Spectacular views over the valley and Borobudur temple, especially from the swimming pool, very friendly staff, beautifully decorated rooms

The room was truly spacious, featuring a lovely bed in the center. It was also equipped with a kettle, a small table with two chairs, and a desk—amenities we really appreciated. There were plenty of power outlets as well. The property is located about an hour and fifteen minutes from the center of Yogyakarta, and there is nothing in the whereabouts—partly because the resort is situated on a hillside—making it perfect for those seeking relaxation. However, it's in a good location to take a tour to the tea plantations and for the boroubudur. The staff is exceptional: always on hand to assist, smiling, kind, and eager to help guests make the most of their activities.

If I really have to find a fault, I’d say the restaurant menu offers few options.

The Sagara vista pool was spectacular and crystal clear, large courtyard and the views. Sonar hill is so peaceful. The resort is really clean and well maintained. Seamless access throughout the complex. If I had room in my luggage I would have purchased one of their kimonos they are so beautiful.

Hot water was intermittent, staff were very friendly and helpful however, communicating in English was a little challenging. Consider ear plugs as the call to prayer is loud and comes from many directions.

The location was absolutely incredible and so beautiful. We stayed in the wooden villa and loved spending our evenings sitting on the verandah, watching the sunset over the volcano. It was incredibly peaceful, and we had so many “pinch me” moments throughout our stay. We often felt like we were almost the only guests there, and having the swimming pool to ourselves was such a special bonus — it made the whole experience feel incredibly private and relaxing. I also highly recommend doing the private Andong tour in the afternoon. It was genuinely one of the highlights of our entire month-long trip through Java and such a memorable experience. The setting, scenery and overall experience were incredible. We also really appreciated the help with organising our tours, bookings and transportation. Our driver who took us to our next accommodation after check-out was especially lovely — he was incredibly kind, attentive and really looked after us. It was such a lovely way to finish our stay!

The staff were friendly and welcoming overall, however, there were a few areas where we felt the communication and organisation could have been improved. At check-in, we weren’t given any information about the hotel, facilities etc. Our passports were scanned and we were asked to sit and wait until someone showed us to our room, but we weren’t given any information about breakfast, the hotel facilities, or where things were located. A little more information at check-in would have made the arrival experience much smoother. Prior to arriving, I had also booked several tours and experiences through the hotel. There had been quite a few messages and confirmations back and forth beforehand, so we expected these arrangements to be on file. Unfortunately, when we arrived, none of these bookings were mentioned and there seemed to be some uncertainty about them, including a booking we had made to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. When I followed this up, I was asked to contact a number via WhatsApp. After several messages, everything was eventually confirmed, but it would have been much easier if these arrangements had been communicated to the relevant staff before our arrival. Another example was when we wanted to watch the sunrise over the volcano. Before arriving, we asked the hotel about arranging a car, but were instead recommended to watch the sunrise from their private “Sinar” Hill, which sounded like a lovely alternative. The day before, we asked how we could access Sinar Hill and were told that someone would be waiting for us at 5am to take us there the following morning. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 5am, there was no one there. We waited and walked around for around 30 minutes before eventually finding another staff member who was able to show us how to get there. Better communication between staff and clearer information at check-in would have made our stay much more enjoyable and would have helped avoid some unnecessary confusion and stress.

Está alejado de los puntos de interés, y una rampa muy empinada para llegar hotel. Baños muy poco acogedor y habitaciones igual. No es para un hotel de 5 estrellas. Más bien un tres estrellas. Desayuno le falta variedad en frutas, y comida internacional. Ya que tuvimos que salir a cenar y comer a otros hoteles de alrededor que tienen más variedad

Es un hotel fantástico en medio de la montaña, con una tranquilidad perfecta y unas vistas espectaculares, pena que no nos acompañara el día con niebla perdiendo parte de la vista. Cenamos en el restaurante bastante bien, lógicamente más caro que el resto del pais pero nada del otro mundo. El snack bar sagasta vista con una piscina desbordante, y una cerveza, es espectacular. EL SERVICIO perfecto, todo atención.

Sinceramente poco que no me gustará, lógicamente habia algún insecto ya que estas en plena naturaleza. Y lo peor quizas es si quieres salir del hotel a cenar o pasear ya que esta muy aislado en una montaña.

Las villas estaban muy bien, el desayuno muy completo y además, el pedirlo para llevar, te dejaban elegir de una carta lo que querías, así que fue maravilloso. Las dos piscinas muy bien y los detalles que te dejan en la habitación para que te lleves y consumas, perfectos.

Demasiadas escaleras o cuestas muy pronunciadas. Si tienes problemas de movilidad o vas con carritos es muy difícil acceder al comedor, recepción o incluso a las villas.

Very beautiful and confortable hotel with own genuine and charming identity. Room (Sidartha suite) is very nice. Each room has a really pleasant view on valley. Exceptional swimming pools, very calm and where you can also enjoy the views. Hotel offers free transportation to city center and Borobudur on demand (no fixed timetable) and this is a real advantage considering the hilly access. Breakfast and dinner are good. You can also order snacks around the pool. Massage of good quality.

