I didn’t like anything
The room was small, dirty, mini bar was empty and dirty. The whole place felt a bit grubby. Bathroom was awful, shower in the bath with dirty old shower curtain. Paint peeling off. The whole feel of the hotel was sad. Doesn’t look like the photos. There was a bar of sorts but no staff. Just sad
Good breakfast. . Staff very good. Great location for the town centre and night life.
shower not enough water pressure
Nothing worthy of the property, very smelly place no one in their right sense will sleep there, is terrifying 😳 and is a shame that booking.com will advise a place like that, where it was picture that tells the lies Nothing close to what the picture says is deception, they should be sued, I drove 3 hours 40 minutes to this horrible disappointment and i will fight till I get my money back.
I am calling for a refund, what was advertised is different from what the property is, and is a shame that booking.com is advertising this hotel without been there, I won't put a prisoner there, the hotel needs to be short down and go through a renovation, everywhere smells very horrible, stench smelling of damp, dirty rug, bathrooms check 4 rooms and couldn't find one to stay in, I just want my money back and quick, why deceive people with a wrong picture why on earth, is not even a 1 star hotel and needs to close down for renovation
Good location
Grubby and needs updating. The room had marks all over the walls and a strangely constructed curtain. Breakfast was ok but expensive. Coffee machine not working. Bad smell in the lifts. Advertises a parking lot but then you have to pay extra, also has very few spaces.
Nothing - there were no rooms available despite our booking!!!
No rooms available - despite your confirmation!!!
It was the second stay with in a month great staff the bed was comfortable The shower bath was ok
After a very long drive the reception staff were warm and welcoming. All facilities were explained. The lift access was first class
The staff was amazing
Location. Near the centre. Bed was comfortable. Reasonable shower. Room at back of hotel so away from busy late night music pub across the road. Staff very nice. Didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that. 24 hr reception. There is a note to say "'room not cleaned on short stays but if you need anything just ask."
Hotel parking was full you cant reserve. There is parking all around but not near hotel. However weekend parking on road outside hotel became available after 6pm and got up at 7am to leave as we parked in loading only, so no ticket! The bar didnt have a lot of choice. No gin or vodka on a Saturday night. It looked like beer was low as some pumps were off. Just seemed odd as hotel was busy and people came into the bar area.
Location, was an easy walk from the station.
Was in room 318,on the front of building which was noisy from the weekend revellers, which we accepted as we we're here for the Rhythm and Tunes Weekend,if we come back next year we'll definitely ask for a quieter room.
The property was clean and the facilities were ok
I was in room 407 and the bar across the road was playing extremely load music until late on Saturday night. The hotel staff did say they would have changed my room but the hotel was full. If you are looking for a quiet night then this is probably not the place to stay at the weekend
The staff were very nice & the location was great
Bathroom was in need of a makeover
The staff was very polite, accommodating and the hotel was super clean
Food can be improved, seemed like they were using canned tomatoes for soup. For the price they charged one would expect fresh tomato soup
Location
Heat in the rooms.
Location, choice at breakfast excellent.
Would like a welcome information pack in room, regarding breakfast times, location information.
Quiet, comfortable room. Friendly staff.
Room a little tired. Had to ask for jams/marmalades at breakfast. Not a wide selection of cereals. A choice of eggs (scrambled rather than fried) and porridge would have been good.
All went well
Having to take two separate lifts to access our room. The upper lift was quite some way from the lower one and took some finding!
Overall very clean and tidy . Central location good for rail travel . Very interesting town to explore.
Bedroom too small , only one small drawer , hot water but little pressure for showering . A lot of noise until early hours then road sweeper every early morning .
Decent enough location. Was clean and facilities were good
Noisy, roasting hot, asked the girl on reception for a fan and was told there weren’t any, then one appeared when I called again at 11pm. Terrible night sleep from the heat and the noise from the pub across the road.
