The location in the town center is superb, the cleaning staff is great and once you actually get one of the nice rooms it's a perfectly pleasant stay. We didn't try the breakfast, it seems pretty basic.

We were offered a completely dark room without any windows although the pictures on Booking clearly show big windows and there is no indication, that you might get offered an unlighted room. As we were leaving the property because we did not accept the basement room, "suddenly" the proper room in the top floor with windows "became available". Not a great start. [You can see the room they tried to give to us in the pictures and compare to the picture they show on Booking]. The area is fairly noisy.

The location was great, being in centro historico. Some guests might have a problem with the street noise and church bells. It didn't bother us though.

The bed was like sleeping on a tile floor with a thin piece of quilting stretched over top. The shower was hot but anemic. They didn't honor the 15% off food and drink that booking.com promised. One time we ordered food in for delivery and we wanted some napkins from the hotel and they wouldn't accommodate us. The cleaning each morning was sufficient but became less so each day. And our room was a 3rd story walk up. No elevator at this hotel.

The hotel is in a historical building and next to the basilica, its east to visit all the famous places

My suite is not soundproof, it is facing the main road and central plaza of the town, with loud music until midnight and traffic noises. It’s difficult to sleep in this room.

Clean, hot water, water pressure in shower was good, fan in the room. Small breakfast available free of cost.

No elevator, breakfast could have been better but would defiantly stay here again. I loved the clean room, hot shower, and location!

Accesso alla struttura con diversi scalini, senza porte automatiche. Per raggiungere i piani delle camere non è presente ascensore. Wi-fi presente solo nelle aree comuni e con poco segnale. Colazione non molto varia e con diverse cose a pagamento. Ho avuto un problema con il pagamento perchè mi sono stati prelevati i soldi due volte; ho potuto risolvere tramite la banca soltanto dopo due settimane che sono rientrato a casa. Non c'è stata molta collaborazione nonostante sia stato un problema creato da loro.

Location is great as it has shopping and restaurants in the area. Access to Ubers and Taxis. The staff are vert friendly and accessible. Please note the hotel does NOT have air conditioning. The bed mattresses were extremely hard, floor like hard. Also note there is a cathedral across the street and the bells sound frequently. The hotel did provide ear plugs.

The rooms were clean. The hotel offered a continental breakfast. The hotel was in the center of Guanajuato in front of a church, you could hear the church bells even with the windows closed, but we didn’t stay much in the room so it didn’t bother us. Very close to a lot of stores and restaurants. I enjoyed the big window with the small balcony.

Place is right across the basilica de Guanajuato and short walk to many restaurants, bars and stores, the front desk lady was very helpful with luggage and recommendations. The place itself was very clean, quiet and comfortable, had a simple but pleasant continental breakfast. Highly recommended.

Amazing location. Nice property. Spacious rooms. Restaurant. The only negatives are listed here: The wifi. It was horrible and did not work from the room most of the time. I could not work from here if I had to. Also the noise. It is an old building and the noise from other guests talking or going up the stairs was a lot. The free breakfast included only fruit, cereal, juice, and coffee. They did have other options (for a proper breakfast) available for a cost. That said, the staff was very nice amd helpful and the property has an amazing location.

Es un hotel muy bien ubicado. Seguro, tranquilo y silencioso. Por fortuna, me dieron en una habitación en el primer piso, porque el hotel no tiene ascensor y subir las maletas hubiera sido difícil. Pero está en el corazón de Guanajuato, que es una gran ciudad. ¡Me encantó!

I love this place so much ! It’s in a perfect location, walkable distance to all the places we wanted to see. It’s super clean and spacious. Staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was yummy ! I will for sure stay there again.

Location is perfect!! we didn't have to use transportation. The hotel is clean, very nice hotel, hot and cold breakfast was very good. A little noise from outside, but you can get free earplugs. Our 3 bed room was perfect for our family of 5 with a nice balcony. We will definitely stay there again. Very happy with Casa Virreyes. Staff very friendly.

