Turnberry Boutique Hotel

Perfectly central. Staff accommodated our walking-challenged family member by changing booked room to ground floor with minimal stairs. Staff also suggested changing our room to be next to her room. A good idea as we were able to lend a helping hand. As we were placed in the coldest room due to its location, we were given over and above an air-con, an extra heater, which solved the problem. A really convenient stay, thank you

Central within walking distance to restaurants

There were customers coming in at 4h in the morning and were very loud for a long time. They sorted them out the next morning

Location and secure parking

This hotel cannot be rated as a 4 star. Needs a lot of maintenance and upkeeping. The available tv channels are very restricted. Electrical connections are very outdated and limited. Towels need replacement. Carpets is worn out. Shower heads need to be upgraded. Single ply toilet paper. It seems that no upgrading has been done since start up.

It was very cold.No heating.I had to get my sleeping bag from my car but was still cold,so did not sleep well.Bar was closed but staff did manage tovget ne bottled water from bar No visible security in place day or night.I had to call and waited long before gate was opened on arrival.Could not open blinds.TV did not work

Took a while for someone to open the gate , don’t know where he/ she was .The Linen was dirty, carpet in room wasn’t cleaned, general carpet going to room wasn’t vacuumed or brushed at all was terribly dirty.

Two things I was surprised that's not in da rooms, 1 a microwave and 2 the TV was open view, not even dst or a smart TV. I also saw the staff didn't check to see if there enough coffee, milk and sugar everyday.

The breakfast was cold because while eating my cereal the waiter brought out the main course. It was cold when I eat it.

I did not like the fact that I was on the 2nd floor. Nobody asked me where I wanted to be checked in. I am 55 and have a back problem. The room was too small for three people.

The place was not 4 stars as advertised. The rooms were in bad condition and carpets looked as if it was never vacuumed.

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere calm and relaxing. The location was convenient, and check‑in was straightforward, which made our overnight stay pleasant overall

We arrived late and unfortunately found that there was not enough parking space available. The hotel had already parked other visitors inside, which meant we had to leave our car behind theirs. This made it impossible for us to sleep in, as we had to wake up early to move our car so as not to inconvenience other guests. While the stay itself was fine, the parking situation was very inconvenient.

Buffet Breakfast and the kitchen staff were very friendly.

Central location

I booked dinner at the restaurant by phone only to discover that the so-called restaurant was in fact a breakfast room and we had been booked at a restaurant "just round the corner" some 500m away. Hotel reception staff were "disinterested". The barman was untrained. He had to go back to the main hotel 3 times for ice, unflavoured tonic and lemon for our G & T's. Ran out of beer glasses. No wonder it took 20 minutes to serve us. The bedroom was tiny. It barely took the queen double bed. The single lady serving in the breakfast room battled bravely to cope. (Understaffed.) Ran out of butter and waited 5 minutes for fresh supply from the main hotel. "Faulty Towers" without the humour.

The hotel interior is being neglectes. Bathroom/shower in room needs deep cleaning. You can get better for much cheaper.

The king bed was comfortable

No hot water in shower and the door didn't fit, water all over the bathroom floor. Fridge sounded like a tractor. Had to switch it off. Aircon went off during the night. Dinner menu poor and food inedible. If I hadn't prepaid Booking.com, I would have paid half.

The room had mosquitos in it but no mosquito repellents. We asked at reception but they couldn't help so we had to buy our own sprays/plug-in.

Excellent and the staff makes it even more enjoyable with their wit and friendliness.

My mattress kept on feeling if I was falling off the bed - rather put 1 king size bed in the room instead of 2 doubles.

This property is not a 4 star hotel it is very run down and the facility’s are so dirty. Carpet was putrid and stained. They hadn’t even vacuumed the floors. Bedding was dirty. The curtains broken. The stools in the room were badly stained. Shower was full of mould there was no coffee or tea in the rooms even though there was a kettle and cups. Breakfast was just ok. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Everything, the shower was tops after a long drive. The bed was very comfortable. It was home away from home❤️

There isn't a thing that I didn't like

The location is convenient. Regarding breakfast, I came for a marathon and required a simple breakfast of bread, peanut butter and banana. I did enquire and understood these would be made available. The breakfast pack was a great idea, but wished the contents were as per my request.

Family rooms are small, arcon was defective, noisy and leaking into the room. The refrigerator does not work well. The TV aerial reception does not work also hopelessly too small.

The first day was a nightmare.Our room was too small ,the floor was creaking and the bed also. Floorss are dirty generally because after I complained we were moved to a decent room. It was big and good-looking but the the floor was dirty . Even the steps to the rooms are not clean. I was satisfied with bed linen and towels.

- There is not a single patch of grass, yet they classify themselves as “pet friendly” - You make prior communication for specific arrangements with the property, however do not receive any response - The rooms were not cleaned as we found pieces of previously used strip lashes on the bathroom floor - Check out was in the form of simply handing back keys as the receptionist took a call, so we were not even asked how our stay was, hence the written feedback here - We stayed over for 1 night (a Saturday) and were told the hotel restaurant is closed with no further explanation. This just caused major inconvenience for myself and my family - We booked 2 rooms of which the one rooms fridge was not working. Upon reporting this to reception we were informed that maintenance do not work over the weekend and so the gentleman working in the bar will take a look at it and if he doesn’t come right, they will take another fridge from the one room that was vacant that night. At the end of it, the fridge was swapped out with the one from another room and when done so the freezer part was completely iced up and we couldn’t even make use of it anyway - so that was a pointless exercise - In the one room we booked (K3), almost every single piece of furniture was broken (both chairs and there were only two in the room), the chandelier above the bed was also hanging on by a thread - The aircon had leaked all down the wall in the one room (K3) - refer to the pictures - The hotel is supposed to aim at providing their guests with convenience and make them feel at home. Well there was nothing convenient about the place and it felt the furthest from home

Friendly staff.. Special thanks to Jermaine.. who went xtra mile to accomodate us, downstairs.. since my feet were swollen & painful,, i couldn't use the stairs.. The place is stunning.. Breakfast was delish.. keep up the great work. Will definitely stay there again&recomend the place..
