent .

We arrived very early , 12.30 for 3pm check in , was just going to say that our car was in the car park but would be back later to check in and was told that we could check in immediately. Staff were friendly , helpful and professional at all times. This is a basic hotel but with some very good qualities, we had a Tempur mattress which was super comfy and breakfast , although a small menu , was all of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The free parking is an added bonus. We will return.

Breakfast was ok but nothing exceptional, there is plenty of it, some berries to go with the yoghurt would have been great and the plumbing in room 12 needs attention, ie hot tap in basin turns off the wrong way and shower control goes hot when you appear to be turning it cold.

Thought the property needed a complete referred parts missing in the bathroom light didn’t work old shabby furniture asked for two more pillars which had no pillowcases on when they were brought to our room. It wasn’t a superior deluxe Room we expected. breakfast was amazing very very good produce cooked very well 10 out of 10.

Noisy - it’s on a busier road than it looks and internally it is not well soundproofed. Bed was uncomfortable. Basic room. No water in room.

Location is great! Rooms are spacious and the fact that they are very dog friendly made me booked for this hotel. It’s beautiful located on the river bank. Breakfast was surprisingly good and lots of hot food to choose from! Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

There’s no mini fridge in the room. But it was still ok as the hotel kept my dog’s food in their fridge in the kitchen.

Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Goed dat je ook wat later op de avond nog een drankje van de bar kon bestellen, tegen een voor UK-begrippen alleszins redelijke prijs. Ontbijt was prima verzorgd. Goede keuze van warme gerechten. Locatie is top, op zeer korte loopafstand van het schilderachtige centrum. Parkeren op eigen terrein, bij de kamerprijs inbegrepen. Het hotel ziet er van buiten wat verouderd uit, maar binnen is het keurig schoon en zijn ze het (niet zichtbaar voor de gasten) aan het renoveren. Onze kamer (3) was in ieder geval redelijk recent gemoderniseerd.

Keuze wat betreft het continentaal gedeelte was enigszins beperkt, maar zeker voldoende, naast het warme gedeelte. Het bed was niet al te breed. De douche-straal was wat zacht.

Great location, easy walk into Rye and Mermaid Street. Lots of lovely places to eat and drink. Staff were excellent, hotel was very clean and nice cooked breakfast.

It is in need of a refurb. Bathroom very basic with broken tap and toilet roll holder and we were in deluxe room. Shower over bath not very powerful. Whilst it’s clean, we thought these things would be quick to fix, and would not expect in an upgraded room.

The location is nice however the area could be much better if treated properly. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were very friendly and we had a lovely cooked breakfast.

It looks run down, the toilet paper holders were broken, the walls have streaks of the old paint still visible and there is a weird mouldy smell all over the hotel.

It would have been a bonus if the hotel offered an evening meal, but for us it wasn't a deal breaker. The bath in our room was narrow (but I guess I'm quite chunky!) It would be great if bath was replaced for a wide shower tray.

Hotel in need of an update in every aspect - public areas, rooms, bathrooms, staffing. Sign in the door said they had an 8.1 rating but that was 2014 so 12 years ago. Breakfast was ok, but cold choices not that good or appetising to look at. Just a bit more imagination needed for the price paid. Our key stopped working so we had to keep finding the house keeper to use their pass key. Wouldn't book again.

Hôtel très agréable à proximité à pied du centre ville. Nous avons pu bénéficier d’une vue sur la rivière ce qui est très sympa. Salle de bain/WC avec baignoire et surtout fenêtre ouverte sur l’extérieur d’où une belle luminosité. Canettes d’eau mises à votre disposition à votre arrivée. Petits déjeuners variés ….sous forme de buffet et plats chauds sur commande. Disponibité du personnel le matin mais aussi le soir de notre arrivée :accueil fort sympathique du gardien de nuit alors que nous sommes arrivés après l’heure préconisée de 22 h (nous avons prévenu par message)

Es war sehr heiß im Zimmer und lüften war nicht, da durch das Fenster über den Schmetterlingsflieder-Strauch sehr dicke Spinnen ins Zimmer kamen.