There could be a gym or some exercise equipment. The shower floor could drain better. I didn’t love the reggae-Lite pop at the ‘beach bar’. Spaghetti bolognese left something to be desired.

Personale molto gentile. Navetta disponibile gratuitamente per raggiungere il tempio. Provata anche la cena e il piatto che ho preso era ben presentato e molto gustoso. Camera con ampia terrazza (per alcuni tratti un pochino da rinnovare ma comunque adeguata e pulita). Assolutamente consigliato

Amazing setting, high up the hill above Borobudur. Views across the valley to Mount Merapi were beautiful, and truly stunning at sunset. The two pools were welcoming with a stunning infinity pool. Both had plenty of shade and loungers available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food quality was great, with broad range of Indonesian and international foods. Rooms were huge with own verandas. Hotel provided complimentary transport to the Temple at 3am for our sunrise walk, and collected us afterwards as well. We had massages at their spa which was in a tranquil setting, again with those gorgeous views.

Magnifique hôtel accroché en haut d’une colline avec vue sur le temple de Borobudur. Jolie décoration, superbe jardin, deux belles piscines dont une à débordement, navette gratuite pour le temple, bonne et copieuse restauration. Une escale très agréable

Le cube déodorant de la salle de bain sent très fort dans la chambre ; la climatisation bruyante et le massage beaucoup trop fort en dépit de mes nombreuses demandes pour une pression plus douce.

1. 服务非常好。酒店提供专车往返婆罗浮屠，还可以帮忙提前预定婆罗浮屠导游，行李也有专人运送，室内提供大瓶饮用水，联系过程反馈很迅速。 2. 地理位置近。可以04.00出门，04.15抵达，不用太早起。 3. 驱蚊虫到位。尽管身处植被之中，但是没有蚊子，房间只有小小的飞虫进入，说明驱蚊工作很到位。 4. 酒店装饰讲究。有种古色古香的风韵，大厅有股非常好闻的焚香味道。

1.热水。我的洗澡水在洗了一会后就变凉变冷，不知道是不是热水器的储存热水用完后，即热没有跟上。但这个问题确实和这个酒店的条件不太匹配。最终我只能提前结束洗澡。 2.床单。我父母入住的豪华房的床单是脏的，可能遗忘了更换。建议以后客人入住前对每间房子的整理状态进行查验。

The hospitality, the view is amazing, all the staff from front desk, driver, house keeping, and the ones in the restaurant are very attentive, friendly and customer service are excellent. We will book again if we come back in the future.

PHENOMENAL!!! The property is well connected with nature!!! A pleasant balance. The rooms are super comfortable including all of nature. For me it was an amazing merry of comfort, and nature luxury. The views were beyond spectacular!! And the staff worked above and beyond helping the stay be pleasant and helping to smoothly organize daily activities. From the drivers, to the hostess, and to all the attendants/ cooks was 👌🏻. Thank you for such an amazing time and experience!!

Absolute Ruhelage am Hügel mit toller Aussicht. Wenn man in den Ort möchte gibt es einen gratis Transport. Der Weg zum Hotel ist sehr steil. Sehr gutes Essen und sehr freundliches Personal. Wir waren schon das zweite Mal in diesem Hotel.

Hôtel très loin de Yogyakarta à 1h45 de l’aéroport. Chambre avec une décoration originale mais qui semble avoir été rénové à bas coût. Porte qui ne ferme pas. Pas de fenêtre et insectes qui rentre dans la chambre. Pas de téléphone. VMC de la SDB très bruyante et Climatisation impossible à régler. Impossible de dormir sans boules Quies en raison du vacarme diffusé par les hauts parleurs. Personnel gentil mais indifférent. Petit déjeuné indigent. Ce n’est vraiment pas un 5 étoiles. Dommage car il y a du potentiel.

Spa was not great & too many steps for the villas

A beautiful place in an incredible setting on a mountainside overlooking Borobudur. Well conceived and designed. Very peaceful. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Absoluut alles was fantastisch. Van het eten tot de kamer en het zwembad, ik kan niets bedenken wat minder was. Het ontbijt was ook heerlijk! Maar onbetaalbaar was het uitzicht en de goede service. Niets was te gek, je wordt geholpen met alles en je hoefde eigenlijk niets te doen omdat alles met liefde en een glimlach voor je werd gedaan.

The view is amazing. The pool area is lovely. This is one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at in Indonesia. I read people’s complaints about the noise coming from the valley. I disagreed: I found that it made it very atmospheric. It did not interfere with my sleep. The patio is very nice for viewing. Their shuttle service is handy due to the location of the hotel. I loved the 2 massages that I got in the beautiful building overlooking the valley.

The road up is very steep. However, their shuttle takes you around or shuttles you to the massage area. Food prices seemed high and dinners are average, nothing special.

The location is great , but it’s sad that it’s hazy due to the farmers burning , if not it would have been exceptional . We were given the newer villas by the pool , which was great . Overall a very quiet resort as most people are out on day tours . Room was very clean & comfortable. Nice little area to sit on the balcony and a thoughtful drying rack was provided.

