Lovely small guesthouse - staff so helpful and friendly. So convenient for river, station, restaurants - only stayed one night but great value for money

Enorm centraal gelegen op 7 minuten lopen van Sao Bento treinstation. Ontzettend vriendelijk personeel, heerlijk bed en lekker ontbijt. Onze kamer lag ook nog eens aan een privé terrasje (nr. 2) dat rechtstreeks verbinding had met het uitkijkpunt boven. We waren hier 2 nachtjes. We komen zeker terug, want 2 dagen is echt te kort voor deze mooie stad. Aanrader!

This is one of the best centrally located accommodations with the most attentive staff. We loved it! Everything was great, from the welcome glass of Porto wine to all the recommendations and the breakfast. If we could only stay longer, we would not need to come back. Great stuff, very helpful and friendly. Perfectly located in the inner city of Porto. The terrace is beautiful with a great view. The hotel is neat and has only a view rooms which makes it very calm and unstressful.

The room was spacious, there was a rooftop balcony with amazing views, and it was a small place with a personal feel.

We liked everything, although the lack of elevator might be hard for some.

La documentation photographique sur booking.com ne correspondait pas à la realité, ni par la façade de l immeuble, ni par l intérieure. L`hôtel est propre, mais sans plus. Je ne cherchais pas un hôtel vraiment bon marché, mais un hôtel plein de charme et de style.

La amabilidad del personal, fueron súper amables, los desayunos muy bien, pequeñitos pero muy completos, la ubicación, está a cinco minutos andando tanto de la ribera como de la estación de Sao Bento, y la amplitud de la habitación.

La cuna para el bebé, el colchón no era muy cómodo, estaba bastante usado, y las ventanas no insonorizan muy bien, pero es verdad que por las noches tampoco había mucho escándalo a pesar de estar en el centro y se podía dormir bien.

Quietschende Tür hat nachts gestört, aber das kann sicherlich schnell repariert werden.

Alles war super! Lage, Zimmer mit Ausblick nach vorne, Frühstück, die vielen Terrassen, das freundliche Team. Der Eingang ist zwar unauffällig und überraschend steht man direkt im Frühstücksraum, aber die super zentrale Lage ist unschlagbar. Aber viele Treppen und somit nicht barrierefrei, für uns zum Glück kein Problem.

The only hiccup was that we had asked for twin beds and a double bed was provided, this was rectified by our lovely receptionist, it just seemed to cause some hassle but all good in the end

The property was in a convenient location and had a beautiful terrace for guests to enjoy. The amenities in the rooms were very good. The staff were so attentive and there were thoughtful things like water and snacks located near and in the rooms. The continental breakfast was great quality.

Property is outdated. It surely needs refurbishment. There is no elevator and the stairs are narrow and dangerous. There is no coffee in the rooms. The bathroom sanitary was old and needs fixing. Side tables were wobbly.

Localização perfeita! Rapidamente se chega nos principais pontos do Porto. Quarto grande e confortável. Excelente café da manhã e funcionários muitos simpáticos e prestativos!

Super Lage und extrem freundliches Personal. Breite und komfortable Betten. Tolle Terrassen im Hinterhof (allerdings weiteres Treppensteigen nötig)

Alles dem Alter des Gebäudes geschuldet und nicht abwertend. steile Treppen und kein Aufzug, Badezimmer sehr eng und daher meistens nur einzeln zu benutzen, d.h für ältere oder eingeschränkte Personen nicht geeignet.

Die Lage ist sehr zentral und Alles ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Leider hatten wir gar nicht genug Zeit, um den liebevoll angelegten terrassierten "Garten" hinter dem Haus zu nutzen. Von unserem Zimmer (Deluxe Doppelzimmer im 4. OG) hatten wir einen schönen Ausblick in Richtung Douro. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und wir waren für die Klimaanlage dankbar. Das Frühstück war prima - und als wir an einem Tag wegen eines Ausflugs morgens früh starten mussten, wurde für uns das Frühstück schon eine halbe Stunde eher serviert - lieben Dank! Wir sind mit dem Uber an-/abgereist (ca 20 EUR vom Flughafen), so dass uns die fehlenden Parkplätze und das Einbahnstraßenwirrwarr nicht gestört haben.

