Great room and breakfast was very good. Close to all town attractions and great restaurants. Very close to the train station, walkable distance with luggage, about 10 minutes or so. Easy walk.

4 couples in our group all used the app to book at the same Hampton York hotel, only to discover at check in that there are multiple Hampton York hotels.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast had a variety of food though could of done wiith a bit more choice of cold meat and cheese selection. The hotel was situated in a good location not far to walk to all the local attractions and amenities. Wiuld definitely stay there again.

The hotel is great and well located for town and the train station. It's just a shame that the street it's on is a bit run down.

Excited to visit the uk for the first time, where my parents and family grew up, and served in the British forces during ww1 & ww2. We were disappointed to hear that our plans were destroyed after discovering we were missing the new required ETA document to travel to the uk. We had to cancel our trip, because the ETA document would not arrive in time. We have had already booked several hotels in London, Sunderland and York. Out of compassion, all the hotels except this one credited us for future stays with them. I had notified this hotel several days in advance about our situation, and pleading with them, they refused to give any type of credit. Very disappointing. .

Nice enough hotel. Well placed for sight seeing and railway station. Food not great. Rooms clean and spacious.

Outstanding option if you want to stay near the center of York, but just outside of the most busy areas. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent.

Breakfast did not cater for vegetarians, it was very limited in choice of cooked breakfast no mushrooms or veggie sausages or choice of different eggs ie, boiled or fried. Bed was terribly uncomfortable we stayed 3 nights and both gone home with crippled backs. Bed was very poor for the price of the stay.

Stayed here for one night with friends and very happy with the hotel overall . Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast was ok- lots of choice and they had gluten free options. It’s a 5-10 minute walk into the Centre . Parking is in the multi story a hundred yards past the hotel - if you get the hotel to stamp your card it’s reduced to £17.50.

The property is very nice. The only problem is the airflow. The moment we enter the room, it smells like sewage. We opened the door and kept it open with our garbage can. Front reception said that York is having plumbing issues so she gave us a fan and we kept the door open when we are in the room. I don’t know what it is as it could be a plumbing issue or they need return air.

We have stayed here several times and enjoy the convenience to the station and city centre which is a few minutes walk.

We got to the property and we were given a room we’re supposed to be a queen size bed they fob us off with a smaller bed. The TV was up in the corner and we couldn’t see it unless we sat on the chair only one person both me and my partner like to watch TV in bed and we couldn’t do that. We paid way over the odds for this room and it was nowhere of the standard we expected it to be would not be staying at their place again.

Hampton Hilton York was a nice hotel to stay. It is close to York station so you don't have to wheel your luggage very far. From the hotel, you can walk to all the York attractions in the city center. The hotel also has a great breakfast.

Clean and comfortable rooms, good location. Nice staff.

This was in a convenient location close to the railway station. The room was well appointed although we missed having a fridge. The reception people were happy to refrigerate our fresh milk for our tea which was helpful. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was also nice and it was an easy walk into York for the tourist attractions. If you turn left from the hotel there is a narrow road or alley that cuts out some walking if you head into town

Had a really fantastic stay at this hotel. Check-In was easy. Rooms were really really clean and the whole place just looked spotless. On top of that, very friendly staff, a fantastic breakfast and a good bar. What more could you want? I was booked into another large chain hotel but changed to this one at the last minute. I'm so glad I did. Very convenient for the station.

The air conditioning was broken in our room and we were hot. Fans were privided but thry can only help so much.

Very convenient hotel a few minutes away from the train station and a few minutes from the old town. Good sized rooms. Great free breakfast included. Only downside was the air conditioning was a bit noisy though not terrible.

Stayed for 2 nights, room was good and liked the fact the air-conditioning could be turned on and off. Good black out curtains as well. The complementary breakfast was excellent and yes it gets busy due to all guests having this extra but there's plenty of signs to tell you the best times to go. The hotel is on a good location quite close to the centre and within walking distance to the train station.

It is a personal view but this is one of our favourite hotel chains for their consistency and quality across properties and this was no different. The room was quiet, clean and very comfortable; overall the hotel was clean, staff friendly, polite, welcoming and efficient. The breakfast choices and quality was adequate and the dining area kept clean and cleared promptly. Overall, very comfort and relaxing break, thank you

Good location for visiting the historic section of York.

The only thing that let the hotel down was that parking was not convenient, however it is expected in a city centre location.

Good location, a few minutes walk from York station with a pubs and eateries not far away. Had no problems with the hotel (staff were excellent) other than the very limited menu in the restaurant. Breakfast was rather good.

Every person we interacted with was amazing! Hotel was spotless and breakfast was plentiful. My only complaint is the beds are a bit firm for me, but would 100% stay here again!

