Shangri-La Qufu

Really a magnificent experience. The staff are great. Vanessa showed me some calligraphy and explained some of the great sayings from Confucius's Analects. Later that day she helped me organize my laundry, and make sure it would be returned in time. The staff at the desk were always helpful and positive. The staff in the breakfast were so friendly and helped me explore the joys of Shandong food. Everyone gave me a famous Shandong welcome. The two ladies in the lobby... who helped me with drinks and kept my hot water topped up- they truly were a joy! They also explained to me the lucky significance of my room number! And finally the food in room service, in the buffet restaurant and in the Confucius family cuisine restaurant was exceptional. I really loved the Confucius cuisine. Everything was so professional but had the magic personal little extra. I came from a far away land and was made to feel at home. Thank you all! Oh and the magic water calligraphy in my bedroom! Yes! 100%

staff service was exceptional. We had difficulty communicating as we only speak English but the staff were very patient and always managed to locate staff who could speak English and help us enjoy our staff.

Everything (location, good personalised service at the breakfast restaurant, good setup and design of the room, clean rooms)

The only setback is the hotel didn’t inform the guests early before arrival to bring swimming caps for the use of the pool.

The hotel is located about a 20 min drive from the Qufu East Train Station and about a 20 min walk to the Confucius Temple. Very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way helping us, also trying to call the Confucius Temple Ticket office for us. English very well spoken. Great selection at the breakfast buffet. The whole family was happy.

Quiet and tidy compared with the city of Qufu. It’s like a retreat and oasis for relaxing and recharging after visiting the crowded and noisy city and the temple. The staff is extremely friendly, kind and patient, given the case that many guests were rude and demanding (in our observation). The hotel offers a lot activities especially the traditional Chinese clothes dress-up. The staff in Hanfu Guan (汉服馆/六艺轩) is helpful,friendly and patient. We really had a good time trying out some Chinese traditional clothes.

Their in-house restaurant is too pricey comparing the value that you get (overall experience).

Prachtig hotel, als alle Shangri-La hotels. Ligt aan een mooie groene tuin, met terras en de lucht kwaliteit in QuFu is beter dan gemiddled. Nadeel in dit hotel vond ik het beperkte engels in het restaurant en in het algemeen het geluidsniveau van de muziek tijdens ontbijt , en de zingende dame achter de piano tijdens diner mag echt zachter. Ik kon geen gesprek voeren met mijn collegea. Ook roken in het bar gedeelte zijn wij niet gewend en is niet prettig.

曲阜很棒的酒店，酒店设施很好，大堂里的孔子像超级可爱，房间里的阳台可以望到酒店的花园，非常漂亮。到孔庙孔府景区打车只要6块，礼宾部也会帮你叫车，服务非常好。酒店早餐种类丰富，就是喝到的西瓜汁有点变质的味道...香宫的中餐应该是当地不错的了，没有吃到枣泥糕还是有点遗憾。总体来说非常好的酒店。

A five star hotel with Chinese characteristics. In other words, expect some sporadic unprofessionalism during your stay. For example: showed up to the Breakfast Buffet at 9:30 (it closes at 10:00) and found that about half the trays were empty. I complained and this merely resulted in a man picking up remaining food and putting it on a plate for me. Then I went to the hotel restaurant the following day (arriving after breakfast finished) and ordered two simple dishes. Yet I had to wait about an hour to receive them. Despite these complaints, it's hard to imagine that there is any superior hotel in the small and undeveloped town of Qufu.

El mejor hotel de la ciudad sin duda.

仕事で何度かとまっていますが、曲阜が田舎街なためシャングリラにも関わらずお値段はお得な方です。ただ周辺は本当に何もありません。フロントの対応は良いですしホテル自体は雰囲気があって良いです。

Ten out of ten. Location was great for us, staff were wonderful, very attentive yet not intrusive. Loved it and will return.

We stayed 2 nights to visit the confucius compound, part of our 15 day china trip. This is by far the best hotel experience of our 6 city entire trip, a five star facility combined with a small boutique hotel personal attention at the most reasonable rate. What else do travelers want? An example, the hotel offers transport to/from the high speed rail station in a nice sedan at 40rmb, versus 32-34rmb for a metered taxi. Highly recommend!

I stay here every time I come to China every 2 months. It is very close to the High Speed Train. This is the best hotel in the area for the price. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Very bad experience with hotel front desk and customer service. Last month, I made a reservation for my parents. I paid the room when I made the reservation on Hotels.com. However, my parents were told that I did not pay when they checked in at the hotel. The manager at hotel front desk is particularly rude to my mom who is senior. No minimum courtesy and politeness were shown by the manager who almost were always yelling at her. My mom were asked to repay although she tried to explain. My mom thought I made a mistake and paid. The second day they found they made a mistake and returned the money back, but no apologies. Recommend the hotel but their customer experience simply does not match a 4/5 star hotel rating.

Beautiful hotel. Staff very helpull, concierge help me to take my train tickets by going himself to the train station to pick it up. Magnificence hotel! The best in that town. Good breakfast and dinnee buffet! Love it!!

Nice hotel, especially liked the outdoor pool on the rooftop. Not too far from the center of the town and main tourist sights. Just a little bit on the expensive side (especially 150RMB per person for breakfast).

The Shangri-la Qufu is a new and beautiful hotel in iconic Qufu city in the Shandong Province. The location of the hotel is very nice, sits right next to a large river and I had a riverview room. It has a nice new design and upholds the feel of Qufu, being the birthplace of Confucius. The room was clean and comfortable, they sent fruit up to the room after arriving past dinner time.

Das neue Haus ist fast schon perfekt. Sorgfältig geführt bis ins Detail hin durchorganisiert. Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Große und hübsche Zimmer. Sauber und gepflegt. Das Essen mit Liebe arrangiert. Man gibt sich große Mühe dem Gast jeden Wunsch zu Erfüllen. Wir haben uns bestens Aufgehoben gefühlt.

The hotel is beautiful and brand new. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little too new as the workout room is not finished and the 17 floor is still being built as well.

Excellent hotel and excellent service. Very pleasant stay.

This is a very large and impressive hotel, excellent amenities all around. Though not within walking distance of any attractions. Easy taxi or cab ride to the local attractions. Staff were excellent in English and there ares some local fast food chains across the street. They had not opened the local Granary restaurant as of our visit but that should offer more price based choices. Breakfast was more expensive than all the other hotels in China we stayed at but it was an excellent buffet. When checking in one cannot be but impressed by the grandeur of the entry, the restaurants, and ultimately the rooms! All outstanding.

下午1点40到的酒店chkin，前台接待may说房间还没有打扫，叫我们再等一个小时，很无语，我们坐了将近4个小时的火车和半个小时的出租车才到了酒店，天气炎热满头是灰，不能进客房洗漱一番、放好行李、换换衣服，却还要等一个小时，真是犹如晴天霹雳！ 2013年新开业的酒店布置很豪华，大堂的休息区华丽舒适，客房干净，电视有不少配字幕的电影频道，有免费的wifi，以上几点都很好。 酒店的早餐内容很一般售价却昂贵159元，周边比较冷清难打车，有一个中式快餐店和肯德基。
