Excellent food
Everything was to our expectations enjoyable
Absolutely gorgeous little hotel, clean well equipped room (en suite), menu for the evening had all sorts to choose from and the the food was delicious. Breakfast options available, all presented very well. Only downside and mainly due to me being a very light sleeper, creaking floor boards. Overall I would visit again, staff were very friendly.
All was good
All the food was excellent with a wide menu choice. Comfy room in good decorative order.
A little warmth in the room!
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and a very smart (if a little expensive!) hotel in the centre of the lovely Biggar.
Since refurbishment the photos dont do the property justice The staff were wonderfully accomodating and friendly x
Nothing
We pre-ordered breakfast so we had what we desired at the time we wanted to eat breakfast; and it was served promptly and cheerfully. Having a great restaurant on site was a big plus, since we were just recovering from a long flight from north america. The restaurant was typically hopping with locals The menu was varied and food was excellent.
Everton’s was exceptionally helpful, cheery and accommodating! Couldn’t ask for more.
Great staff and facelities and Great Location Thank you would defo recmend it
The dinner area and tables were small
The breakfast was fine, tailored to my request at check in, but could maybe have provided some marmalade. The room was fine, with a comfy bed and spotless ensuite. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Could only find a few news channels on the room TV and having no BBC although it did have the awful GB News was a bit strange.
Friendly staff and location
Could be better equipped, for example only one chair in our double room
The location and staff were fantastic, the facilities were great.

