We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Amangi Aria Hotel in Negombo! From the moment we arrived, the reception and customer support were nothing short of excellent. To our pleasant surprise, the front desk upgraded our room without any extra charges, which immediately set the tone for a fantastic trip. The dining experience was phenomenal. Every meal we ordered was incredibly tasty, and the cocktails were excellent. The morning breakfast buffet is absolutely awesome, offering a huge variety of delicious options to start the day right. What truly sets this hotel apart is how genuinely accommodating they are. They went above and beyond by providing extra meals for our children completely free of charge. I also want to give a massive, special shoutout to a staff member named Sameera in the restaurant. He is such a supportive and respectful guy who treated us and our kids exceptionally well. This man is a true gem to your hotel and made our dining experience so memorable. I cannot recommend Amangi Aria Hotel enough. If you are looking for outstanding service, great food, and a staff that truly cares, this is the place to be!

He handled everything smoothly while making every guest feel comfortable. His friendly attitude truly made a difference. Highly recommend his service for a great experience!

When we booked to their website it was so cheaper according to its availability. It was near the Grandeeza hotel Negombo, and very calm and beautiful location near the lagoon. As we entered until our returned back to Colombo, the staffs were so ready to receive you even before you got down from the vehicle. First floor doesn't have an elevator. I've seen many elderly foreigners relaxed near the pool while read some books. Authentic Srilankan and western, Chinese and Indian menus are available at the breakfast buffet, lunch. I didn't have dinner there.

This hotel sits above 15 minutes from Colombo airport. Therefore quite handy for an overnight stay only. They classified this resort as a 4/5☆ although I would consider a 3☆. My room was quite disappointing and dark. I booked a standard room with a pool view however I have been given a lagoon view which didn't make any difference but my room was just above the kitchen and an outdoor grill ! Obviously not pleasant to be in the balcony. The room was dated, bathroom was extremely dated and tiny. The mattress was not too bad though . The cleaning standards of the room was not as it should. Swmming poll is very small Despite my negative view the staff was pleasant.

Our stay was truly delightful. The staff welcomed us with such kindness that we immediately felt at home. The swimming pool was sparkling clean, making every swim refreshing and enjoyable. From our balcony, we were greeted each day with an incredible view that filled us with peace and joy. It’s the kind of place that leaves lasting memories, and we are deeply grateful for the care and comfort we experienced here.

You do not want to RUIN your time in Sri Lanka by staying at this hotel! The restaurant experience is one that shows how petty the standards of hotel staff are. Me and my partner waited for 40 min for our two mains to arrive after the starter and drinks, and joined another guest in complaining to the restaurant manager about the delay. We were made to witness a quarrel among staff and then me and my partner were given one of the mains (pasta) in one bowl, cold. Not wanting my partner to watch in hunger, we ate out of the one bowl and we were not even given a plate to share it. When I asked the waiter to hurry up with our other main (grilled prawns) he said we did not order a second main dish!!!! We complained to the restaurant manager again who told us to get food from the buffet but to restrict us to one plate! It was late at night, we had a flight next morning, we did not know the area to go anywhere else, so we had no other option but to succumb to the restaurant manager's one plate rule from the buffet. We had to forgo dessert too to comply with the one plate rule, or order it to be told 1 hour later we did not order it! The waiter and the restaurant manager later had the nerve to say to us "all good right?". The manager may think guests are as petty as him to consider a bite from his buffet a privilege, but we did not expect such pettiness when we decided to book this hotel for a relaxing lagoon-side dinner experience, for a dish of what Negombo is famous for - prawns. We booked a double room 20 days in advance of check-in but got a twin room overlooking the road on the 1st floor, full of mosquitos. We booked through booking.com but it is not giving us a review link - something to do with a partner site. No wonder! The resident manager apologized to us later on, but we have never experienced this kind of pettiness in Sri Lanka or anywhere else. You do not want to ruin your experience of Sri Lanka by staying in this hotel when there are many other hotels around the airport.

We had a really nice stay at Amagi during January. The hospitality of the staff is excellent here (Sumedha & Thuwan in the restaurant provided a great service). The breakfast buffet has a wide range of choices and their À la carte food is very nice as well. I personally found the hotel has a very peaceful vibe compared to the beach side. Highly recommend.

lovely & warm staff good layout of breakfast with local food for overseas visitors to try arrived at 1am couldn't see the surrounding but woke up in the morning to an unblocked logoon view. Swimming pool not huge but cosy place to spend the day in. Can imagine it's a good place for wedding

