Knai Bang Chatt Resort

We loved our stay at Knai Bang Chatt, a beautifully restored group of colorful colonial houses. Everything was impeccable: the beautifully decorated rooms with sustainable paint and products, the very nice pool and spa, and the lovely restaurant area with the long wooden table we enjoyed,, safe for kids to run around in the grass around. Every meal was excellent and products were carefully chosen. Breakfast was perfect: good coffee, fresh juices, daily baked bread, many fruits, yogurts and different dishes to choose from. But most of all, we were touched by the kindness of everyone at the hotel and particularly MP who made our stay unique. We felt quite safe and at home in this wonderful hotel we highly recommended. For longer stays: many options like daily yoga, water sports and excursions to enjoy the area.

Everything! What an amazing place - we have travelled throughout Cambodia and this was our favourite. The resort is really unique, simple but the highest level of attention to detail and service. The team, Mondul, Lana and M Pai were such beautiful people! Who will leave a lasting memory in our hearts. We enjoyed the retreat with Lana and the spa treatment and the food was excellent ! Kep was lovely and we hope to return.

Beautiful resort with friendly and attentive staff.

The breakfast was fine and the location was great.

We found out that if we had booked direct with the resort rather than through Booking.com it would have been nearly $100 a night less

The room was comfort with the less is more set up and eco friendly concept. the restaurant at the beach front was stunning sun set view with fresh air from the sea. the food and service are well taking cared of.

Wonderful landscape, I like the green garden with a peaceful environment around the swimming pool. the room is classic set up with sustainable concept, there is no TV in the room so all the guest could spend more time enjoy the quietness of mind. the food was amazing by a Khmer Chef. easy access to the beach front restaurant and Crab market. love it.

I spend a wonderful night at Knai Bang Chatt, the room was very comfortable, the staff is amazing and helpful. The food at the Strand restaurant and the beach front restaurant called the Wave as absolutely good. the Watersport was the right time from October.

This is a lovely relaxing resort in the village of Kep. They have the sailing club next door which has good food at reasonable prices. Cocktail happy hour 5-7 Monday to Thursday, usd3 per cocktail! My only bad point is the hotel bed which was very hard, but that seems to be the case in quite a lot of places.

Stunning location. Overall disappointing considering the amount of money we paid to stay here for 6 nights. Our room no 7 on ground floor in need of brightening up, updating and a few repairs. Quality of service lacking too given that this is a five star resort...

After reading all of the reviews for the Knai Bang Chatt we were expecting something spectacular, especially given the cost, however we were decidedly underwhelmed. The location is fantastic, but it’s this feature that I believe the hotel owners trade on. We booked a sea view delux room, unfortunately I would not describe this accommodation as 5* luxury boutique. It is rustic, which is lovely however, what I don’t expect from ‘rustic’ is plug sockets coming out of the wall, light fittings full of dead flies, holes in the walls from the removal of fixtures, patio doors which won’t open/close, dirty and stained toilets and seats, as well as hairs left behind on the toilet brush handles (see photos). I can not fault the staff they were attentive, friendly and professional, perhaps the management just don’t adequately check the standard of the rooms they are offering. Breakfast was included and was delicious, however I had the Cambodian fried rice each morning and aside from requesting that I have a poached egg rather than fried, the rice ingredients varied every day. This brings me on to my next point, the Strand is very over priced although we had no complaints with the one dinner we ate there. We did however eat in the Sailing Club (next door and owned by the same company), this has a varied menu and is slightly cheaper, but sadly of poor quality and once again inconsistent. Nice hotel next to the beach. Relaxing atmosphere. Not many food choices but good enough. Internet was intermittent, so kimited access to the outside world, if it is needed. Overall a good break from the daily hustle and bustle.

Property is real slice of heaven on earth... the only fly in ointment which was a serious fly for us (but may not be fore you) is how intolerably bad the guest wifi situation which for 5* prices is not acceptable. I checked with hotel beforehand to be told very fast connection as had couple important video conferences to schedule... was told very fast connection then GM warned me that Cambodian internet very spotty. We stayed in suite which while fantastically spacious and eclectically decorated had pretty much 0 connection which was annoying as chose so could get lots of work done, over our 3 days tried different parts of property in search of somewhere that had stable connection. Spent whole time trying to connect between their 3 wifi networks then on last day realised that the problem was not with cambdian internet as noticed hat the hotel's office had a 'office' network for employees only. I demanded access and of course found it to be lightening fast (10+x anything ever got anywhere eles in hotel) so spent much of last day sat in the not so comfortable reception. The situation has nothing to do with cambodia... just their internal wifi setup... and theyve basically chosen to prioritise their staff over their guests which at 5* (price) hotel is quite unacceptable. Everything else was flawless from service to, food to setting... but this little detail ruined experience of what should have been amazing. THe good news is imminently fixable...

