Excellent service! The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and service-minded, and truly made our stay unforgettable. Our Master Suite was amazing and perfectly suited all the needs of our family. We stayed for two nights to relax and unwind after our round trip through Mexico, and it was exactly what we needed. The perfect way to end our holiday. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily return!

Amazing atmosphere and staff. Words can't describe how wonderful a place this is. Extremely clean and beautiful landscaping, helpful and kind staff.
If you are looking for a quiet place to relax with some activities, this will be a great place. Rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained.
Amazing trip for my wife and I to the Grand Residences in Puerto Morelos. It was exactly what we needed to rest and recharge at this beautiful and relaxing location. Aside from the fantastic food, clean and well decorated suites, beautiful pools and fun activities, it was the staff that made the trip unforgettable! They truly make you feel special, like family!! We will no doubt be back soon 😊
Nice! It's a great resort, with an incredible location and atmosphere. The rooms are very comfortable, large, and very clean. This resort is the best one we've ever been to, and we would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I honestly don’t know where to begin because there are simply no words to describe the incredible experience our family had at Grand Residences Riviera Cancun Royal Resort in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Even before we arrived, our concierge, Ms. Caren Moron, was texting us to welcome us and making sure every detail of our trip was taken care of. She was truly the highlight of our stay, arranging everything from our airport transportation to dining reservations and excursions. She made us feel like valued guests before we even stepped foot on the property. Our airport pickup was flawless. We were greeted with cold bottled water and refreshing towels, and from that moment until we departed, we never had to touch our luggage. The level of service was truly first-class. Upon arriving at the resort, we were welcomed with refreshing drinks while Ms. Diana warmly checked us in. She thoroughly explained the resort, its amenities, and all the services available to us. Her kindness and professionalism immediately made us feel at home. Our room was absolutely immaculate. Ms. Maria and her housekeeping team were exceptional, servicing our room twice daily. They kept everything spotless, made our beds beautifully, provided fresh towels, and even left thoughtful decorative touches that made us smile every day. Once we settled in, we headed to the pool, where the staff at the Heaven Beach Bar completely exceeded our expectations. Their service was outstanding. Before we even realized we needed another drink, someone was already there asking if we’d like a refill. Whether we were at the pool or relaxing on the beach, they constantly checked on us with genuine warmth and care. A special thank you to Jesus, who greeted us every morning by personally placing and perfectly arranging towels on our lounge chairs. It may seem like a small gesture, but it reflected the attention to detail and genuine hospitality that made this resort so special. The entertainment team, Alex and Michelle, brought so much energy and fun to every activity. From crafts and dances to aquatic games, they made everyone feel welcome and encouraged guests of all ages to participate. Their enthusiasm was contagious. The valet staff was equally impressive. Every time we entered or left the resort, they greeted us with smiles, opened doors, and always made our comfort and security a priority. The teams at El Faro and Flor de Canela treated us like family. From the hostesses to every waiter and waitress, everyone was attentive and welcoming. By our second morning, they had already remembered exactly how I liked my coffee and anticipated our preferences before we even asked. Dining with the beautiful ocean view every day made every meal even more memorable. A huge thank you to Rene, our bartender, who made the most amazing drinks—from delicious iced coffees to creative cocktails. Every drink was prepared perfectly, and he never disappointed. One of the highlights of our trip was watching the World Cup Final at the resort. Their watch party was beyond impressive. The transformation of the venue was incredible, with amazing food, drinks, decorations, and exceptional service. It truly felt like we were part of something special. Needless to say, this resort exceeded every expectation we had. I can honestly say I have nothing negative to say about our experience. Our 19-year-old son, who initially wasn’t sure if this quieter resort would be for him, ended up having an amazing time and said he would absolutely come back. That alone speaks volumes. To everyone who made our vacation unforgettable—whether I mentioned your name or not—please know that you touched our family’s hearts. Your kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality created memories we will cherish forever. We wholeheartedly recommend Grand Residence Royal Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious, and truly unforgettable vacation. ¡Viva Puerto Morelos! Grand Residences Riviera Cancun Royal Resort in Puerto Morelos, Mexico! We cannot wait to return.
Nice place to visit if you are looking to just relax. Located near local downtown area. Nothing much to do at the resort. Very good service.
We had an amazing and relaxing time, all the employees are super friendly and welcoming!! I love the way you guys care about us fixing the bed at night, the welcome gift it was so nice and the employees at the pool Jesus brings as towels water, fruits he’s very good. Efrain at the sports center I requested a reservation for the pool and mentioned about my husband can’t get sun due to skin cancer and he was super nice and attentive to it The waiters at the pool Jose Francisco, Alejandro the server assistant, the pool bar guys super friendly. Daniel the chef was extremely nice he prepared a bland dinner for my husband since he wasn’t feeling good and Liliana help me with that matters too she was super sweet another waiter who were very attentive Israel, Alfonso and Noah Our concierge David, reception Raul and Misha We actually bought more points with Gonzalo Villanueva and we know him from the Royal Caribbean his a gem !
Our 3 bedroom villa was beautiful and personal at the resort was great!!! everyone from Front Desk to Housekeeping, everyone was helpful and kind to our family. Thank you!! we had a great week
The villas at Grabd Residences are exceptionally beautiful! The resort has a chill vibe and is the perfect place for relaxation in Mexico.
Grand Residence always seems to go above and beyond treating their guests as family. The food is so much better then what you get at other all inclusive.
We had a great time, service was excellent, place was clean and very well kept, really enjoyed the food. Pool staff was very helpful with everything we needed
Here’s a warm, polished Google review: We had a wonderful stay at Grand Residences! The property is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous beachfront views, spotless grounds, and clean, well-maintained pools. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for—relaxing, peaceful, and never felt overcrowded. What really made the experience stand out was the staff. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Their attention to detail and hospitality made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a beautiful beachfront resort with a laid-back vibe and outstanding service, I highly recommend Grand Residences. We would definitely stay here again!