Wir hätten gerne abends ein Fussball-WM-Spiel im Fernseher angesehen: nur 5 portugiesische Programme und das Programm mit Fussball hatte so schlechten EMpfang, dass wir aufgegeben haben. Das ist aber Jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Sehr schönes großes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht in einem geschmackvoll renovierten Stadthaus. Sehr freundliches hilfsbereites Personal. Tolle zentrale Lage, trotzdem ruhig. Nettes Frühstück.

Mit Gepäck wegen der schmalen steilen Straßen nicht ganz leicht zu erreichen.

Die Lage war perfekt. Die Zimmer waren schön, jedoch keine Schränke und wenig Ablageflächen. Das Frühstück war lecker und das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Wie ich schon erwähnt habe, es hatte kaum Ablageflächen. Musste die Kleider im Koffer lassen. Nachts war es sehr laut wegen den aussenliegenden Klimaanlagen wie auch die Möwen die die ganze Zeit gekrächzt haben. (Da konnte jedoch die Unterkunft nichts für. ;-) ) Man kann die Fenster natürlich zu lassen und die Klima einstellen, dann erübrigt es sich mit dem Lärm.

Que en la entrada había un escalón que no estaba bien señalado y me caí de bruces. Esto fue el primer día y los dos siguientes que hemos permanecido en Oporto he estado muy dolorida. El personal se ha excusado pero no así la dirección del establecimiento. No considero que por su parte hayan estado a la altura de las circunstancias.

Moc ochotný personál, možnost kdykoliv si uvařit čaj a dát si sušenky nebo svačinku na recepci. Boží terasa. Chutné snídaně. Příjemné prostředí, super poloha. Měli jsme okna do dvora, takže tam nebyl slyšet hluk z ulice, ale zase tam ústí klimatizace.

Pozor, je tam dost schodů. Vybavení koupelny (odřená vana, nefunkční wc štětka). Nedopalky kolem terasy.

Bardzo przyjazna obsługa Hotelu. Dobre śniadanie z uwzględnieniem potrzeb osób które potrzebują posiłek gluten-free. Niesamowity widok na miasto na tarasach w Hotelu. Dla tego widoku warto jeszcze raz przyjechać w to samo miejsce. Świetna lokalizacja.

la posizione è estremamente centrale, a piedi si può raggiungere sia la Ribeira che le strade più commerciali. Inoltre è situato sopra una pasticceria ottima e locali con musica la sera, ma la musica non è fastidiosa e non costituisce un problema per il riposo.

Die Unterkunft hat eine tolle Lage und wir wurden freundlich empfangen!

Trotz versprochenem Frühstück um 7Uhr 30 hat die sehr unfreundliche Mitarbeiterin uns kein Frühstück zubereitet,so mussten wir um 8Uhr ohne Frühstück oder Lunchpaket das wir bereits bezahlt hatten,zum Flughafen fahren !

Top Lage, super zentral gelegen, alles fußläufig erreichbar! Schön großzügiges Zimmer und hinterm Haus gibt es Treppen die aufwärts zu kleinen Sitzplätzen mit toller Aussicht führen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, nur hätte ich nicht nur süße Cornflakes, sondern auch ein ungesüßtes Müsli oder Haferflocken gehabt. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Fenster sind nicht schallisoliert, sodass man etwas Straßenlärm hören kann. Für uns war es ok.

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Bei der Ankunft wurde uns ein Glas Portwein offeriert und Häppchen dazu. Der Mitarbeiter von der Rezeption hat uns beim Empfang sofort gezeigt, was sehenswert ist und in welchen Gegenden man gute Restaurants findet. Zudem hat er geholfen, unsere schweren Gepäckstücke in den obersten Stock zu tragen (es hat keinen Lift). Bei der Abreise hat uns die Mitarbeiterin vom Frühstück als Dolmetscherin unterstützt mit der Taxifahrt zum Flughafen.

Ótima localização, o hotel possui excelentes instalações e muito confortáveis. Fomos muito bem recebidos pelo Michelângelo, que foi muito simpático e nos orientou os lugares melhores locais para visitar em Porto, mesmo com pouco tempo disponível. No pequeno almoço, conhecemos a Cris, que também foi muito simpática e calorosa conosco, e nos preparou deliciosas opções de desjejum. Este hotel tem um aspecto muito familiar que nos faz sentir em casa. Recomendaremos a todos os amigos.