The kitchen needs improving in standards . Quality and selection needs a big improvement . Food needs to be served hot and not lukewarm . Also dessert selection needs to be sealed and not exposed . Maybe also display the main Buffett on a smaller area as it does look rather sparse .

Its not a dislike, but there is nothing in walking distance. Hotel offers free shuttle to village and borobodur tempel.

Lovely location, really kind staff and the ideal base to explore Borobudur and visit the temple, as there’s a free shuttle. We were made feel welcome from the arrival, greeted with a refreshing welcome drink.

I loved it here. Amazing location with the most gorgeous viewpoints everywhere - the pools, the restaurant, a huge terrace in my room. I also had an incredible massage during a thunderstorm with the sound of rain in the background, it was heavenly. My favourite part was the people working at the hotel. I travelled solo and they made me feel so welcome and safe and helped organise tours etc. The surrounding villages are also so friendly and there is lots to explore. It’s the perfect spot for visiting Borobudur or for recharging surrounded by nature.

View is amazing as are the staff. Really lovely! The rooms were great and cleverly done with all the hooks and latches to keep doors closed and cool air in when wanted. Meals were yummy and teatime was a great addition

La ubicación, las vistas y las instalaciones. Un auténtico paraíso. Es todo perfecto. Las cenas y comidas muy ricas y variadas, así como los amplios desayunos. El personal muy amable, son todo facilidades. Lo recomendaría sin duda si vas a ir a ver el templo de Borobudur entre ellos.

Stunning views over the valley, with three volcanoes surrounding the iconic Borobudur Temple — unforgettable.

Along with the stunning views, you’ll also hear the simultaneous calls to prayer from the many nearby mosques — the natural acoustics carry the sound across the valley, making it impossible to ignore.

Our Villa had absolute privacy, a view that was more than exceptional, generous sized private pool, and lovely cool mountain air. The bedrooms were air-conditioned, so we closed them up at night. They could be opened up during the day.

Not really possible to walk anywhere due to the steep terrain. I guess that is the downside of the amazing g location, and worth the sacrifice.

For 70+ y.o. guests, the climbing several steps daily is a little bit of “work” but in the end, take it slow and easy ; think of it as cardio for the day

Peaceful and spacious but not far away. Caring staff. Shuttle always available to take you up and down the hill.

The steep access (although we knew about it) so it was difficult to just go out for a walk.

Der Bungalow mit eigenem Pool glich eher einem asiatischen Palast oder Tempel, mit einer phantastischen Aussicht auf Vulkane und dem Borobudur Tempel Überaus freundliches Personal, extrem gutes Essen und einen kostenlosen Fahrdienst in den Ort oder in die nähere Umgebung.

Man konnte von unserem Bugalow nicht selbstständig zu Fuß ins Restaurant gehen, es ist sehr weit und unglaublich steil. Aber ein Anruf genügt und man wird mit dem Auto abgeholt, oder bekommt das Essen und /oder Getränke aufs Zimmer geliefert.

Prima ontbijt met voldoende keuze, zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel en de mogelijkheid om met de hotel shuttle op stap te gaan en ook weer worden opgehaald.

Het hotel ligt tegen een helling waardoor alle geluiden vanuit de vallei behoorlijk luid binnenkomen. 5 keer per dag de oproep tot gebed vanuit alle kleine dorpjes zijn zeer aanwezig. De eerste oproep begint om 4 uur ‘s ochtends en duren langer dan verwacht.

Algunas habitaciones son estilo balines pero otras como la que me queda ya no tiene ese estilo sería muy bonito todo Igual. El Acceso no es fácil .

Beautiful facility on the side of a hill with an exceptional view. Staff were very friendly

First the setting which is stunning: on the green slopes of a hill with a sweeping view of the valley and the volcano in the distance. Even a tiny glimpse of Borobudur temple. The rooms are very spacious, decorated in Javanese style and very pretty. The aircon is very good-and it is needed! The robes provided are also very comfortable (we bought them!). The personnel is welcoming, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good.

It feels bad to point out the flaws of such a nice place but there are: Main one: the noise, the muezzin calls are frequent and last much longer than any muslim country we have been in, there are several mosques and the cacophony lasts twenty minutres and travels all the way into your room. The first call was at 4 in the morning!!! long before sunset. The hotel design having no sound proofing, it is very intrusive. The same design of the hotel means there are no windows, just shutters, which you must keep closed or otherwise mosquitoes and heat come in, so no view from inside your room (you must go on the verandah-great in early morning and late evening but not in the day) and the design also means lot of natrural light inside the room. For light sleepers like us, not great. Finally the toilet is on the other side of the shower which does not have a cubicle so after the shower the floor is wet for the next 12 hours and you have to go through it to go to the toilet and out. For an award-winning design hotel, this is a weird and uncomfortable flaw. Finally on our second night the hotel restaurant closed and the hotel organised a show but only informed us at the last minute around 19h30 making alternative arrangements almost impossible. We still recommend this hotel just for the incredible setting but these are flaws to know about if you are coming here for quiet and relaxation as you will not get them here.