10/10 overall experience! This is my second time staying at this resort because I love it so much. Service is over the top friendly & quick. The rooms were cleaned daily & we all felt safe and taken care of the entire time. The vibes were great at the pool with music and the beach was so relaxing. Would definitely recommend to people looking for a great all inclusive spot, I will be back!
We stayed with our family in one of the 2 bedroom villas with a pool and our experience was great. We have 3 older kids(preteen and adult) and it was enough space for everyone to be comfortable and relax. Michele and Gracia were great with all the activities and got our kids involved in things and we got to make crafts that we took home as souvenirs. We even got our kids to do karaoke thanks to them. Other than finding it a little odd to have to sign a check after every meal at an all inclusive resort it was a great experience. We can't speak to the beach much as the sarrgassm was very bad during our time, but there's nothing the resort can do about Mother nature and they were out every day trying to clean it up. My youngest still enjoyed building sand castles and we swam in the pools the whole time. Overall, we would gladly return. The resort itself is relatively small which allowed it to not be crowded or overrun at any time and it was relaxing and felt more intimate.
Grand Residences was a great place for couples, but for other groups as well. A bit smaller and quieter than some, which is what we wanted. Access to the pools, beach, etc. was wonderful and the employees were fantastic. We were only there for 4 nights, so we did the AI. The rooms were very nice, clean, and had plenty of room. Will definitely plan to return.
Great experience from start to finish. Love this resort! Food selection and quality, attention of the staff and cleanliness are all top notch.
Overpriced. Not worth the cost. All inclusive NOT included for holiday inn vacation club owners. Pool bar closes at 430pm!
The Grand residences is absolutely exquisite. If you really like more of the upscale and elegant vibe with beautiful views; this is a place for you. There's not a lot of nightlife and it's relatively quiet and not a lot of activities like some of the other Mexican Holiday Inn club vacation Resorts; butt if you're looking for peace, beauty, and relaxation, this is a place for you. There's not a lot of food options but they really try to come up with creative things for only having two restaurants. The concierge are amazing, the staff is amazing; the pool staff in heaven's bar is exquisite. I will go there time and time again
Rooms, food and pool are great. But if you’re not a previous Royals owner (identified by a green wristband) expect to get second class service from the staff.
He’ll tell us beautiful. The architecture was immaculate. The sparkly space was great. My kids enjoyed the pool. The beach area was pristine, but we could not use it due to the seaweed. We used the tour company on site and we had two great tours 12 the Maya ruins and the other two explore part, which is one of the best parts we’ve been to. You will not be disappointed coming here
Resort is Boring, it needs more entertainment !! Beach water was yellow and stunk !! Has a lot of seaweed. If you was to Relax great atmosphere. If you want to have fun and entertainment This is NOT the place to stay !!!
This is a great resort. Quiet and relaxing. Rooms as very spacious and loaded with amenities. Has daily maid service and a night time turn down service. 2 large pools and 2 great restaurants. Had an all inclusive plan for all the food as well as room service.
This is a bit of a long review but hopefully it helps answer questions about the resort. ROOM * Smaller sized TV but we really didn’t watch it * Hot water is HOT. You can’t take a cool or even warm shower. At least in our room. Those with little kids might want to get in tough with maintenance to ensure safety. * In room replenished snacks- cookies, mango fruit leather, banana chips, potato chips and chocolate bars as well as usual assortment of water, beer and pop * Good hair dryer * Easy workable climate control complete with a multi speed ceiling fan. * Loved having a good quality mini fridge that worked well. * My husband was really fond of the Nespresso- we have one at home so he was excited that his morning coffee routine wasn’t interrupted. ACTIVITIES * Afternoon tea (small surcharge). Cute with three different options of tea, smoked salmon sandwiches (alas no cucumber), scones and desserts * Cooking class. Your only job is to sit and have a class of wine while the chef prepares a meal in front of you complete with step by step instructions you. I personally love to cook do this was a fun activity for me. Ours was salmon with sweet potatoes and zucchini. RESTAURANT * Heaven beach bar - was amazing but the portions are huge. We didn’t realize the first few times ordering that they don’t want you to go hungry and we overate. The ceviche is out of this world. And I loved the salmon sashimi too. My husband really got into the pepita salad. And, while we weren’t expecting much the hamburger was excellent. As Canadians, we had totally forgotten that you could order a medium hamburger. Dont miss the chicken wings either. The beach waiters will even bring the food to your beach chair. The waiters will also bring you a bucket of ice to keep your water bottles and beer chilled. * International night -the clam chowder was amazing. I asked for a second bowl. I wasn’t hungry that evening but the soup was second bowl worthy * Italian night - the calamari was good with a homemade tartar sauce. I loved the fish option. Simple but beautifully prepared. The focaccia with olive oil was good too as was the panna cotta and red berries in basalmic. Our next visit we ordered the lobster pizza and calamari for appetizers. Our entrees were lobster ravioli and the lamb ragu. The lamb ragu stole the show! I also ordered a gin martini and it was very nice as it was served with three large olives. * French night - the escargots were different than what I was used to - more of a tomato sauce than a garlic butter. But good. The vichyssoise was done nicely as were the mussels. Both of us had the grouper which was excellent. My husband ordered dessert the orange crème brûlée and mentioned it was over cooked * Taco night - it’s actually a buffet in flor