The photos on booking.com don’t correlate with the property itself, the pub is very dirty, didn’t particularly want to touch anything or sit on fabric furniture due to the years of built up grease and dirt. Very clear drug users, messy in places, doesn’t look to be regularly cleaned and maintained, upstairs landing and rooms uncomfortably hot and rooms are small, there was an old air con machine available but couldn’t see viable instructions, opened the window to see an abundance of cigarette ends. We left our two night stay after about 40 minutes of arrival and booked into Hustyns about 10 minute drive from this property.

Location Breakfast was very good and staff were friendly.

Run down, tired and needing lots of attention. Bathroom appliances very poor , tap for over bath shower almost impossible to turn off. Water spraying into floor as n curtain at end of bath. Toilet cistern making very loud noises . Sanilav maccerator sounded blocked and did not always flush properly. Needs replacing. Main entrance carpet /stair carpet needs a good clean.

Room was clean. Alex the bartender/receptionist was a very Helpful person. If not for him I wouldn’t have stayed. 🙂

Access stairs to upstairs was diabolical and dirty. (Seriously unhealthy) shocking 😮 Furniture seems to have aged and falling apart. Only one power socket (for kettle) other one hidden behind a closet. (Can’t use) Bathroom pumps (flush) was emptied by a pump that sounded like a Truck engine and woke the whole floor up. Zero privacy no sound proofing. Kettle stained. No drinking water. The taps were dirty and scaled up. In all terrible experience. I did not get anything I paid for…. Also car park 1/2 a mile away (but you get told 100 yards) and completely dark. Couldn’t locate the pay machine in the Dark… but you get told 100 yards. Car park charges are £6.90 for a night. I would be insisting on a Refund on “consumer rights” grounds. Constant noise throughout the night. Trucks loading and unloading. Unsafe windows that have low openings, and children could fall out onto the High street.

Parking - pay and display 5 min walk from the hotel which is not too much of a problem. When I phoned I was told the parking would come off food but was told later this is only for breakfast. We didn't have breakfast as it started at 9 or 9.30 which was too late for us. Think it should be deducted if you eat at the pub whether dinner or breakfast

Biggest disappointment is that breakfast wasn't available until 9.30!! If you are working, that's not acceptable. Staff were good.

Firstly when we arrived Mark denied we had booked there. Only when I showed the booking on my phone did he say oh it has just come through Toilet flush sounded like a freight train each flush. Water wouldn’t run out of the bath when we showered. Drinks charges were exceptionally over the top we were charged for incorrect drinks doors slamming all through the night

We were only staying for one night, to see family,but everyone was very helpful and friendly and the pub was a really nice vibe.

Staff friendly, good central location for Wadebridge. Nearby parking for cheap fee, we parked at Piggy Lane.

The room was unbearably hot, making it very difficult to sleep on either night of our stay. We appreciate the weather was exceptionally warm, but even with the window open and the fan running continuously, the room remained extremely uncomfortable. After raising the issue both during and after our stay, it became apparent this is a known problem during hot weather, with the only solution being an extra fan. The staff were genuinely lovely, but a hotel's primary purpose is to provide a comfortable night's sleep, and unfortunately that wasn't our experience. Something to bear in mind if you're planning to stay during the warmer months. I think for the price paid it was a disappointing experience.

The room was clean and comfortable overlooking the other side of the main street offering peace and quiet

2 sets of stairs to climb, a challenge for my partner. No parking available, we managed to do it at the Coop. TV not working, no signal available. We didn't fancy going downstairs to watch the match. To leave early, I had to phone the manager to know how to exit as all downstair doors were locked. In fine we had to take the fire exit, 2 sets of stairs, quite narrow. Breakfast don't start before 9h30am. Staff not necessarily informative about the procedures. These are rooms above and part of the pub. The sanitar in the bathroom quite noisy.

The room was lovely and the staff tried to help with the temperature. We were able to move to a room where the window opened but the toilet was broken. Tea and coffee facilities were good in the room.

The fan provided did not help. The scaffolding at the window blocked any breeze. I sat in the bathroom by the open window for a lot of the night. The temperature on the top floor was unbearable as was the stairwell.

I think we went on the wrong day. The pub was having a karaoke night which turned into a night club. What seemed like 100s of people shouting and making noise that even on the 2nd floor we felt like we were in the bar area. At midnight the noise got even worse when pub closed. Finally went to sleep around 1am. This has nothing to do with the staff as im sure by what they were saying at breakfast time they were as shocked by the previous night as we were. However that said we would not return in case it was the same next time

Breakfast didnt start until 9:30am which was to late as I was travelling for work.

The strange thing was the bed was super comfy and the water was hot and a good pressure.

