Over priced; dated tired room. Very noisy, awful sleep:
Breakfast is delicious and the staff are super friendly and welcoming!
Rooms were quite dingy and loud music continued until well after 11PM.
Great location, Kenmare is charming, lots of food and drink options...room super clean, but we found the bed to be too hard and no amenities such as shampoo, lotion, tissues or conditioner..those would be welcome additions.
reception was very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and modern. Good shower. Breakfast was so so. Fair rate.
The room door could use some noise insulation.
Great location in the middle of town. Good restaurant and music below the rooms. Ask staff for the wifi password when checking in (it's not printed anywhere).
Great place, centrally located in the town. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Beautiful place!
Fun stay over the historic pub; food and music were good, 3rd floor was far enough removed that noise wasn’t an issue.
Foleys Hotel was a busy pub and restaurant, with accommodation on first and second floors. A few flights of stairs to both floors. Popular place for dinner and live music. Food was good and breakfast also good. Music can be heard from your room until late, so keep windows closed. Street parking easy. Nice staff.
Clean rooms, quiet and staff very friendly
The hotel is in the heart of the action of Kenmare. Our room was on the third floor so we definitely got our exercise going up and down the stairs. The stairs are steep so if you have mobility issues make sure you get a room on the second floor (but you will still need to do about 20 steps). We needed to keep the windows open due the warm temperatures, there is lots of road and bar noise but it normally didn’t bother us. If the windows would have been closed we would have heard less. Staff was very polite and friendly. Breakfast was good!
Loved it, very charming, perfect!
Great little hotel in the middle of everything, great service, delicious food, wonderful staff
Great place with a fun location and great breakfast!
Good breakfast. Rooms were nice. Expedia says they have laundry facilities but they don’t. They’re mystified as to why Expedia says they do have laundry facilities.
Location in amongst it all!!
Great breakfast! No parking on site but able to park on street.
Important to know the rooms are above a bar and restaurant which was not in the description at time of booking. Nightlife went on with live music every night - does not quiet down till 2:30 pm. If your looking guy a quiet relaxing room this is not the place to stay. If you’re looking to be part of the nightlife till early am then this is the place for you. Street parking. Room was clean and comfortable. Gave a 2 due to the noise we were not anticipating.
No onsite parking. Comfortable beds, room small but adequate for our needs. Limited hot water
Camera bella e silenziosa, delusi dalla moquette, il ristorante buono ma un po' caro, ma come in tutta l'Irlanda! Consigliato
Very nice
Our 3 night stay allowed us to explore the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Berra then over to Baltimore. The staff and accommodations were updated and clean. There are stairs to climb but good as the breakfast and pub fare was tasty. Cappuccino was niice to have at no extra cost. The pubs and dinning choices were plentiful. Beef Wellington and Brisket at Mulcahys was fantastic. Kenmare and Foleys was a lovely stay.
Friendly staff and easy check in. Rooms were clean.
staff was excellent, always kind and willing to help.
I am a regular visitor to Kenmare and Foley’s. The welcome, staff hospitality, friendliness and care has not diminished in the 20 odd years my wife and I have stayed with Patrick, his family and the team. Looking forward to the next visit.
Great place.
Staff very helpful and friendly
Really great place to stay in Kenmare! Our room was lovely and had everything we could need. The staff were really great and we enjoyed the drinks and live music at the bar very much. We got a bit unlucky with our neighbours one of the nights who were loud late into the night.
While we had a minor issue upon check-in, it was remedied quickly. The host was very friendly and helpful. While I looked forward to the room over the inn, The substituted lodging exceeded our original accommodations. I would recommend including breakfast, while the food was same venue as the hotels, it was served fresh and hot. I would not have any issues staying there again. Thank you.
Very easy to locate and staff were very helpful. The food was delicious! Great value.
Nice friendly place centrally located.
We had a great stay. Food and staff good, Paddy Foley is a delight!!
Service was personal and exceptional. Great location, great food.
Authentic Irish guesthouse with an excellent restaurant and pub. The staff was very friendly. Patrick Foley, the owner, is well known in Kinsale for his hospitality. We would definitely stay here again
When you advertise that your hotel has onsite parking, it would be an advantage if the directions to that "onsite parking" weren't to the street outside the property that was packed with day trippers. Also when your guests pointed that out that you were told the property had onsite parking, replying with: "don't worry, it will be empty after 6 and you can repark then", isn't really acceptable as an alternative. It would also be an advantage that you check the room prior to giving us keys and allowing us to unpack before shuffling us downstairs to 2 very different rooms. Apparently, the electrics in the 2nd floor had been blown a couple of days before! Other than that, the other properties around (as in food & drink) were great. Bean & Batch did a brilliant brekkie roll and Maison Gourmet was just a perfect breakfast with a very French twist - sensational.
Staff was great and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was going to be enjoyable.
