Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

We really liked our room at the hotel. It was on the 11th floor and had a beautiful view of Universal Orlando. The room was also quite clean, and we were satisfied with the overall cleanliness. We especially liked the hotel’s location, the convenient transportation to the parks, and the Early Park Admission, which allowed us to enter the park one hour before the regular opening time.

We didn’t like that there was no liquid shower gel provided, only a bar of soap. We also didn’t like that the room only had coffee available. Since we don’t drink coffee, it would have been nice to have some tea as an option as well.

My stay here is always amazing I’ve been 3 times and been highly satisfied every time very friendly very respectful very good hotel and staff Raphael and Bobby amazing and the stay made my son a birthday tower with towels absolutely beautiful highly recommended

Read and respond to your customer service emails, instead of attempting to look like you have integrity - only replying apologetically because a public negative review is now online.

We love this hotel! Clean pool, bowlinghall and gameroom the got everything! The room is also clean and the hotel is very close to the university studios. 10 out of 10!!

My money was stolen, you don't want to give me back, accidentally a reservation was made then I made a request and no one or nooqui answered Booking, he wants to grab my money or the hotel but nobody gives me reasons I went in person to claim that cancellation and no one helped me tell me it's with a third person but they don't give me reasons

We picked Cabana Bay Beach Resort because (1) we were looking for a hotel with 3 beds, (2) it was way way way cheaper than Hard Rock Resort, which is where we stayed last time, (3) the lazy river looked fun. The resort delivered on all 3 of those reasons, but it failed us in so many other ways. 1. The kitchen table is a small peninsula with 2 chairs. There was no way for our family of 4 to eat there. 2. The kitchen was NOT stocked. There were disposable plates and bowls but no silverware, no soap, no paper towels. 3. There were little ants that came out whenever given a reason. I found them on the bedside table, in drawers, and in the kitchen. 4. Speaking of drawers, there are not enough for 4 people to unpack. The beds are on platforms, so there is no good place to put empty suitcases anyway. 5. The pool restaurants are not good. 6. But, the Bayliner Diner is truly awful. The food is expensive and bad. Plus, there are different lines for different food, making it a really annoying experience for a family with kids. For example, at breakfast, if one child wanted eggs and the other wants French toast, you have to wait in 2 different lines to get these 2 different kids meals. 7. The bar in the lobby is rarely open. I wanted a cocktail when we got back to the hotel for our afternoon park break. Not an option. 8. The lobby and outside areas are not tidied up as often as they should be. Glasses from the night before were still around at 9am the next day. 9. The room charging “privileges” require a pre-approved credit card hold, completed at the front desk, even if you have a credit card on file. They didn’t tell us this at check-in, and I discovered it after ordering drinks at Starbucks, holding only my room key to pay. 10. The resort looks worn. Not bad. But in a way that just makes it feel not cared for. Were there some things we liked about Cabana Bay Beach Resort? Yes. The lazy river was nice. The proximity to Volcano Bay was nice. The bus service to the parks was reliable. Would I stay there again? No.

Ok so firstly read the reviews and do not leave the card details. We have been home one week and are still getting charged huge amounts to our card. We have been charged 700, 800 and then some smaller charges such as 20 and 80 dollars also. We have emailed the hotel as we are from the UK and are in communication but other people have reported this too. What is going on? Be very careful!! Additionally the rooms are awful. Mouldy carpets, scuffed head boards, poor lighting, dated bathrooms and a lingering smell of must. I would 100% avoid this hotel. Someone is fraudulently using the cards of paying customers and this is still continuing despite others complaining.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful family stay! We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort! It was everything we needed for a fun and comfortable family getaway and more. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, helpful, and very informative. Everyone we encountered made us feel welcomed and was willing to answer questions or help us navigate the resort. Our room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated how much there was for families to enjoy without even having to leave the resort. The pools, activities, dining options, and overall atmosphere made the entire stay feel like part of our Universal experience rather than simply staying at a hotel. We also really enjoyed the food and breakfast options. Traveling with a toddler can sometimes be a lot, but having so many convenient amenities and family-friendly options made our stay much easier and enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and made some beautiful family memories here. We would absolutely stay at Cabana Bay again and recommend it to other families visiting the Universal Orlando area. ❤️🌴 Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so enjoyable!

