A very nice hotel, central for Doncaster. Very friendly and professional staff, the rooms are big and clean with freshly changed towels etc (not something you get often these days) and it’s just very stylish with its Art Deco them and history.
Great stay
The ground floor bar and restaurant was well decorated. We looked at the 2nd floor suites which are very art deco in their execution but very glitzy. Room could do with a refurb but everything you could need was there. The best part of the stay though was the restaurant food. We were assured it was all freshly cooked and it was excellent. We had Dinner and Breakfast and both were great as was the service for both meals.
Excellent as always. Such a wonderful art deco theme and feeling.
Lovely hotel, great room and friendly staff.
Lovely hotel, have stayed before now needs a bit of paint here and there and shower head needs replacing in room 314, but have to say it’s just a bit of maintenance required nothing else
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bar person was polite and waiting staff helpful food was good. The room was a little tired ring marks on a bedside table, some scratches on rest of furniture and chairs were uncomfortable. We had a superior family room extra pillows would have been useful and glasses that had milk left in them were not washed by the maid and had to be got rid of by guests no clean glasses were provided this was not appreciated. A bar in the shower would be useful as one of the guest found it very difficult and had a fear of slipping. The location of the hotel was excellent . We would plan a revisit the points raised could be easily rectified .
It's a great hotel with friendly staff and good food. (food is a little pricy)
Met our expectations and enjoyed the stay. Happy to recommend
Room at front of hotel. Quite noisy. Ask for one at rear
Me and my partner stayed here for the St Leger Ladies Day at Doncaster
Sat in the bar for evening drinks and was so cold, no heating on, had to sit with a coat on Stairs and corridors needed a good hoover
Couples stay and visit to the races
Excellent room and service provided. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant.
Nothing to complain about. Clean and cheerful.
Clean and convenient
The receptionist bar and restaurant was impressive. When we went to the bedroom there was the let down the furniture needed a definite upgrade, through the night i was awakened by loud noises from above which continued for at least 20 minutes it wasn't just footsteps which the receptionist suggested, i know what i heard so not very helpful.
We loved our stay in this beautiful art deco hotel. All the restaurant and bar areas are nicely decorated and our room had everything we needed. We stayed here for a family wedding and really enjoyed our trip.
Room n bed was comfy n breakfast was nice n would definitely stay again
Decent rooms and hotel. Air con did not blow very cold which was frustrating.
Stayed here several times and it’s always very pleasant. Beds are comfortable and the bar is reasonably priced. The art deco features and installations are really fun.
Love the decor for this property we had a great anniversary stay
A really lovely hotel with very friendly staff
.
Good parking facilities hotel very clean staff helpful and pleasant
Food excellent, room spacious, service and staff welcoming, art deco fabulous
I have stayed at the Earl many times over the decades. The staff haven't changed and i think this is an indication of how well the hotel is ran. The ladies on reception and breakfast are lovely. This time we had room 406, lovely big room overlooking carpark. Very quiet. Highly recommend
The room was ready on arrival, they gave us an upgrade (our party had 3 rooms, they upgraded all 3 rooms) The staff are very friendly it was a great stay.
You have many options when looking in Doncaster but looks no further I stay on a regular bases for a night and the staff are great so is the food and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Lovely and everyone was kind.
Lovely decorated property in art deco style. Staff friendly and helpful, food was great too. We had evening meal and breakfast here.
Lovely hotel general toilets could do to be cleaned regularly and room in top floor was a bit tired tv not working repeorted it on the day we arrived but not looked at
Enjoyed our stay will definitely be back.
Nice quiet area and convenient to walk into the town
Everything was great for our two night stay especially the aircon as it was so hot when we were there
MY WHOLE STAY WAS BRILLIANT. I SHALL BE BACK.
This Hotel is absolutely brilliant. I love the decoration thats around.the hotel. the old hotels are the best. everything was spotless. loved my stay i just wish it had been longer. beautiful breakfast.all done with silver service. great.
From check in to check ouy everything was fantastic we had a deluxe room it was amazing.. the whole hotel is amazing well worth a vist
Lovely art deco interior and very helpful staff Got busy with a wedding on the Saturdaywhen it would have been helpful to have a room further away from the reception and we couldn’t get served in the dining room.
Retro hotel, nice enough but won't be to everyone's tase.
