Mantra Samui is a beautiful and impressive hotel, with lovely rooms, great facilities, and a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service made us feel uncomfortable throughout much of our stay. We were always polite, friendly, and smiling with the staff, and genuinely tried to make every interaction pleasant and respectful. We were also among the guests who regularly chose to eat at the hotel restaurants, ordering meals and drinks despite the relatively high prices. Because we keep kosher, we sometimes had specific requests, such as using a different pan or preparing certain ingredients separately, but we often felt as if every additional request was a burden or inconvenience. At one point, even the chef came out and looked at us in a way that felt dismissive and uncomfortable, simply because we had asked for something different. The same feeling continued at reception — on the morning of checkout, we were called twice before 11:30 just to remind us that checkout was at 12:00, and the tone made us feel rushed and somewhat disrespected. What disappointed us most is that we genuinely came wanting to enjoy the hotel, dine there, spend money there, and appreciate everything it had to offer. Guests who are polite, respectful, and willing to support the hotel should never be made to feel uncomfortable for asking reasonable questions or adjustments. Mantra Samui is a beautiful property, but warmer, more welcoming, and genuinely service-minded hospitality would make a huge difference.

Everything about this stay was truly top-tier, and the value for money is unbeatable. The property is spotless, extremely comfortable, and offers stunning views alongside a fantastic pool. The service was seamless and always available whenever needed. A special shoutout to Ton, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable—the entire staff operates at the highest standard. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning!

Everything was magnificent, the only absolute smallest exception is the location but isn’t an issue with the free shuttle bus and easy taxi services. It being near fisherman’s village is a great base to explore samui. We also were treated to a fabulous sea view room upgrade and were cared for amazingly by the ever so kind staff thank you mantra samui!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very clean, and there is also a nice gym. The infinity pool and its incredible view alone make the stay completely worthwhile. The service throughout the hotel was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is quite far from the main areas. It is around a 5-10 minute drive from Fisherman’s Village and at least 10-15 minutes from Chaweng and other central areas. The hotel is situated on a fairly steep hill, so having a car or scooter, or using taxis, is essential, as getting there on foot is almost impossible. The air conditioning in the rooms could also be improved.

Postcard perfect hotel with gorgeous view of the sea; stunning pool and rooms (we got a surprise upgrade with sea view which was wonderful). The staff could not be better and could not do enough for us! Shuttle service was convenient; good restaurant and breakfast. Spotless, modern room — airy and spacious. Lots of wellness activities and events available included. Would stay here again for certain!

Hard to fault anything. Worth having a scooter though for freedom, we didn’t so had to use taxis a lot of the time which are a bit pricier in Samui compared to mainland. Although the shuttle service was helpful, it does run at certain specific times and a long, steep walk down/up to resort.

Świetnie położony hotel z przepięknym widokiem. Bardzo fajny basen, pyszne śniadania i niezwykle miła, pomocna obsługa. Hotel znajduje się na wzgórzu, więc są różnice poziomów, ale nie stanowi to żadnego problemu, ponieważ goście mogą korzystać z elektrycznych buggy, które dowożą z recepcji do pokoju i z powrotem. Na miejscu jest również parking dla samochodów i skuterów. Korzystałem także z siłowni i wszystko było w porządku. To był już mój trzeci pobyt w tym hotelu i po raz kolejny jestem bardzo zadowolony. Naprawdę wszystko oceniam na plus i nie mam żadnych uwag ani minusów. Zdecydowanie polecam ten hotel i chętnie wrócę ponownie.

Some bolt drivers refuse to drive to the resort a night, I got left near the main road and had to walk 20 minutes up hill in the pitch black

Manque de transparence, déjà ils attendent que le payement soit passé pour nous dire que la piscine est en rénovation donc ça je trouve déjà que c’est un peu bancal en plus de ça quand tu vas sur le site même en étant là-bas, il précise pas que la piscine est en rénovation, donc je trouve que ça c’est un manque de transparence. En plus de ça, il y avait beaucoup de problèmes dans la chambre, la climatisation des problèmes dans la douche et puis je m’attendais vraiment à mieux. Ça ressemble pas du tout à un hôtel cinq étoiles en fait en terme de service, c’est-à-dire que le déjeuner petit déjeuner qui est inclus est très décevant, la chambre est pas ouf vraiment c’est très décevant sachant qu’il y avait même pas de piscine en fait donc ça vaut pas du tout le prix que j’ai payé.