de canela. I’d would go back for the Vera Cruz fish, tacos Al pastor. The very nice waiter Louis? Kindly answered my questions about the pozole soup. * Flor de Canela - they bring you a salsa/guacamole to start. I had the ceviche as my starter. It was huge. My husband tried the Mexico City mushroom soup which he highly recommended. I followed my starter with the delicious Mayan fish. My husband had two mains the marrowbone and the pork medallions. For dessert it was a churro snd a bowl of ice cream. * Wine: the Pinot was very nice. My husband enjoyed the Chardonnay and the reds. * Seafood night - is a buffet as well. There are multiple types of shrimp, mussels, crab claws and oysters, as well as accompanying sauces. You place your grill order with the waiter. I had the tuna and my husband had grouper. Absolutely no complaints. They were really nice that night about bringing me lemonade iced teas. I had a bit too much sun and really needed to hydrate. They even made a to-go for me to take back to the room. * Mexican party/bbq - this is held by the lap pool. We were hesitant about this as we aren’t a fan of table sharing. But, we scored a table to ourselves and quite enjoyed the meal (salad bar. Wood bbq with steak, chorizo, chicken, fish.. ) they even had elotes! Be careful there are a handful a dishes that are spicy - I mistook a Serrano for a jalapeño pepper. I had a few moments of mouth fire. * Breakfast is buffet or a La carte. The buffet has a decent variety for the small size of the resort. The fresh juice station is wonderful and they have a freshly squeezed orange juice machine. We ordered a couple of international breakfasts more to say we tried them. Very filling. * Room Service - we ordered a couple of times for breakfast and supper and loved it. Expansive menu, large portions. It takes about 45 minutes to be delivered. They ask you when they should come back for the dishes -1 hour, 2? RESORT * No towel game. Go to the activities desk by the kids club to reserve your chair for the next day. Definitely a more civilized way to do things. The beach butlers will escort you to your beach beds and get you settled. * The pools and whirlpools are open until 10 pm. We usually had the pools to ourselves after supper. * They bring you popsicles and fresh fruit skewers by the pool and beach. * Allergies. They take them seriously here. * Beach - lovely sand. There are some rocks in the water in many spots when you first go in. We found that if you line yourself up with the heaven sign you can pretty much avoid them. This is definitely not a party resort. We loved seeing the multigenerational families enjoying their vacation. We were honestly exhausted when we arrived and just wanted to sleep, rest, eat, repeat. And thankfully this resort excelled at letting us do just that.
We recently stayed at Grand Residences Riviera Cancun and unfortunately our experience did not meet our expectations. The housekeeping team was excellent and kept the resort spotless throughout our stay. However, the food and service were very inconsistent. Some meals were enjoyable, while others were disappointing, especially breakfast, which lacked consistency and clear guidance on ordering. Menus were not always provided, and items available one morning would be missing the next. It was also noticeable that some guests, particularly owners and Spanish-speaking guests, appeared to receive much more attentive service than others. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. Service often depended on who you were. Owners seemed to receive preferential treatment, while regular paying guests were frequently overlooked. We expected a much higher standard from a resort that promotes itself as a luxury five-star property. We were assigned a concierge on arrival and expected an introduction to the resort and its facilities. Instead, the focus seemed to be almost entirely on selling Vacation Club memberships, which made for an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. Another frustrating issue arose before our departure. Knowing we had a late flight, we asked several days in advance about extending our room or arranging somewhere to freshen up before leaving. We were repeatedly told that nothing could be confirmed until the morning of departure. Even after speaking with our concierge, who suggested reception could help, we continued to receive conflicting information. This left us unnecessarily stressed and uncertain about our final day, despite the resort appearing to be far from full occupancy. Better communication and customer care would have made a significant difference. Overall, while the resort itself is attractive and exceptionally clean, the inconsistent food, poor customer service, lack of communication, and constant sales pressure left us disappointed. For the price charged, we expected a genuine five-star experience, but in reality the service felt much closer to a three or four-star resort. Sadly, we would not return.
One of the best resorts Holiday Inn Resorts offers. Luxurious and pampering. The staff are 100 percent on top of everything at your beck and call...Cannot say enough good things about this resort.. dont miss it.
Perfect getaway vacation for our family! Very clean resort. Friendly staff and amazing service all around. Great food!
Medium size property with beautifully manicured grounds, impeccably clean, amazingly friendly staff, excellent food. Very family oriented with an excellent kids club. Extremely safe. Very nice beach unfortunately lots of seaweed at this point. Villas are beautiful with beautiful views. Highly recommended.
All the food was delicious.
Didn't like that we had to make a reservation for dinner. We didn't want to feel like we were on a schedule, or if we felt like something different than what we had to pick when we got there.
A must stay for a relaxing time. The suites are very nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bartenders are great (shout out to Sebastian). We went the last week in May and had a wonderful time. The resort is off the beaten path and there was construction next door but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Truly cannot say enough great things about Grand Residences. If you want the rowdy party crowd experience this is not the place for you. The only downside about the resort is the only bars open after 5pm are the lobby and restaurant bar.