The only bad experience I had was the fact that there is no air conditioning inside the hotel. During my stay in May. It is hot. There is a fan Inside the hotel room. However, it’s not enough ventilation, and the way that structure of the hotel is build ventilation is limited. Great location and welcoming staff!

Room assigned on ground floor was below expectation. Pretty noisy given the breakfast area and waterfall in the lobby is just outside of our room door. The bathroom was really small and dark. However hotel location is so convenient and price is cheap.

We were bowled over by a three night stay here in the heart of Guanajuato, a wonderful lively atmosphere on the streets. But our first night in this rather dated but decently run hotel was disappointing - not the room as advertised, but one without external windows, immediately alongside the breakfast courtyard. We were assured it was the same price category as we had booked, but when moved later the second day to a higher room at the front, the contrast was remarkable: still simply furnished, but so much brighter and fresher. I got the impression only four of the rooms actually have natural light. Despite the initial disappointment, we were happy with the hotel: breakfast, though simple, was generous; and the location can't be beat. We didn't find the noise of the city too disturbing, even the (rather beautiful) bells from the basilica immediately opposite.

Excellent property bang in the city center!

Our second room was vast, and light and airy. Hard bed actually quite comfortable. Friendly service with (fairly basic) breakfast buffet, in impressive inner courtyard. Surrounded by the life of this amazing city, but noise not intolerable.

Unhappy with room allocated for first night - assured it was the standard we’d booked, but not like the photos on booking.com: no window, stuffy, and very dated bathroom. I reckon that only four of the rooms resemble the attractive suites they promote, all the others appear to have no external windows.

My husband and I booked the deluxe king bed room that had a little sitting area and windows facing the Main Street, instead we were given a room with no windows to the outside. The second night we were moved to the room we booked the one with the seating area and windows. But on both rooms the bed and pillows were too hard, we could not sleep because of the ring of the church's bells from across the street. On the good side the location is great, the staff is friendly and have good breakfast.

The property does not have elevators, AC, and the beds were hard. The parking is about 10 min away from Hotel. Aside from that it is in a very central area. It is very nice.

The hotel is located in the heart of the historical district overlooking the beautiful cathedral and town square. The room was spacious and well lit as it was a room on the top floor facing the Main Street. I enjoyed the fact that there was a full bathtub which is quite rare in hotel rooms these days. I also have to mention that the staff were very nice and the complimentary continental breakfast was refreshing.

The hotels location is also a slight negative. Although this is of no fault of the hotel, be prepared for church bells at random times day and night and occasional loud music on the weekends from people partying in local restaurants and bars. Noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs are advised if you happen to be a light sleeper. Additionally, the beds are extremely firm and reminded me of bedding in SE Asia - I made do, but am not a fan of mattresses without box springs.

It was a very nice quaint hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Location, close to all museums. Continental breakfast is fine plus they have options to order from menu if you should choose too. Staff is always available and very nice to answer any questions. Hotel let me leave my luggage in there storage closet as I was out one day and would return another for the rest of the week.

I made the mistake of getting a double room for three adults. The beds are fine but I will ask for a larger room next time in order for each person to get their own bed.

All location rooms are okay. Free continental breakfast is delicious just what you need to get a start on your day a light meal. Location is close to all buildings a short walk to literally all museums and historical buildings. You can walk down to the mercado and eat or shop inside the little stalls. From there you can either catch a tour to visit the other museums the city has to offer. The hotel also offers tours to other cities such as Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende. Felt safe at this hotel, staff always willing to help out if you have any questions.

Next time I will ask for a larger room even though we are only three people, I will ask for a larger room in order to have a bed for each person. The double rooms are double beds, or if you get a single the beds are king size, but we were three adults.

They said double charged us. The place is good but I don’t think they know how to use the app. Be careful I’m trying to cancel the reservation since I paid in the hotel and they are saying I can’t cancel. So I’m getting charge twice.
