Very nice view. Very good breakfast and dinners! Recommended!

Vilket fantastiskt ställe - precis vad vi sökte. Det bästa boende vi hade under de två och en halv veckor vi reste runt i England, Wales och Skottland Otroligt läge, någon km från byn Beddlegert, till vilken man gick in till fots. Ville man inte gå in till byn för att äta så åt man mycket gott i boendets restaurang. Skönt att efter en dags vandring i de fantastiska bergen kunna relaxa och slippa jaga middagsrestaurang i byn. Frukosten, som man valde och beställde kvällen före, var supergod och man kunde även få med sig en lunch påse ut på vandringen.

Den smala vägen in till boendet. Men som ägarinnan sa; "Man vänjer sig snabbt." Vägen dit bidrog också med charm till stället!

Absolutely perfect stay at this lovely hotel nestled in Snowdonia national park. The staff were so lovely and friendly, and the breakfast was by far our favourite part of the day. They were also very kind and accommodating to our last minute late check in request due to traffic, and also provided us with extremely helpful instructions to find the hotel. The rooms were clean and bright, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. Wish we could have experienced the grounds a bit more during our stay but it was sadly pouring rain our whole trip! Also wish we could have stayed longer!

Driving up the steep hill was a bit nerve-wracking especially at night as it's one-way!

We enjoyed the environment surrounding the property. From our room (Room 1) both windows have distant mountain views. The common area has a glass roof sun room for reading and relaxing; there is also a cosy TV room.

The room was really small as there was no room to lay a suitcase opened on the floor. The ensuite bathroom was only about two square metres, once you sit on the toilet your knees could touch the wall. The drive way to this property was a shock to us visitors when we first arrived - there was only room for one car (cannot open car doors), to the point that pedestrians have to literally climb onto the stone fence on either sides to let the car through. If there is a car on the opposite directions, one of you will have to reverse to one of the 3 points (eg someone's driveway/front gate) closest to you so to make way for the other car. We understand this is one of the authentic experience for Wales. After 3 nights, we became experienced with this driveway and no doubt it was a memorable experience.

Wir hatten zwei schöne Tage im Sygun Fawr Country House und haben die Ruhe und das Beobachten der Vögel genossen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, leider ist der abendliche Küchenbetrieb nicht am Wochenende, aber es finden sich viel Restaurants im Ort. Ein wahrlich sehr liebevoll geführtes Haus, dass wir gerne weiterempfehlen.

Vor lauter Ausruhen haben wir es nicht auf den Snowden geschafft. :)

I love this place. If you want quiet and solitude this is the place for you. So relaxing and calming. Only a 15 minute walk into Beddgelert and lots of other walks on the doorstep. Breakfasts are beautifully cooked and very tasty. Cant wait to go again.

Breakfast was well presented and cooked to our preferences, staff were extremely helpful and Jane gave a comprehensive introduction on our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and the rooms were quiet and comfortable,

Excellent location for hiking right from the hotel; great communal spaces; loved the shower (hot and good pressure!); great breakfast and walkable to village for dinner; good selection in honesty bar. We enjoyed our 3 day stay.

Alles beviel 100 procent! Een kleine waarschuwing is het weggetje er naar toe dat nogal steil is, wij hadden gelukkig geen tegenliggers.

Charming and lovely place! Cosy, comfy, with really friendly hosts. Breakfast was great. Beddgelert’s centre is at only 15 minutes walk throught a beautiful path near the river. We definitely recommand it!

Everything. Fantastic hosts. The breakfast choice and quality was exceptional in the conservatory. Evening meal available Mon-Thurs was lovely. We enjoyed the individual garden areas, perfect for reading and chilling after a day's walking- with amazing views .Well stocked bar area with dart board -a great addition. 8 hours sleep each night, a combination of a comfy bed and clean air.

The grounds of this hotel were amazing, it was set in a beautiful garden, well tended by the owners and created a wonderful first impression. Inside, the decor was of an old-fashioned, country house style - which may not be to everyone's taste but was in keeping with the property's general demeanour. There were pleasant mountain views from our bedroom window. We selected this hotel to avoid staying in the village pubs, with all the noise that goes with that. Sygun Fawr Country House didn't disappoint in this respect, it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The gardens were a bird-watcher's paradise, with several feeding stations dotted around; we would have loved to have sat in the gardens for an hour to just watch and photograph them, had our itinerary allowed it.