Very supriced lovely hotel rooms large staff friendly 15 minutes to town walking in a straight line will go back as we stayed 1 night would like to stay longer
Hotel was nice got upgraded due to our original room been over ball room and noise. Room big spaces thr room was warm and couldn't open window or door due to safety. Very art deco
Wonderful desk clerk. Could not have been more helpful. Room was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.
Been a number of years since I last stayed at the Earl, but will be my go to when in the area for sure. Rooms were comfortable, well equipped and in immaculate condition. Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and breakfast was incredible. Special shout out to the eggs royale, lovely to have some healthy breakfast choices along with the usual full English - which looked equally good! Many thanks to all!
On arrival the outside seating area looked ready for a refresh and then the reception seemed disinterested in our arrival so not a good start. When I asked the receptionist if I should pay now she said now or later it's up to you so I paid then. She informed me that there were two lifts and we could use either so I asked which was the closest to our room as my sister has mobility issues, she said there was the same distance between so it didn't matter which we used, but later on we discovered that the second one, the one we didn't use, was literally a dozen steps from the room whereas the one we used entailed much more walking than that, the receptionist should have told us that. However, she did offer to get us a taxi and gave us some information about where we were going. After that we found the bar staff very good indeed, the cleaners pleasant and helpful. We also loved the full on art deco design! Our twin room was spacious with a good walk in shower and a roomy bathroom. Plenty of clothes storage, good towels and toiletries and comfy beds. The cleanliness was excellent throughout. Therefore we would return but do think one receptionist could do with a little more training. The other two I came across were professional, friendly and helpful.
Lovely staff
Alway great service
Once you get past the glitz of the reception this is a great hotel. Worth spending a little extra to get a bigger room with a better view. Staff were lovely. Food was awful!!
An old fashioned hotel in the best possible sense - all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very good value.
Very expensive for service and the property
All good
Nice hotel and a very nice room very clean
Promised car parking within the hotel was not available. Had to park on the street outside. Not what I expected!
A beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. We enjoyed our stay.
Brilliant Hotel and Staff
Always a great stay at the earl
Paid for an executive room but I am afraid it was not acceptable. The hotel has sealed the windows in the room and the only ventilation is from the a/c. Upon entering the room we were overwhelmed with the intense heat that has built up. We switched on the air con and set it to the fast speed and coldest temp. 2 hrs later and the room was still very hot. We tried another room and it was the same situation. Even worse in fact because the 2 hrs we spent in the first room was watered. We had to start over again. I had to ask reception for a fan and they did give us a fan that helped.
Great service at checkin and in the restaurant. Lovely room - lovely large four poster bed. Unique experience. We only stayed for the night so I can’t sisal to location but we felt safe and easy parking during our trip - thank you
Excellent stay at Earl of Doncaster, staff cant do enough to help.
Great place for visiting the races, great location
Quick friendly check in, quirky 20’s Art Deco reception, bar and rooms. Bed very comfy and shower nice and big. Local restaurants a short walk away, I didn’t eat or use the bar at the hotel Only downside room quite noisy due to traffic, and due to early meeting I couldn’t have breakfast
I loved the art deco style of the hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
As always a fantastic hotel in every way. It’s like a journey back in time. I can’t recommend The Earl enough.
The stay was brilliant, really helpful staff. Great bar area and very close to the racecourse, we would definitely stop here again.
Lovely hotel and fabulous breakfast. We will be returning soon
This hotel has stunning Art Deco decor, very competent & friendly staff, rooms very comfortable if a little too warm & no window to open for a bit of fresh air but everything spotless,we would definitely stay here again & recommend it
Parking in their car park difficult, insufficient spaces and spaces that were available very tight.
Amazing experience, food was beautiful and the room was so good with excellent view. Staff were also so polite and helpful and made sure we were well looked after. The robot singing happy birthday to me and my dessert place was our of this world. This made my birthday so amazing, would definitely come back. .
Staying here as the reviews looked good and it’s near the hospital where my partner’s dad is very poorly. The staff can’t do enough for us, they are so accommodating and friendly. We’ve actually just extended our stay for another evening. The hotel itself is beautiful too and the room is large and confortable and clean. Thank you staff! You’re brilliant!
As always- perfect for us.
