Ian and Suzy were great hosts. Great decor, quiet room with very comfortable bed and great shower. Great location a couple of minutes walk from Plymouth Hoe. Hotel bar very well stocked with local beer, cider, whisky and gins….
Absolutely nothing!
Really welcoming, lovely staff & beautiful rooms.
.
Excellent location, excellent hosts and excellent bed!
Great place and host. Location was spot on.
Nothing
The location is superb as it is very close to The Hoe but also not far from the Barbican, the theatre or the shops. The room and en-suite were spotlessly clean. There were fluffy white towels, quality toiletries, cotton bed linen and a comfy bed. A kettle with a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets were in the room along with bottled water. The couple who run the guest house are lovely and helped to make our stay even more enjoyable.
There wasn't anything we felt could be better.
Lovely hosts, so helpful, welcoming and very people friendly. The hotel is quite retro, which we loved. The rooms are well insulated so couldn't hear other guests. Brilliant location, we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you
The parking on the street is pretty expensive, but again the hosts came to the rescue, and were able to offer a discount on the parking. Just brilliant
Gorgous Victorian townhouse. Love the quirky and modern style of the room which was immaculate clean. The owners are absolutely lovely
Nothing
Excellent location, friendly and knowledgeable hosts and an all round fantastic hotel.
Lovely quirky old style hotel Owner very helpful and friendly
Friendly, responsive hosts. Beautiful, unique decor. Comfortable bed. Bathroom that accommodated a very tall person (bath long enough and shower tall enough). Well supplied with necessities. Well located for seafront access by foot (10 minute walk), close to amenities. Very clean throughout, which we appreciated.
No designated parking. We parked at garage 12 minute walk away - extra cost, less convenient. Loading/unloading bags relied on luck getting roadside space nearby. No air-con in hotel during hot weather meant the room got rather hot. At night we opened sash windows, used fan provided. Having a/c would have made the room perfect.
Such a pleasant surprise when I walked through the door. Tastefully decorated and a lovely feeling. The rooms were great and the bathroom and products were lovely. Breakfast was delicious. It was an absolute find.
It was a beautiful, unique hotel . The owners were amazing , lovely couple , nothing was too much trouble , they made us feel very welcome .
Owners were really friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were spotlessly clean and facilities excellent. Location is great for the Hoe, Barbican and Town Centre. Breakfast was the best I have had in Plymouth, really excellent ! Will definitely be returning !
coffee sachets would have been better than coffee bags. I like strong coffee and bags are not good. This is being really picky as everything down to lots of detailed things was excellent (great toileteries, fan in room, good wifi, living area and bar, really inviting, wine list in room etc.
Lovely Victorian townhouse. Love the quirky and modern style of the room. Which was immaculate clean. The owners are absolutely lovely

The couple running the hotel were very warm and friendly. The hotel has a really nice style to it. Our room was more stylish than we expected.
The best thing about the property is the staff and vibe. Frustratingly booked this place on my last visit to Plymouth whilst attending my daughter’s graduation. The decor is lovely and they serve proper barista coffee and high quality product breakfast. My husband and I are quite picky and this place was just fabulous for us. Bed linen and pillows super comfy. You could tell the owners have not scrimped on setting up the property.
Nit picking here, but like most UK properties, no air-con and the bed is a bit small as we are used to KS bed
Friendly, comfortable and an excellent location! Highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel. The owners are lovely and the breakfast has a great selection. We would definitely stay again.
Love the quirky and modern style of room. Which was immaculate clean. The owners are wonderful

Friendly owners and faultless stay with excellent breakfast

Wonderful hotel, perfection location.
Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely use The Craft House again. Gorgeous property.
Super staff, lovely room and spotlessly clean
nothing - it was fabulous!
I really loved how friendly and accommodating the staff were! Also the room was a lovely size, clean and so comfy! Can’t fault my stay one but super happy 😁
Nothing no complaints from from me or my partner we had a lush time 🙌🏻
The property was excellent! So clean, really well furnished and love the vibe. The staff were excellent also, they would bend over backwards to make sure your stay was good!

