Un peu trop proche de Malé meme si le lagon est très beau, pas de housereef pour snorkeling dans l’hotel. Le prix des nuits est un très bon rapport qualité prix mais le prix des repas et activités sur place est excessif et il est dommage que ce soit annoncé uniquement hors taxe (avec des ajouts de beaucoup de taxes, environs 30%).

‏Unfortunately, our stay at this resort was deeply disappointing and fell far below the standard of hospitality expected in the Maldives. Here are the main issues we encountered: * **Delayed Check-in:** Our check-in was delayed simply because we had to wait for other guests to arrive, which is completely unacceptable after a long journey. * **Mandatory Restaurant Reservations:** This is my first time visiting the Maldives where restaurant reservations were required just to get a table. Restaurants should readily have availability for resort guests. * **Unavailable Spa Facilities:** The spa was fully unavailable throughout our entire stay and only became accessible on our very last day. * **Inflexible Check-out:** Despite informing the resort prior to our arrival that our flight was at 7:00 PM, they refused to extend our check-out time. When we asked for a late check-out, they demanded **$550** for just 3 hours (from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM). * **Unexpected Fees and Departure Issues:** We were supposed to check out at 12:00 PM, but to our surprise, we were unable to get our boarding passes at that time. As a result, our luggage had to be placed in storage, costing us an extra **$42**, on top of paying **$202** at the bound/lounge. * **Housekeeping and Food:** Housekeeping services were below par. The food was poor in quality and excessively overpriced. ### **The Only Positive:** The sole highlight of our stay was the outstanding service provided by three exceptional staff members who deserve recognition: **Shifa**, **Luna**, and **Aria**. **Conclusion:** I strongly do not recommend this resort. The service relative to the price is completely unfair and lacks the essential warmth of Maldivian hospitality.

The location is very close to the airport, the villas were exceptional, spacious, clean and amazing. The resort has so many facilities, restaurants and activities.

Liked everything about it

Property is close to airport, 15 mins boat ride. It’s very well maintained and neat. Beautiful rooms and private beach access to beach villas is superb. Staff is good and polite and helpful most of the times. Checkin and check out was smooth. Shared boat ride was also very comfortable and arranged as per flight timings. Our butler Arshad was very helpful and helped us with information accurately. Buggy facility is good but with delays often. They provide bicycles to ride around property which is great. No offers or discounts on FnB in the property. One needs to take membership by paying high membership fees to avail offers and discounts which makes no sense. Free activities arranged by property is not so impressive.

Food options are very poor and quality of food is bad. All restaurants serve mediocre meals but highly priced. Taste of food is not good at all. Breakfast is below average. Need huge improvement in menus and taste of food. Hygiene is another concern, you can find hair on plates or in floor which is not acceptable at all. Various free activities are conducted like free yoga, aqua fitness etc but trainers and under trained and not a good experience. Spa is ok, person in spa doesn’t look experienced and made us choose therapy on our own without explaining about them. Rooms are not sound proof or beach villas. Due to rains while not it was very noisy and could not sleep peacefully.

The resort is stunning, the villas are beautiful, and the turquoise waters are exactly what you dream of when visiting the Maldives. The food exceeded our expectations — every meal was delicious, and the birthday dinner organized for my husband was one of the highlights of our trip. What made the biggest difference, however, was the service. A special thank you to Maria, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. She was always attentive, professional, kind, and genuinely cared about making our experience perfect. Every member of the team made us feel welcome, and any request was handled with care and efficiency. Thank you SO/ Maldives for creating such wonderful memories. Everything was wonderful. The resort is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The staff provided exceptional service throughout our stay and were always friendly and helpful. The only area for improvement would be the food variety. While the quality was good, I would have appreciated more dining options and a wider selection of dishes during the stay

This is my third vacation in the Maldives, and So Island truly stands out with its delicate layout and peaceful private atmosphere compared with other resorts I’ve visited before. We were assigned a Chinese-speaking butler Levi for the entire stay. He took care of our check-in transfer, daily activity arrangement and all sorts of on-island requests with meticulous and all-round service, greatly saving us from communication troubles. There are three unique restaurants across the island, all running on an à la carte system instead of buffet. Every dish comes with hearty portions and impressive tastes made from fresh ingredients covering diverse cuisines. The main restaurant is definitely my top pick, featuring elaborately presented fine food and an elegant dining setting. I also want to express sincere gratitude to Claire working at the main restaurant; her fluent Chinese assistance made our dining experience far more pleasant and hassle-free during the whole trip.