My wife and I stayed here for one night, in room 3601, before an early flight departure for the airport. The hotel provided transport, which was excellent and on time. Unfortunately, due to our early departure we missed breakfast which started at 0730. The hotel did offer to make us on the go breakfast. Check in was quick, friendly and efficient and, although we were early, we had immediate access to our room. The room was huge and spacious. There was a large siting area with sofa and chairs. There was a kettle with tea/coffee and bottled water. A sink was close by. The bed was up 2 steps in another large area. For those who like to watch tv in bed, this was not possible. There was a long, walk in room which could perhaps be described as a dressing room, but its purpose was a bit obscure as there was a desk and stool as if it was for ladies to apply make-up. The room had access to a long balcony with a spa bath (yes, on the balcony!) and a table and chairs. Some of the wooden planks on the balcony had split or were loose. The view was over the sea. The bathroom had a shower with 3 heads. One head looked as if it ought to go higher than its setting which was at chest level, but we could not raise it. There were toiletries in containers. We had buffet dinner which started at 1930. The choice of food was wide to suit all tastes and the food was warm and tasty. We especially enjoyed the fish fillets and au gratin vegetables. Tea/coffee was a bit disappointing as the coffee was packets of Nescafe and hot water was in an urn – serve yourself. I had a Lion beer which at 1,200 rupees was much cheaper than at my previous hotel. We were the only Western diners. All the staff we met were friendly, polite and most welcoming. Excellent. One downside was that from the hotel there seemed to be nowhere to walk though if we had stayed longer, we would have clarified this aspect. There was a pier with pedal boats and a swimming pool. Extremely highly recommended and ideal for the airport. Sleep quality was excellent.

Regrettably due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to review the hotel immediately, after we returned from our visit to this hotel and we wish to extend our sincere apologies for the delay, to all the wonderful people we met during our stay in this hotel! It was on a spur of the moment, we decided to spend 01 night out, on 25th December and made a last-minute booking at Amagi Aria Negombo. Firstly, thanks Mr Priadharshan the Front Office Manager and his team, for making us comfortable the moment we stepped in to the hotel and doing a smooth job with no hick cups, with our check in and out, during our visit. On a very special note, we wish to extend our sincere thanks to Mr Lalith the hotel F&B Manager, who went an extra mile and out of his way to make us feel very comfortable during our stay. A very big thank you, to the Executive Chef Jude Fernando and his great kitchen team, for the fabulous food that was offered during our stay. Since we booked full board, we were offered all 3 meals as buffet in the restaurant and all meals had was very sumptuous and a great verity of food spread! Also, special thanks to the bell boy Mr Sangaraths who did a great job as well with our luggage’s when we checked in and out and the housekeeping team, for providing us a very professional, courteous service and always very attentive towards our needs too. Last and not the least a big thanks goes out to Mr Deegan, from the Bar & Restaurant, who took care of all our meals. He was always happy to serve us, whenever we visited the restaurant and was very attentive to all our needs. The Delux Premium Room we stayed was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a balcony with a super view of the lagoon, which my wife and I enjoyed with a cup of coffee in the morning. We would like to recommend this hotel to anyone, who wish to enjoy good food, relax and chill out away from the hustle and bustle from city life!  We would definitely go back again soon! Peter

My husband and I came to Sri Lanka for our honeymoon. We stayed at Amagi Aria for a night after flying in late. One night was not enough. The views are beautiful and the employees are so kind and helpful. Chalin picked us up from the airport and took us to our next destination. He was kind and a wonderful driver. We will definitely be back!

Great hotel! Clean spacious rooms. The ocean front view rooms are breathtaking. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is big full buffet, anything and everything you want with deliciousness. Really fantastic breakfast! If you’re lucky and is there on a weekend usually an event is happening in the hotel such as wedding, BD, engagement etc. with DJ playing music. If you like to walk it’s fun to walk out hotel and explore the neighborhood. Lots of shops, restaurants, supermarket etc around hotel that you experience the local life. Hotel also has airport pick up with reasonable price if you wish to book ahead of time. Enjoyed our stay here very much!

Pleasant hotel, we stayed for one evening after our flight. Someone was here to check us in at 12:30am. Only 15 mins from the airport.

This is a perfect hotel for the airport as it's only 15 minutes away. The rooms are spacious and clean with a good size balcony. The food is delicious. The pool is clean and fresh. The staff are welcoming and were so helpful when my husband lost his mobile phone: they really went above and beyond. HUGE thanks.

Very secluded and located in an inner road type of thing. However the hotel itself is nice and clean. The rooms are huge as well as the bathroom. Decent breakfast buffet. From the room you have a nice view of the lagoon and is equipped with a balcony. Overall the nice place to stay around negombo area. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

We were here for a dayout. The location was extremely beautiful and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The international lunch buffet was very delicious and had many varieties. We met Sashipraba, who was the animator at the hotel was very friendly and helped us to engange in several activities like Jenga & Darts. Overall the place was good and we recommend this place for a day out. Worth the price too.

We visited the High tea on 1st November 2025. There were lots of variation at the buffet and the desert were made according to the Halloween theam... Highly recommend..specily to have family gathering ..

I'd give this a 3.5 It's in a great location, the staff and food are superb. The length of time from ordering food to its arrival is a bit slow. (It's a good thing; freshly cooked) Where this lets it down is in the detail; Mouldy parts in the bathroom along the tiles and glass wall, along with wonky shelves and a hairdryer unit that falls apart as soon as you touch it. Outside balcony cushions need new covers and the balcony itself has climbing allurements. The pool has broken tiles, no depth markings. All in all a fairly comfortable, including the beds. The balcony view onto the lagoon is simply breathtaking and worth paying extra for.