Very disappointing, when arriving the room was dirty, and had dirty underwear in it from a previous guest.
arrival at check-in we were sent to our room, only to find it was still being cleaned.directed back to the lobby, where we had to wait with our luggage. Given the inconvenience, we expected at least a complimentary drink as a goodwill gesture, nothing was offered. Instead, my partner was mistakenly charged £9 for a non-alcoholic wine, which was later corrected to £6 after we pointed out the error. Service at the bar was slow, waiting 15 minutes to be served and we waited nearly an hour before our room was finally ready. When we were allowed up, the cleaner was still in the room. Given our mobility issues, and the long wait we had already endured, it would have been reasonable for staff to offer assistance with our luggage—yet no such offer was made. The net curtain had a hole in it, there was loud noise from the adjacent ballroom until midnight. noise is understandable, no complimentary earplugs were provided. The bed was uncomfortably hard, making it difficult to sleep, and between that and the noise we got a few hours sleep. Wifi unsuable couldnt call my partners daughter which was upsetting for her.
We are both none smokers but when we were in the room there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke on two occasions throughout the night there was no windows that could be opened so it wasn’t coming in from outside . It was very unpleasant and lingered for a good hour or so. There was also a buzzing sound that kept coming on and off through the night which we couldn’t pin point where it was coming from but made our sleep very broken . The phone wasn’t working in our room which we report on our first night we stayed two nights but no one came to sort it and we had to go down to the reception to order food to the room which was a bit disappointing as we just wanted to phone and get room service which you pay extra for .
Great staff and food. Thank you
Love it here 😊
As Always a top stay at the Earl.
Amazing hotel and staff were great best so far in Donny
Beautiful hotel, art deco style is amazing! Stayed in an executive room which was very spacious and clean. Attended a Xmas party event, entertainment was superb but food was disappointing.
A fortune spent on art deco in reception bar and restaurant but rooms average. Staff hard pressed. receptionist very pleasant. Toilet in room seemed to leak.
We stayed at the Earl for one night as a treat for my sister's birthday. The hotel was lovely. The art deco building has been sympathetically restored and has some wonderful touches. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. My niggle was that I'd booked a family room to give us separate beds but on check in, we were placed in a double. When I went to point out the error, the receptionist said it showed our room was a family room (it wasn't) and they were fully booked so there were no other rooms available. She was apologetic. The hotel had checked earlier in the week how many guests would be staying but didn't once ask if we minded the room change. Not great customer service in my view.
Nice stay
Stayed here a few times for work, always a great stay, the nanny feeders were brilliant as always in the mornings. Just wish they had a fridge in the room
Lively
Highly recommend
The hotel was spotless ,the staff very friendly and helpful
Nice room
Only stayed one night but the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is Art Deco themed and well presented. I would definitely stay here again.
Staff were excellent, everywhere very clean and wonderful deco only thing that let it down was the cooked English breakfast was cold but plenty of choice
We stayed for 2 nights at the Earl of Doncaster. Loverly art deco style decor staff all friendly hotel clean and tidy Breakfast excellent a very good experience will definitely recommend and return
Great hotel and staff I always stop here when in Doncaster. Excellent breakfast too.
The reason to stay here is the interior design but sadly the ambience of the bar and restaurant are too modern clashing with the decor - the music played was ok but the speakers in the bar were not working proberly so all bass and no trebble which was unpleasant. Very limited non alcoholic drink options. No non alcoholic cocktails. We also had a 1am false fire alarm. The service from all staff however fitted perfectly and was exceptional. Room was good size, lovely decor again and view of park to the rear. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom small but functional with some maintainace that needs attention - only staying one night so not able to say if fixed quickly. Good free parking at the rear. Overall for a 1 night stay it souted our needs. Thank you
Staff was really friendly ,Room was clean apart from light fitting ( cobwebs) ,the room was spacious, tea and coffe facilities, my experience then was then spoilt by having no ligting in are room from 8.am ( of which they couldnt fix ) ,no window in bathroom to let any light in ,
Gatsby Style hotel
Excellent stay, friendly welcome
Nice place that maybe went a step too far with the decor. Room had lots of stains on the carpet. Restaurant looks great and service is good, but over-priced and mediocre food, at best.
Excellent restaurant service and food; receptionist welcoming and efficient. Room comfy and a super dooper shower!
Loved the four poster bed and other room features. Thought it was cold, no spare blankets and aircon too loud to leave on overnight an cuts off when you remove the key and leave the room. The plug didn’t work to charge my iPad and there were no plugs near the bed. Very little choice in restaurant so we went elsewhere to eat.
Another great stay at the Earl and they even found me a room with an opening window to help with the menopause! I find all the staff at this hotel friendly and the breakfast is better than anywhere else i stay. Keep up the great work :)
Super stay..thanks to the staff
Another amazing stay at the Earl, we love everything about this hotel and the staff are amazing.