Maalesef konaklamamızdan hiç memnun kalmadık. Öncelikle çantamızdan 50 € ve 100 $ kayboldu. Çantama hiç dokunmadığım halde paramın kaybolduğunu fark ettim ve durumu otel yetkililerine bildirdim. Ancak bu konuda yeterli bir ilgi veya yardımcı olma çabası göremedik. Bunun dışında, otelin konumu denize oldukça uzak. Buna rağmen bizi sadece 5 dakikalık bir mesafeye götürmek için bile ücret talep edildi. En büyük hayal kırıklıklarından biri ise havuz konusunda yaşandı. Rezervasyonumuzu yaptıktan sonra havuzun tadilatta olduğunu öğrendik. Oysa otelin denize uzak olması nedeniyle havuz, bu oteli tercih etmemizdeki en önemli nedenlerden biriydi. Havuzun kullanılamayacağını rezervasyon öncesinde değil, rezervasyonu yaptıktan sonra öğrenmiş olmamız bizim için ciddi bir hayal kırıklığı oldu. Tüm bunların yanında, yaşadığımız sorunlar karşısında otel tarafından yeterli anlayış ve destek göremedik. Genel olarak hem hizmet hem de iletişim açısından beklentilerimizin oldukça altında kalan bir konaklama deneyimi oldu. Bu nedenle bu oteli tercih edecek kişilerin rezervasyon yapmadan önce tüm bu konuları göz önünde bulundurmasını tavsiye ederim.

Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Personal – alle waren unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns während des gesamten Aufenthalts sehr wohlgefühlt. Einfach top und absolut empfehlenswert!

The room was lovely and the view was gorgeous

The pool was out of order and we weren’t notified until it was too late to cancel our booking. They offered a few free things to make it up to us, one of those was a cooking class which when we tried to book turned out to be unavailable. They offered a shuttle service to another resort to use the pool there but that was overcrowded and dirty. It certainly wasn’t a 5 star experience.

This was my favourite stay in Thailand room was huge they kindly upgraded us. The breakfast was lovely all cooked to order. Staff were accomodating and lovely driving us up the hill. The view is awesome. Gym is huge was a shame the pool was out but very accomodating the pool at fairhouse with shuttle for us to use.

The only problem for maybe older people is going up the stairs but it was fine for us.

The views were exceptional. I struggled to leave the hotel because the chef was so good! If you’re there on a Tuesday you must do the surf and turf buffet. Everyone was so kind and helpful, an incredible hotel.

The shuttle down to fisherman’s village could have run a little more frequently, but there is always taxis and grab so not a major issue.

Staff were absolutely excellent - the buggy service around the property is a god send as it is extremely steep to get to the rooms! Unfortunately the pool was out of use as there were urgent repairs but they provided access to another pool and provided pick up etc. Couldn’t fault the staff - so helpful.

Het zwembad was in onderhoud, wel was er een shuttlebus geregeld om ons iedere dag naar een nabijgelegen zwembad te brengen. Toch is het lekkerste om een zwembad voor je deur te hebben. Ons werd slechts een aantal dagen van tevoren medegedeeld dat het zwembad gesloten zou zijn, hierdoor waren veel vergelijkbare hotels al volgeboekt.

Gorgeous location and views. Room was huge and lovely facilities, very clean. The staff were extremely helpful.

Sadly the pool was out of order. We were warned which was nice and offered good discounts on food, drinks and the spa, as well as free wellness classes. We were also able to get transfers to another beautiful pool by the beach. Other hotels could learn a thing or two about managing guest expectations and compensating for disappointments from this hotel.

Leider war zu unserer Zeit der Pool geschlossen, aber wir hatten eine gute Alternative und Rabatte. Außerdem war es sehr steil im Hotel und die Vögel im Restaurant haben das Frühstück sehr gestört

Beautiful hotel, stunning views, and a comfortable room.

The room was beautiful and the views were great. However, the property is built on a hillside, which means there are many steep walks and stairs between the rooms, pool, restaurant and other facilities. This was not a major issue for us, but after several days it can become tiring, especially for older guests or those with reduced mobility. The breakfast was quite basic and did not stand out. The service was acceptable but nothing particularly memorable. We were also disappointed by the laundry service. We were informed that the cost was 100 THB per kilogram, but when we brought 2.1 kg of laundry, we were charged for 3 kg. While this is a minor issue, it felt unfair, especially as no effort was made to adjust the charge.