It's a beautiful property in a beautiful location, and the staff and management do so much to take care of you there.

This is a lovely hotel that is trying really hard to be responsible tourism operators. The staff were great and the many little complimentary touches during the day were lovely. The sailing club is a must for any visitor to kep. Picture perfect view too. Loved it.

Lovely stay in Kep. Beautiful room. Grounds were lovely with lots of different places to sit, each offering views across the bay. Very peaceful place to spend a few days

Vi hade en mycket trevlig och avkopplande vistelse på Knai Bang Chatt. Hotellanläggningen är mycket bra. Mycket bra rum, vi hade ett med havsutsikt. Härlig infinity pool. Ingen trängsel bland solstolarna. Hotellet saknar sandstrand men det såg vi inte som ett problem. Utanför anläggningen finns inte mycket att göra förutom olika utflykter. Vi använde även hotellets spa för massage vilken var bra. Det fanns två restauranger, en inom anläggningen och en precis utanför, båda var bra. Den utanför hade olika temakvällar bl a jazzkväll. Servicen var ibland långsam och inte i nivå med ett förstaklasshotell men det kompenserades av att alla var väldigt vänliga. Hotellets internet var i långsammaste laget.

Came here for a couple days after a busy trip in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. The hotel is a beautiful oasis and a great stop for the end of the tour. So peaceful with many beautiful spots to sit or lounge right by the sea. It was a wonderful place to rest and reflect. Staff are very friendly and the spa is amazing. I went there every day! Highly recommend it!

This is a lovely hotel tucked away by the beach in a scenic location! The hotel staff is very helpful and there is a wonderful buffet breakfast provided that is very appetising and filling! The room is spacious and the bathroom is huge! There was just a slight downside as the table in the hotel room had a few ants running about.

This is a great place to stay if you want a quiet, peaceful get away with a view of the sea at your doorstep. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is lovely and shaded for about half the day so great temperature. There are lovely lounges (not just banana lounges but real lounges) and day beds around the pool and facing the beach. The staff were attentive and nothing seemed too difficult. They changed the price of my drink the 4th I ordered it. But when I pointed this out, they fixed it immediately and gave it to me at the cheaper price. I suspect they undercharged me the first 3 times but were quite honourable in their response which impressed me. The rooms were rustic but care was taken. They provided beach bags and hats which was a nice touch. I thought the location of the restaurant was great - so close to the water. ANd there was the sailing club right next door which is lovely too. I didn't bother to go anywhere else for my weekend. The meals were good. It was a lovely peaceful weekend away.

Terrific place and nothing was too much trouble. Two good eating options either the Strand or sailing club restaurants.

The last installment of our honeymoon I booked the Knai Bang Chatt. The resort is lovely and is most certainly a haven of relaxation with the infinity pool overlooking the garden and sea. Plenty of lovely sun/shade lounging facilities dotted around the resort. We were lucky enough to have been given room 6 arguably the room with the best view. The room are very nice, tastefully kit out and very comfortable. Missing tea and coffee making facilities in our opinion though. The strand restaurant is lovely and worthy of a 5 star restaurant, the chef also very friendly and a very good cook. Breakfasts are also divine. The sailing club is less formal, has a happy hour, fantastic sunsets with the pier in the foreground also make for a very special place. Found all the food also very tasty and staff very friendly. This does very much have the feeling of an exclusive resort and a special place to stay. One thing that it lacked compared to some other hotels we stayed in for half the price was a warmness of all the staff to make you feel special, perhaps too nervous to make any mistakes or maybe this is what exclusive resorts are like, we just don't stay in many of them. All in all a very enjoyable stay though.

This is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The setting is picture perfect, the sunsets beautiful and the atmosphere serene. The pool is a great place to cool off after the heat of the day. If you are expecting a beach you will be disappointed. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you could possibly need. If they don't the staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and always on hand. The spa facilities deliver the perfect extras to supplement your relaxation at a reasonable (but higher than local average) price. To be honest there is nothing I can fault this place for.... I will be back at the earliest opportunity.