Unser Zimmer zur Straße bzw der Verkehrslärm war sehr, sehr laut. Die Zimmer sind relativ hellhörig. Ansonsten nett.

Das nette Frühstück und die Freundlichkeit der Angestellten. Es ist schön, dass man abends noch etwas im Hotel zu trinken bekommt. Der Frühstücksraum ist ganz hübsch, die Auswahl beim Frühstück gut.

Es gibt im Badezimmer noch getrennte Kalt - und Warmwasserhähne - das ist sehr antiquiert und unpraktisch. Die Betten sind relativ schmal und nicht besonders bequem. Die Schalousien, die innen lagen, konnten nicht hochgezogen werden. Die Fenster sind von einfacher Verglasung, sodass man den Verkehrswert leider deutlich hört!

From the time we arrived the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

For a superior room there were certain areas I would think should be updated but saying that the bedding and towels were clean together with the bath, and sink.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. Great breakfast. Right by the river. Clean room.and airy, will definately stay here again. Parking a bonus.

Very convenient location a few minutes walk from the centre of picturesque Rye with easy parking. We had a ground floor room with a small, private seating area overlooking the river. The room was clean and a reasonable size for an overnight stop over. No air conditioning, but a good quality fan was provided and we were able to keep the room cool in very hot weather. Our hosts / all members of staff were friendly and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast which had a good selection of hot food options. At the time of our visit food was not served in the evening, but we were aware of this in advance, there are plenty of eating places in the town, including a chip shop very close to the hotel. We enjoyed a very reasonably priced drink on the hotel terrace, which overlooks the river. All in all, a good base from which to explore the fascinating town of Rye.

Some of the communal areas were in need of a little TLC, but they were clean and pleasant.

The hotel is situated by the estuary and is a short walk into the centre of Rye. Rooms are light, airy and comfortable. Breakfast was nice.

Good location within easy walking distance of the train station and the town centre. Good choices of breakfast and the food was nice.

The room was very dated with only a shower over the bath. The carpets throughout the property are heavily stained, which is off-putting. Only one plug socket by the bed. Very patchy TV signal. The room was very warm- one small, noisy fan provided. The main issue was having to give your room key into reception to leave the property and collect it upon return- this is "for security" but made us uncomfortable and feel we had to take all valuables out with us.

We had a lovely stay at The River Haven Hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful, they let us keep our luggage at reception before check in and after check out which we really appreciated. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is in a great location, and is in walking distance to Rye centre. Thank you for a wonderful mini break, we would definitely recommend. :-)

There was no Air conditioning on one of the hottest weekends of the year and we were in an attic room with only a roof light window. A fan was provided but the heat was unbearable. In addition, the hairdryer provided cut out every few seconds due to overheating I think

The location was fantastic free car parking and a lovely outdoor seating area. Our room and bathroom were a good size.

The whole hotel could do with an upgrade furniture and fittings very dated. Some of the common areas hallways etc were not clean.

The staff; especially nice were the breakfast staff, (there is no evening meal served), the bed changing crew helpful (who checked if we needed a bed made up), and one of the reception staff who resolved our issues with a dirty window (bird dropping), a broken light and a slow draining washhand basin in the bathroom. We liked that the breakfast is ordered from a nice selection of dishes on the menu, is freshly prepared and served with friendliness in the conservatory.

The bedroom, reception and corridors looked tired, dated, and in need of refreshing. These first impressions were very disappointing and we asked, unsuccessfully, if there were any other rooms avaliable. The slow draining bathroom sink wasn't resolved before we left. The hotel is situated beside a busy road during the day and a tidal river.

Gute Lage. Alles in wenigen Gehminuten erreichbar. Privater, großzügiger Parkplatz. Gutes Frühstück.

To say I didn't like it is a bit strong, but we felt that the decor could do with a refresh in places. There was breakfast included which was great but no evening meal.
