Reviewed Aug 28, 2026Friendly staff (especially Holly on reception), very decent breakfast and super restaurant. Traveling as a family with a toddler and dog, it is rare to have such a perfect size double room to accommodate us and they even got us a fan for the room. Cant wait to return!!
We had room 12 and it was above the outside restaurant and unfortunately the music and noise didnt stop until around midnight on both nights (weekend). Even with the windows closed and shutters down we could hear it.

Even though reception was just due to close, they didn't rush us and spent alot of time showing us options for our time in engelberg. Giving us all the maps and info we would need. We were so greatful. (Also the recommendation was amazing and we had the best day)

Das Hotel ist hübsch eingerichtet und das Frühstück wunderbar. Mein Hund durfte gratis übernachten und sogar das Auto konnte ich ohne weiteren Kosten vor dem Haus lassen.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026We kregen een gratis upgrade naar een ruimere kamer met een (gedeeld) balkon. De kamer was praktisch, de badkamer eerder aan de kleine kant. De bar en ontbijtruimte zijn gezellig. Het ontbijt zelf typisch Zwitsers (enkel gekookte eieren, geen andere opties) met veel verschillende granen/muesli/havermout maar weinig fruit en groenten (je kan er wel zelf vers sinaasappelsap persen).
De locatie is zeer centraal tegenover het station van Engelberg, maar daardoor uiteraard wel iets drukker. Er was redelijk wat straatlawaai en de rook van de barbecue van het restaurant komt recht de kamer binnen wanneer het raam open staat. Er is geen airco maar gezien het 's avonds goed afkoelt in Engelberg was dat niet echt een probleem ondanks het erg warme weer. Het bed was voor mij te zacht, al zullen sommige mensen dit wel appreciëren.

De faciliteiten zijn goed en de volgende morgen was het ontbijt ook goed. Er wordt met diverse diëten rekening gehouden en producten daarvoor staan standaard bij het buffet. Heel fijn.

Die Lautstärke am Abend von Draussen war nicht wirklich schlaffördernd. Auch von den Nachbar im Gang innerhalb des Hotels hörte man sehr viel. Das Personal war sehr unkompetent und beherrschte die deutsche Sprache nur sehr schlecht. Der Jacuzzi war nicht in Betrieb. Das Frühstück war nicht wirklich reichhaltig.

Giving their opinion on my mountain route plans and even looking out for my return after a big day running Also, it's clearly the place to go to in town for food & drinks in a relaxed and beautiful are (for locals and tourists) I ended up speaking and making friends with strangers and feeling completely welcomed by the whole crowd. The room was a great price. I had one of the bunk bed rooms for myself and it was more than fine. This is not a crazy fancy hotel with pristine, shiny mass produced fixtures and faux fittings. It is honest, real, friendly and welcoming (with an amazing apres as well) Finally... It's across the road from the train station which is handy. Next door/adjoining the train station is a sick bouldering rooms which was very cool to hang out in

im bad war es eher kühl. beim morgenessen wäre es schön gewesen, wenn ein grosser tisch für unsere grosse familie bereit gewesen wäre. es war etwas eng. kindermenus im restaurant waren etwas teuer.