Cale Guest House is a charming little hotel in a perfect location in Porto. We walked and wandered all day. Porto is just so gorgeous! All the main attractions were within our walk from the hotel. The owners (brother and sister team) have won accolades from local government from their care when renovating this historic building. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely Lara who poured us a little glass of Port and sat with us to go over a map of the area, pointing out the best sites to see. Undoubtedly the warmest welcome we’ve ever received at any hotel. She also insisted on helping to haul our heavy suitcase up the 4 flights of spiral stairs to our room. Our room, while not luxurious, was perfectly adequate with a comfortable bed, clean linens, and a pretty view over the various terraces which are accessible from the hallways. There is a little tea station in the hallway and, if it hadn’t been raining, we would have sat outside. The spiral staircase has been beautifully restored but I don’t think it would work for those with mobility issues. The breakfast, served in the lobby area, was delicious and included miniature Pasteis de Nata among many other things. The homemade yogurt was delicious too. We highly recommend Cale Guest House for a personal experience.

This is not a complaint. Know before you go: As is the case with many historic hotels in Europe, there is no elevator.

Die tolle Lage im Zentrum von Porto. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Das Frühstück war lecker und das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Obwohl das Hotel im lebhaften Stadtteil Ribeira lag, war es nachts sehr ruhig. Also alles perfekt.

Wunderschönes gemütliches Guest House in perfekter Lage mit toll angelegter Dachterrasse Leckeres Frühstück, super nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir haben zur Begrüßung ein Glas Portwein bekommen und uns wurden an einem Stadtplan gleich viele wertvolle Tips fürs Sightseeing gegeben. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Nur als Info: Es gibt keinen Aufzug, für mobil eingeschränkte Gäste eher nicht zu empfehlen

Das ist sehr zentral war

Ich warne den Preis schon etwas extrem und ich hatte das Zimmer im ersten Stock. D.h. alle die die Treppen runter gelaufen sind hab ich gehört durch den alten Holzboden, die die ganze Zeit geknirscht hat.

Posizione centrale. Ottima colazione con prodotti freschi. Gentilissimi i gestori, molto accoglienti (con tanto di calice di benvenuto). Acqua e bevande sempre disponibili. Costruzione storica tipica ristrutturata.

La ristrutturazione è meno recente di quello che appare dalle foto. Poiché il palazzo è storico e ci sono pareti in pietra, c'è un po' odore di muffa nella stanza.

Alt! Enkelt og Stort rom! Supert personale som gjerne ga tips om det meste i byen. Frokosten var noe vi gledet oss til hver morgen. Den var laget med kjærlighet. Sental beliggenhet- kort vei til det meste.

Me gustaría dejar constancia de que el alojamiento no tiene ascensor y cuando solicitamos una habitación en planta baja nos la rechazaron. Estuvimos observando y comprobamos que en esa habitación no hubo gente a lo largo del día. Pedimos la devolución gratuita del importe, ya que yo viajaba con una persona con insuficiencia respiratoria y no podía subir los tres pisos hasta nuestra habitación, lo que nos obligó a buscar otro hotel. Finalmente nos cobraron la reserva completa por una habitación que no pudimos utilizar debido a que no era accesible y no pusieron ningun medio para ayudarnos.

Vi bokade extra stort rum, som visade sig ha fin utsikt över gatan och stan genom stora fönster. Personligt hotell med fåtal rum. Tillgång till flera små uteplatser högst upp. God frukost!

Google maps lurade oss från järnvägsstationen, att gå nerför ett flertal trappor. Dagen efter såg vi det fanns mycket bekväm gågata åt andra hållet! Har man besvär gå i trappor så kan det vara en nackdel.

De l'accueil au départ de l'hôtel tout a été parfait. L'emplacement est vraiment idéal, surtout avec des enfants en bas âge. Le petit-dèj très bon, et équilibré. La chambre spacieuse, propre et nettoyée tous les jours. La gentillesse et la bienveillance de la propriétaire et de son personnel !

L'hôtel est en hyper centre, donc c'est bruyant mais ça n'a pas été un problème pour nous !