Great stay and location

Good location , good staff. Poor rooms / soiled covering on bedsheet had to get it replaced and staff took pictures of covering. breakfasts was very over crowded and found very average . Had to be seated separately as three traveled and waited 15 minutes before table became available due to rush

York is a beautiful city in England that reminds me of Greenwich Village in NYC. Fascinating shops, restaurants, with an old world charm. People were friendly and helpful. One of my most favorite places I have visited. Hotel and staff were excellent and helpful.

The hotel was located close to the train station and accessible to the center of York. it was easily walkable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good!

Great hotel

Basement room provided, windows facing an area accessed by council staff to get to their offices - we also had what I assume were hotel staff members cycling past our windows and were able to look in. People walking along the pathway on the higher road above were also able to look down into the room. Room interior was nice but we had to have the curtains closed a lot of the time.

Beds were very hard hence not a great sleep. The hotel in general though was very good and in a perfect location, everything was in easy walking distance.

Great hotel for price

A comfortable hotel where the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast ok but a little generic. The hot items were a little dry. Parking is in a public parking lot a short walk from the hotel and there is not designated drop off area at the hotel. Its only short walk to the old town making it very convenient and thankfully it had aircon for the warm summer weather.

I booked this hotel for 1 reason. It said it had parking, I even cancelled another booking for somewhere after it said limited parking in favour of this one. This hotel does not have parking. It has a slightly discounted rate for the NCP down the hill. This car park is badly signposted and hard to find and it is, as I said, DOWN the hill. This means an UPHILL slog to the hotel. That may work if you are young, able-bodied and not encumbered by luggage but I am none of those things, which I why i booked a hotel that said it had parking. I get it's in central York and parking is at a premium, but be honest about it Having therefore arrived at the hotel exhausted and in pain I was not in the best frame of mind and in a mood to be a right Karen about the rest of the hotel. The room was fine, though it did take me 24hr to find the hanging space and hairdryer. It could do with someone where to put cases thats not the floor and a USB plug for device charging. TV channels limited to 1-5 and no radio stations, however the rotating chair was good and the shower excellent. No decaff in the room, though I expect that could have been found at reception, if I had had the energy left to make it back there. Bed was clean and comfy enough, though oddly close to the wall on one side? Air conditioning so complicated that it needed its own instructions at check-in and it wouldn;t go below 19C, which to me makes it a bit pointless. All in all what could have been a lovely weekend spoilt.

Adequate, budget level hotel, clean, quite and safe. The staff seemed to take their jobs too serious and were not to be seen smiling or being pleasant to the clients.

Good hotel in a good location! Room had everything we needed and was good quality. Breakfast had a good selection and was good. 5 minute walk to high Street area. Of site parking very close by NCP I belive! £17.50 for 24hrs thanks to discount when staying at this hotel. Only negatives were no soft close on the toilet seat and the bed was a bit firm for me.

We like the nice stroll from the hotel into the centre.

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. The train station is literally 5mins walk away. This time we found extra short cuts i.e.: its quicker to walk the wall to get to the castle than through the streets (we didn't miss anything in the streets this was when we were meeting friends). Everything In York centre is in walking distance from this hotel. its so quiet at night to enable a good nights sleep. The staff are so friendly & helpful. You can't go wrong with the buffet breakfast lots to choose from hot & cold food. will be staying again.

Well located in a quiet street with an easy walk to the city centre or rail station. Fully equipped rooms and decent power shower. Plenty of options for breakfast and friendly staff.

Our room was comfy with a good view on this occasion. Cleaning staff did a great job. Reception staff helpful. Fire alarm went off in the middle of one night, then went off . A bit of a worry.

Really good hotel with very friendly staff. Excellent location quiet street yet close to railway station 10 minutes walk one way and 10 minutes to city centre the other. Room was lovely, clean, big shower with movable shower head. Breakfast good presentation, hot food was hot, plenty choice. Defo recommend.

Great Hotel in a great location, friendly welcome and greeting from the staff on duty at the time of check-in. Lovely clean room on arrival, big bed but soft pillows, i believe you can request firm pillows during the booking process. Would highly recommend and definitely return again.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from The station. It's new, clean, and a short walk into the city centre. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay everything very clean and staff were extremely helpful and friendly perfectly located for the town just a short walk but just far enough away not to be in the middle of the busy night life, only one thing that could improve is the menu for daytime and evening is extremely limited especially if your traveling with any asd family members, breakfast was wonderful on the other hand plenty of options for everyone will most definitely stay here again

Perfectly clean hotel. Efficient check-in, friendly helpful staff. Good selection of cereals and fresh fruit at breakfast. Plates for hot food on the small side, not quite big enough for two slices of toast. Would also prefer a choice of eggs rather just the scrambled option.

Was a great stay, easy to get to from train station.

This is not a luxury high end hotel however it is new, modern, great location and ideal of its somewhere to sleep whilst on a city break. Breakfast is ok apart from the waffle station which was great (my 4 year old loved it). Overall a hassle free stay and would stay again if my trip was out and about mostly.
