Very clean, food was very good, room service was very good also. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We will surely come back
Really impressive resort. We visited in mid sept which is the slow season and it was great. The resort has a lot for its guests to enjoy. Nice large rooms all with ocean views. There are three pools, two outside bars, inside bar and club. Most the time we had the entire adult pool to ourselves. You have access to the resort next door, it was nice to stop for a drink when walking on the beach. There is a cafeteria style restaurant and the food was really good. They changed it up everyday which was nice. Traditional local dishes, and lots of other options like salad bars, sandwich bars, breakfast bars and pastry bars. Great Cafe onsite with fresh ground drinks. One day they did a seafood "feast", lots of options and they were cooking whole seasoned fish. The resort also has three very nice, reservation only restaurants. The Asian restaurant was great. Fresh seafood and creative dishes to give guests lots of variety. The resort has a list of daily activities for guests to sign-up for. Employees that host the activities work hard to make them fun and enjoyable. We had Natalia on several adventures and she was great, full of energy and very positive. Be sure to sign-up for the bike ride, they take through an Eco park in the jungle on a great flat path. For a change, we walked down the beach and caught the water taxi to Ixtapa Island and had the back side of the island to ourselves all day. Great food and snorkeling while relaxing all day in lounge chairs. Definitely recommend!!
Excellent property! Excellent view and staff was amazing! Shout out to Elena in food & beverage. We reported a miss understanding to her and immediately felt the love and willingness to rectify the situation! Would definitely go back! Also, the Spa was amazing!
GUAUUU IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTEL IN IXTAPA THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD AND THE TEAM ARE SO PROFESSIONAL I RECOMMEND THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE
It's a nice resort. The food wasn't so great.
Had to pay for things that we did not even use and the payment was a ridiculous amount for the said things that we had done. Tried to explain to a manager and they said there was nothing they could do. I will never be staying here again. The food also was not the quality I expected for all the money I paid
Hospitality was amazing food was delicious also, amenities.
The ac never works within the common areas, it was super uncomfortable
They need to have the shows inside the hotel instead of having them on the hotel nearby because it is a little inconvenience and hard some times because of the heat conditions In general the staff is friendly and helpful except with some few people
Beautiful
Fantastic hotel. Probably the best we've ever been at. Highly recommend.
overall just what I expected and that was very good! This is the 4th time we spent time at the Azul Grand. We like having the upscale service and dining options that the Grand offers, while still having the access to pool, food, drinks, and beach of the regular Azul next door.
Room was lovely. Special dining was very good the reservation woman was unfriendly and unhelpful. We simply went to the restaurants, spoke with the Capitan and were seated. But the reservation office just said dining rooms were full but each night we went they were not at all full. Day dining was only at one buffet or the small snack area which we found very disappointing. No sit down restaurant was an option. Layout of public areas was poor because there were no ocean view areas for dining or tables and chairs for sitting outside near pools.
Excellent 4 night stay at Azul Grand. Service in every department was prompt, friendly, and met all our needs. The views and sunsets are amazing. Beautiful pools and spa. Make sure you reserve speciality restaurants early in your stay to take advantage of the choices. Very close to Isla Ixtapa ferry and Playa Linda. Only notes I have is the hotel should consider adding more furniture to the large balconies and reduce the amount of bright (almost blinding) white light in some areas and restaurants. Overall highly recommend this hotel.
Good value - had a great week. A couple of suggestions-provide “do not disturb” signs for the room (being woken up with a very insistent knock at the door is annoying) and make sure that clients know they have access to your sister hotel “Hotel Azul” (a nice feature).
Very good property however food quality was very poor
Thank you! Beautiful stay. We felt that some of the staff could be a little more friendly.
The bar staff was amazing!!! Wet bar ask for Abel
Great place to spend a weekend
Staff members were very nice
👍
This property is beautiful! 3 pools, sparkling clean! Food was the best I've had at an all inclusive resort! The activities were wonderful! Biking, kayaking, snorkeling, full gym with classes. I loved this resort!
Our family, consisting of my husband, our 17-year-old daughter, and myself, spent our spring break at the Grand Azul Resort from March 9th, and it was an unforgettable experience! Even though the resort was fully booked and busy, it never felt overcrowded or hectic. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like returning guests, with the staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The resort itself was incredibly comfortable and offered plenty of activities for us to enjoy. The amenities were top-notch, from the beautiful pools to the delicious dining options. We were so content with everything the resort had to offer that we only left the Azul properties once to explore downtown Ixtapa and Zihua. It’s rare to find a place that feels so relaxing yet full of life at the same time, and Grand Azul Resort provided the perfect balance. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly destination with fantastic service.