I expected much more from Grand Residences Puerto Morelos and Royal Resorts, especially as a club member. Unfortunately, this trip became one of the most frustrating travel experiences I have had in Mexico because of poor communication, misleading concierge arrangements, and a complete lack of follow-up after serious concerns were raised. Before arrival, our concierge Gustavo never contacted us, which meant no airport transportation had been arranged. We had to scramble upon arrival. Ironically, another concierge later handled our airport return transportation efficiently, proving the issue was not the resort itself, but the lack of professionalism and follow-through from Gustavo. Things became worse after we mentioned during the membership presentation that we were disappointed with the repetitive restaurant menus and wanted a day to shop in Cancun, specifically at the Nike store. Gustavo suddenly became very attentive and convinced us to cancel the Viator transportation we had already booked because he claimed he could arrange something “better.” That was a mistake. Instead of a straightforward shopping trip, we were turned over to a tour operator named Erik and taken through what felt like a series of sales traps disguised as tourism. We were told there would be a quick one-hour jewelry store stop before being dropped near Royal Sands Cancun so we could enjoy the mall area at our own pace. That never happened. The jewelry presentation lasted approximately 2.5 hours. Then we were taken to a souvenir store and restaurant for another 1.5 hours where we were told only three limited menu items were available to us. Even with the restricted menu, we still spent $44 USD. At one point, a staff member had to track me down because Erik called her personal phone to suddenly announce that our “shopping time” would now only be one hour. Anyone familiar with Cancun shopping areas knows that is unrealistic after wasting most of the day on forced commercial stops. The situation became even more uncomfortable when our original vehicle broke down due to failed air conditioning and we were transferred into another van with a different driver. Later, the van pulled over at an unexpected roadside location where Erik suddenly appeared and attempted to hand me off to a stranger who supposedly would take me separately to the mall and pick me up later that evening. At that point, I no longer felt safe. This was completely different from what Gustavo originally promised, and I was not comfortable being separated from the group and placed with someone I did not know in a foreign area. I declined immediately. When we returned to the resort, I explained everything directly to Gustavo. He acknowledged the situation and said he would speak with management about compensating us for the wasted vacation day, possibly with spa services. After that conversation, we never heard from him again. What concerns me most is not just the wasted day, but the disconnect between the luxury branding of Royal Resorts and the actual guest experience we received. Guests should not feel pressured into tourism sales pipelines, misled about transportation and schedules, or placed into situations where they feel unsafe. I hope management responds because this experience seriously changed my perception of Royal Resorts and whether membership loyalty is truly valued.
this is definitely a 5 star resort. The villas are big and luxurious and the staf are there to take care of anything you need. Would go back again and again
The room was beautiful and very clean. All of the staff from check-in to check-out were friendly and very attentive. This is our second visit and we will return. I prefer a more quiet atmosphere and this resort provides just that.
The resort is amazing. Very luxurious!
The food selections could have been better.
My very first experience in an all-inclusive resort and this resort checks all the list. I was spending my birthday here and they made me feel special. They were even generous enough to upgrade me to a beachfront room which was amazing! Attentive, courteous, respectful, pleasant staff-always there to help, a 100%! My personal concierge was the best! She handled our needs perfectly and effortlessly. The place is well maintained, clean, and has a relaxing vibe to it. Food was great and tasteful! Drinks were superb-can be customised too! Only thing I have to comment but not really a bother was the early breakfast or box lunch they serve, I had ordered an early breakfast as we have to leave the place before 7am and they don't serve eggs or continental breakfast. I know, very minor! But that was it, everything else was perfect! 100%!

If you're looking for a relaxing, upscale, calm vacation with all your needs attended to, this is the place. My husband and I have been coming for years, and the staff is exceptional from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Maurico at the front desk; Alex pool entertainment; Jesus & Efren towel service; Margarito pool waiter; and all the waitstaff at dinner. If you need something, just ask. Unfortunately, I had to visit Dr. Paulina. She was kind, thorough, and patient. If you need medical care, do not hesitate to make an appointment.
This is my second trip to this resort and I still absolutely love it. Transportation from the airport to the resort is so convenient and the resort will set it up for you (I always call a week before and arrange times, which are confirmed through email). The drivers greet you with a smile, chilled water, refreshing towels and call in your drink order that is ready when you reach the resort. I love chatting with them on the drive! The luggage attendants explain everything thoroughly and you never touch your bags until you get to your room and they are waiting there. Though this resort only has three restaurants, don't worry about not having a good variety of food choices. El Faro changes every night and while we were there we attended the French, Italian and Seafood nights. Each night had a menu directed towards flavorful and appealing starters, main courses and desserts. I have never had any bad food experiences at this resort. Anything I request grilled comes done to perfection ( I HATE ordering medium and getting well done) - many thanks to the kitchen!! The servers and all workers in the restaurant areas are always happy, friendly and seem to anticipate what is needed before you even have to ask. Mauricio at check-in/check-out was the BEST! He really sets off the tone for your stay (after the friendly driver and luggage attendants). Everything is thoroughly explained and all questions answered. I did have a few in some changes between our 2025 stay and this one and Mauricio took his time and never rushed me. You really develop relationships with the staff at this resort. Strike up a conversation and they will for sure remember you the next time you visit! We have stayed in both the Junior Suite and the Master Suite and although we prefer the Master Suite (who wouldn't???), the Junior Suite has enough comfortable space for two people. We love the ocean view and the spacious balcony in the evenings. Dual sinks in the bathroom is appreciated and so are all the "extras" you may have forgotten (full-sized toothpaste, toothbrush, sewing kit, shoe polisher, beauty kit, bug spray, shower cap, etc.) This resort was pristine last year and I have to say, is the exact same this year. You will not find stray glasses or trash anywhere. It is impeccably clean and inviting. The daily maid service (in my opinion) does an excellent job everyday and the turn-down service with the cute animals is always looked forward to. I honestly have never met anyone working at the resort that does not seem happy or seems to not enjoy their job. Everyone goes out of their way to be helpful. We have made so many relationships with resort staff in only the two times we have been there. We have also meet a wide array of guests age-wise at the resort while staying and have enjoyed that very much. There is no loud partying, no sloppy drunks or inappropriate behavior. It is truly a wonderful resort to go to in order to rest, relax and recharge. I don't ever want to come home!!
This is our 2nd time at Grand Residences, I typically don't write reviews but felt inclined to leave a positive review after our 2nd time here and felt a strong desire to plan our 3rd time here. From the time you arrive here to the time you leave, you feel like you belong and are VIP even if you aren't an owner. I did read that another reviewer noted that they felt like they didn't get the level of service other ethnicities may have gotten, I being Asian descent did not experience that discrimination. Staff is what sets Grand Residences apart, they know they have a small resort w/limited space and entertainment, so they excel at what they have and that's Staff and Food/Drinks. Drinks were delightful, top shelf liquor at your disposal, food was top tier fine dining experience from Breakfast to Dinner, never an issue. The only bad thing i can say is that the beach isn't great because of rocks and seaweed but that's beyond their control. Overall, we always try to include Grand Residences as either the Front end or Tail end of our trip because we love this place so much, looking forward to our 3rd trip here soon.