Although nothing really wrong with the room, I didn't feel it quite matched up to the photos on Booking.com, as these seemed to portray a more luxurious feel than I experienced seeing the room for real. Breakfast was a real annoyance; as is often the case in B&Bs, you had to pre-order breakfast the night before. But whereas most establishments typically want just your cooked breakfast pre-order, perhaps tea or coffee as well, Sygun Fawr Country House wanted you to nail down everything, e.g., cereals, fruit juices, yogurt and fruit, including the contents of your fresh-fruit plate - instead of simply providing a selection of fruits or a prepared fruit salad. This was then brought to the table uncut, so melon slices had to be chopped up with a teaspoon or knife and fork. Then to cap it all, you were only a few mouthfuls into your fruit or cereal, when your cooked breakfast would arrive! This happened both days of our stay, so not likely a fluke off-day. I got the distinct impression the breakfast experience was run for the convenience of the kitchen staff rather than for the benefit of the guests. Another slight disappointment... I had seen from the FAQs that there was a restaurant on site. Maybe I didn't research thoroughly enough, but on arrival we discovered this only serves dinner on weekdays. Although we hadn't decided for certain that we would eat at the hotel for our Saturday/Sunday night stay, it would have been nice to have this as an option. Eating in the village can get very busy and quickly booked up in peak season.

The hotel was situated in a idyllic location. Such a peaceful, relaxing stay. We have been fortunate enough to stay in many places over the years but Sygun Fawr was the most relaxing place we’ve ever experienced. Jane, Jay and the team were so welcoming and, boy, can Jay cook! The entire stay was a joy.

Sehr nette Gastgeber, super Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in die Berge als auch an die Küste (30 Fahrminuten), schöner Garten, viel kleine gemütliche Sitzmöglichkeiten drinnen und draußen. Köstliches Frühstück ( Waffeln!). Gute Restaurants im Ort (15 Minuten zu Fuß). Gut sortierte selfservice Bar!

Wasser lief nur sehr langsam ab. Schade, dass man nicht an allen Tagen abends in der Unterkunft essen kann. Man muss das köstliche Frühstück im Detail am Abend vorher bestellen. Erscheint etwas kompliziert, danach wird jedoch auf alles eingegangen.

Lovely country house in beautiful countryside

Great location, giving easy access to the local town and many local attractions. Very good breakfast options - everything prepared to order. Jane and staff super friendly and responsive.

Access to the property via car is not for the faint hearted! Access road is super narrow, to the point of making it very difficult to pass a few people with a bicycle when we first arrived! Also, with all breakfast items prepared freshly, be prepared for a wait.

Close enough to the village to walk. Excellent breakfast. Excellent dinner. Catered for celiacs extremely well.

The road to the hotel is extremely narrow, with stone walls and bushes on both sides, and the final stretch is very steep. We found it so difficult to drive that we decided to skip our planned day trip and walk to the village instead. The bathroom was very small, and it was difficult to adjust the shower temperature.

Exceptional service in the most idyllic of locations. We were warmly greeted on arrival and made to feel like family. The room was perfect and the breakfast choices and quality would rival anywhere. The village is picturesque and provides all the services you could wish for with plenty of nice walks in the surrounding area.

This is a lovely country house in beautiful gardens. The breakfast was plentiful and I liked that we made our selection the day before. Our room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The weather was very hot but thankfully we had bought our own fan. A highlight of my stay was watching the bird feeders at breakfast where I saw a couple of Woodpeckers. We found this a good location for a 2 night stay.

As others have said the drive to the property is very narrow and steep.

Great situation, so quiet and peaceful. Very close to shops, pubs, walks, beautiful scenery, rivers, and a great place to base yourself for wider adventures in Snowdonia. The staff are so friendly, the breakfasts are great, delicious evening meals, homely environment and stunning views from the rooms.

Dit guesthouse is een pareltje in Noord Wales. Gelegen net buiten Beddgelert in een prachtige (rustige) omgeving en met een prachtige tuin. De locatie is zeer gunstig gelegen voor het bezoeken van de bekende attracties in Noord Wales. Het gebouw en de kamers zijn zeer verzorgd en comfortabel. Jane en haar collega’s zijn uiterst vriendelijk en betrokken bij de gasten zonder opdringerig te worden. Je geniet van veel vrijheid en aan de honesty bar kan je je eigen keuzes maken. Het ontbijt is uitstekend met veel keuzes. De avond van tevoren wel opgeven. Van maandag tot en met donderdag bestaat de mogelijk tot dineren. Daarvan hebben we tweemaal gebruik gemaakt en de kwaliteit was zeer goed. In veel reviews wordt melding gemaakt van de smalle en steile toegangsweg. Dat is inderdaad een probleempje maar het went snel. Gewoon een kwestie van rustig en voorzichtig rijden. Wij hebben in dit guesthouse een heerlijk verblijf gehad wat een zeer positieve bijdrage aan onze vakantie in Noord Wales heeft gehad.

Jane and Jay were excellent hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible, 5*. Options at dinner were limited, however they suited our taste and were extremely well cooked and presented. Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable.

The only drawback for us was the drive up to the property, steep and narrow.