The room had a very nice layout with a Jacuzzi tub in the center. The beaches were beautiful and clean and the infinity pool was fabulous. Our maid Vero was very pleasant and always made nice towel animals for our daughter. I would recommend this property to anyone and we may stay here again.
The property is aging but was clean. It was an inconvenience that they did not exchange USD to peso, only CAD. The buffet was standard and nothing special, but the specialty restaurants were excellent. Pools were very nice.
Everything was very nice
Al a carte restaurants had poor food quality and limited restaurant selections. Resort itself is very well maintained. Too many children and noisy.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome! Gethsemane helped us with our luggage and after we checked in, he took us up and gave us a tour of our room, how to use the AC / Sauna / Jacuzzi Tub / other services. The mini bar was stocked with Tecate, water and sodas. Isabel maintained our room and left us little surprise towel critters on our bed and on the bathtub. She was super friendly and responsive. The view off our balcony was impressive and such a great way to relax, whether eating breakfast with room service or just drinking and relaxing in the evening. The Buffet was okay, but had a lot of options, I understand they have a large and varied palet to cater to. The 3 restaurants we tried as part of our week long stay, where amazing. Marion was our server and she was detailed and kept our drinks filled. We didn't do many of the activities on site, but enjoyed the pool and pool side bar service. Short walking distance on a really cool boardwalk over to the pier to go to Ixtapa island.
This was my second time at AZUL. The buffet food is excellent. The a la carte could improve their menu. I would recommend this resort to families due to the selection of swimming pools. Adults, kids, and the general pool are all fantastic.
Everyone was great! They were friendly and attentive. The facility was very nice and well kept up. The food was very good at all sources.
Food was fantastic. Beach at and around the resort. Two different hotels to go between.. great musical shows and pools.
The games room continually had kids there AFTER 9PM. The Aqua fit always started late or finished early. Never 30 minutes
The need of currency exchange Only reason I didn’t give an excellent on cleanliness Is during our 7 night stay didn’t get a sheets change
I disliked the kids in the game room after 9pm. I did not like that there often was no lifeguard in the adult pool to get rid of the kids in the all adult pol
all
Not an adult resort as mentioned, lots of kids, lots of noise in rooms, hallways and everywhere
Loved everything
I think this property is lovely. The staff are super attentive and friendly, the food was excellent, the views from the room are unmatched, and it felt so safe. I would have given it 5 stars, except they didnt have a lot of different show options, the pools closed really early and there wasnt a lot to do in the evening. The hotel is pretty far from town so if want to do anything at night you have to leave the hotel. Otherwise it was amazing!
I will never visit that place. Was charged extra for waiting at lobby for my flight
Excellent place!! Clean, friendly, great food-everything you need for a fantastic holiday! Would definitely go back!
The staff was wonderful. Rooms were very nice. Quite far from anything. Need to take bus or taxi. Beach was not walkable. Very rocky. Two kinds of beer. A light (takate) and a dark beer(not sure name) no smoking anywhere on grounds or beach. Need to walk to street out front of hotel on street. Not much of a nightlife as only one lobby bar after 4pm. Pool bar closes at 6pm. One musical show at night at sister resort at 8:30pm. Dogs are welcome. Always keep your pool towel receipts each day. Tried to charge us 50 Us$'s at checkout. But i had all receipts. Food is very good and specialty restaurants very good. Really liked shrimp kabobs at bbq/steakhouse but they don't tell you they have them. Just ask! Great stay but very very hot and humid and far from everything.
Beautiful property, great food, excellent service
The property was beautiful. Service wasn’t the best. Never stocked the refrigerator unless you asked. Had to ask for towels. Plus we got things stolen at the pool area. That was very disappointing
Beautiful property and great food. Problems: 1) No shuttle service to other property where the entertainment is at night. 2) Pool is very cold. 3) No entertainment at night so it got pretty boring.
I didn’t like the few choices for dinner at night. The refrigerator was not stocked like advertised. The property was beautiful.
Excellent location, amazing view! Staff is very friendly. The only issue is that you can’t book the restaurants that you want, because there is a limit of them. We went for 7 nights and only allowed 3 restaurants, the other days had to be in the buffet. (Disappointed).
5 stars
Service was poor
This is all inclusive hotel, but it is difficult to make a reservation at the restaurant, and the buffet food in particular is the worst.
The staff was truly amazing
property 10 out 10 food 7.5 out of 10 staff 10 out of 10
We did find a couple cockroaches in the room, which was disheartening
Clean and well appointed hotel with a very friendly staff. Lot's of great options on the buffets. The specialty restaurants left a bit to be desired. Their availability was limited and the staff seemed rather stretched to handle the the customers they had. While it was nice to have an occasional "sit-down" meal, the food quality was actually below what we found at the buffet. The only other issue we had was our in-room refrigerator did not work and was not repaired or replaced during our stay.