Perfect location, right next to Volcano Bay. Loved the lazy river. Great Energy and music. (It was a vibe). Meals were reasonably priced.

What a nice Hotel, been to a few hotels over the years in Orlando, this one ticked all the boxes. Food was good, plenty to chose from, something for everyone.Rooms clean and bright.Had a starbucks, so was able to get my morning HotTea, also realised you could get tea from main tills aswell. Pools were good, lifeguards were on standby ready to pounce, Some maybe a bit over zealous, but hey best to be safe. Parking never a problem, although i thought was a little expensive as a staying customer.Had a $300 dollar credit included which was a nice touch. Something which i did note, staff were very friendly, no sign of expected Tipping which was a breath of fresh air.( I did tip by the way :-). I will definitely be going back.

The lobby area was nice and had a cute vintage vibe, but the rooms definitely need some TLC. The headboards were scratched up and looked like they were being hidden behind the pillows, which was disappointing. There was also a roach on my door, and the carpet had a noticeable mildew smell. The rooms really need to be renovated to match the vintage inspiration and appearance of the lobby. The biggest issue for me was the random charges. I kept getting charged $506, $168 twice, and $30, even though my entire vacation package was already paid in full. I was using cash at the Universal locations, so I knew these weren’t purchases I made. I asked multiple times what the charges were for, and nobody could give me a straight answer. Meanwhile, my card kept getting charged, which was extremely frustrating. The hotel food was honestly a 4/10. I also don’t understand why the same items cost different prices depending on the time of day. The prices were significantly higher at night than in the afternoon. Overall, the resort has potential, and the lobby gives a great first impression, but the condition of the rooms, food, and especially the unexplained billing issues need serious attention.

We loved the convenience of the hotel to the parks and the easy access to the parks using the free buses. Two nights we were disturbed at 2:30 am when the phone rang in the room. Was disappointed that I was asked to supple a debit or credit card just for the parking deposit only to find out that in actual fact you held $430 from my checking account. This was not explained at checking

Ya me había hospedado anteriormente y por lo que recuerdo el parking era gratuito. Ahora es pago 17$ por día, me da la impresión de que están empleando las mismas técnicas “señuelo” de las aerolíneas de colocar el precio económico y cobrar el resto como extras lo que hace que pagues lo mismo que en otras estancias. Esas sorpresas causan molestia y hacen que la próxima vez consideres otra opción!

A great holiday in Florida staying our first week at Universal Cabana Bay Resort. My first impression upon arrival was utter chaos for checking into the hotel. Very long queues which after an 8 hr flight and a coach journey from Melbourne Airport Florida was off putting to say the least. No acknowledgment from anyone at reception you just had to wait your turn. It was not great at all. Finally after an hours wait we got our rooms. The rooms were meant to be interconnected but they had overbooked and overlooked the request. They apologised and upgraded us to family rooms. I have since leaving given the Cabana Bay Resort my feedback and made suggestions for improvement which they emailed a response to state it would be discussed at their meeting. We were there for 2 weeks but used it as our base the 2nd week as we did a road trip to The Florida Keys & The gulf coast prior to returning. After an iffy start which we didn’t let dampen our spirits we enjoyed all that Cabana Bay offered. We were upgraded to two family rooms next to each other. Opposite the swimming pool and near to all the facilities within the complex. Easy choices of food at The Bayliner Restaurant and good prices we ate there a couple of times and purchased yogurts & drinks, water. Universal buses were very frequent at the hotel to take you to Universal Walk. Plus if you cross the road to Loewes Sapphire Falls you can catch the boats. This option is not as far a walk if you have mobility issues. I rented a mobility scooter it was 75 US dollars per day. So easy to use. I wished I had done it many years earlier. I only used it once as we went more late afternoon/ evenings when it was cooler and the park not as packed. The Cababa Bay is a decent base for families the family rooms have 2 queen beds & quite comfortable. Plenty of cupboard & wardrobe space. A safe. Separate toilet & a vanity room/ with sink and a separate shower/ bath making it easy for a family to get ready. Also a separate living area with a sofa bed. TV in that room and the bedroom. Card access to the rooms & parking behind the room was great when we hired a car from Avis. We hired the car online in the Uk before travelling and got a really good price for a Medium size SUV for 4 of us. Arranged a Sunpass for the tolls too with Avis and a sat nav. ( however the sat nav wasn’t brilliant). We managed with our phones. It’s not a fancy hotel it’s better than basic has all that is needed for a base. However, we did go to the Loewes Royal Pacific for 1 night but 2 days. I booked it through booking.com and we got an evening and the next day of universal fast passes which were fab especially if you have an arthritic knee like me and hate queues. It was a bonus we went on the boat. Nearer to the opening of islands of adventure & the studios. The hotel was in another league to Cabana Bay. Utterly gorgeous. The food was amazing a higher level all together. Huge portions. The room & the bed were really comfortable. We ordered room service for 4 of us after a busy night in the parks and it arrived within 30 mins and very hot. I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat. The pool was lovely and the view out of my room was really lovely over the parks too. We ate out in universal City walk for our evening meals. NBC bar & grill, Toothsome chocolate Emporium & Margaritaville. Once we had the car we then ventured to Longhorns & The Outback Steakhouse. Back to basic hotels for 1 night and then onto The Florida keys & The Gulf coast. Weather was incredibly hot & humid a few showers. We enjoyed the wonderful weather in the Florida Keys whilst Orlando had done dreadful weather. Our holiday was amazing all four of us loved every part of it. Universal are very good hotels & the parks are Great but prices are getting higher each year sadly. We all love Florida but I think Tge Florida Jeys and the Gulf coast are worth exploring more.

