Very friendly and well appointed

Kamer was prachtig. Ontbijt moet van tevoren worden opgegeven met een formulier. Ontbijt voldeed volledig aan de verwachtingen. Was daar mijn horloge vergeten, maar de eigenaren hebben dit netjes naar mij opgestuurd.

Fabulous location and fabulous communication! They actually CALLED the day before and asked us how we would like our triple room! No email, no Text message just a human being calling! I booked for my daughter and her friends who said it was simply perfect! Comfortable beds, super linen, super clean bathroom and lovely staff in addition to the fabulous location a stones throw from the station. Will deffo book again.

Nothing - it was better than we ever imagined!

An incredibly comforting experience from start to finish. We only stayed for less than a day but it left such an impression. The location was wonderful, with a marina and plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms were very clean and cozy and packed with amenities. The complementary breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a while, very customisable and accommodating. The best part of this whole experience was the lovely couple that maintain it. They were very caring for our needs and always made conversation with us. It felt like being invited to someone’s home for a friendly visit, with every minute detail cared for. We would highly recommend this lodge if you’re ever in need for a place to stay while in or near Devon.

The hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating. The property is immaculately clean and provides everything you need…toiletries, mini fridge with water and fresh milk for hot drinks, a range of teas, coffee and hot chocolate in the room as well as an iron and ironing board. Loved that it had a choice of pillows and the ceiling fan/light was a great addition.

Would have preferred off street parking and for it to be somewhere a bit more picturesque but then I guess you would pay premium for this.

The hosts are extremely attentive and nice. Every detail is taken care of. Lovely breakfast

We had such a lovely stay. The hosts were so kind and accommodating and our rooms were lovely, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated with lots of thoughtful touches. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and set us up for the day. Highly recommended!

Bathroom a little small but fine and a walk into Torquay which was too much coming back as we was full of food & drink! But we took the bus which drops you on the doorstep.

We were made so welcome. The hosts were really friendly and helpful and made us feel very comfortable. The rooms were lovely and clean, well equipped and really comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order, was generous and tasted fantastic.

Sehr aufmerksame und persönliche Eigentümer. Detaillierte und liebevolle Einrichtung, im Kühlschrank war sogar Milch für den Kaffee. Alles war sehr sauber und gemütlich. Das Frühstück war ausgiebig und es gab genug Kaffee.

Die Lage ist ok, 3 Parkplätze vor der Tür vorhanden.

The hosts were amazing. Made us feel really welcome as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was great, with a lot of options and decent size portions too.

From the second we entered the Hotel we were greeted like long lost families, warm friendly greeting it felt like it was are own home. Every detail was covered, the whole of the Hotel was decorated with artifacts from South Africa the previous home of the owners, Well what can be said about the Breakfast, we were all given a menu to choose the next mornings breakfast, it was totally amazing anything you have ever eating on a breakfast was on the list. A fabulos Hotel with outstanding hosts. More than highly recommended it is a MUST GO SEE.

The hosts were extremely friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was really clean and the breakfast was excellent.

Location of the room as it was at the front of the B&B and you could hear the traffic most of the night. There also needs to be blackout curtains as you could see the street lights and car lights clearly.

What a gem of a place! We received a very warm welcome by Helga and Deneys. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you could need and more. The breakfast was so tasty, with fresh local produce used. My husband is gluten intolerant and he was well catered for, which was very much appreciated. Wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thankyou. 😀

This is a charming well run B&B. Helga and Denys were warm and kind, making me feel welcome as soon as l met them. Their property is bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a delight, quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Couldn't fault my stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others. Thankyou Helga and Deneys

The hosts were more than fabulous! Very attentive, the room had everything you could think of needing, very welcoming atmostphere, the breakfast was excellent value for money! Good quality bedding and pillows, very clean, would highly reccomend, would stay again!

Spotlessly clean. Although my room was small (I had booked a single so expected it to be), it had all the essentials to make a great stay.

It’s close to the road, so inevitable traffic noise, but didn’t cause an issue for me.

So liebevoll ausgestatte Zimmer, nette Gastgeber und ein außergewöhnliches Frühstück hatte ich nicht erwartet. Ein Volltreffer in Vorwissen. Alle Wünsche wurden erfüllt, sogar Wasser und Milch waren im Kühlschrank zu finden. Weiter so, Helga und Deneys, ich komme bestimmt wieder.

Very clean, food excellent, exceptional value, loved the little extras i.e- all the things in the kit box in bathroom the mini fridge videos in the bedroom. Location was good 2mins from Torre station great if train stops there but about 15/20 mins walk from Torquay station. Liked that there was an iron and board to use if needed also a hairdryer, these touches were fabulous.

