Well maintained property, good breakfast spread and great hospitality by Abdul and Mr.Antony. Pet friendly was a big bonus.

Beautiful location with stunning views, clean and comfortable rooms, and very warm hospitality. The peaceful atmosphere made our family stay truly enjoyable and memorable.

There was nothing major to dislike. If I had to mention one thing, better signage to locate the property and a few more dining options on-site would make the experience even better.

Garden was the main attraction of the property. Staff is polite and friendly.

The road to the property was all broken and just a one way mud street which makes it difficult to commute frequently and rooms were just average as per price point.

We had an incredible experience at Sherlock. Every team member was so kind and attentive. Special mentions to Ali, Marshal, Anthony, Sanjay, and the other kitchen and cleaning staff. We truly felt at home thanks to the entire staff. It was a delight to interact with Sanjay, who took care of us like family and made sure his team did the same. Our room was beautiful, exclusive, full of flowers and great views. Great aesthetic inside as well. The food was yummy and homely. We celebrated two birthdays there, and the cake they brought was yummy as well. We are definitely going back.

Staff and view

I had an extremely distressing experience at Sherlock, and it was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. I was traveling with my 10-month-old baby and my 60-year-old mother, and the room provided was completely misleading compared to what was shown on Booking.com. This was very disappointing and concerning. What made the situation worse was the behavior of the staff. The front desk receptionist, Anthony, was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I raised my concerns, he raised his voice at me and was dismissive. He continued attending phone calls and ignored me, despite clearly seeing that I was traveling with a young baby and needed assistance. Given the circumstances, I felt very unsafe at the property. This is a serious concern, especially for families traveling with children and elderly members. Overall, I found the property to be highly misrepresented and the service unacceptable. The entire experience caused significant stress and discomfort.

The staff are amazing! Right from check-in they brought us a lovely hot lemon tea after our long delayed journey. The Indian food at dinner was delicious and the welcome chocolates to our room was a nice touch. The service was like staying in a 5 star hotel! They even brought us hot water bottles for the cold night. The room was nice and the garden lovely to sit in. Also a very scenic walk to tea plantations and the Sri government gardens.

Property location, ambience, breakfast spreads etc all are exceptional

Great Property. Awesome Food. Staffs are polite and helpful. Excellent service especially Mr Sanjay and Rama. Overall great experience, would like to repeat the stay in our next visit.

Last half km to the resort can be improvised (off roading). And the tariff also needs to be reduced a bit as per the facility.

The approach road ( last 100-200 metre) isn’t that great

Wonderful stay at Sherlock. The ambience was superb. Rooms were also clean and well maintained. Staff members were very helpful and friendly. Would certainly recommend it to friends and family.

Access was an issue as the road was quite narrow and untarred at places.

We had one of the rooms in the garden, which was very nice with lovely views. Very decent size with everything we required. The main building itself is very querky and laid out like a British country house. The staff were very nice and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was very very good. I would recommend The Sherlock if you find yourself in Ooty. Bring your own beer though as they dont have a bar. One of the staff David was a great help on this and arranged for beer to be delivered to the hotel for us.

Excellent staff. Extremely warm and welcoming. Bala and David made our stay comfortable. My pets were very happy

1) Do not take the mountain view room. The garden view room is what you need to take here. 2) The ventilation in the Standard room is a little poor. 3) Only the mountain room and the garden rooms are pet friendly. However, the staff was very accommodating when it came to our requests with the pet. They allowed our pets in the standard room.

exemplary staff - V good food- comfortable n clean rooms- modern bathrooms. lovely garden to bask in the sun. i hate to take names so i won’t but everyone down to the cleaning lady are so customer oriented and pleasant.

approach road v narrow- difficult for suvs when car comes from opposite side. ok in daytime but restricts movement to the town at dark.

Not value for money , room is nit spacious enough for the per day charge . No room heater in high end room , standard room needs to pay for room heater , its ooty …too cold also!… we got rooms in different places as we four of us has to stay too far , children and us .

The staff was great they had an excellence to amaze the customer's, we came late but they made it up for the service in the morning. MR DAVID ,MR Sanjay , the chefs Vignesh, and Balaji were ready to help and bring a good satisfaction to us during our stay through their services.

The view from mountain view room are excellent. Rooms are big and well lit . Staff is good and food is lip smacking. Beautiful place overall

Little more maintenance is needed in rooms and bathroom. The linen needs to be cleaned or changed . Furniture looks old and tattered . Bathroom faucet was leaking . No heater in room in cold weather

Very quirky hotel set in the hills above Ooty. The gardens are immaculate and beautiful and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The meals were good and the hot water bottles much appreciated.

It would be even better if they had Sherlock Holmes books / showed the films. And had the fire lit in the sitting room so you could get cosy around it in the evening. It’s really cold - blankets in rooms would be great.

The lawn was small but okay.

Cleanliness. Pet owners were trimming their pets in the lawn.Not a good sight to see.There were many stray cats in the property. Felt little unhygienic.Breakfast was not upto the mark.Orice being quite high,these things should be handled better. Rooms were very dingy.

The cottage is beautiful. Scenic beauty. Loved the cottage and nature theme.

Ooty weather is cold. The bonfire in cottage should be given as complimentary rather than charging for it. As we are already paying a good amount for cottage

The road to the hotel is definitely challenging. You'll most likely get lost if you try reaching there at night. The hotel should try to improve the last bit of road within their premises. The food items are bit costly.