My stay at SO/ Maldives totally exceeded all expectations, absolutely a top-rated resort worth every penny! We took a quick speedboat transfer from Male airport with no tedious seaplane ride, which saved lots of travel trouble. I stayed in an overwater pool villa featuring trendy, avant-garde interior design. The private infinity pool and iconic hanging net bed lead straight down to crystal-clear Emboodhoo Lagoon, and floor-to-ceiling windows frame spectacular sunrise and sunset ocean views all day long. The island is immaculately maintained with powdery white sand. Rich coral reefs surround the resort, so we spotted colorful fish and stingrays easily during casual snorkeling. Multiple on-site restaurants serve fantastic Mediterranean, Levantine and international cuisines with lavish breakfast spreads. Lazuli Beach Club is ideal for evening cocktails with live music and ocean breeze. All staff members deliver warm, thoughtful personalized service. Wonderful amenities including premium spa, ocean-view fitness center and varied excursions like sunset dolphin cruise are available for guests. Blending chic artistic vibe with relaxing tropical getaway and great privacy, this resort suits couples on honeymoon and family vacations perfectly. I will definitely revisit and highly recommend SO/ Maldives to all Maldives travelers!

Went here for my wife and I’s honeymoon. The views were breathtaking. We loved our water villa room and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset. We were welcomed with a happy honeymoon sign on our bed right when we checked in. I wouldn’t mind staying in our room the whole time because the views were always beautiful to enjoy. All the employees here were friendly and welcoming. I also enjoyed how our butler, Ahsan took care of every request we had. He also had made reservations for our itinerary for the rest of the trip. This resort is absolutely amazing with first-class facilities and impeccable service. Every member of the staff shows great professionalism and sincere hospitality, making guests feel at home. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Chinese butler Levi Wang for his meticulous arrangement and caring service throughout our stay. Main restaurant receptionist Claire is elegant and polite. Waiters Sulman and Nema are hardworking and always ready to help. The SPA team KC and Ari have superb professional skills, their service is comfortable and relaxing. Hadaba servers Mahudhee and Zimyan are kind and welcoming. All the employees are devoted to serving guests. It is definitely a fantastic resort worth visiting again.

Our stay at SO has been 5 star in every way. 6 glorious days of snorkeling, swimming, kayaking and dining. First and foremost the hospitality team are exceptional in particular for us, our butler Arshad, Villa attendant Shifaz and waiting staff Claire, Luna, Araily and Maseeh. Each are attentive to your every request, efficient, friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as memorable as possible. The Villa itself is perfect with every possible amenity, enormous circular bath, divine bed that faces your private deck, pool and most stunning sea view with access directly from the stairs on your deck. It really is just like the photo’s!!!! The food is first class with a selection wide enough to please the fussiest palate, with Chef Robby happy to meet any additional requests. The pricing is not for the faint hearted but it absolutely lives up to the hype. We would be happy to return in a heart beat!!