Lovely little hotel, friendly helpful staff, comfortable room, good dinner and breakfast and conveniently located 👍
The situation and the old building was fab Staff lovely food was great especially the American Evening
Could not get access to outside beer garden
All staff very friendly and efficient. Restaurant was very busy and they worked very quickly. Comfortable accommodation too. We worried about parking out front but it was great.
Nothing
Ideal location, really good food, friendly staff.
Meals
Everything good
Comfy bed Good location. Clean. Welcoming. Breakfast was good. Staff were lovely.
Steep stairs! A couple of biscuits would have been appreciated along with the tea/coffee supplied. Vegan sausages were tastier the second day. Non dairy butter could be offered as well as dairy butter and oatmilk instead of almond milk.
The food was exceptional. Lovely cosy atmosphere. Room was clean
There was a smell of dog in the room when we first opened the door. So opened the window for a bit. Our stay was spoiled by being unable to sleep. Room 6 there is a constant noise of a fan or boiler from nearby, kept us awake all night.
Great location for a stopover from or into the North. Comfortable and clean family room and good breakfast.
My son and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights 28th and 29th July as we were going to a local wedding. The whole stay was great. The room was very clean, beds comfy and ensuite was perfect. The staff were genuinely kind and friendly and happily helpful. We had a cracking breakfast in the newly refurbished dining room which was one of the nicest rooms I'd been in. Overall the stay was great and certainly good value from money. If you like smaller and cosier hotels then this is a good one. It was warm and we were able to have our window open all night with no outside noise which is different to where we live!!!
The food was exceptional, breakfast and lunch. Very welcoming and helpul. Ive used this hotel 4 or 5 times now and never been disappointed. Great little place.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Good.choice of food.
Wallpaper hanging off wall in room. Shower wasn't very good.
Staff were great, the food was excellent and everyone was friendly . Could not improve it at all
Nothing
Staff were friendly some more than others my daughters room was great room 6 and the twin room 8 also ok Beds all comfortable and clean Breakfast fantastic hot and tasty
Room 5 small with a bathroom door that doesnt shut properly and no windiw or fan in there shower didnt drain water ran over toilet flushed then took ages to be able to flush again and only the small flush worked Dust was every where on lamp base side table and tv and in bathroom. No proper wardrobe just a rail with 2 hangers and a open hole above we got the feeling the room was unfinished If you like to go to bed early this room not for you as it looks out on to the beer garden a little noisy
De cafe
Donkere kamer met geen venster ,alleen dakkoepel, slecht bed ,geen verluchting
The breakfast was good. Not many options but good quality.
Nothing in particular
Everything about the hotels was great, the location was perfect for what we needed to be in the city early.
Other than the Pubs, Biggar closes at 9.00pm Advise if arriving late eat earlier en-route.
good food good bar good staff everything about it spoke efficient.
Great location and clean. Staff friendly and attentive.
Had to put kettle on the floor to be able plug it in. Shower flooded but was fixed quickly.
The location and its well presented
Nothing
The comfort, the stuation, the quietness, the equipment at our disposal, everything.....
Can't think of anything that could have been better
Exceptional facilities, great food menu with first class ingredients and excellent value for money.
Cannot fault this place.
Location in lovely town surrounded by beautiful countryside. Excellent food and beautifully refurbished within past couple of years. Sunny beer garden
Another excellent stay, never fails to please. Was lovely seeing the refurbished bar, so stylish and comfy. As weather glorious we sat in very sunny beer garden for our drinks. The effort put in for the hanging baskets is fab, so colourful. The whole of Biggar is filled with flowers...we enjoyed a brilliant meal in comfy dining room..my gammon steak was excellent and I found out the following morning the butcher next door supplies them..highly recommend. Service fab as always, great prices, very comfy quiet room at back of hotel. Will definitely return. Biggar is just the loveliest of town set in stunning countryside.
Friendly staff, top class breakfast!
Nothing not to like!
Went for a family dinner last week - food was admittedly average but not an outrageous price. However, i informed them that i was celiac and would require gluten free food. They had plenty options on the menu and I opted for a burger on a gluten free bun. Within about twenty minutes after eating , i became incredibly unwell and it was clear that my meal had not been celiac safe. Would not recommend for celiacs
The breakfast was fantastic.
Nothing
Location
Only 1 coffee mug in the room despite 2 people staying
Good location, with parking. Staff were friendly. Rooms and bathroom were nice.
The bed was small and I was positioned by the beer garden so it was a bit noisy but the noise did stop at night.
Location was perfect for the Biggar Django jazz festival. We even had some jam gigs in the Beer garden. Excellent breakfast.
Kettle needs a socket nearer the stand. Current situation liable to cause kettle to fall.
Location and food. Great breakfast and friendly staff.
Nothing
Great location, fantastic warm welcome from Michael. Room was clean & airy.
Nothing - all good!
Freundlicher Empfang, sehr gutes Essen und schöne Lage im Ortskern
Klospülung ging nicht und die Betten sind ziemlich weich
Excellent location , rooms lovely and excellent standard
All good no complaints
Staff were very friendly. Cooked breakfast was excellent and there was other options available.
Nice staff and breakfast
Not clean (hairs in the shower) and not safe (window locks didn’t work). Carpets smelled terribly in the hallway. Expensive for the quality. Holiday Inn is cheaper and cleaner.
Very welcoming staff, spacious room with good amenities, very clean.
Nothing
Lovely modern rooms, staff very welcoming and accommodating, allowed us to check in 1 hour early to attend a nearby wedding
Breakfast was a little early (7am-9am)
Lovely staff
Walls are thin. It's a little bit shoddy.
The hotel is located on the High Street in Biggar. We were attending a wedding and this was convenient. The hotel staff are very friendly and always willing to help with any requests and questions we had. Dinner in the restaurant on the first evening was very good - chicken & haggis and my wife had fish and chips. The rooms were quiet and comforable.
While the bedroom and common areas were clean and tidy, it is all a little dated. Bedroom furniture has seen better days.
Fantastic little hotel with lovely staff, I keep going back.
Nothing.
Just right for where I wanted to be on the 28th May, Very comfortable and excellent B Fast