The breakfast and the lady at the reception in the morning
To have my bedroom next to the lift
Only one bedside table for a double bed Reading lights not working Other lights either all on or all off
Everything
Nothing
Sentralt. God frokost med English breakfast. Rent. Hyggelig personale.
Great, centre of town location but easy to access by car (limited underground, paid parking) and ideal for Croft Circuit. Friendly staff. Spacious room and comfortable bed. Plenty of cafes/pubs/eateries a few steps away....
Limited parking and quite narrow bays! Quite a 'trek' to the 4xx series bedrooms!
Nothing special.nk scrambled eggs as many people don't eat fried food
The whole experience
Nothing really!
Everything!
Nothing I am sad to say
Everything. It is the most appalling hotel I have ever stayed in. So bad, I could not stay for the second night and booked somewhere else.
Central location, quick check in, friendly staff. Great room for the price
Some of the floors are a bit of a maze, but they’re well signed
The beds are comfortable. Bath. Kettle. Fridge. Fan in the room.
Marks on walls. Towel rails and fittings. Could do with replacing. Cracks in the sink. And tiles. Just could do with a good clean.
Clean room and friendly helpful staff
Lift is very noisey and so is the pub across the road
Location was fab. Room was very clean.
This is a really nice big town centre hotel. The price of the rooms was very reasonable - we were travelling as a family and were able to get 2 rooms at a great rate so had more room. The staff were really helpful.
Nothing all good.
It was comfortable very well located to everywhere
Nothing to dislike
the staff was very friendly, good place to stay because it's in the middle of everywhere and very clean
need more fans as it was hot and didn't have one in the room and asked at the front desk and didn't hear anything back apart from that everything was good
Room was small but comfortable for one night. Hotel was right in the middle of the town. Ample parking near by. Hotel check in and out efficient.
slightly bigger room but then we were hardly in it.
Rooms were lovely and great facilities
It was very hot, so would be nice to have a way to control the temperature in the room, as it made it tricky to sleep
Good breakfast
Good location
Ridiculous 8.50 for parking when a paying guest at hotel. Also having to pay by scanning a code is just too much hassle.
Centrally located, easily accessed. Little parking available although a good price of £8.90 for 24h. WiFi attempts to pay in the garage area although the reception staff member greatly assisted me. Access to the hotel rooms is via a quirky wander around following staff advice and signs for the hotel lifts. A comfortable clean room Very good buffet breakfast Short walk (8 mins) to the Theatre
There was some noise from a local pub up the road.
The staff were very welcoming The Room was very clean and bed was comfortable would recomend to family friends
The car parking,
Breakfast good lots of choice
Rooms obviously furnished fir short stays no drawers only a wardrobe
Central location. Clean, comfortable room.
The food was ok but nothing special.
Breakfast good lots of choices
No charging points in room , no housekeeping for short stay so no refill of coffee tray, no bed made , just no service to rooms but you still pay full nightly rates
Bedroom very clean and spacious
Nothing
Lovely clean modern hotel in the centre of the town. Would definitely return. Breakfast was varied and good quality, a great selection of food
Nothing
The location is central and there is a small car park with small spaces. The staff were all lovely and very helpful
We had some issues with the room:- a bedside lamp flickered constantly and the reading light did not work. The toilet was smelly and on day 2 we had no hot water. Despite this we enjoyed our stay.
Cleanliness
Nothing
Clean and tidy
The Food, Fish and Chips, firstly has no peas, chips were over cooked and all stuck together, fish was cheap Sainsbury’s 4 pack, you got 2 but I would advise to miss this of the menu
Hotel okay but very warm and room over a very noisy street with a karaoke bar.