It’s nestled between mountains and ideally located as only a short walk from a picturesque a village. It’s a home from home and Jane the host was so welcoming. Jerry the cook, rustled up gastronomic delights and the breakfast menu was superb.

Beautiful property based in the quiet village of Beddgelert. The property is very well maintained. The interior is decorated with classy antique furniture and the property has a big beautiful garden and watching a variety of birds from time to time was a delight .The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food that we had was delicious too.

The path that leads to the property from the main road is extremely narrow.

Our host was excellent, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was lovely with character and a brilliant view.

Beautiful location. Spacious room. The best vegan breakfast my husband's ever had at a hotel/ guest house.

The anxiety-inducing lane to get to the property - a single narrow track. We found the beds a little uncomfortable but accept there's an element of personal preference in choice of mattress.

Its a beautiful house, that held so much character. The gardens were well kept and beautiful with bird life abounding. The location was incredible with Snowdonia on your doorstep. The local village of Beggelert was a short walk and was lovely. Jess and her mum Jane were wonderful hosts. The breakfast were fantastic. With view of the garden.

The 300-400 yards in a single track road was a little daunting, especially if another vehicle was coming. No real passing places but it didn't happen often and worth it for place

Single track lane with stone walls either side with bends then a steep single track long driveway. Which is easy managed as long as no one comes other way. Then someone needs to back up

It a wonderful place with excellent and friendly staff. Loved the huge hot breakfast. The rooms very comfortable, lots of places to just sit and relax on the premises.

The last bit of drive to the place as one gets off the main road is tricky. It may just be 500 yards or so given the narrow road and the steep slope make for some skilled navigation

Grounds are beautiful but place did not have a good feel to it . Bacon was overcooked and eggs not really cooked properly either morning . Just feel like it missed the mark.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable and I struggled to get my suitcase up the very narrow stairs and the door was so stiff to open that I struggled to drive home due to the pain in my back.

•Entre l'hôtel et la maison d'hôte, nous avons été reçu pour 2 nuits au coeur de Snowdonia avec énormément de générosité et de sympathie de la part de Jane et sa fille, toujours disponibles et souriantes. Le petit déjeuner servi est excellent. La chambre est spacieuse et plutôt confortable. Le lit est parfait. L'établissement est absolument magnifique, et le personnel propose une visite des différents lieux de vie commune à disposition des clients (bar, salons, bibliothèque...). C'est un endroit très calme propice au repos et aux randonnées. Le wifi fonctionne très bien dans cette zone où peu de réseau est disponible. Si vous aimez la simplicité et la générosité, foncez au Sygun Fawr Country House, vous serez parfaitement reçu. J'ai aimé les explications sur l'historique de l'établissement dans le carnet d'accueil des visiteurs. Toujours plaisant de découvrir l'histoire d'un si bel établissement.

Quelques axes d'améliorations pour vous rapprocher encore plus de l'excellence (mais bien sur cela n'enlève absolument rien à la qualité de cet établissement) : - la gestion des commandes du petit déjeuner me semble un peu complexe - la chambre n'avait pas été chauffée avant notre arrivée tardive, il a donc fallut attendre quelques heures avant d'avoir la température souhaitée - nous avons trouvé une araignée et un autre insecte dans la salle de bain : aucun problème avec ça pour nous, surtout à la campagne, nous les avons accompagnés vers la sortie, mais j'imagine que certains visiteurs peuvent être plus regardant sur ses détails - je n'ai pas été gêné par cette arrivée par cette étroite route de campagne, cela fait parti du charme de ce séjour à Snowdonia, en revanche l'arrivée nocturne mériterait peut-être un peu plus de lumière : rien d'exceptionnellement dérangeant encore une fois, juste une solution pour une expérience non pas exceptionnelle mais fabuleuse. Encore merci pour tout !!!!

The location was stunning, a picturesque country house set in the Snowdonia mountains.

We only had a handheld shower over the bath. This was not conducive to easy and quick showers. The literature did not mention the country lane to access the hotel. Please note when booking that it is very beautiful but was not created for larger modern cars. The journey to and from was quite a challenge.

The location is beautiful, quiet and a fantastic place to relax. The owners and staff (special shout out to Tino) are friendly, professional and very helpful. The food is fresh, wholesome and cooked to perfection. This is a great place in a great location, whether you are the outdoor type, want to explore the local area or just want to sit and read or even paint in the beautiful well kept garden, there is something for everyone. We will definitely visit again and recommend you do the same!

Liked absolutely everything! The hotel is in an incredible location, very picturesque, with a beautifully maintained garden cared for with great love and attention. The breakfasts are true masterpieces created by the chef. The owner and staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable, and housekeeping was done daily.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and valued as visitors to such a fantastic home. The house was like a home in every way with well thought out rooms for guests to relax in, fantastic gardens and extremely comfortable guest rooms and facilities.