I had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The beaches were absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a very relaxing atmosphere. My experience at SO/ Maldives was absolutely amazing. My husband and I chose the resort as our honeymoon destination and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our choice. From the moment we were picked up at the airport and taken on the boat ride to the island the staff were consistently friendly and helpful and ensured we were comfortable and satisfied with every service they provided. To start with the food was absolutely delicious, we tried every restaurant and always left feeling full and satisfied. There was a huge range to choose from including Lebanese, Chinese and Italian cuisine and we were able to try dishes we had never heard or seen before. Huge shoutout to Chef Robby for his culinary expertise and friendly hospitality we were always pleased to chat with him during breakfast and dinner. Additionally, the resort was filled with fun activities and experiences including snorkelling at a nearby coral reef which was definitely one of the highlights of the entire trip. We were able to see all different types of fishes and sea creatures and the staff were extremely accommodating when I felt a little sea sick and asked to return to the boat. There’s also paddle boats and kayaks available for anyone wanting to explore around the island as well as bikes to help you reach the restaurants, gym and beaches. Additionally, the rooms were very luxurious, well equipped and modern and were definitely worth the price. In fact they were so comfortable I wanted to stay in bed and just enjoy the view some days. The buggies were also super nice specifically on lazy days where we didn’t want to walk or bike around the island. Finally I’d like to offer a huge shoutout to the entire team at SO/ Maldives from the island staff to the boat staff for their exceptional service skills and dedication to ensure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The rooms were nice and comfortable; however, the cleanliness standards need more attention and improvement ( vacuum). While some staff members were helpful, not all were welcoming, and there is room for improvement in hospitality and guest interaction. On a positive note, Wifaq was outstanding and provided excellent service throughout our stay — truly one of the best associates we encountered. Would recommend adding more restaurants/ cuisines.

I’d like to give special praise to all the hotel staff. Our Chinese butler Levi provides incredibly thoughtful and meticulous service. Claire, the hostess at the main restaurant, is warm and cheerful with a beautiful smile. Most of all, I want to commend our housekeeper Ahueem. He cleans the room with great care and attention, coming twice every single day. He truly works so hard. We’ve stayed here for half a month and simply don’t want to leave. This is a relatively new resort, with the coral around it still growing. What we saw snorkelling was some beautiful colour coral, this didn't disappoint. Room was awesome! Only downside was there was no hook for Ur towel in the shower area. Great privacy in our villa pool area as we were not facing the lagoon. We had a little beach area as well though and we could snorkel off that area and to the left in front of the over water villas. Bikes for those who didn't want to walk which is great! BUT for the walkers....these are a bit of a silent assassin - bells would be great to warn those walking that someone is passing and coming up behind you. We had this happen a few times. Meals were fantastic from all 3 restaurant areas. Day spa also amazing albeit a little expensive BUT again, U need to be aware of the PLUS PLUS TAXES as with any resort in the Maldives. Host (Ahsan) was fabulous, anything we needed we got quickly. Waitstaff helpful, chatty and cheerful as are the ground staff as Ur walking around. Would we go again? Yes we would. Total relaxation made for long days! Perfect. The water is stunning 4.8 star purely for those couple little things.

The only downside for us was the extremely high prices for many extras, including food, watersports activities, and transportation, which sometimes made it difficult to fully enjoy everything the resort had to offer without constantly thinking about additional costs. Aside from that, the experience itself was beautiful, relaxing, and filled with wonderful memories that we will always cherish.

I don't even know where to start. Everything was absolutely perfect. After arriving early, they accommodated us immediately after cleaning the room, several hours ahead of schedule. All the staff were always friendly, smiling, and ready to fulfill our wishes (waiters, diving center staff, drivers, cleaning service, etc.). The food was delicious, high-quality, and well-prepared. Special thanks go to Arshad, who immediately arranged for our stay to be extended due to the situation in the Middle East and the impossibility of our departure. From the first moment we stepped into the hotel they started creating weird excuses for charging us and then doubling the price then claiming they made a special discount for us like if we are 4 year old children! very annoying and disrespectful. We felt like dealing with a local market full of scammers not a 5 start hotel (supposedly). We booked a villa that’s written it had 2 twin beds and 2 king beds, when we arrived they said it’s only for two adults and the description is wrong on booking. They made us cancel from booking and book two villas from directly (again claiming they made a discount by charging us same booking rate while in fact they gained more when we pay them directly. It was frustrating and extremely annoying dealing with them, and they ruined our whole first two days talking about this). They charged us for a blanket we put in the balcony and got wet because of rain , AGAIN saying that the actual price is 280 but they made a discount to 140, when the bill comes it was 145, we asked them why? They said it’s tax. What tax is 3.5% in Maldives? Only god knows. They ended it by charging us for photos they didn’t give to us(they remembered to add it to the room bill but forgot to give us, all what they think about is the bill, not the service). We asked them to bring it to airport they refused and said we will ship it. God knows if they will do. We don’t trust them anymore. Highly not recommended. They made us decide it’s last time we go to Maldives.