A once wonderful resort hotel that's in serious decline. I've visited Cabana Bay several times over the past decade and there was a time I would recommend this resort to everyone, but unfortunately now I cannot recommend to anyone. The wonderful little perks are still there such as the lazy river, one of the most spacious gyms of any resort, a bowling alley, access to a long but present dedicated walking path to City Walk, a great dedicated Milkshake and ice cream area, but everything else has clearly gone down in quality. 1. I went with my family and requested our rooms to be nearby, especially because my father needs serious medical attention and requires a wheelchair to get from location to location, but they separated us on 2 completely opposite ends within the same lazy river side of the hotel. Even we are technically on the same side of the hotel, the resort is so big that getting to his room takes at least a 5 to 7 minute walk. I was told that their room could be transferred but they'd be downgraded from a Family Suite to a standard room but the whole point of getting the Family Suite was so there was room for my father's wheelchair and my mother's scooter who also has medical needs. I decided to give the staffing the benefit of the doubt even though I booked and made my requests over a year ago and if this was the only problem I'd have let this go as an overpopulation problem in my head. 2. Speaking of which, this hotel is now absolutely packed with tons of people coming in and out on any given day. I wouldn't typically wouldn't give "popularity" a negative score if it wasn't for the fact that you can physically see families waiting and "camping" out for their rooms to be ready many hours after check-in time. Cabana Bay clearly books to full capacity and leaves zero room for problems that arrive from departing guests or lack of staffing to change those rooms. 3. Despite having a very kind staff, they're clearly stretched thin and pushed to their limits. Instead of increasing staff for the full capacity bookings, Cabana Bay has decided to limit the staff's cleaning duties. If you're spending a long week at Cabana Bay, don't expect your room to be vacuumed or your sheets changed. Staff will come in every other day and change your toweling, empty garbage, and make your bed but they won't do things like scrub, change your sheets, vacuum, clean the toilet, etc etc. So you really CANNOT do anything fun in your bed such as eat, drink or anything because any crumb or stain will be with you your entire week. 4. Transportation to the parks and City Walk has changed for the worse. Cabana Bay, one of the biggest resorts in Orlando used to have a smooth, dedicated bussing system that typically only had you waiting no longer than 15 minutes for a ride and that was was considered a long, rare occasion. On my recent trip, there have been serious issues with wait times and the new stop to a different hotel now included in the Cabana Bay bus route. I can imagine Aventura (the hotel now included in the Cabana Bay bus route) gets it much worse since Cabana Bay buses are beyond full capacity with people typically standing over seated individuals and spilling onto the driver him/herself and then stopping to Aventura guests. But Cabana Bay itself, there have been at least 70% of the time where I've waited 30 minutes or more for a bus during non-peak hours such as park opening/closing. The lines are typically astronomically long and everytime I am shocked as to how many passengers they squeeze into the bus as opposed to simply using the same amount of buses and drivers from previous years. And btw, some drivers choose not to pick you up if there isn't a dedicated bus line attendant waiting at the front of the line to wave down the driver. Yep, if there isn't a bus line attendant present to wave down the driver to pickup passengers then that bus many times will drive by you as a HUGE crowd of hotel guests waiting in line scream and yell at the top of their lungs toward the bus after waiting so long. 5. The overall upkeep of the hotel is seriously lacking, even from my last visit a couple years ago. The room hallway walls are scratched or marked from the tiny space staff has to move their oversized carts. There's different odors nearly everyday on the first floor that I have a hard time pinpointing but have a fun time trying to guess with my family when walking through those halls. There's several doors on the first floor between buildings buildings that do not open automatically even though they're designed to with the wave of a hand. Which wouldn't be a problem if those same doors were not so heavy for a regular walking human but for my father in a wheelchair, it's impossible unless someone opens and holds the door for him. There's lights in the room that should function with a switch that don't. And I can go on and on with the issues surrounding Cabana Bay, and I'm truly saddened to say this since I've loved this resort for so long... Stay away at all costs. All of the amenities I listed at the beginning in no way out weigh all of the other problems you're going to experience when staying there.

