Clean comfortable room Lovely bed linen. Friendly helpful staff.

The location suited our needs. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Carpet in the room was very stained. Ceiling had water marks from leaks. Scaffolding up so being dealt with but room shouldn't have been let out.

Superb location next to the Hoe monuments and easy walk to Barbican. Breakfast was tasty and so nice to be able to order from a varied menu for hot food instead of a buffet. The fruit/cereals etc were nice and varied. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff I met were so polite, engaging and helpful which made my short stay in Plymouth even better than expected. Do try the Bentley lounge sofas! Thank you.

Very friendly staff. Well laid-out and comfortable room. We were there during exceptional heat and were thankful for the fan. Excellent breakfast, too. And to top it off, the location is hard to beat, a few steps from the sea!

The material state of the room was poor. There was damp in the corner and all the way up the wall. The wooden window felt rotten and I worried about closing it. There was peeling paint, unfinished work and paint work around wires through the wall, and the bathroom had several maintenance issues and mould around the silicone.

Great location on Plymouth Hoe. Parking on site.

Location near the sea front and very convenient for the ferry port. Nice decor and feel to the downstairs areas.

No lift so had to climb several flights of stairs to get to our room. Our room had character but was small and the floor was uneven.

A likeable small hotel that is clean, comfortable and well-run with particularly friendly and helpful staff. The location is excellent, a few minutes' walk to Plymouth Hoe, the Barbican and the shopping centres, and about a 20 min walk from the railway station. Despite its central location, it is a quiet street with little traffic. There is a good choice of breakfast options, not least the full English but also fresh fruit and yoghurt etc. We were glad of the fan in the room.

A fridge in the room would be nice.

Da es sich wohl um 2 nebeneinander liegende Hause handelte, gab es 2 nebeneinander liegende Treppen die jedoch sehr schlecht begehbar sind. Aufzug leider nicht vorhanden - Schade

Nach einem langen Tag auf der Fähre wurden wir sehr nett begrüßt. Ein nettes Hotel.

Ottima posizione a pochi passi dalla Smeaton's Tower. Staff cortese e disponibile, pronto a consigliare e ad aiutare.. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

The bathroom was far too small for 2 people sharing you could only for one person in it, FAR TOO SMALL.

La posizione dell'albergo, molto comoda per girare anche a piedi. Possibilità di parcheggio ma necessario prenotare, perché ci sono pochi posti

Camera al terzo piano, no ascensore e con rampe di scale ripide, molto molto scomode da fare con le valigie. Camera molto più piccola rispetto alle foto, nemmeno somigliante. Non ha assolutamente le caratteristiche di un 4 stelle. Aspettative un po' deluse. Accoglienza da migliorare. La posizione comunque è comoda.

Sarà anche stata l’ultima camera disponibile ma la sistemazione al piano terra non era proprio quello avrei desiderato, definirla fredda e anonima è poco.

They charged upon arrival by bank transfer giving VAT reciept on hotel name and tried to get transfer in personal account at night , you have no option but to proceed it and they knew at 12am you cannot go anywhere else , we prebooked this hotel using our card which i have concern that they stored the card details

The staff were lovely and it was in a super location.

The room was an attic room, which did have it's charm, but wall paper was peeling from one of the walls and there was only trickling water from the shower.

Positive start: The Invicta is a lovely hotel with an excellent central location.

However, our experience with the room allocation was disappointing. Having booked a "Superior Double" via Booking.com, we were assigned a top-floor attic room facing the back. It looked nothing like the Superior room photos, but matched their Standard room photos exactly. Reception claimed it was "technically" a Superior. Working professionally with hotel bookings myself, I understand some hotels' frustration with third-party commission fees—but joining these platforms is entirely voluntary. Treating Booking.com guests as second-class customers is short-sighted, especially since without the platform, I wouldn't have booked here at all. Being given the worst Superior room—or more likely downgraded to a Standard—is clearly a management policy, not the front desk's fault. In fact, the receptionist was wonderfully helpful and eventually convinced her supervisor to approve a room change. Full marks to her for her care and service.

Breakfast service was good, staff very friendly and accommodating and quality of food available was overall good.

The cleaning and decor of the room was far below standard, cracked sink, peeling wallpaper and bathroom flooring and the vents and fans were full of dust that hadn’t been cleared in at least months.

No parking ( no information about booking parking separate) very small room with no Air conditioning. Water pressure very weak, no drinking water in the room.

Beautiful building and very friendly staff who go out of their way to welcome you. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of choices. First class cleanliness, beds amazing. If you like swimming,just a short walk to the sea or lido.

Had a lovely week long stay at the Invicta. Staff were excellent and super friendly with a special mention for Ruth who was outstanding. Very good location with all the sights within easy walking distance. Rooms were ok and well cleaned. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Would definitely return.

Weather! But can't blame the hotel for that....

It's not that I didnt like it but I did think for a superior king room it was a little on the small size.

Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed and bedding were really comfortable. The shower was strong. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is located very close to Plymouth’s main attractions. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