Lovely welcome, very clean, lovely place to stay, decor fantastic, location is excellent.
There is nothing we did not like.
It’s beautifully decorated throughout. It’s quirky and interesting. With lovely attention to detail, for example all the games in the bar.
Nothing. The rooms are over a number of floors so recommend you request a room on a lower floor if stairs are a problem for you.
Location. People. Decor. Cosy environment. Lots of little touches. Exceptionally clean. Quality fixtures and fittings. Great little bar.
Tele too small- but that’s about my eyesight probably! Can see why it’s a small one given wall space.
Quiet location, great breakfast, lovely bar area serving a good choice of wine, beer and spirits.
No complaints
Breakfast was really good quality but was an extra cost. The room and whole of the hotel was excellent and very well decorated. Ideal location for the Hoe, Sutton harbour etc , as both within easy walking distance.
Couldn’t see anything on the website about breakfast and had to ask about it on arrival.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely hotel, comfortable and decorated beautifully.
Room was a little cold for me but my partner found it was no problem. I didn’t ask about heating and I’m sure staff would have turned the heating up had I asked. But maybe it could be slightly warmer when you arrive in the room. Would just make the lovely room feel cosy.
Breakfast was excellent, bath in the room was divine. Shower was large with great pressure. The bed was comfortable and spacious. The hotels is close to the town centre and lots of eateries.
There was nothing I disliked
Excellent little hotel perfect location for a visit to the Hoe and Barbican or a show at the Pavilions.
The hosts were spectacularly helpful. They were right there to meet me and show me to my room when I arrived. So many of the "touristy" things that I was interested in were within walking distance. The Plymouth Ho, the Mayflower Steps Memorial and Museum, the Gin Distillery, and the Barbican, which was a perfect walk around for a first timer. This was one of the most beautiful boutique hotels I have been in.
It was very unique in style
Nothing
Fantastic location, small friendly hotel run by couple who genuinely want to make your stay as good as possible. Wonderful breakfast!!!
Nothing!
Everything! The warm welcome, ease of check-in. the location close to Plymouth Ho and some excellent restaurants, the bar, our room with water, tea/coffee and biscuits and the truly exceptional breakfast, cooked and served by our host who seemed to do everything in the place
Liked everything
Trendy townhouse 1minute walk from The Hoo.

Stunning room, location, friendly and endlessly helpful owners, what's not to like? We can't wait to stay again!

Friendly staff. Very comfortable cosy and spotlessly clean
Great location and lovely room. Owners were very helpful and stored our bikes with no trouble
Beautifully created Craft House focusing on local skills and wooden artifacts. Extremely high standard of decor and cleanliness. Well-stocked bar and excellent, freshly cooked breakfast. Lovely little roof top garden.
For those who are physically challenged, there are steep stairs and no lift.
The building is a gorgous Victorian townhouse. Loved the quirky styling of the rooms and communal areas. The room was immaculate clean

We had a really lovely stay at The Craft House. The room and particularly the bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and the hosts were so lovely! Highly recommended!
First class. Friendly, informative, beautifully decorated and close to all things.
Beautiful place, but the decor was a bit too dark for my taste, could do with brightening up a bit, but each to their own.
Just the colour scheme.
Friendly and helpful hosts. High quality ingredients used in the full English breakfast. Quirky and interesting decor on the craft theme. Excellent variety of complimentary teas and coffee in the room. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom . To sum up - top notch attention to detail! We were visiting for the fireworks competition and the location was ideal - minutes from the Hoe.
Nothing
Great little place with an excellent host in a good location. Arrived for the weekend and on arrival was given a map, the host explained and pointed out all the best places to visit in the area. The room was small but ideal with a really comfy bed in it, modern bathroom with powerful shower, and tv and radio. Was a sunny weekend and found the bedroom to be quite warm however I found a fan in the wardrobe upon leaving, which I wish I’d have opened earlier ha. If ever in Plymouth again I would book again at this place without hesitation.
Nothing.
The owners are very nice, they have a lovely dog called Twigs. They offer one of the best breakfasts I've ever had.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, gave great recommendations for the area and fulfilled our special request (two duvets on one bed). The interior is well thought out and nicely decorated. The location is pretty central and you can park on the street near the hotel (for a small fee).
The room and bathroom were very small. There was almost no space to put our stuff, especially our hand luggage. The bathroom could use some hooks to place towels or clothes. The bed was way too narrow for two people.
Location, decor, cleanliness and the owners
Nothing.
The nicest staff we’ve ever had.
Staff were really helpful and kind. Room was immaculate, bathroom was spotless and linens were high-quality and pristine. Bed was comfy, and some nice touches like local treats and toiletries. The breakfast was really good quality and reasonably priced. Biggest downside is that the room was cramped— we were on a several-day trip, so it was hard to manage our large suitcases in the space. Would have also helped to have some more hooks or something to hang clothes and towels from. Overall, would definitely stay here again, though might shell out for a larger room.
Lovely breakfast freshly cooked to order Location convenient for Plymouth Hoe Manager/Host extremely helpful Well equipped bedroom Great decoration throughout the hotel
The Craft House was perfectly situated for a few days exploring the beautiful seaside Hoe and the cobbled streets of the Barbican, the room was quaint and clean and Ian, Suzy and Twiglet were extremely hospitable. At one point, we mentioned that our GPS had gotten us lost earlier in the day, so Suzy walked us to the Royal Citadel to get us to the tour we'd booked on time. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. We hope to return!
It is owned by a couple who are super nice and friendly. Amazing location, cleanliness and breakfast. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was incredible. If I ever return to Plymouth, I will stay there again.
My stay was perfect
We were just up for the one night for the music on Plymouth Hoe. It was literally a 10 minute walk from The Hoe which was handy because the weather was horrendous. We were greeted at the door by Ian and Twigs. The guest house is immaculately decorated and I was impressed as soon as I walked in through the door. We booked a cosy double which for the one night was perfect. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and spotless. The shower was quite possibly the best shower I've had in any hotel I've stayed in. On checking out we had a brief chat with Ian and Suzy (and Twigs) who were really friendly and obviously worked really hard to maintain such a wonderful guesthouse. I would highly recommend staying there and we'd definitely go back.
Lovely friendly B&B with very stylish rooms and a memorable and delicious breakfast. Owners are very welcoming and happy to help. Thoroughly recommended.
Very clean, great furnishings, comfortable bed and welcoming staff.
The walls were a bit thin and we could hear people having conversations in neighbouring rooms.
Lovely hotel, Perfect location, very comfortable and tastefully furnished, lovely owners, would definitely stay again when next in the area. Perfect location if attending the summer sessions on the Hoe as only a short walk. Highly recommended - thanks Paul & Sarah
A lovely boutique style small hotel. All within local walking distance to the city or Royal William Docks. A friendly welcome and very clean establishment. All at a great price too. Parking though can be an issue. Speak to manager about securing a parking space. Will definitely stay again when in area.
Lovely little place, wonderful hosts, fab room and I can't say enough about the breakfast and particularly the coffee! Going to Plymouth? Stay at the Craft House.
It was raining in Plymouth
Had a great two night stay here mid week whilst in town for work. The hotel is in a great location just off the Hoe and within walking distance of everywhere you’d want to go in Plymouth. It’s a really funky and relaxed place which has been tastefully refurbished. Bedrooms super comfortable and well stocked bar. And delicious breakfast! Will be back for leisure later in the year…

