Great location – convenient to the lake, town centre, restaurants and attractions. Not that quiet but somehow peaceful in the early morning.

The accommodation itself was nice, but unfortunately the service at reception was disappointing. The receptionist was lazy, unwelcoming and did not make any effort to provide a pleasant experience for guests. Good customer service is an important part of hospitality, and this was the main negative aspect of our stay. He answered the call but he was on break. He said to call back in 30 minutes. We could have called back if he told us earlier that he is on break or should not have answered the call. He wants us to use the main door and turn all the way back to carry our things yet our room was just next to the exit and did not offer any trolleys. Indian guy.

Room bedding was clean. Floor was dusty. Kitchen smelt pretty rank. Bathhroom cleanliness was below average.

Easy check-in, fair prices, and a great location. I always return because I love this spot—it’s perfect for my work commute and nice and close to Taupō CBD. Safe, secure, and always a great place to stay. Highly recommend!

Very cold room and dust in all the corners of the carpet. Did not make the room have a clean feel to it. Tv remote had a dead battery. Lots of hangers in the showers were broken.

Decent sized room, bath, parking, close to town centre, and tidy.

Large bedroom window had no privacy . So neighbour's could see right through to our bedroom (no nets or tinted windows). Bunk beds were wobbly and noisy. Was supposed to have a queen sized bed, instead we got 2 x single beds that were pished together, and they were uncomfortable.

The room had everything we needed, plus a bath. On a nice evening it was a pleasant walk into town to get a meal. Nice view across the lake from the small balcony.

A little austere. Air-con did not initially work. Had to wait whilst towels were delivered. Hot water could have been warmer.

We really liked how it was central, so close to the city and Chemist Warehouse for the last-minute shop. The kitchen is also massive and clean. Check in & check-out were easy, and the staff were polite.

The bed was a bit stiff, but it's only my preference; my partner didn't mind it at all.

Unfortunately the room and facilities were dirty, toothpaste spit all down the bathroom wall, stains on the headboard, and shower glass covered in grime are just the start. My partner and I were so appalled with the cleanliness, we did not even use the shower facilities in the morning, and made an early exit. Property seems more like a hostel, with people running up and down the halls, and noise from the shared kitchen (which our room was next to) throughout the evening). Staff not present at reception, took 3 rings of the belll just to check in, and everything closed at check out. Unfortunately for nearly $200 for 1 night, we are highly disappointed.

Lots of off street grass parking for trailers

Very dated, paint work, old, dated. Felt very grimy, they need to remove the ciggy tray at front door to deter the people off the street looking for butts.

Very dirty kitchen facilities, marks all over the doors and walls in our room and hallways and bathrooms, our bathroom steamed up because the fans didnt work and we're still steamy in the morning it was that bad it was completely wet!! there was a great deal of mold, the bed had 2 single mattresses on it instead of a king which separated threw the night, I wouldn't cook here there was no dish cloths and dirty brushes for cleaning the dishes hence why the "clean" dishes were still dirty when straight from the cupboards, 2 tea towels that were filthy for the whole kitchen to use to dry dishes. No ash trays in the smoke areas so ciggy butt's were left on the ground everywhere.. the price was ok the staff were friendly on arrival...

We have always wondered what this place was like and it was more than we thought. It is just the right walking distance from the CBD. The room was clean. A little dated and could do with a paint, but there was a kitchenette with a sink in the room so you didn't have to fill the jug from the toilet, which we don't like having to do. The bed was okay.

Very warm with heatpumps everywhere. Upgraded us without issue very reasonably as we needed a fridge for my boys diabetes medication. Impeccably friendly staff. I cant rate them highly enough for making me feel welcome. Id love it if they were my staff in my business and I think some were owners or management. Lovely people. Great parking. Big shared kitchen for rooms with shared kitchen facilities. Will definately stay there again. Accommodation was adequate for the cost and the beds were fab in room 201. Both of us had a good sleep in different beds. We stayed in the budget friendly accommodation this time and will stay in their self contained units next time to compare.

It's hard to be hard on people who understand that warmth in the winter is a must and they nailed it. We stayed in the budget accommodation so Id like to see what top end provides next time. I will be contacting the establishment to suggest the things that I feel need immediate attention in the room we stayed in. Simple fixes here and there that wont let the place down. They truely deserve some help to deliver next level experience for guests. I really appreciate genuine people and I believe these people are. I took photographs that I will share directly with them along with my feedback.

Our room was beside a dormitory type room that was noisy. Expected a 2 bedroom apartment but got 2 rooms with a bathroom across the hallway. Parking was limited and I couldn't get a spot.

The rooms were not clean they stunk and the promise of a kitchen was not met and all booking requirment's were not clearly stated.

Was good.. I think be good if the room had some cutlery but it was a great stay thank you

Cheap price, decent sized rooms and good location. Rooms and bathroom clean, hallway didn't seem to be the same standard.

We booked the two-bedroom apartment, but it wasn't. Two separate rooms into a hallway which had the bathroom in it. Made a bit difficult with the locks between all the rooms and if we wanted to come and go separately. Also felt like we were in the staff accommodation section not the actual motel. I suspect the more positive reviews were from the rooms in the rest of the building.

Nothing we were moved up the road to Aurora Hotel due to a circuit problem and generally you get an upgrade for the inconvenience sadly it was terrible.

Rubbish bags scattered around the back. Single glazed with a $15 heater from The warehouse. You couldnt fill up the jug in the sink. The fan dripped on your head in bathroom. No TV. Eyelash with mascara stuck to the sheets. The carpet looked like garage carpark. I could go on and on.

Comfortable rooms

Great accomodation for a short stay. The room was nice and quite big. The staff was helpful and it was possible to store a bag there even before check-in.

The reception was completely empty before the start of check-in time. But it was possible to meet a member of staff who helped me to store my bag.

We were supposed to have a crib for our baby and the room didn’t have it even when I had the confirmation for our request . The WiFi doesn’t work too well at night and even the next day so that was a little it not too good

Nothing because our booking was cancelled due to a card error that was corrected within the allotted time, but was told booking had been re-sold when we arrived at reception.

The guy at reception recommended the Aurora Inn just up the road and said to mention his name for a discount off a fairly high price. I booked immediately with booking.com for $60 less than he said it cost. The Aurora Inn was waiting for us, and when they realised we were not paying top dollar, downgraded us into the worst room we have ever seen. Beware!!!

The location was okay and the price was affordable.

The room smelt weird and the bathroom did not seem to be regularly cleaned. There was a general feeling of uncleanliness. The walls are thin and we had noisy neighbours coming and going at all hours.