The view is great and you have a gym, spa and the staff helps you organize tours. The staff at this hotel is truly exceptional and were very helpful with everything. The pool was unfortunately closed when we stayed there, however the hotel informed in advance and compensated us for the inconvenience. The drinks and breakfast at the view were also very good. We really loved this hotel and would go back.

Its on a hillside, so to get around, you should rent a scooter (which the hotel can organize for you). Its not an issue, but good to be aware.

I like very much. It is one of our 10 hotels that we are staying during a long trip and I am fully satisfied. The staff is kind (some problems with English), shakshuka for breakfast found my expectation. The most important thing - SILENCE, no terrible music, no heavy drinkers, no kids. Thx for the up grade. I am enjoying. Edit: the place is awesome according to the price. We extended one week more. I like very much that they DO NOT allow to smoke at the swimming pool, no music and manager/owner David is checking wellness of the guest by himself. We had a small chat. It is not a place for everyone. If u like to party, drink and smoke, please do NOT come here. U will not feel good here and u will disturb other guests ;)

מלון מקסים. מתאים בעיקר לזוגות. צוות עובדים שתמיד מחייך ועוזר בכל דבר. חדר ענק ונקי ומתחוזק בצורה טובה. בריכת אינפיניטי לנוף משגע. צריך לקחת בחשבון שצריך לקחת מונית או קטנוע ולנסוע 10 דקות להגיע לחוף ים ולכפר הדייגים. שווה את זה כי המלון מצוין ושקט. חדר כושר גדול וחדש וחדר עבודה גדול למי שצריך.

Beautiful views

Sehr schöne Lage mit Infinity Pool. Zu unserer Reisezeit war wenig los und wir konnten ein Zimmerupgrade bekommen. Man konnte direkt am Resort einen Roller mieten und das Personal war sehr freundlich! Man ist in kürzester Zeit an den wichtigsten Punkten und hat trotzdem eine ruhige Lage zum entspannen.

Die Betten waren ein bisschen zu hart, hätten weicher sein können.

an der Lage kann man ja nichts machen, dass muss einem bewusst sein. Es war alles TOP

Sehr schöne Lage, nettes Personal. Wir haben ein kostenloses Zimmerupgrade bekommen.

Ingesamt eine sehr gute Unterkunft. Leider gibt es zwei Punkte: die Getränke sind übertrieben teuer, 120 Baht für eine Cola? Das empfinde ich einfach nur als unverschämt. Des Weiteren war der Fernseher in unserem Zimmer sehr alt, quasi nicht zu gebrauchen.

It's a bit secluded and the taxi starts from 300THB but that's what I signed up for. The taxi situation on the island is a separate issue. The hotel provides a shuttle though!

Awesome resort with everything you could want for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of variety, and we were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to an ocean view room — the view was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were delightful and incredibly friendly, always going out of their way to help. The pool area and surrounding views were truly spectacular. Although the resort is quite steep with lots of stairs, it was never an issue as the buggy service is quick and easy to use. The free shuttle was also a great added bonus. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Mantra Samui Resort. Der Empfang bei unserer Ankunft war außergewöhnlich freundlich und warmherzig, unser Zimmer war riesig und super sauber. Der Pool ist mit seinem Ausblick ein wirkliches Highlight. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Hotel liegt auf einem Berg etwas abseits, da man sich aber direkt am Hotel Roller mieten kann und auch mehrmals am Tag ein Shuttle fährt, stellt das kein Problem dar. Innerhalb der Anlage kann man auf Wunsch auch vom Personal mit einem Golfcart umher gefahren werden, da die Wege teilweise ziemlich steil sind. Wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen 😊

Der Pool und die Aussicht sind wirklich atemberaubend! Wir hatten das Zimmer 161 und es war wirklich das beste Zimmer des ganzen Hotels. Die Zimmer waren sauber und der Service immer sehr freundlich. Auch gut fanden wir, das wir per WhatsApp Tag und Nacht direkt mit dem Front Office sprechen konnten bei jeglichen Anliegen. Wir hatten zudem ein Problem und es kam extra der Manager Mr. Ned höchstpersönlich, um mit uns zu sprechen und eine Lösung zu finden. Er war sehr verständnisvoll und hat eine tolle Lösung gefunden. Es war auch gut, das es am Pool immer ruhig war und das der Raucherbereich außerhalb des Poolbereiches war.