Les transferts aéroport sont facturés 500 USD aller-retour par personne, alors que l’aéroport est situé à proximité immédiate, que le bateau n’est pas privatisé et que le coût réel du service est sans commune mesure. Le tarif pratiqué est, de façon objective, près de dix fois supérieur au prix normal. À titre d’exemple, un simple verre de champagne rosé est facturé 80 USD, hors taxes et pourboire, ce qui relève d’une politique tarifaire abusive. En résumé, les prix sont excessifs et disproportionnés par rapport à la qualité réelle des prestations, qui demeure très en-deçà des standards attendus pour un établissement de ce standing.

We stayed at SO/ Maldives with our family from 30th December 2025 to 2nd January 2026, and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized and welcoming. The villa was very comfortable, well maintained, and equipped with excellent facilities. We especially enjoyed the variety of food options, with great quality and flavors throughout our stay. The highlight was the New Year celebration, which was fantastic. The event was lively, well planned, and full of entertainment, creating a great atmosphere for both adults and kids. Overall, it was a lovely family holiday, and we created some beautiful memories. We would definitely recommend SO/ Maldives and look forward to visiting again in the future.

We had a fantastic time at SO Maldives. Sue was our host and was the most incredible assistant I have ever experienced at a hotel, always available, developed a lovely relationship with our three year old and even picked her up from kids club to drop her back to our villa. Also arrange a late check out for us before we even had to ask. We will definitely be back and hopefully Sue will be here to make our holiday extra special.

We had 4 nights staying with Amazing view of but not much restaurants so we have to change island for finding food a Limited activities that suit for us but maybe for those people who loves water sports would be a great recommendation

The overall experience was absolutely brilliant. Right from the moment you step in, you are in a different world. The overwater villas are fabulous. Our guest coordinator Arshad was very good for us. Location is close to Male. The massage amenities are amazing - Kadek and Ari were great! The views are amazing, good options are good enough. Overall enjoyed it

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the SO/ Maldives. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. I particularly appreciated chef Robbie and Ana our guest experience concierge for catering to my allergy so that I could enjoy all of the wonderful meals at La Citronelle restaurant. I also recommend visiting the Wellness Camp for a serene beachside yoga session instructed by Pasa.

Its a great place for a honeymoon trip and one of the best hotel among all islands I've been to. Thanks Sue a lot for helping us during the times we staying there and she is really outgoing abd helpful for people first time come here in Maldives. The dinner on Christmas Eve is great and both of us were love it!

Such magnificent beach and ocean villas, we have had an amazing vacation. Special thanks to our wonderful assistant (Ana) who made our stay more comfortable by sharing the activities for each and every day via whatsApp, as well as responding to us so quickly whenever we texted or called her. Make sure to receive all your luggage once you leave the boat that brings you from the airport, as we did not receive two luggage upon arrival. The food is over priced and its below average taste. The dinner might take 45 to 50 minutes to be served. Make sure to receive your bikes’ tags and hang them on your bikes as soon as possible so that other guests will not take your bikes accidentally.

Our butler was amazing Sue she was very kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. She truly made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. The resort itself is very nice, with a great atmosphere and good facilities. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The only thing we wish for is more Asian food options at the resort, which would make the dining experience even better.

Everything was simply perfect at SO Maldives. Beyond the immaculate rooms, the most delicious food , it was the warmth of every single staff that makes this place a dream.