OVERALL, Great time ! Resort was laid out really nicely, the entire staff were awesome, from the Front Desk, to the dining area/ kitchen and room attendants. not a lot of frilly, over the top display, furniture or "high end" stuff. buses to parks were AWESOME ! Pools were a really nice evening amenity after a long day at the park. rinsed off and hit the pools. rooms were in BETTER shape and cleaner than some big named hotels. food was decently priced and PLENTY of it. not once did I have a concern. the resort was a "throwback" resort to the 50's and 60's. it was awesome. ! We will be back !

Horrible el olor a marihuana en el pasillo de mi habitación .nos quejamos y no me cambiaban de habitación hasta el otro día y la peste sigui éramos familia con nińos .tambien loqueron mi habitación por tener una tostadora dentro y no nos dicen nada fui dos veces al loby a buscar tarjetas nuevas porque no habrían la puerta y nadie nos dijo k era pk teníamos que sacar la tostadora de la habitación .no me hicieron la habitación el 3 día no botaron la basura no me cambiaron las tohallas .en fin un desastre .jamas nos había pasado algo ni parecido en ningún hotel

The pool and the lazy river were nice and I liked the theme of the hotel. Food in the restaurant was good. My child loved the pool and lazy river. Workers were nice in the cafeteria.

I was very disappointed that when arriving I paid extra for a partial pool view room and they asked me if I wanted to upgrade and i said no I’m fine with the room I paid for. The worker said since it’s your first time here we will upgrade your room for free. I said ok that’s very nice I guess reluctantly. When I got to the room the room was facing the parking lot. No pool view whatsoever. It was a family style room with a couch which we didn’t need. Then when turning the tv on it was all pixelated in the living room. There was a puddle of water on the floor. We had asked about being in a certain building close to our party when checking in and they had told us everything was booked up and we didn’t have that option so we were way far away from our party that booked other rooms. Also there were no towels available at the pool the night we arrived and the next day. There were 4 bins for clean towels to use while at the pool and all were empty. Never were refilled. Plus the night we came I had brought a pool float from outside set it on a chair stepped away from the chair for a few minutes came back and someone had stolen my float. I asked a lifeguard nearby and they said they will keep a lookout. The lifeguard ends up spotting the three teenagers who took it and had them give it back.

We got the $300 food and beverage credit but we’re not aware they charge/hold this amount your card upfront and then return it to you upon check out. We were not expecting this additional hold or cost so beware for anyone that may have tight budgets

O Ônibus de acesso aos parques facilitam muito, além de já ser um ótimo passeio pela cidade, e a estrutura do hotel também é excelente.