The toilet leaked across the floor, the window was rotten and black, there was scaffold round the outside, everything inside was grubby, except the bed, the pub was not nice and the route down a fire escape when the pub was closed was hideous. 9.30 for breakfast to start is so late that is lunchtime! When i said there appeared to be urine on the floor i was met with 'ffs,' turns out I was wrong it was just the toilet leaking! Oh yes when they came up to see i was out , and my room was left open!

The amazing location and friendly staff, really nice food

Super comfy bed, well decorated, clean room. Nice to have tea and coffee in the room and shampoo etc in the bathroom. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I was worried being over a pub would be loud but I couldn’t hear anything from my room.

I went when scaffolding was up on the building, so it was a surprise to open the curtains to a workman. It’s a very old building so legally the loos have to have saniflow waste disposal units attached. These are super loud and mine leaked (clean) water a bit.

The room looked as pictured, apart from scaffolding around the outside on our visit. The staff were friendly and helpful and managed to find us an extra fan for our room and took money off our drinks to reimburse our parking.

The room was roasting hot (they can't control the weather) but our room had been shut off all day with no ventilation and we were right above the kitchen. They had to close the kitchen early due to it being too hot so we missed out on dinner and had to get a kebab as everything else was closed. The bathroom needed updating.. it looked old and grubby. Parking is a nightmare in the area but we made do in the co op carpark to get our bags in (you have to pay for that parking too) and the staff told us where to park up the road. Unfortunately due to our experience we wouldn't stay again, but maybe it's better in the cooler weather.

Booking.com and Swindon Borough Council have been trying to contact this property regarding the cancellation. they have ignored all emails, and their telephone line does not allow you to leave messages to get any contact back. I would be cautious before booking if you are concerned about communication with this hotel.

Good location. Comfortable bed

Staff totally out of their depth. Poor greeting on arrival. No knowledge of wine (which was very ordinary). No proper place to check in. Manager good (helped with bags & was professional) but with badly trained staff and no systems, was not enough.

The room was very nice and clean, friendly and helpful staff members. It was easy to find, check-in until 23:00.

There is no parking near the hotel - parking space is 300 m away, charges around 6 GBP. The boiler in the bathroom is quite loud during the night, had a poor night sleep because of that.

Hotel was in the centre, close to the shops and bus station. Room was cleaned everyday and we had tea and coffee facilities re-stocked everyday.

The hotel has scaffolding all around at the moment, so there was scaffolding right outside our bedroom window.

Posizione comoda e facile da raggiungere. Eravamo con la macchina e non molto distante c'è un comodo parcheggio (seppur a pagamento). Bella camera e letto comodo. È al piano superiore di un pub, ma lo abbiamo cmq trovato silenzioso e la mattina è possibile fare colazione perché il pub le prepara. Staff gentile.

Mi sarebbe piaciuto avere un opzione per il parcheggio legata alla struttura.

Very central - good Coop opposite and easy to get 57 bus to Padstow almost outside. The room was very comfortable, with a proper bath! Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.

Some of the decoration was a bit worn, but still fine.

They didn’t have the rooms correct. Upon showing us to our room they opened a door to find a man in bed and realised they had a mix up. We didn’t stay at the hotel as we was concerned this could happen to us and someone could let themselves into our room. Not knowing who is in what room gave us great concern around fire safety. Should there have been a fire how would they know who was where and how to get to people.

Bed was a bit small. Stairs up to rooms could do with a tidy up and a link of paint.

Our room was above the kitchen and it physically vibrated from 9:30am - 9:30pm (kitchen open to close). The vibration came with a loud noise also. This was due to the extractor fans underneath us. If you planning to be in your room within these hours I would not recommend.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was fine although the hotel was not able to offer any jams to go with toast.

Room was a little warm. There was no air conditioning, although a window could be opened. However given it's location that brought in outside noise from the street below.

The food, staff and location were all very good and welcoming. The room was very clean. The only drawback was the room being located close to the extractor system for the kitchen which made it noisy whilst the kitchen was operating.

The location was good, the decor was outdated, worn carpets, peeling paint, single glazing, just tired. Needs updating, painting and refreshing all round. Food was good, restaurant was nice. Didn’t have dessert, did not even see an option for it or offered one. Did not have breakfast,as not included and started at 9:30, too late, as I was out for the day by 8. Dropped off keys when I left, no comment made. Just felt like I wasn’t really welcome.

The room was so small, dark and dingy. Quitw claustrophobic. It looked out onto a sloping roof so all you could see was the tiles. It was so hot but windows didn't open. The extractor fan in bathroom was so dirty. It looked like it was covered in felt. Then to top that the kitchen extractor started and that went on until 9pm. Terrible noise. In the morning they must have started cooking for lunch and there was strong smell of onions. The banister on stairs was so sticky didn't like touching it and chairs in bar where we had breakfast were filthy. Just wish I had thought to take pics but just wanted to check out. Manager said we could claim our two nights back through booking.com. Still waiting,