The scenery is beautiful. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Did not like all the stairs and the beach was too small. Food was kind of blah.
It advertises kayaking and sailing but neither was available. Resorts on either side had both.
Wonderful resort. Amazing views of the ocean in every room.
t was our first time in Zihua/Ixtapa and we had a lovely time at this resort. If you're looking to be in the thick of either town, this resort is a ways from both but accessible by taxi. It is perfectly situated to enjoy Isla Ixtapa, Playa Linda, etc. When I booked, I saw that this was rated a 5-star hotel, I'd say it's solidly a 4-star hotel after our visit. The good: * amazing view from our room - we were on the 23rd floor right below the penthouse suites and the views were amazing. miss the gorgeous view and people watching. Initially, we were on a lower floor but I just asked if there was anything higher available - just ask nicely! * the food - generally solid food at the specialty restaurants - italian, bambu asian fusion, the steakhouse BBQ, the oysteria and I thought the buffet options (especially lunch) were solid * the service was generally great - we both speak a bit of Spanish and were able to converse with the team and they really appreciated the gesture and that maybe improved our services. special shout out to: Vale, Tatiana, Yair, Tono, Alejandro, Alberto, Cinthia and Beatriz The not so good: * limit to specialty restaurant reservations - this wasn't clear to us at check-in but even staying for 7 days, we were limited to only 3 official reservations during our stay. * limited restaurant availability - la cevicheria is only open certain days, this should be clearer chair reserving - this was insane to see. all that said, we had fun and would come back!
They were working on the floor above us, our room smelled like varnish. Not much of a beach out front of the property, not a lot of activities at the property.
Nice place. Mostly Spanish speaking.
Did not like that no shops or dining were near hotel. Great service in the morning from Adi the server. We were not informed of 2 outside social events ( bbq dinner and seafood luncheon ) that were held. We were not allowed into sea food luncheon even though it was towards the end and plenty of food was available
The property and staff are amazing. The buffet food was very good. I've been to other properties in Ixtapa and the food was by far superior compared to the others. The only downside and reason for a 4 star verses a 5 star is that the beach is small. We normally like to do a morning beach walk. This is not possible at this location. They do have a board walk along the ocean which is nice and you can walk the street side as there is a nice wide sidewalk. But beach walking is not possible. If beach walking is not top of your list, then do not hesitate to stay here. You will not regret it. We plan to be back. I just miss my beach walking.
The Azul Grand is absolutely stunning, every room has and ocean view, the hotel is very minimalistic but not negatively, every aspect is meant to draw your attention to the outside and surrounding! The staff was friendly, kind and accommodating! Food on the other had was fair, the restaurants were hard to book and honestly the food was mediocre to say the least! The all inclusive food buffet was ok, lots of amazing fresh fruits which was nice, but the variety was only ok! The is a gorgeous board walk from the Azul Grand to the Azul, the oyster bar restaurant at the Azul was totally a 5 Star experience! I could have eaten there 5 nights in a row! The lack of drink variety was also poor! Very minimal in options but we made due! The pools were beautiful, I wish the gorgeous infinity pool was adults only so we could enjoy the view with out the kids screaming! The “adult” pool had no view but no kids screaming made it ok! Overall it was good!
Hace muchos años un gran hotel, hoy en día perdió todo su valor, no hay variedad de cena ni comidas, sin sabor, las sábanas con cucarachitas, tembló de 6.5 de magnitud y no sonó la alarma sísmica, una vergüenza
We loved our stay at the Azul Ixtapa Grande! It was so quiet when we were in our room and the view from our room was incredible. The fine dining restaurants were great and there was good food at the general buffet. The staff...everyone and everywhere....were excellent, so attentive and ready to serve! Make sure you tip frequently because they deserve it!
What a great place to stay! Great food, amazing service and a beautiful view! The pools are the nicest I’ve seen. And I’ve been to 20 resorts.
Very nice facilities and there are many food options. Clean and good service. The only negative is that there were supposed to be sealing boats and kayaks and snorkeling available, but the hotel cancelled them due to dangerous marine wildlife, although other hotels in the area didn't have restrictions.
Lo venden como todo incluido y es falso restringen mucho los horarios de alimentos y bebidas
Roberto el Manito is amazing! Truly reflects the hotels!
Luis was great at the Lobby
Probably one of the nicest all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. Rooms are huge with exceptional views. Staff are friendly. Service was amazing. Karaoke at night was too much fun! Attention to detail for the grounds was amazing. We look forward to another trip here!