Modern and well manicured property with outstanding staff at every encounter. Mexican show at pool was fabulous we will return
Nice quiet location. Rooms were beautiful and maid service every day. Nice and quiet. Met a lot of nice people. Anything you wanted was just a phone call away.
Not worth the price. Villas are great but that’s it. All-inclusive experience is a scam snd there are no amenities. Pool and pool bar are done at 5PM
After spending time at the Grand Residence, I have finally found a place that ticks all the boxes of what I want from the experience of staying at a resort. I have stayed at other places in the past and everything I dislike about those experiences was NOT at all what I encountered at the Grand Residence. It is because of this experience that I have told my husband if we return to Mexico for a sunny vacation, I will not stay at any other resort. The Grand Residence offers everything I need and things I didn't even know I wanted. Guests don't have to ask for anything, the staff already has it taken care of. All employees looked happy to be there. At all times, staff appeared busy and hard-working, but not over worked, and earnest. The entire compound was exceptionally clean day and night. The food was delicious. Preferably, the menus for dinner had a handful of options. That is a sign of true cuisine that is meticulously prepared well with attention to taste. Whether lunch or dinner, each meal had its own unique flavoring and seasoning as opposed to everything tasting the same which has been my experience at other resorts. I prefer a resort with a sense of intimacy. The Grand Residence is not overwhelmingly huge and busy. It is peaceful and luxurious. The beach and pool areas are not overly crowded. At all times there is a member of staff close by to assist with anything. Again, at times they offer before you even have to ask. Yes, there is seaweed in the ocean, but it was tended to daily and personally did not find it to be bothersome. Though there was the option to stay by the pool, I stayed on the beach throughout my stay and missed out on nothing. Everything was within close proximity, staff was present for any type of service needes, and it was beautiful. I like to roll out of bed onto the beach and that is what I did. For someone who likes other things to do, there are plenty of amenities of which to take advantage. Also, there was no drunkenness, no garish behavior, no rudeness from guests. For some that is a good time, but not for me. For those who do enjoy all that, I recommend they stay at one of the other resorts where I have had the displeasure of staying.
The live music at dinner was outrageously and horribly loud. It was louder than a club and impossible to even talk to the people at your table. We asked politely for them to turn down the volume on the speaker (especially since there were only 2 other groups sitting in the restaurant) and they said no. It seemed like there were 40 people staying at the resort and therefore plenty of open rooms, but they gave our entire party rooms facing a construction zone. We asked for turn down service and no one cleaned our room the whole stay. There was room service food left out for 2 days in the foyer area outside our hotel rooms. They do not go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant or special - again, the hotel was empty yet they could not offer late check out for just one hour. The manager Isai was incredible rude and impolite. To be honest, will never stay here again. The food was mediocre.
Beautiful quiet smaller resort, pristine cleanliness! Not a party spot, but PERFECT for quiet tropical getaway! Friendliest staff guaranteed Great food!
Great resort with amenities. Lots of helpful & very frinedly staff. Shuttle transport was a plus. Only problem was there is almost nothing to do after 5pm.
Our stay at Grand Residences was extremely relaxing and very accommodating! Every employee at the resort was kind and helpful. Despite only having a few restaurants, the food was very good and I loved the variety for dinner options. The theme dinners were super fun and the food was very well prepared for all meals. There were also activities at the pool throughout the day that were fun. It was easy to book excursions through the concierge, who was extremely helpful and personalized our experience there. The pool area was really nice and very clean. There was some construction being done around/near the property, but that didn't bother us! It was relatively quiet on the property, especially at night. The room itself was beautiful and spacious- a couple of mosquitoes got in but not a big deal.
I have been coming to this property for 10 years - it is still outstanding and they have kept up the property well. Excellent staff services and very clean. The pool set up is top notch and beautiful. Rooms are very spacious and I highly recommend.
Overall, an outstanding resort experience. Grounds were immaculate, food was very good, and the staff was attentive and courteous. An excellent resort if looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation with great food and exceptional service.
The hotel is clean and nice, the food is mediocre at best. I had a room that faced construction that made the balcony unusable.
Been there many times and the facilities and service remain great. Breakfasts are excellent and other meals are solid. Bit more seaweed than I remember on the beach but the hotel works hard to have it clean in the morning. There is a hotel coming up next door so will be interesting to see if that changes the noise level (which remains very quiet in the evening).