The £50 payment on site for possible damage, still not received back 4 days later
Nice stuff
Bathroom shower it’s not working properly Mattress 😞 And the room not really clean
In centre clean
N/a
Convenient for what I was there for (central)
Bit shabby
Convenient as it was central
Bit shabby, threadbare carpet, some grouting needed and flooring in bathroom needed glued back. Toiletries would be better in bottles on the sink, fixed bottles are hard to use especially for older people handwashing was squirting everywhere
The bed was comfy
The room was not easy to get to having to use two lifts. The room spelled fosty and there was hairs in bathroom.splashes of poo on wall in bathroom.and floor seemed dusty and not clean. There was hole in the wall if the shower and shower head was dirty and not effective. The water in tap did not cool down so could not have a drink of water.. one of the plug sockets didn't work. We have stayed in better rooms at the mercury.
Very friendly staff
Nothing
Right in the centre of town, lots of areas to park not far from the hotel. Although rooms slightly on the small side, the beds were very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The body wash smelt great. For the price, this was a great hotel. Staff were attentative and very friendly. Could not fault the hotel
nothing
noisy pub over the road..fire alarms had fault no coffee from coffee machine at breakfast again as was none last time either
The property was in an ideal location for the event I was attending during my stay and located a couple of minute walk from the main town centre.
On entering the hotel, the staff were unwelcoming and enthusiastic. On Accor app and in the hotel policies that park is £5 however on arrival we found out that parking was £8.50 per day. The rooms appeared to be dated and in need of refurbishment as the carpet to Buck in and the wallpaper is coming off walls. The water pressure in the shower in my room was non-existent, resulting in not being able to take a shower for the whole of my stay. There was blood in the lift on arrival was reported to management but was still there eight hours later. Considering the breakfast were almost £14, I would say that the quality and choice was not £14 worthy, the coffee machine was broken so only dispensed Americanos. The whole hotel seemed dated and worn out and is in desperate needs to be refurbishment. Having stayed in many Accor group hotels in the past this hotel definitely does not live up to the standard of the Accor group
Clean comfortable bed and ideal location for my requirements. The reception staff were available on arrival and departure.
There was no body wash in the shower so I was unable to freshen up after our night out. The layout of the hotel was confusing, being in room 335 required us to change lifts on different floors encountering individuals who were lost between floors.
The bathroom was very big and well set up with bath and shower. This was good for my husband.
I struggled to get to our room and back due to being on the 3rd floor and being a wheelchair user. There were lifts but we had to use 2 different ones to get to our floor and the corridors were a bit confusing between lifts. In our room I couldn’t get past the end of the bed in my wheelchair so had to be assisted to the main part of the room and assisted to the bathroom. The sash window had bolts to keep it open but they didn’t fit into the holes so it couldn’t be left open. I couldn’t use the shower as I am unable to get into a bath and stand to shower, my shower chair wouldn’t fit.
Easy to get too, helpful and friendly staff. Wide range of choices for breakfast
Not many parking spaces and they are very tight. Unable to prebook parking. There was a multi storey further up the road though. A bit confusing to find the 4th floor as needed to use 2 separate lifts or staircases but fine once I’d done it a couple of times.
Comfortable bed, good breakfast, Quiet room Pleasant staff
Location - access through a back street Distance to room via passages and 2 lifts . No daily service for room No restaurant service in evening Ber food not good Broken kettle attended to but 2 other specific requests about the room were not. £50 deposit required for possible damages tells it all I think.
Friendly staff Neat and tidy rooms Good quality breakfasts Centrally located for shopping and leisure
Lacking air conditioning Better variety in restaurant would be beneficial
Convenient location for the town
Clean
Location and breakfast was good
Room was a bit noisy, as we had the window open door to be heat
It far exceeded expectations and was excellent value for a town centre hotel.
there was nothing not to like.
They took 50 pounds off me and have not paid it back
Its proximity to the main station. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable
It’s quite a maze with my room accessible not by one lift but two which meant for a time consuming trek back when I found I’d forgotten the plug to my phone
Well maintained room in the heart of Darlington. Furnishings and bedding were in good condition. We had a comfortable stay.
The floor layout (over two levels) was confusing.
Really handy central location.