This is a relatively new resort that I have recently discovered. It opened up over 2 years ago and has had its popularity skyrocket over the past year. I stayed here over peak season with my sister and daughter, we all thoroughly enjoyed our time. The staff is friendly and attentive, and willing to try their best to ensure their guests are comfortable. The amenities are new, clean and well taken care of. There are a multitude of activities and the food is superb. From Lazuli to Citronelle restaurant, the service was just impeccable! While this is a spot that has been up until now popularity has predominated amongst couples and adults, the presence of children/ families with kids is growing really fast, as a result there was a shortage of appropriate sized bicycles for all the kids. That is the only downside I can think of in order to give a realistic review. I do believe that this past December was a time when they received their biggest number of children, and the demand for a larger variety of children’s bicycles has encouraged them to have more available. We had the opportunity of having our own personal hostess called Ana Boolaag. We also had our personal assigned housekeeper called Sharif, they both took exceptional care of us. We are fussy bunch but Ana always made time and put in so much effort in meeting our needs.Other than that SO Maldives owes us nothing, we had a lovely time and encourage you all to try it out!! It is great value for money!!

Our stay at SO Maldives was incredible, but what truly made it unforgettable was Ana. From the moment we arrived, every single member of the staff was warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. The entire team clearly cares about what they do, and that positive energy is felt everywhere around the resort. Still, Ana stood out in the most special way. Ana made everything feel easy and personal. She remembered the little things, checked in at just the right moments, and always seemed to know what we needed before we asked. Nothing felt forced or scripted — just genuine care and kindness. The resort itself is stunning — beautiful villas, crystal-clear water, and a relaxed but stylish atmosphere. And while the whole staff played a huge role in making our stay so enjoyable, Ana is the person who truly turned it into something unforgettable. SO Maldives is a beautiful place filled with amazing people, but Ana is the reason we’ll always remember this trip as something truly special.

I would like to share my experience at the Spa. I was assisted by Pasa and Ari! These ladies had such a gentle relaxing touch. My daughter and I instantly fell asleep in their hands. When we woke up we couldn’t believe how refreshed we were!I give them 11/10

This hotel was an absolute disappointment! The room pictures were far from the reality. The toilet smelled like sewage, and despite our request for a fix or a new room, they completely ignored us and never returned. The swimming pool was freezing, and there was no heater, making it impossible to enjoy the villa even on a sunny day. The “butler” assigned to us was mediocre at best. He had no experience as a butler and had incredibly low standards for luxury, which is what the hotel advertises. We booked a stay that included multiple services, but he didn’t inform us about them and was determined to ignore them until I pointed out what was included in my package. The quality of the food in the restaurants was equally poor. The breakfast waiters were clueless, and the buffet had a limited selection. It took about 30 minutes to get an omelette, which was hardly a luxury. The lunch and dinner options were equally disappointing, with a lack of quality and selection. To make matters worse, our flight was at 6 pm, and we requested an extra 2 hours for late check-out until 2 pm instead of the scheduled 12 pm. However, they wouldn’t accommodate our request, even after speaking to the hotel manager. They only gave us until 1 pm, leaving us waiting in the reception from 1 pm onwards. To add insult to injury, they wouldn’t provide a transfer to the airport until 3:45 pm, leaving us sitting in the lobby for 2 hours and 45 minutes. And to our surprise, while we were waiting, we noticed other guests leaving their rooms and coming to the lobby by 3 pm. When we asked them, they revealed that they were actually allowed 3 hours late checkout! Overall, our experience at this hotel was horrible. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I believe that the entire staff and butlers should be replaced or undergo extensive training to improve their service.

Resort was amazing! Food was very good! Room was clean, modern, and the deck views were incredible. So nice to be able to walk out and have your own pool and ocean access. Ana was fantastic she helped me every request we had and made the trip easy and stress free. I would high recommend this resort.