Lovely staff Comfortable room Inviting bar/restaurant area Great breakfast
Lovely breakfast
Room a bit small but beautiful
Breakfast very nice Location very good 👍
Happy with my stay
Friendly staff. Restaurant. Location. Parking...although no private car park, it was no issue getting parked. Kids loved the bunk beds. Shower.
Noisy pipework during the day (possibly since we had a room near the bar and restaurant toilets)....although it was quiet overnight.
Excellent breakfast
Great location in the centre of town with free parking right outside. Room was at the back and quiet, breakfast was lovely and a good choice of cooked and continental. Service from the staff was so friendly and helpful. Restaurant menu was large and food was great. Would definitely go back.
Nothing!
Really nice
Staff very friendly
Such friendly service. Great location. Enjoyed the food.
All good
Everything. Had a really lovely 2 night stay as we had a wedding near by
Nothing I didn’t like
Staff are great - friendly and welcoming, food excellent, with good allergy awareness. The twin room was slightly small, but well organised with space to store luggage etc.
Lovely staff quality breakfast
Creaky floorboards
The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were very attentive
No hooks on the back of doors for coats or towels. Also a full length mirror would be a good addition
The beds were really comfy, the bathrooms were okay, the shower was a little slow but it was okay.
Nothing really
Staff were lovely. Breakfast was good (with the exception of coffee). Bed was comfy. Key for late access.
Bathroom tired. Wood rotting. No frosted window in bathroom. Window right at shower and window overlooks the beer garden. Could have done with bottled water in room. Room was noisy- room next door slammed door throughout night and floor boards creak through, which was very noisy through the night. I think it was the dog walking back and forth?
Breakfast ad location were good
Staff really friendly. Location perfect.
Lack of cleanliness in room and corridors. Musty smell in corridors, definitely need repainting and a deep clean. Bathroom could have been cleaner Area looking out of bedroom 6 window left a lot to be desired, didn't Instill confidence, especially as fresh had been delivered there and left outside . Dirty condiments holder at breakfast. Really disappointed
Excellent friendly establishment and well run.
Nothing.
We booked a Family Dinner last night and from the moment we arrived the staff could not be more friendly or helpful. The food was excellent.
Relaxed atmosphere friendly staff excellent food and service

Fantastic food served by attentive staff in a relaxed atmosphere

The staff, location, cleanliness and food were excellent.
We were staying in a party of 8 across 3 rooms. One of the couples in our party had a very nice double room however through the night they did not sleep very well due to some sort of constant noise from an extractor fan somewhere in an adjacent room.
Lovely clean comfortable hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff friendly and helpfull.

The locations
Squeaky floor boards in bedroom
Rooms very nicely decorated, breakfast staff very friendly and welcoming, decent breakfast
Room looked out over beer garden with kegs everywhere and a real mess below window, would not take a lot to tidy up outside area as very off putting . Loud hum all night made it difficult to sleep, possibly from boiler or heating - room 6
Central location for exploring Biggar in a traditional pub. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The standout of the stay was undoubtedly the staff who were very welcoming and friendly
Would love breakfast to be served at least until 9.30am just felt 7.30-9am was a little early
the staff is great.
No window could be open
Breakfast was excellent location perfect
Great location, fabulous staff!
Fantastic service from the friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast & dinner.
All the staff are friendly and couldn't do enough for you - nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are very clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was great - choice of cereals, fruit salad, fruit juices and the full English breakfast was amazing - always arrived piping hot 😁 Would definately stay here again.
Liked everything!!
From the moment we arrived at an on street free parking space at the entrance door we received a friendly welcome before being shown to our room. Well appointed with all the usual facilities - clean & tidy with lovely bedlinen, plenty hanging space, en-suite shower, kettle for tea/coffee making, wall mounted TV viewable from seating or bed and sockets for charging technology. Excellent lunch & evening menu available beside the log fire in the cosy dining room and lovely breakfast made to order. Suggest a foldable suitcase stand in the room could be a welcome addition?