Während unseres 3 wöchigen Aufenthalts waren 2x Familien im Restaurant essen. Der Restaurantbereich liegt genau am Poolbereich, das heisst die Kinder sind laut schreiend an uns und den Poolgästen vorbeigegangen und waren auch im Restaurant laut. Das fanden wir nicht gut, da es ja bewusst ein Adults Only Hotel ist und man viel Geld zahlt um eben keine Kinder um sich herum zu haben. Ganz am Anfang in der ersten Woche war eine Baustelle nebenan aber diese wurde dann die letzten 14 Tage gestoppt. Wir fanden auch im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels dass das Frühstück nicht ganz so viel Auswahl hatte aber es war immer lecker und frisch.

We had a really lovely stay at Mantra Samui. From the moment we arrived, the reception team were incredibly welcoming and set the tone for a relaxed stay. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a Love Room with an ocean view, which was a real highlight. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels whenever needed, and everything was kept to a high standard throughout. The pool area is beautiful and very well maintained—perfect for a quiet, relaxing day. We also took advantage of the spa promotion (40% off), and the massage was excellent—definitely worth doing during your stay. The View restaurant was another standout. Breakfast offered a great selection, including hot drinks, juices, cereals, breads, and cooked options. We also ordered room service, which was prompt and good quality. The only thing to note is that the hotel is located on a steep, windy hill, which can be a bit of a challenge—but that’s part of Koh Samui’s landscape and fairly typical for properties with such great views. Overall, a fantastic stay with great service, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere. We’d definitely return.

Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt! Direkt bei der Ankunft haben wir ein gratis Zimmerupgrade bekommen und hatten eines der schönsten Zimmer mit einem Hammer Ausblick!

I have nothing bad to say about this resort, the staff were exceptional, facilities very clean, great gym (the gym was very well equipped for a hotel gym) & swimming pool, food was very nice and reasonably priced, great value for money and would highly recommend

There was nothing I didn’t like about it, the resort is located on a steep hill which can make it challenging for some people to move around, however there is busses and club carts provided to bring you up/down whenever you need.

Gefallen hat mir besonders das Frühstück – wirklich sensationell und auf einem Niveau, das man sonst nur aus deutlich teureren Hotels kennt. Die große À-la-carte-Auswahl war qualitativ hervorragend, ergänzt durch ein reichhaltiges Buffet mit frischem Obst und Salaten. Auch die Zimmer waren exzellent: groß, sehr ruhig, sodass man von anderen Gästen überhaupt nichts mitbekommt. Der schöne Pool mit Ausblick rundet das Ganze perfekt ab.

Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt ist die Lage: Für Gäste, die keinen Roller fahren möchten, kann es etwas umständlich sein, sich ausschließlich mit Grab oder Bolt fortzubewegen. Wer sich jedoch zutraut, einen Scooter zu nutzen, wird damit keinerlei Probleme haben.

Amazing hotel and staff! Everyone greeted us with smiles and we felt really welcome. Pool is great with a stunning view. Towels and all taken care of with a restaurant available. The restaurant is a little pricy for Koh Samui, but most the dishes were great (for breakfast and in general). Skip the pizza and pancakes (cardboard quality). Gym is professional and high quality with good airconditioning. Large room - we had the view and balcony. That was worth the upgrade.

It is on a hill and the resort is steep - like really steep! They can help drive you around. That said, it just makes it more beautiful. Expect to use Grab or a scooter to get to the city.

Room breakfast pool

Amazing hotel with outstanding customer service!!! The whole team was very friendly and always looked out for us! We got a room upgrade and had a stunning sea view room which had the perfect size. The gym was without a doubt the best hotel and in general gym on the island! Lots of machines and free weights, cardio machines and a very well programmed aircon which meant the gym was nice and cool even at 6:30am when we entered it. Breakfast was also stunning and all dishes that you can order from a menu as well as fresh fruit and jogurt were delicious. Great coffee as well!

Nothing! The adult only makes it the perfect place to chill and relax!