My family and I arrived late at night on 17 December 2025 and stayed for 7 nights. We were met by a helpful, knowledgeable and a kind man Arshad who made sure we were settled in comfortably after a long journey. We occupied Beach Villa 213 and my son occupied Beach Villa 226. The F&B Service Staff at Citronella were amazing, very obliging, very attentive and took care of all our needs despite their active and busy schedule attending to many, many tables. We were overwhelmed by their hospitality and warmth. The cuisine was superb, delicious and varied at Citronella. We were blessed to be personally attended to by Head Chef Robbie and Director of Catering Nyoman. Finally house keeping staff Kabir and Rimon were polite ad very thorough in their cleaning. We had an amazing time at SO Maldives for our anniversary trip. When we first arrived at the airport, they were there to greet us with a sign to a private boat to take us from the airport to our resort. When we arrive to our over the water villa everything was decorated with a bottle of welcome sparkling wine, fruits, and cake. Every Employee was so friendly even the groundskeepers and the maintenance crew would smile and waved at us during the entire trip. The highlight of the trip was both the scuba diving experiences, and the people. Reach me or we would frequently have the same servers for breakfast, lunch, dinner and it is really a testament to how hard the staff works here. Every time they see you, they truly seem excited to see you again. The scuba diving was a seamless process and they allowed us to dive every day that we wanted to go out even at last minute notice. We got to see some amazing underwater, sea life, and some of the best dive sites in the world. Our scuba instructor was consistent through throughout the trip which made us feel very comfortable. The spa was also one of the highlights of a trip and the spa services were very reasonable for higher end luxury resorts in terms of prices. We booked two spa treatments during our trip, but wish we would have booked more as it was very personalized service and perfect for couples. Shifaz did a phenomenal job cleaning our room and every time we would come back from the pool or beach or a dive trip we would have fresh towels, changed linens, and new water awaiting for us. He would check in with us multiple times a day to make sure we did not need anything. Our GEM Ana was fantastic as well and always responded to us very quickly with any questions or concerns and helped arrange meals, scuba trips and boat transfers to crossroads

We have just returned from a 4-day break at SO/Maldives and we had a fabulous break! The resort is gorgeous; small enough to get around by bike (provided of course) but big enough to be able to explore whilst having three different restaurant options, perfect for our short break. It's only a 20 minute speed boat ride from the airport, which suited us perfectly as we didn't want to spend a lot of time travelling. The crystal clear water and white sandy beaches are as you would expect in the Maldives, and there was lovely calm bay on the inside of the resort, and some little coves and beaches on the other side, with slightly choppier water facing Male. The beach villa we stayed in was gorgeous; contemporary and stylish, it had plenty of space and we also got a "capsule" for a second room for our son. Private pool and few steps walk to the beach was perfect. Super comfortable, beautifully appointed and great amenities. The restaurant choices were good; the Italian at Lazuli beach club was nice, albeit there was a bit of a mix of cuisines, and not enough pasta choices for my liking, although the pizzas were good; Citronelle was the spot for breakfast, which was really excellent, and Asian and Western food for lunch/dinner, and was probably our favourite restaurant; Hadaba is in a lovely spot on the resorts coastal edge, and is a very good Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurant, although somewhat pricey for the mezze. The service was really excellent, from the moment we arrived (with waving staff greeting the boat as we arrived at the jetty, White Lotus style!) to our departure; arrival and check-in was seemless, we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and the whole experience felt special. We were taken care of by Sue, who was our host during our stay and couldn't have been more helpful; we had daily updates on activities, she booked our restaurants and watersport activities, was super helpful with everything, and was just so warm and upbeat. She really made our stay special! Even departure exceeded our expectations, with their staff taking care of us during check-out, from embarking to disembarking from the boat, into the airport, through security and even to check-in! We were waived off at the gate by Mohamed Armeen, who had looked after us all the way through. Amazing service. In short, I couldn't recommend SO/Maldives more highly - we had an excpetional time and made some incredible memories. Thank you SO/ Maldives team on looking after us so comprehensively (and for the special arrangement on arrival for my wife's birthday!) and for making our trip so special. Keep up the good work!