We stayed here last year and had a great time, so we decided to come here again. We are more the “variety is the spice of life” vs “once you find something good, stick to it” type of family, so coming back to the same vacation destination (and hotel, no less) two years in a row was a bold move. It did not pay off, and here’s why. Most of the things we loved about the hotel were still true: - The kid’s club is AMAZING. All the staff there are genuinely fantastic, and you can tell they love kids and working there. They deserve all the praise in the world. - The resort is quiet. No weddings or parties on-site means no obnoxious music until midnight like other hotels. And the volume and genre of music played at the pool during the day is perfect. - The resort is small, so you can walk from one end to another in two minutes. It makes it easy to meet up with other families, get food, amenities, check in/out, etc. - Since the resort is small, there’s only two restaurants on-site. In reality, it’s more like a single restaurant with different menus depending on where you’re sitting. Luckily the food is good and generally hasn’t let us down. - Round trip transportation from the airport is included. It’s your own private black SUV which is quite nice. - Shout out to Manuela, our favorite person at the resort. She was our waitress for breakfast and lunch almost every day, and by day two she had already remembered our favorite drink orders and was automatically bringing them as soon as we sat down. Which brings me to the less than stellar aspects of our recent stay: - The remaining service staff at the restaurant are hit or miss. Most are nice, friendly, attentive, but there are some who simply miss the mark. There are two gentlemen by the name of Israel. One of them is fine, but the taller, skinnier Israel waited on us for lunch one day. Not only did he take the order from a table first that sat down well after us, he did not put my drink order in, and he had to be reminded twice to bring ketchup. The table who sat down after us were a white couple. I only mention this because it seems to be a recurring theme at this resort. Which brings me to my next point. - I’ve noticed that the staff are MUCH friendlier and livelier to white people than Asian people. At restaurants, the staff react completely differently to white guests, chatting up a storm, asking them about their plans, etc. That’s fine, I don’t really feel like having small talk with the staff anyway. However, the most egregious offence is the fact that the staff tells them about off-menu items that my wife and I have never heard of previously. Okay, to be fair, they’re just things like fruit smoothies or coffee drinks, but why do I have to overhear it from another table to know that it’s something I can order?! I’m sure the staff are trained to treat everyone the same, but in reality, it’s anything but. Management, please do something about this. - The same goes with owners vs non-owners. I don’t need to comment on the relentless pressure to attend a time-share presentation as soon as you check-in, as that’s been well covered in other reviews, but why is there such a strong delineation between the two? I mean, blue towels for owners and grey towels for non-owners? Owners get first dibs at restaurant reservations and beach/pool seating, while non-owners have to wake up at 7am just to try to get a spot for the next day, often getting rejected because everything is “full”? And that is with the resort at 60% capacity. What happens at 100% capacity? People just have to stay in their hotel rooms? During our stay, half of the pool chairs were empty until noon anyway. And as far as I can tell, the ocean-view rooms are now off-limits to non-owners. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I just checked a few dates later this year and next year and an ocean-view room was never an option. Just so I get this correct, owners get “front-row” rooms, front row seats to the beach/pool, and first dibs to the restaurant? Meantime non-owners are relegated to second class citizens? Give me a break. - The seaweed/sargassum situation. I know it’s not the resort’s fault, but it was really bad this year. So bad that you couldn’t even get near the beach, let alone go into the water. The resort tries to actively clean up the seaweed, but I think there’s actually more being washed ashore than being removed. Last year, the seaweed-removal tractor would just run for an hour or so each morning and the beach would be clear, but during this stay it was running continuously during the day. Take a look at the pictures. It’s quite a mess. - The massage place that I LOVED, Aqua Spa, closed down between April 2025 and April 2026. It was located between Grand Residences and Dreams Jade right on the beach, and it was such a great place. I had two deep tissue massages last year there, and they were some of the best massages I’ve had in my life. I was really looking forward to returning, but I was devastated to find out that they were no longer there. Again, not the resort’s fault per se, but I can’t help wonder if all the seaweed that they happen to put right near where the Spa used to be forced them to shut down. I could probably go on and on about other negatives, but I’m tired of typing. If you’ve read this far, then you can probably guess that I won’t be returning to this particular resort. I’ve been to Cancun 4 out of the last 5 years, so I think it’s time for a change of pace. Punta Cana, anyone?
Great get away for a short family trip. Beautiful resort, extremely well kept. Great food and friendly staff. Perfect for a relaxing stay.
Beyond our expectations. Was our first all inclusive, but they hit it out of the ballpark. From the grounds, rooms and staff, we were treated like Rockstars. Food was excellent and great variety for everyone. Loved it.
Overall good experience. The resort will be much better when the seaweed is clear, beaches are open (due to weather) and the construction next to resort is completed.
Terrific place! Caring staff. Good food. Large rooms. Airport vans. Twice a day cleaning. Room service fairly promp. Adult pool separate.
Beautiful resort and excellent service. We go here every year and favorite thing is seeing the same staff year after year. Extra shout out to Gustavo( concierge), Grecia and Alex( entertainment) Hazael( pool bartender) and the pool staff Efrain, Chez, Jesus, Fidencio, Angel and Maelik. All wonderful, friendly and helpful staff who made our stay much more enjoyable!
Wonderful chilled out high end resort. Perfect for familes that don’t want a 24/7 party. Amazing staff and wonderful food and suites. Excited to see the resort expand!
Amazing resort. Beautiful! Clean! Outstanding views, great amenities. The only negative was the sales pitch. It was fine with the initial salesman but the manager was way to aggressive for my liking.
We absolutely LOVE Grand Residences! It’s 5 star all the way— amazing rooms, wonderful service, a fantastic kids club, beautifully kept grounds, and great activities. This year, I really got into all of the fun arts and crafts, adult activities. Grecia and Alex are AMAZING and just so much fun to do crafts with!! They plan, fun activities, and are just so patient and wonderful! I had such a fantastic time doing all sorts of activities with them this year. So relaxing and so fun! Can’t wait to go back and do more activities with these two wonderful ladies again next year!
Overall we had an excellent holiday at Grand Residences. The property is beautiful and well taken care of. Highlights for us were the absolutely amazing service from all staff, and the excellent food and drink options. This is a very special place
This resort is great! If you like a smaller type of resort that is budget friendly then this one is hard to beat. We’ve been here 5x now and it seems to never change but in a good way. The master suite is perfect for a family of four. The food is very good - always fresh and made on a small scale, unlike many of the other massive resorts in the area. Finally, the staff at the pool , in the restaurant and room cleaning area amazing - we’ve seen the same faces on staff since 2017 and they are great! We’ll be back again for sure.