We loved our stay at Azul Grand! The food was impressive and the staff were so nice and welcoming!
An amazing property with great staff! It will be on our list to come back! Once again...great staff!
We enjoyed every single day.
Everything was beautiful and relaxing. A great start to me and my cousin holiday vacation.
Dogs are welcome now which is a nice touch...but when you get several in the buffet and they start barking IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. Some of the servers are welcoming and helpful but most have no English and it is frustrating tryi g to get information. Aqua fitness continues to start late and finish esrly. The instructor continually looks at her wtch..not impressed.barking
The Aqua fit is a lark. The time to start is not 12noon as advertised. The gals star 12:10 ish if they show up at all.
Great stay!
The infinity pool needs to be changed back to adults only. Have no idea why small children in floaties are allowed in an infinity pool. Very difficult for adults with mobility issues to enter the pool because if all the children playing in the shallow area and on the stairs. This really needs to be remedied.
Good size rooms food was good and plentiful
Great couples place to stay! The food could be better, but the drinks are worth it.
The hotel was very nice, the view is incredible, food was delicious, activities and shows were great, kayaking to the island and sailing are also included, maybe they can add an air hockey table to the family room and a room for teenagers with video games, overall great vacation!
They tried to upgrade my room. I didn’t pay extra. So I was put in a room that smelled like mold.
Spacious, quiet rooms, excellent gym and friendly staff. Sub-standard buffet with stale waffles, dry eggs an no bacon, tiny beach, no evening entertainment and isolated with nothing within walking distance. Issue with check-in that made us pay 200 pesos per night for Wi-Fi that was supposed to be included per their website. Bad way to begin our stay.
We stayed at the Azul Grand Hotel for 5 nights and 6 days Check in was straight forward, they did put us in a double bed instead of 1 king like I selected in Expedia, they informed there was no rooms available had to wait one day for us to switch rooms, they also tried to upsell us on premium wifi and the master suite, but the hotel had wifi ready for every inch of the hotel🤔 Room was clean and great only had one issue with the jacuzzi not working maintenance had to come in and repair the water pump, other then that room was great and the view was incredible, btw almost nothing included in the room just basic shampoo and soap, bring your own tooth paste, tooth brush etc. They did have a store downstairs that sold everything for a good price. Food was amazing, the buffet was tasty and had different options everyday we loved the 3 specialty restaurants food was very good. Drinks were kind of watered down not too sure how much alcohol they put in. Spa was nice and had decent prices, we did a masaje and facial for 160$ for two people. They had a sauna and an ice bath, which was a nice touch. Overall compared to other all inclusive resorts I been in (Cancun,Playa de carmen, Puerto Vallarta) Grand Azul was a good value for what you get everyone was so nice and friendly.
This is the 4th time we have stayed here, with a large gap during Covid of course. Things seem to have changed from customer-focused, to money-grabbing practices towards repeat non-local guests. Dining staff at the buffet, restaurants and pools were great, however, with check-out procedures never once explained to us and certainly handled differently than our last stays at Azul Grand, we were forced to pay $1,400 pesos at 2PM even though we vacated our guest room at check out time of noon. We stayed in the cool of our friends room until it was time for a taxi to the airport at which time we were accused of staying late in our room. The resort is far from busy, and even though we did not even arrive to stay until a full 48 hours after we were due to check in, thanks to a failed Westjet Connection, the Supervisor on Duty Saturday Yazael literally demanded we pay this ridiculous late fee.
Great place, hospitality was amazing. Lots of activities at the resort. The view is amazing.
The hotel food was one of the best food for buffet style that I ever experienced
Excelente propiedad
The rooms had unobstructed ocean view. Very clean and tidy rooms, super friendly staff. One thing we found annoying was that the elevators seem to take a long time to reach our floor. One of the activities at the resort is mountain biking, Vladimir our guide did a great job on the 13’s km ciclopista(bike trail) near the resort through the jungle. Strongly recommend it overall a great experience.
Sigue teniendo un nivel alto en la calidad del hotel y sus servicios
Resort was OK but not for the amount we paid to stay. The restaurants had very limited availability and the food selection was not great
staff was amazing and the included activities such as kayaking and snorkeling were the best!!
The services were great! Nice clean rooms with ocean view, safe walking trails, good food, at night there is a lounge bar with karaoke for 1 hr and then becomes a discotheque where you can dance to any kind of music you request. We had a great time.
Everything was incredible.
Stay was nice and relaxing.
We had a great time. Just pillows had a little odor.
We’re really don’t feel the a/c unit in the lobby.
This was our 2nd year staying at Azul Grand for our annual girls trip to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is always clean and inviting. We love to stay here.