I did find the road traffic noisy as it was very busy til late at night, that cant be helped, better with window shut but then stuffy it did have a ceiling fan but i didnt try it. Also the TV was on the dvd mode so i did retune the tv to get the stations to watch tv, so this could be something to check. For me the bed wasnt that comfortable but i was there only 1 night.

The additional 'perks' of the room, such as the ceiling fan, fridge & DVD player with a great selection of films. Above all, the single room for a solo guest can often feel unloved- not in this case.! Attentive care to the details of the decor & comfort are clearly found in every aspect. Welcoming & very clean too. Simply a joy to stay in.

In a quiet road, 25 minute walk into central Torquay. Spotlessly clean. Hosts very welcoming. Lots of extras which was helpful for a one night stay. It was extremely hot, so the ceiling fan was amazing.

Lovely helpful owners, very clean. Accom dated an earlier breakfast for me and breakfast was great. Didnt have time for a cooked one but fruit salad really fresh and good portion!

Breakfast excellent as always. The rooms, though on the cosy side, were very comfortable. There was milk and water to make tea. Bathroom, though small, had everything one would need, including many things people forget to pack, such as cottonbuds.

To park in front of Arran Lodge, you do have to drive into and out of a drive on a road that could be busy at times. My only niggle.

My son and I stayed at Arran Lodge whilst visiting for a football game recently. Helga and Deneys were super friendly, and made sure we were looked after. Probably the first place I've ever stayed in where they knew our names, which is a nice touch, and they clearly have a passion for providing great service and accommodation, so would heartily recommend. Breakfast was mega and nothing too much trouble. My son said he had the best time ever. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hopefully we'll be back sometime!

I cannot actually think of anything we didn't like. Too many cushions on the bed, and that's being super nitpicky!

Sometimes trying to decide on what you want for breakfast the evening before can be tricky, but can totally understand why they do it. And sure if we had wanted to tweek anything (within reason) it wouldn't have been a problem.

Good place to stay, convenient for train or bus travel as well as some car parking spaces. Clean, tidy, excellent breakfasts and hosts that seemed keen to ensure that you have a good stay with them. I would stay here again anytime.

Excellent accommodation. Good location. Near the train station. Friendly host & hostess. Nothing too much trouble for them. Room clean and tidy and spoilt with them stocking up the fridge on a daily basis with water, milk, and providing tea/coffee facilities as well as providing clean towels. On site parking also available. Would stay here again and would recommend this accommodation.

Room was excellently appointed complete with small private patio area which I was not expecting. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was brilliant and the table settings were very nice. The owners were incredibly friendly and very keen tomake the stay enjoyable. Will definitely book again.

The only thing I can write is it got very cold in the night with the heating off. Alas we were provided with fan heater to supplement. Then again we were in the mist of winter.

All was good nothing to dislike

Comfy bed. Water and milk in the fridge. Biscuits on the side. So many little touches such as cotton buds and cotton wool in the bathroom. TV with dvds to watch. Plenty of lights in the bedroom. And a ceiling fan. Breakfast was excellent, with the owners, whose names I forget as I write, coming to quickly clear items away. Had a lovely fruit salad for breakfast and the cheese, mushroom, tomato, and onion omelette I had was excellent. Plan to book again when I am in the area next year.

My only gripe was that the room was a little small. Other than that, excellent!

Location, cleanliness and friendliness of the hosts made it a pleasure to stay. Breakfast was great.

Arran Lodge B&B is a one-of-a-kind place. Helga and Deneys' love for what they do shows in every little detail: the complimentary snacks and toiletries, which are plentiful, the spotless linen and towels, and of course the fabulous breakfast! Helga and Deneys are wonderful hosts. They're incredibly friendly and easy to chat to, and will give you fantastic recommendations if you ask. I could not recommend this place more!

The only slight downside was the sound of traffic, but it was very much compensated by how wonderful everything else was!

Nice b&b , Deney and Helga were lovely host's . Lovely rooms perfect for a few nights with all the facilities you need and great showers. Easy walking distance into Lovely Torquay. Wouldn't hesitate using again in the future.

Wonderful little place, from the moment we arrived Helga and Denys were so welcoming. Room was spotless and well appointed, water in fridge each day was a lovely touch. Breakfast, as many have said, was on a par with a 5* hotel. By far the best place we’ve stayed in Torquay. It’s a little way back, but #12 bus round corner and Torre station is a 2 minute walk, also one of the quietest places you’ll find. Would definitely return and recommend for anyone visiting Torquay 👍

We liked the decor of our room, and the balcony that we had. We had fresh milk, drinking water, tea bags etc topped up every morning, and the room was cleaned as well. Our hosts Helga and Deneys made us feel very welcome, and made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast selections were great too, and value for money. Thank you for a wonderful stay. And we will definitely be back again. Love Sarah and Nancy
