Al Safwah Orchid Hotel

The location was great. All the money was for the location itself. Staff was good too.

Hotel was old. Very unrenovated. The beds, bed sheet pillow quality was bad. Thr cleanliness was bad. They didnt have a mini bar. THE INTERNET WAS NOT WORKING IN THE ROOM. the only important and good thing was the location was ideal and exceptional for this place.

Everything was Great. House keeping staff very cooperative , active and alert.

Nothing

Excellent location neighbor to Haram

The hotel is very close to Al Haram, which is very convenient. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful, and their service was excellent. The buffet was also very good with a good variety of food.

The room was quite small. The pillows were not comfortable. The bathroom was very dirty and had a bad smell. There was hair and dirt in the bathroom. I did not notice proper cleaning or sanitising. The bed sheets were also not changed during our stay.

Not all the time receptionist staff available. However

Location

Old doors, carpet in the room was dirty , room was not ready on check in, Late or no response from receiption on call, No response from other departments of hotel like room service etc

The hotel is in an excellent location, which was the main reason we booked it.

However, we were disappointed with the service and condition of the hotel. The reception staff were completely unhelpful. We had four large suitcases and several hand-carry bags, but no staff member offered to help us. We had to take all our luggage to the room ourselves. The air conditioning was extremely noisy. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the bed was in poor condition and made a lot of noise whenever we moved. The hotel clearly needs a thorough refurbishment, as the doors were also rough, poorly repaired and difficult to use. Fridge also very old.

Good

Closest hotel to the haram, the staff are super polite and helpful and caring, they represent the culture very well

It needs to be a bit more cleaner and the bathroom is full of old smoke smell because of guests smoking at it so they get caught by sensors

The hotel staff and service are very good

Good location and staff.

The room had a very strong smoking smell. There was no sun light in the room, it feels dark during the day. The room doesn’t feel clean enough and seems to be old.

The room was very bad in term of Cleanliness , the linen was dirty and damage. The bath towel and ammonites are very poor. Wifi internet very very bad .

The staff of front office and securities need to reeducate how they should treat the guests. Also, room service chef should know how he should make a mix grill (they burned the food) . The carpet in 18 floors very dirty.

The hotel is infront from Haram and the location is very good

The AC wasn't working right, and when we called the staff, no one showed up, plus the bed was super uncomfortable.

فرش الغرف قديم جداً ويحتاج تغيير

The location is exceptional, and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Could have more options in breakfast,

The location is what you pay for, first and foremost. The haram vicinity is self-explanatory, of course, but the hotel also literally sits on top of a shopping mall and food court (for cheap outlets) and brand outlets are literally next door in the clock tower if you're inclined that way. The best part for me is that unlike the tourist trap of a hotel next door (where I have lived), the hotel is appropriately sized for the number of elevators available. My longest elevator wait time was ~2 minutes, which was an exception. It's usually there in <30 seconds. The hotel masjid is very well-sized. All in all, just a worry-free experience allowing you to devote your complete attention to the real purpose of what you're there for.

The Orchid wi-fi was slow unfortunately even though I was getting all bars in my 1st floor room. Secondly, when I booked via Booking.com, even though I entered my credit card info, someone from the hotel reached out to tell me I needed to transfer money directly to their bank account. I took a leap of faith and did so and it worked out and I wasn't double-charged, but it was definitely shady and/or annoying. Apparently, the issue was temporary because my brother in law booked a room a few days later and was able to do it completely online. Finally, the breakfast options could use more fresh fruit options, but that's the most minor feedback.

Location of the hotel was excellent. Only a few step to al-haram. Rooms were excellent.

Breakfast was good. But ended at 10am. Would like breakfast timing to end at 11am.