This is the best Hotel we stay at in the UK, the hosts Ian and Suzi are amazing people and make your stay so welcoming. The breakfast is the best breakfast we have ever had (especially the tomatoes). If you are looking to stay in Plymouth then stay here, you won’t be disappointed!!
Very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make my stay perfect. Rooms were immaculate. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious.
Everything
[ ] The Craft House is so fabulous, you could stay for one night or forty and still not want to leave! I can't believe how lucky I am to have booked it. Suzi and Ian are the epitome of welcoming hosts, nothing is too much trouble and everything is thought of for their guests to have a comfortable, relaxing and lovely break. The decor and ambience of the Hotel is perfect thanks I think to Suzi in the main. The room I had was great, clean and comfy. The breakfast room was was beautifully decorated with murals of local crafts and the breakfast itself was delicious. The bar was excellent for a relaxed evening before bed and my Loquaciousness/notoriety for talking rubbish for hours was received with genuine graciousness and for that I will be forever grateful. 😊 [ ] The Craft House is so fabulous, you could stay for one night or forty and still not want to leave! Fantastic hotel and the hosts were lovely. Everything we wanted and couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely stay again.
Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Loved the hotel decor and room, including the refreshments in the room. Spotless room and bathroom. Very convenient location. 100% recommend and would stay again if in Plymouth.
A very minor point but it would have been helpful to have been informed by the hotel prior to or during our stay about the closure of the hotel where the hotel is situated (and where we parked our car) due to the half marathon. Unfortunately we were unaware of this and only found out through friends on the night of our stay that the road (as per the marathon website) would be entirely closed from 4am. Unfortunately, this impacted the enjoyment of our stay. Otherwise, could not fault the hotel, or staff.
What a fantastic little Gem by the sea. I travelled to Plymouth due to a family emergency and had to make a last minute hotel booking. They were ready and waiting for me 10 minutes after my booking. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We relaxed after checking in at the lovely bar / lounge / games room. The whole hotel is fantastically decorated! Everything you need in the rooms and the breakfast was fantastic. The location was also amazing. A few yards walk to the hoe with a lovely view of the ocean! We will definitely come back here again! Thank you!
Nothing, it was perfect!
Really enjoyed my stay at the Craft House. My room was lovely and the hotel did a great breakfast and had a really nice bar. Would recommend
Great location not far from Plymouth Hoe and walkable to the Barbican area . Beautifully decorated boutique hotel with enormous attention to detail . Nods to the past but with a contemporary feel . Extremely comfortable king size bed and the breakfast was excellent . The owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful: they were the best hosts I have come across in my travels - and the Pimms we had in the bar was delicious!
Personally I would have liked the option of a bath in the room . I think some rooms do have baths, they just weren't available . The rainfall shower in my room was heavenly though .
Pretty much everything, from the warm welcome and help with my bags up the stairs, the arty and cosy decor and luxurious rooms with the comfiest bed i think I’ve ever slept in. Perfect location for a leisurely weekend close to both coastline, restaurants and town for shopping.