I loved staying at SO Maldives. The Overwater villas were beautiful and so was the view! The restaurants were fantastic and the excursions were fun. We also enjoyed our time at the Spa and the wonderful staff. Will definitely be back!

Above and beyond our expectations. The most beautiful resort and location we have ever stayed in. Everything was top quality. The staff made everyone feel special. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our butler Sue was bright, bubbly and super efficient. Nothing was too difficult for her. The rooms were very large and absolutely beautiful. There were so many activities & so many gym classes ( Abdul the fitness instructor was amazing, good fun & motivating) We were provided with bikes to get around the island.

I stayed in the overwater villa room 118, Ana was my host and she was so warm and sweet to us in just span of 3 days she became a close friend not just her the whole staff who remembered small details i didn’t even remembering speaking and making me celebrate and maing sure i was having the best time. Hands down service isnt something that can be bought it can only be felt through repeated actions and So/ maldives nailed it at being the best property and best hospitality. Thankyou Ana and Zelo from reservation team for making this vacation stress free and fun.

We came here as our last leg from our hustle and bustle Christmas market tour in Europe. A way to unwind after living in our suitcases for a week. SO/ was on our agenda since they opened roughly two years ago. We wanted to see what SO/ can offer, and plus, it’s the Maldives. Pros: the island is well kept by what I call the “hidden heroes.” Without these people, the island itself would not look this immaculate. Kudos to the hidden faces of this island. Our room, 316, was well kept and stocked. Our bed was magically made after breakfast and magically turned down after dinner. The cooks and the “behind the scene” people in the kitchen, also part of the unsung heroes, had clean dishes and utensils with phenomenal cuisines that lived up to our expectations. The frontline staffs, Sue, Massi, Luna, and Kadek are quite friendly. Sue greeted us upon arrival and is always happy to help us from arrival to departure. Sue set up all of our schedules such as our dinner reservations to our massage appointments with no hitch or hiccups. Even a buggy ride from our villa to the restaurants was quite speedy. Massi, hopefully I’m spelling his name correctly, was somewhat reserved during our first encounter. But he seemed to loosen up and is quite a swell gentleman. He is helpful and attentive might I add. He remembered that I like my food with spice, Thai chili or Maldivian chili. During dinner he would always remember to bring some Thai chili on the side with my plate. Of course I jokingly told him I flew across the world to have some Maldivian chili and am saddened that they haven’t got any shipment in. Massi said he will see what he can do. Shortly after, Massi brought me the Maldivian chili that I’ve longed for. Superb stretch Massi for going to great lengths for little old me, LOL! Luna too, went to great lengths to give us such excellent service. She asked us questions of what we liked and what she can do to better our stay. We let her have it that evening. But instead of just hearing us out, Luna took it upon herself to oblige our questions and answers. She set up a special dish upon request for breakfast. She also set up another special dish, not on the dinner menu, for our dinner. That is service or what Buzz Lightyear would say, “to infinity and beyond!” because that’s exactly what Luna did. She went to infinity and beyond to make us feel special. Kadek, my three hour massage therapist, has amazing massaging skills. I’ve had many massages in my lifetime and I would have to say that I will compare all my massages to Kadek’s from this moment on. He knew where my tensions were. He concentrated on them tensions. The pressure was perfect. Never too intense where I was uncomfortable or too light where it didn’t justify the tension. Again, the pressure was perfect. I told my wife that if I had an unlimited resource of money, I’d hire Kadek to get a massage everyday. Cons: although everyone, the staffs, that we’ve encountered, there’s absolutely no name tag attached to them. There were only a few handful of staffs that actually introduced themselves to us. For the majority of the time it was just a welcome comment with no name introduction. There should be name tags so guests like ourselves don’t have to guess what to call them. The frontlines, EVERYONE, that are interacting with guests should introduce themselves. Yes, we would like to know the names of the persons that are seating us to our table or taking our orders. As I mentioned earlier, there were only a handful that did introduced themselves, while the majority didn’t. Although the food during dinner was phenomenal, the breakfast on the other hand was quite mediocre to say the least. I felt like breakfast was catered to one population and the rest of the other population are out of luck, they’re stuck with what’s on the menu. It’s fine if someone is only at this resort for a night or two. But like ourselves where we’re staying six days and six nights with the same breakfast every morning, it gets old after the third morning. What I’m trying to say is that there isn’t a wider variety on the breakfast menu for the variety of people that visits this island, SO/. Overall I really did enjoy my stay here at SO/. The island is very well kept by the people behind the scene. The staffs themselves are very friendly. As for the cons as mentioned above, there is always room for improvement as there is for growth. I would not mind coming back to SO/ in five years.