המלון משתייך למלונות יוניברסל ונכון ליולי 2026, מקנה כניסה מוקדמת לפארק יוניברסל איילנדס (רק איזור הארי פוטר ורכבת הרים אחת פועלות מוקדם) וולקנו. צריך לשים לב שכול האורחים של כל המלונות רצים בבוקר למתקן חויית האופנועים של האגריד ואם לא ממהרים מחכים שעה וחצי גם בכניסה המוקדמת). המלון עצמו ענק ומחולק לכמה מבנים גדולים. בצד אחד של המלון יש חול ים שמדמה חוף, בריכה עם מים מחוממים, נהר עצל וגקוזי. בצד השני של המלון יש בריכה, בריכת ילדים ומגלשת מים בודדת. במלון יש חנות מזכרות של מרוול, ומרכז אוכל ("דיינר") שכולל כמה סוגי מזנונים (איטלקי, אסיאתי, בשרי וכו'), בנוסף לרכישה של אוכל מוכן. בבוקר יש התאמות ואפשר למצוא חביתות, סלט וארוחת בוקר אמריקאית. ליד כל בריכה יש גם מזנון עם מזון מהיר (המבורגרים פיצות וכו') יש במלון חדרי כביסה (תשאלו), כל הפעלה עולה בערך 4 דולר למכונה ענקית, גם הייבוש עולה 4 דולר. יש גם סניף של סטארבקס (למי שחייב, סה"כ קפה די בינוני ויקר) ומחוץ ללובי יש הסעה כל 10-15 דקות לטיילת של יוניברסל שממנה מגיעים לכל הפארקים (לאפיק יש הסעה נפרדת). בימים החמים התחלנו מוקדם בפארק, חזרנו בצוהריים למלון לאכול, לנוח ולבריכה ואז חזרנו לפארקים עד הסגירה.

בנהר העצל - אפשר לספק אבובים ולא להסתמך על זה שהאורחים ירכשו מכיסם...

Un poco cara el precio de la comida

Everything, I have been to Orlando 4 times and this was the first time I stayed at Cabana bay. I will always stay here on future trips it’s amazing

Nothing, I could not fault it

En primer lugar, expreso nuestra profunda indignación por el grave e irresponsable manejo de los cobros en mi tarjeta. Al inicio de la estadía, el hotel realizó un cobro total por la totalidad de las noches reservadas. Sin embargo, a lo largo de los días posteriores, continuaron realizando cargos diarios en mi cuenta bajo el argumento de que las transacciones anteriores se encontraban "en proceso" con la institución bancaria. Esta sobrecarga desproporcionada de cargos provocó el bloqueo automático de mi cuenta corriente, dejándonos completamente privados de nuestros recursos financieros durante el viaje. Esta situación arruinó considerablemente nuestros planes familiares, ya que nos impidió disponer de nuestro propio dinero para comprar las entradas a los parques temáticos y realizar las actividades turísticas que teníamos programadas fuera de las instalaciones del hotel. En segundo lugar, el estado de la habitación asignada desde el primer día distó mucho de los estándares de calidad esperados: * *Mantenimiento deficiente:* Los cabezales/topes de las camas se encontraban visiblemente dañados. * *Fallas en servicios:* La señal de televisión era sumamente inestable, lo que impidió un uso regular del entretenimiento en el cuarto. * *Higiene e imagen:* El piso del baño presentaba manchas antiguas, lo cual generó una profunda incomodidad y desprecio por la limpieza del espacio. Como sugerencia constructiva, les insto a revisar de inmediato sus protocolos de atención al cliente y sus procesos de facturación y retención bancaria. La experiencia vivida fue sumamente frustrante y atentó directamente contra el descanso y disfrute que buscábamos. Debido a estos inconvenientes, la imagen de su hotel y de su cadena ha quedado severamente comprometida para nosotros, impidiéndonos recomendar sus instalaciones a otros viajeros.

The pool was outrageously awesome at the hotel and the Volcano bay. The view from out room was amazing and being able to over look the water park was something better than I could have thought. Highly recommend the stay here.

The only thing I did not like was the walk to the hotel but that is only cause it was so hot. From the parking garage to the car was quite the hike but I also think I could have parked in better spot. Overall, loved the trip.

La zona de piscina. Las tiendas dentro del hotel. La ubicación es muy buena.

Las habitaciones si bien no están en mal estado podrían tener un poco más de mantenimiento.

Crowded no seats available in pool area tubes cost money to rent then you do keep them but wasn’t ever explained online all the fun activities cost a lot of money food is very expensive

Wonderful - giant hotel - it’s like a city where every thing is onsite - pools and water park and lazy river - restaurants- supermarkets - gym - arcade - the best is the free shuttle to universal studios

It’s always has a great feeling of relaxation! The place always looks amazing.