The best resort in México! Accommodations were superb and the resort was beautiful. All staff members were very friendly and extremely accommodating! Our waiter, Noe was outstanding. Our bartender, Gerrado was awesome. Our pool girl, Jen was very accommodating and the activities staff, especially Alex were fun! Our concierge, Claudia made scheduling everything easy! Can't wait to go back!
Location was out of the way so mainly couples or adult groups from America. To get anywhere outside the hotel you need a taxi or hire car. The atmosphere was very friendly and staff pleasant and courteous. They enjoyed a joke and exchange of questions. The room we had was large and comfortable with daily cleaning and towel change. Laundry service is available although a little expensive. We managed to get our holiday cheaper than others paid but feel it was about right for the service. The hotel and grounds were spotless, but mind your step as the constant mopping can leave the floors a little slippery, although there are signs all over the place. The place was nice and quiet, no rowdy partys. In the day there were some adult games in the pool as well as aqua aerobics, bingo, guess the song ect and in the children's pool for the few that were there. Some nights they had entertainment like karaoke, jazz but at a reasonable level so as not to disturb people. You can order drink and food at your sunbed once settled and the staff around the pool are really attentive. The sunbeds need to be booked a day in advance at the sunbed booth. The dinner also needs to be booked in advance unless you go through the concierge. You can also book trips at the trip booth next to the sunbed booth. Unless you want a hard sell time share, don't accept a discount on trips from the concierge to go to the information presentation, as they want you to sign up there and then for $10,000++ and reading reviews, what you sign up for and what you get in reality is very questionable. The concierge can book the dinner times for you for the whole stay and can book trips etc and sort out any problems. Quite a few days out of 2 weeks out was too windy to put up the sun umbrella and too hot with uv index of 10 to sit out in the sun. We were offered a pleb in the shade once as misty if the 'owners' who had booked sunbeds weren't going to use them that day. Owners have priority booking for sunbeds and meals.
The Grand Residences is a beautiful property with nice amenities. The mission-style architecture is lovely, and the landscaping is beautiful. The property is also very clean and well cared for. The junior suite has a great layout and nice touches (kitchenette, lighting, bath amenities). The resort is very low key and quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. Even at noon in the blazing sun, the pretty pool area feels vast and uncrowded. Loved the swim up bar. But the pool and beach chair reservation system is annoying, tbh. You have to reserve your chairs each day, for the next day ahead. When I’m on vacation, I don’t want to plan where I want to sit tomorrow (plus, sun, shade, and wind conditions all would affect that choice). Often, large groups of chairs go unused when people don’t show up. It’s a clunky and unnecessary system. The other big negative to be aware of is the seaweed on the beach - it’s a major problem here. In mid March, 3 days of our stay the beach and ocean were completely unusable with a 1-foot deep pile of bristly bushy seaweed at the water line, and a thick mat floating in the water. This sargasso seaweed is not like the flimsy lettuce seaweed we’re used to in the northeast. It’s thick and bushy and hard. We tried swimming with it but it was very unpleasant. Very few guests ever ventured in the water (most stayed by the pool), which is sad. We only had 1 day of relatively clear water (and even then small clumps of floating seaweed were all around). They have workers constantly going back and forth with a tractor to try and scoop it all up but it only makes a dent in the vast piles (plus it’s not exactly a relaxing experience to sit on the sand with a large tractor running constantly a few feet away from you all day long). Of course I understand it’s natural, but other resorts don’t have this problem. Just a heads up that if the beach is important to you, this resort is not a good choice between March and June (as confirmed to us by the lifeguard and other guests). On the upside, the food is terrific with lots of good choices and high quality (the all inclusive package was great. We also loved the included private airport transportation. In all, it’s a relaxing spot in a nicely designed environment. If they get the seaweed under control, this place would be close to perfect.
One of the best, cleanest, friendliest, most impressive places we have been. We almost felt out of place with the endless luxury and exuberance of the resort. One of the best kept secrets - pssstt!
This resort was an extremely pleasant surprise. Kids parents and grandparents (ranging in age from 3 months old to 84 years old) had an incredible time. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, our master suite was absolutely perfect. Kids absolutely loved the kids club--amazing staff. The only downside is there is lots of kelp on the beach. Beware.
Previous reviews have highlighted this hotel and the calm, relaxing environment. The food is excellent. There is a theme in the a la-carte restaurant every night (Italian, French, International, Seafood) and the second restaurant serves Mexican food each night. Staff are brilliant and everyone goes out of their way to help you or simply wish you good morning when they pass. It's like a family. It is a small hotel and right at the bottom of the resort. The rooms and grounds are kept impeccably clean. Rooms are serviced every day and there is also a "turn down" service in the evenings. Rooms have TV with various cable channels and a small kitchenette. There are also televisions in the main lobby bar. On arrival at our room after travelling around 18 hours door to door we were greeted with fresh fruit, snacks/crisps/chocolate and a fridge full of water, beer and soft drinks. These are replenished each day as part of the all inclusive package. There are two pool areas, with the second being a 25 metre lane swimming pool which was in excellent condition. There was also a pretty full program of activities during the day around the main pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grand Residences and left feeling very relaxed, well fed and appreciated. Some pointers however to help future visitors with their stay. The beach regularly had large quantities of sargassum wash up, but an army of staff keep this under control. Whilst during our stay the windy conditions prevented us from swimming in the sea each day, when the red flags do change to yellow, there is a hotel lifeguard watching over you. The hotels swimming pools however more than compensate. There is a large scale hotel complex being built directly next door and the noise can be heard from the back of the hotel, but once inside your room, or inside the grounds of the hotel you can hardly hear it, if at all. The hotel is around 2 miles from the centre of Puerto Morelos. The road between the hotel and the port is not brilliant with only pavements in some areas. It is about a 45 minute walk in and the road is dusty. Monday to Saturday lunchtime it is also very busy with the building site traffic. I walked in and back on a Saturday afternoon and it was fine as work had finished for the weekend. A Taxi will charge 200 MXN each way. Puerto Morelos centre is however a must visit. There is also a marina about 200 metres north of the hotel (accessible by walking along the beach). You can book a snorkel tour from here which takes you out onto the nearby reef. We also booked a Chichen Itza tour via the tour operator based at the hotel. Well worth the visit. It is worthy of note that the hotel is part of a chain and they will try and promote a meeting with their timeshare representatives. We attended such a meeting and it lasted about 2 hours. It ended up being a very hard sales pitch which became slightly uncomfortable when we said "no". In return for attending the presentation the hotel give you some vouchers for excursions or spa treatment. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's quiet and out of the way. Very minimal entertainment so don't expect a party hotel. It's not that, but that is what makes it so good. Although we were "all inclusive" there was very much a culture / expectation of tipping staff which wasn't usual with our experience of all inclusive holidays. However, we were more than happy to tip as the service we received by all staff was excellent. We would recommend this hotel.