Beautiful island. Loved our villa—#313. Our cleaner—Shivaz was the best I have had. Pleasant, thorough and couldn’t do enough for us. Vishan was also excellent. Very responsive and extremely efficient. Take good care of these two and all of your lovely staff. They make all the difference in the world to make what could be ordinary service and change it to extraordinary❣️

Our stay was a very positive and memorable experience thanks to the outstanding professionalism, care, and attention of the management and entire team. We are traveling as a family with three children, and what impressed us most was the consistently high level of service, genuine attention to detail, flexibility, and respectful approach shown throughout our stay. The management demonstrated a truly guest-focused attitude that made us feel comfortable and well cared for at all times. The large two-storey overwater family villa exceeded our expectations and represented true luxury in every sense — spacious, beautifully designed, and perfectly suited for a family stay. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Shahid, Vishan, and the entire management team for their professionalism, support, and warm, human approach to hospitality. A warm brotherly salam to Shahid and Vishan!! — thank you for your kindness, professionalism, and the genuine care you showed to our family. We would also like to highlight the excellent restaurant service and overall dining experience. The a la carte menus across the restaurants were of very high quality, and we were fully satisfied with the food throughout our stay. The steaks served in the restaurants were outstanding and became a real favorite for our children. The lamb ribs at the Hadaba restaurant were exceptional and truly memorable. Seafood dishes, including shrimp and fish, were also excellent and beautifully prepared. As the kids’ menu was not fully suitable for our children, the restaurant management arranged full meals for them from the regular adult menu from the very beginning. This level of care, flexibility, and attention to our family’s needs made a big difference and was greatly appreciated. Overall, the service level, personal approach, dining quality, and professionalism of the entire team turned our stay into a truly enjoyable and comfortable experience. We are grateful for the warm hospitality and would gladly return.

Our entire experience was nothing short of amazing! We were taken care of from the moment we arrived at the airport with someone there to help us with our bags and escorting us to the boat transfer to the resort. The boat even had free Wifi! Even when we departed to go home, there was someone there to help us check our bags and get our boarding passes for our flights home. The overwater villa was everything and more than we expected! The view was incredible to wake up to every morning. Housekeeping came by twice a day to help keep the villa clean and would replenish towels for us as well as turndown the bed every evening. Getting around the resort was a breeze with buggy rides or using your own bikes that are provided for each villa. The food was some of the best food we have ever had! They have a wide assortment of foods to offer. We really enjoyed the freshly squeezed juices at breakfast! But what really makes this place truly special is the staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and nice. We couldn’t finish this review without mentioning our GEM - Ahsan! He truly made our experience incredible! He was so thoughtful and not only celebrated our honeymoon, but both of our birthdays as well when he didn’t have to. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best trip possible! Not only was he the best GEM to have, he was like a best friend to have the whole week! Overall this has been the best vacation we have ever had! Would 100% recommend this resort to anyone! We hope to return again in the future!

Ahsan our GEM made our trip so much better. He was attentive and a joy to talk to. The beach, the villas, the experiences and the facilities were excellent.

Not much, wish it was a bit more affordable but that’s the case in most Maldives hotels of this caliber.