Our stay in Foley's was very enjoyable. The bar and restaurant downstairs was lovely. Location was very central. We stayed there last year alao and will definitely be back again at a later date.
Great place and a great staff They make you feel like family here
Foley‘s in convenient if you are looking to walk around Kenmare and enjoy all the town sights. But we did not like the scent our room - with clearly visible air fresheners. It was overwhelming and not enjoyable and made us wonder what scent was being covered up. Breakfast was included and our party agreed the food was abundant but not particular tasty. We would pass on a repeat visit.
Great location in the middle of town. Convenient parking right outside the door.
Service in bar and restaurant not good. Staff continued to speak to either each other or ignored us. Food only ok, nothing to write home about. Gap in bedroom door when closed, music loud. Overall we would NOT go back there.
It was a very loud place. I didn’t realize there would be a band playing below our room. It was very difficult to sleep. Breakfast was wonderful.
Always enjoy our stay at Foleys. Very friendly staff.
My first time in Kenmare. The town was great and it was a good call to stay here as opposed to the more touristy town of Killarney. Easy access to the Ring of Kerry, good restaurant and bar at the hotel, live music and rooms were clean. The next time I'm in the area I would stay in this town and this hotel.
Carpet is nasty, beds were terrible. Room was hot, no elevator, no top sheet.check in lady was busy tending bar, and did not return to answer question.
Would not recommend this property for older visitors Firstly there is minimal on street parking close by Secondly there are steep stairs to access rooms Thirdly the pub has live music till 1 am. Even after pub doors closed revellers were outside our room overlooking street till after 2 am Patrick the manager was extremely understanding and allowed us to cancel the second /third nights booked We ended up in Kenmare the weekend of Ironman , not a choice we knew about We moved to The Ashe hotel in Tralee which was a great choice . Both Kenmare and Killarney are extremely busy towns
Felt authentic
Foley's was the ideal place to stay as it was in the center of the town. The bed was comfortable and the room was lovely and cool. The food is very tasty and the staff are really friendly.
We want a stay-over-a-pub experience and we got it! Not for everyone, but it was a neat experience otherwise.
Great place right in the centre of town.
Room was comfortable enough (although smelled slightly musty) and the washroom was small but newly renovated. The only real drawback to this place is the noise level. Even though we were on the 2nd floor, the live music on the ground floor below was still clearly audible until midnight each night. We could also hear music from the other bars, through the closed windows. This is not an issue if you plan to stay up late but bring ear plugs if you wish to sleep before midnight.
Great place to stay. Very friendly staff abd great atmosphere. Food was delicious with a good range of choices. Great base for travelling around to see the wonderful sights. Room was spotless. Will definitely visit again.
We enjoyed being in the center of town with access to pubs, shops and restaurants.
Great 3 night stay at Foley's, great atmosphere, great food and great music. Will definately return
Visited Kenmare back in March and knew I had to come back for a visit!
Excellent hotel in heart of Kenmare! Cozy room above a fun pub. Easy walk to great shopping and parks. Will definitely stay again!
Foley"s was excellent. Patrick was great, as:where his boys Dermit, Paudrig (who is a real character) and the youngest Conner.who worked the bar and Breakfast in the morning. The food was excellent and the rooms were nice. I will definitely stay there againn the next tine we are in Kenmare.!
Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Lovely pub with excellent food and drink. Great location to stay on the Ring of Kerry.
Great central location above Foley’s Pub. Clean updated room and bathroom. But be aware it is above a pub with a band that plays in the evening, so if you are not a heavy sleeper, or only plan to sleep after the band finishes, this may not be the place for you.
Lovely pub hotel. Very comfortable room, although up a set of steep stairs. The pub had great music. The noise level was basically nothing. Breakfast was good and plenty.
Dinner was great, much quieter than I expected, safe… Love music with dinner! 💕 Would stay again.
Pros: Conveniently located in the center of town. Welcoming staff. Very clean and great food. Cons: Although we love music and have stayed above pubs before, without issue, it was hard for sleep. Foleys have live music 7 days a week lasting until 11:30- 12 pm. This may be a bonus for some people, but we left tired after our 3 night stay! Suggestion: Maybe do acoustic music during the week and save the amplifier for weekends!
Great stay at Foley's in Kenmare. Lovely town with music everywhere. Foley's has great windows so when closed the room is quiet. Very comfortable stay with delicious breakfast in the morning.
Great as always. Lovely family run business. Music at night excellent 🙂
Top Spot and very central. Dinner was lovely.
Great place to stay right in Kenmare. Rooms are above the pub so we got to hear some music and walk right up to bed. Wasn’t too noisy and didn’t go on too late. Would have liked it to go longer actually - a good sign. Didn’t remember requesting breakfast but was on the bill so we took it and was worth it. Staff friendly and beds comfortable.
The space was very nice. The staff was great. The food was delicious.