Bathroom was a bit tatty (especially the wooden door).
Location.
When we arrived there were no spaces left in the car park. Not a great start,, although we were helpfully advised where to leave our vehicle in a nearby multi storey. The deposit of £50 does not sit well with me either, when the room we stayed in had the toilet roll holder had some sort of wall filler job done on it to keep it hanging on the wall. The Saturday night rate and the below average room standard, just didn't ĺmake it good value.
The location is very good. The staff are excellent.
On the bathroom door was someone's false eye lashes. Room felt a bit stuffy
Nice staff. Room was great, good size bathroom. Layout of hotel is fine; don't understand how people get confused as everything is clearly signposted.
Virtually everything was great. The headboard was a bit worn and the lighting could have been brighter but that's by the by. The main issue was we were in Room 371 which directly overlooks The Red Lion pub which had loud music blaring until 12.06am on one night. We appreciate it isn't the hotel's fault: it's a central location and we don't begrudge people a good time, it just doesn't make for a restful stay. There was also a pair of people who woke us up about 3am talking loudly whilst awaiting a taxi, again they probably had no idea that their conversation carried but it was tempting to yell out of the window! Would we stay again? Maybe but only if guaranteed a different, quieter part of the hotel.
Friendly staff, good location for what I was there for
Excellent location Wonderful staff
Breakfast and having a£50 deposit taken on arrival. I have stayed on this hotel on numerous occasions and don't recall this on previous stays
Decent hotel in great location to explore town and near station. It is quite confusing to find rooms but after 2 days I had it sussed. Room was nice but bathroom needed tlc
The walls are paper thing you could everything and i mean everything
Very friendly staff
Very loud from neighbouring pubs until about 1am
La chambre est bien équipée et en centre ville.
Pas assez de places de parking et très peu de renseignements fournis pour trouver un autre parking.
Excellent location centre of town near shops, restaurants bars and easy to find within walking distance from train station( 10 mins walk)
Bit like a maze! Easy to get lost. Very noisy from street bar opposite music till after 2 am🙈Breakfast great value but when the juice is gone it’s gone! No one filled it up so had to go without and the coffee machine just dispensed 1 coffee type the rest weren’t available and the milk dispenser part was broke too🙈
I am happy with nice room and comfortable and good shower. Good sleep and happy that keep me warm !! Happy with brilliant breakfast. It is really lovely good hotel. Thank you again.
Nothing at all.
The staff told me I had to pay a holding deposit of £50 but it wouldn't come out unless there was damage to the room etc but they took it straight out of my bank, the shower mat was covered in green mould and the room was caked in dust!
£50 book in fee still not returned
£50 check in fee
Location.
Room was supplied with a fan, but the room was still warm and stuffy. Pillows were non existent. I had to use a towel underneath to give any bulk.
Central location Walking distance to restaurants. Comfy bed and bath.
Rooms are ok but window was not closing and noise woke me up . they gave me another small room that was more quiet. Their parking is very small and more expensive than city parking building around corner.
The staff were very helpful.
We were told we could not eat in the restuarant but we could eat in the bar, however, the bar menu was very limited. The drinks prices were expensive given that there were another hotel and pub chain very close.
Central
Bath was chipped. There was no bath mat to step out onto I used a hand towel. The toilet flush only the small side worked. Furniture in reception very shabby.
Staff helpful polite
Nothing
Alte und zum Teil defekte Einrichtung. Fenster und Vorhänge total schmutzig,
Location
Room hot and stuffy . electric fan available which helped.window wouldn't open.
spacious room comfy bed cosy feel
the people outside
Location was great
Can park was not good. Managed to secure a space but couldn't use car to get about as we would lose our space even after paying for ut. Should state very limited parking available on main page. Very dirty tv remote.
Great location and price
Room was a bit warm despite having a fan, unable to open one of the windows which didn’t help
Right in the heart of everything.. lovely room breakfast was excellent
