It is a wonderful, charming property right in the core of Niagara on the Lake, but just off one block so it is very quiet and intimate. The interior is extremely well kept, charming and unique. The room was very quiet, as if were the only ones there (it was full). Climate control is superb. There is space outside to just rest, read, or just sit. The owners , Carrie and Pete, are very attentive, friendly and do everything they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable. You can walk to shops, restaurants, the lake in less than 5 minutes. And, the fact they have a EV charging station makes it perfectly convenient.

There is nothing we did not like about the property. The time window for breakfast could be a little wider, so you could get going I. The morning a little earlier.

We have visited many times and always are so pleased. Carrie is the perfect host for a perfect B&B in a perfect NOTL location.

Eine besonders schöne Unterkunft, liebevolle Einrichtung, geschmackvolle Zimmer. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden sehr warmherzig empfangen. Die Lage ist toll: ganz zentral zur wunderschönen kleinen Altstadt und ruhig zum schlafen. Man kann die Fenster öffnen. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und sorgfältig zubereitet. Auch Extrawünsche werden sofort erfüllt.

Great location. Walkable to downtown.

Carrie the host is attentive and gracious. The location is exceptional and the building historic with high ceilings and many artifacts from its past. Accommodation is comfy, roomy and there's easy parking. The staff are lovely and the pace relaxing.

Very clean. The breakfast was exceptional. Bed was very comfortable. Centrally located so we didn’t need to use our car.

There was nothing that I didn’t like per se. I do feel there were a couple of small details that were not deal breakers. The toilet and tub seal was breaking away and even though everything was clean just made it look less so. I think that is so fixable and probably could be done so effortlessly to just give an overall more updated look. But it’s a minor thing. Also the water heater for the tea had rust in it and the nespresso maker had no nespresso pods in the main dining room to self serve.

Very attractive , well maintained and full of interesting pieces of art and antiques Rooms well maintained and comfortable. The breakfast was without doubt one of the best I have had at a b and b ….and was also specifically put together according to some issues I had mentioned

There was virtually nothing I didn’t like , except that maybe there were a few more stairs than I had been expecting!

Maybe a bit more personal service rather than a self check in and out - which I find a little bit impersonable, especially as the owners are there. Be nice to be greeted on arrival rather then just a key in the room and be nice to hand a key back rather than just walking out and leaving a key with no contact, but this is here nor there really

Sound travelled a bit between the rooms but to be expected in such an historic property.

You couldn't ask for a better location in Niagara-on-the-Lake than the School House B&B. The whole town is at your fingertips, just a single street away. The School House itself has been modernized while still maintaining the old charm and grandeur. It has everything you need, including pleasant little extras. The breakfast was superb, well beyond expectations. This is an experience not to be missed!

This gorgeous property is in a perfect location, quiet yet walkable to everything. The hostess Carrie was so welcoming and made us feel right at home, and spoiled us with divine breakfasts. The bed was SO comfortable!

It was a lovely quaint house with elements of the old school remaining. Well decorated and with cookies and chocolates that guests could enjoy. It had a lovely seating area in the garden. The breakfast was beautifully presented and very tasty. The hosts, Carrie and Pete were friendly and helpful.

We struggled to get hot water pressure in the bathroom sink but it was fine in the shower. Breakfast is only between 9-10am which was a little late for us but Carrie did kindly accommodate us a little earlier when we left, as we had a 7 hour drive to New York.

Everything. We had a great stay. The location was perfect, easy to walk into town, visit Niagara Falls, wineries etc. Room was spacious and comfortable. Nice shower and toiletries. Breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented. We were also able to use the dining room of an evening to enjoy our own nibbles and wine. Our hosts Carrie and Pete were delightful.

I liked everything.

Very clean, great location. The breakfast was really good and they had options for my husband who is lactose intolerant. Room was comfortable with a comfortable sitting area and TV with lots of streaming options.

My fault, but the two floors made it hard at night to use the washroom as it’s very dark. Also the stain glass is beautiful but it lets in light very early.

The breakfast included with the room was high quality, and featured a nice three courses of breakfast foods.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful place about a 5 min stroll to either theatre and a hop skip away from the main street. Just like the pictures. I wish I had taken a pic of our breakfast which was lovely (echoes of afternoon tea) (too busy tucking in). The hostess was very kind and we were able to leave our car when we took in the 2nd show the next day.

School House exceeded all expectations from start to finish — check-in was seamless, and the spacious suite delivered on every front with classic design, a great bathroom, a comfortable king-sized bed, and a cozy fireplace that was perfect for the chilly weather. The location couldn't be better, just a one-minute walk to Queen Street shops, but what truly made the stay magical was owner Carrie, an incredibly warm and welcoming host who pours genuine love and thought into every detail. That spirit extended to the Continental Breakfast, which we almost skipped in favour of dining on Queen Street — thankfully Carrie convinced us to stay, and it was a real treat: beautifully presented in a tower with a yogurt parfait, croissant, fresh fruits, breakfast cake, and an egg and bacon bowl. We're already planning our return trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake in the fall and will absolutely be booking with Carrie and School House again.

Carrie was a gracious host. We stayed in the Principal loft which was a gorgeous and very cozy room. It's a perfect Oasis for a romantic weekend getaway. The morning breakfast was wonderful and thoughtful and ours included Coffee/Tea, Apple/Orange Juice, a baked egg with turkey and sweet potato, a banana loaf, a flaky croissant, a fruit cup, and a yogurt parfait. I will definitely be staying at this beautiful B&B again.

The bathroom was a little bit dated, but not a surprise in a small B&B, it's hardly even worth mentioning. It was exceptionally clean, and had everything you could need.

We were met at the door and shown to our room which was very nice. The room was clean and spacious. The fireplace and comfortable bed was beyond expectation.

Pete and Carrie were exceptional hosts! They went out of their way to make our stay amazing! The location was perfect. Breakfast was excellent. The most wonderful bed and breakfast! We stayed in the 'Secretary' room which was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. We will definitely stay here again next time we are back in NOTL.

A perfect B&B for enjoying Niagara-on-the-Lake. Carrie was fantastic - so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was great and set us up well for the day. Free cookies available at the entrance was a perk! Having a sofa and kettle in the room was great. Our stay was very comfortable and Carrie was a perfect host. We visited the falls and had some great local wines.

Excellent location (walking distance) to the cute downtown and to the Shaw Festival theaters. Excellent breakfast and a very friendly and welcoming hostess.

The owner was charming and was always there to help us and greet us. The breakfast she prepared each morning was lovely and always different. The rooms are lovely. The location is fabulous. The grounds are beautiful. There is not one thing I can say that is not complementary. Anyone staying there would be lucky to have chosen such a wonderful place.

The location was amazing. Just steps from town but in a nice quiet side street. The building itself was incredible. Our room was in the second floor and perfectly appointed for our stay. The bottle of water in the fridge was a very nice touch. Carrie was so lovely and breakfast was incredible.

carrie was a pleasant and gracious host and was very communicative and easy to reach throughout our stay. the space itself was beautiful - elegant old world interior, but with all the conveniences and amenities you would want in a modern accommodation. we loved the fire place in our room and the candle warmer in the dining room - so cozy and welcoming, especially given the winter weather when we stayed. breakfast was simple, delicious, and nourishing - the perfect way to start a day of exploring the local area.