Fantastic place! Friendly service!!
Great spot.Staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. Best Pint of Guiness in Kenmare !!
Very nice friendly hotel in centre of town. Lovely music in bar. Continental breakfast was lovely. Also full Irish. Would stay again.
Excellent location right in the centre of town and great hosts were marion and paddy. Service was outstanding and the food was just as good.
Great location town and especially people Good food and shopping
Food good, good location, could hear the music at night. Entertaining. Stone circles were awesome. Dinner at Foleys.
Our room was on the third floor in the front of the building above the bar and we were staying over on a Friday night so we heard the bar and street noise. It wasn’t too bad. Just something to consider when you are booking. The staff was great. The breakfast was great. Awesome scones!
This property is right on the heart of downtown. Clean with renovated bathroom. Free parking in a lot around the corner. Free breakfast in restaurant off menu. Excellent value!
The triple room they gave us was right above the live music/ bar restaurant and it was terribly hot and loud. The second night we requested a fan, but still hot and noisy.I don’t think they have any insulation for the noise. I wonder if that was the only triple??? Loved the town, but would stay someplace else. The week before we stayed above an 1800 bar and couldn’t hear a thing, even tho they had karaoke and loud folks in the bar.
This B&B was nice, but there are lots some steep stairs. The room was large and the bathroom clean. Breakfast was good and included.
very friendly place with live music on every evening. Great! It stopped by 12 so no problem sleeping! The street was surprisingly quiet at night too.
Great place and good bar food
I booked at Foleys last minute, as I needed to break away from my tour for health reasons. They let me check in early and took very good care of me during my 2 night stay. The location is ideal, close to every possible venue, restaurant, pharmacy, post office, shopping, laundry and bus. My room was spacious and quiet, you can open the windows. The only drawback is there is no lift if that is needed (I did not).
Nice place. Food service could do with a little improvement though as our mains arrived as qe still ate starters and they got dumped on the table next to us. Other than that though, a pleasant stay
We loved Foley's! The location was ideal and just what we wanted in Ireland with an area to enjoy a pint out front and live music at night, and right in the heart of town. Food was also really good. Eddie and Brian were amazing and went out of their way to make us comfortable, give recommendations, tell stories, etc. Loved it!
great hotel and restaurant, nice clean rooms in the middle of town, and great staff!!!
Convenient to all local amenities. The food was very good and breakfast very satisfying and varied.
Great location, fun town! Great shops to browse/food/music. Would come here again!
location was great, but while we were in ireland it was hot. and even hotter in this unit. but otherwise great stay
Simple accommodation. Good value.
The hotel is right by all the shops, restaurants and pubs. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Enjoyed my stay here, perfect location in the middle of town, great staff, nice rooms
Very central location. Room adequate. Breakfast adequate. Very noisy in the evening from an entertainer in the bar with the PA turned up extremely loud so we couldn't actually hear our TV in our room - the music was not to our taste so we had to go out to get away from it.
Enjoyed our stay. Beds were a little hard. As in most, rooms are older but very well kept. People were very nice.
Location is the biggest plus about the Temple Bar. Right in the middle of the heart of of Dublin. The staff was the next best aspe:t of our stay. The doormen were especially friendly & helpful. And the dining & front desk staff were great too. Downside of our stay was the small room size & the street noise. We requested & got a room off the street.
This was a nice place right in the thick of things. My only issue is the noise and their was a lot of drunk people noise. As I came with a child, I think next time I would stay up the street.
Our stay was just ok. The triple room was cramped and single bed not very comfortable. The location was great for walking to all of the bars, but this also made sleeping with earplugs necessary. Best part of the stay was the wonderful staff.
We arrived a little late and they were extremely accommodating, friendly. Felt like I was staying with neighbors.
Good location in the heart of Kenmare! Restaurants and pubs nearby with trad music. Be aware that hotel has stairs only as it is above a pub/ restaurant Our triple room was adequate but very cramped, as was the bathroom
This was the most disgusting bed and breakfast or accommodation I have ever seen. The first room we were in had dirt under the coverlet and a massive water/mold mark on the ceiling. We asked to be moved into a different room, which in retrospect, was maybe a mistake. The second room may not have had visible dirt on the bed, but it was awful and didn't have nearly as much light as the first room. There was the sound of a constant water leak in the wall, there was yet another huge mold mark on the ceiling, and the window was broken. It almost fell off onto the roof when I tried to open it. We thought we heard rodents and then, sure enough, there was a mouse in the corner when we came back from dinner. The room smelled like mildew and the bathroom was in disrepair. It was EXTREMELY overpriced for what was offered. Absolutely disgusting and I wish we could get our money (and that night of my life) back.
Enjoyed our stay here. The hotel had plenty of character and good food. Parking available on local streets. Live music in the evening. Breakfast offered traditional cooked menu.