It was amazing! The master suite is beautiful and the food was delicious. All of the staff was very helpful and professional. This was the first trip that I've taken where I wasn't anxious to leave the room and go do things because the room itself was so nice.
As always, we had a wonderful time. The staff is so warm and friendly. The entertainment/ crafts team is fabulous. They always come up with new ideas to make everyone happy.
Highly recommend. Everything is perfect. Staffs are so friendly.Food is great. Nice transportation good driver. Good concierge, very helpful.
Excellent resort although a bit on the small side. It is a very chill family friendly resort, with excellent food and service.
Beautiful property, well maintained, great staff! Great value for the $.
New, updated property. It was a peaceful vacation, very relaxing. The staff treated you like family, watched members hug employees on departure day. Hard to get a chair poolside in the adult pool area so we sat by the lower pool which was perfectly fine. It was very windy which is normal in February, March. Did not care to sit on the beach as we couldn’t put the umbrellas up due to the windy conditions. Palapa’s on the beach would be great for shade vs. umbrella for windy days like they have at The Royal Sands in Cancun.
Small, not crowded. Staff was great! Suite was very comfortable and well appointed. Food was very good. Easy to get places by pool and beach.
Beach is a little rocky. Lots of construction noise during the day.
A beautiful resort, with beautiful views. The amenities are really well designed and never crowded. The staff was beyond wonderful. Especially the dining staff. I can’t describe how seriously they took their jobs. The chef would come out and ask about our allergies. The servers would do everything possible to accommodate dietary issues. The theme nights in the restaurants allowed many choices. Our last night there, the resort had an outdoor Mexican celebratory dinner, with live music. It was a blast! The pool staff were all terrific too. Always ready to attend us. We had a Junior Suite this time around. It was very nice. Always very clean. I recommend utilizing the knowledge of the Concierge service too. Our concierge, Jane, did a tremendous job advising us. She really looked after us. This is the place to go and relax in luxury. We’ve stayed at a lot of high end resorts. This was different. We genuinely don’t want to go home.
The Grand Residences is a place where guests feel welcome and taken care of. The place is quiet, clean, and elegant. Choosing the right pillow is a wonderful option as hotel pillows often fa;; short in quality. The town of Puerto Morelos offers several fine dining experiences that rival or surpass the quality of meals at the Residences.
great resort and not crowded loved it, food was very good with plenty of choices. we really liked the smaller not crowded resort. Third trip to Cancun and would definitely stay here again.
Wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and booked here. Little did we know this resort was so private and exclusive. We were treated extremely well, it wasn't overcrowded, and everyone catered to our needs. To be in the Cancun area (30min south of airport) it was very quiet. They are adding to the resort in late 27', will comeback to see that expansion, and what's been added. Great place for a couple to get away and relax.
I went with my 19 year old daughter. Very clean and safe resort!!! Already planning a return trip!! Would highly recommend!
I have stayed at Grand Residence over 8 times, and I am headed there again tomorrow. Every trip was wonderful! However, 2 days ago I was notified that I would have to move to a different room on my final night there. They dropped this on me 3 days before my arrival. This is from corporate and is monetarily based. Beware, they may change your room to a cheaper room and offer $250 resort credit. This is poor customer service and a rip off financially! The resort is wonderful, as are the employees. However, administration has lost validity!
Lovely holiday break at a relaxed smaller resort. Great service, helpful staff. Good facilities, comfortable suite for a family of four. Food was adequate.
Great quiet resort. Great place to relax and take in the sunshine. The villas are spacious and has all that you need. We love this resort, this was our second time visiting. Would recommend having some type of entertainment in the evenings.
We had pretty good time. The place looks nice. But there were several things that made things a bit more complicated and controlled. Would have liked more food options, less waiting for staff to handle basic needs, better service overall.
Amazing rooms with good space. Very clean and well maintained hotel. The pool, the beach, the beach restaurant - all very nice. There are several activities during the day, which the kids loved. Make sure to try the Flor de Canela restaurant - very good and authentic Mexican food. The hotel is quiet at night. Perfect for a good rest. We (both adults and kids) loved it!
Even though it is all inclusive, there is an expectation to tip every time you get something. This is quite uncomfortable when you come from a country where tipping is unusual. A suggestion to the hotel is to create a tip package that guests can choose to pay and then distribute to the staff, if this is necessary… The beach is rocky when you get into the water. So get a pair of water shoes if you want to swim In the sea.
The Grand Residence staff is exceptional, and the hotel is clean and well-equipped to meet your needs. If you're looking for a party hotel, this is not it. It is quiet, relaxing, and an excellent place to soak up some sunshine. We have returned over several years, and it is a place to go for respite.
All staff were very friendly, I want to specially give an complement to Edwin Mendoza and Oliver for being very attentive while our stay. Great personality and great customer service.
