Everything is beautiful but when you put the location to navigate to the location it takes you to woodlands estate which is a distance and it is way before Menlyn mall. And the water was cold in the morning.

The venue is breathtaking. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was superb.

We got married here in 2017 and were told that no music was allowed. On our last night a few people were having a party on the terrace which could be viewed from our suite. DJ was playing loud music on the terrace. We could not sleep and could also not make use of the dinner facilities.

My room 6 ; there was an empty wine bottle and fruit bowl outside the room on the patio - it hadn’t been cleared away from the previous stay . Also the room air conditioner was not working properly and was too noisy to keep on - I reported it to the front desk

Room was very nice & spacious. Location also nice.

Breakfast was realy average. Cooked meal was very oily. Everything on the plate was oily. Lunch was super expensive for what we had. All options for lunch was really expensive.

That asked what we wanted for breakfast the previous evening at dinner which was good as needed to be away early. It came promptly and was what we ordered. Dry tasty too. Bed very comfortable.

Before the stay there could have been promoter responses to emails.

Staff although generally courteous were not well trained and did not rise to the expectation of a 5 star establishment! The breakfast staff were particularly bad with exceptional long waiting time. No knowledge of the menu.. No butter only margarine and then lied about it!! The building although grandiose and well furnished is showing signs of dating and low maintenance. The honeymoon suite bubble bath did not work. When a guest house advertise and charge 5 star rates one expects 5 star accommodation in totality this was far from what was delivered. I for one won't be back!!

The breakfast included was great but he unfortunately did not ask how I wanted my eggs , and instead of rocket we got lettuce... Also had no sesame seeds... Would like maybe options of cereal and muesli... Would have been nice if you can have breakfast on the stoep with a view!!

It displays the context of opulence and you feel like this is gonna be a grand experience. The gentlemen who was our barman and waiter (I forget your name, but you have skills and will go far)

A Deeply Disappointing Stay – Far from 5-Star Standards The initial sense of opulence faded almost instantly upon arrival. What should have been a luxurious experience quickly revealed a lack of maintenance water was dripping down the walls and even from the entrance hall ceiling. For a hotel marketed as a 5-star boutique experience, the attention to detail was shockingly absent. The service was equally underwhelming. Basic etiquette seemed to be forgotten staff reached across the table during breakfast, their uniforms faded and worn, and the table linen was stained and tired-looking. The early morning noise from the back of house was unacceptable; doors slamming and loud chatter from staff started as early as 6:30 a.m., not once but multiple times, making it impossible to rest. Dinner was another disappointment. The portion served a quarter chicken hardly justifies fine dining pricing or 5-star expectations. Even the in-room bar selection was dismal, with nothing more than a few Black Label beers on offer not exactly what one expects from a supposed boutique luxury stay. Perhaps most disappointing was the unprofessional conduct at the end of my visit. A staff member called out to me loudly from across the area, shouting for me to come to the office “when I was done.” It felt less like a guest interaction and more like being reprimanded by a school principal. (This was a comment even shared to me by another guested, they laughed and said, sounds like your in trouble, kinda embarrassing) Overall, the experience fell far short of the standards implied by its 5-star status. What could have been an elegant and memorable stay was instead marred by poor service, neglect, and a complete lack of refinement.

I was woken up at 6am by people having breakfast at the dining room, was woken by someone who dropped their cutlery. when I thought that was the worst thing, they started playing classical music so loud that I couldn’t even sleep. Imagine at 6am when you have guests who are sleeping not far from the dining area? When you have work the next day 💔

1. Paid R1000 extra for a special message in room(50th wedding aniversary), nothing was done. 2. R80 for roomservice that wasn't ordered, is that to turn down the beds???? Which is standard at all facilities. 3. Dinner was charged at R600pp, definitely NOT value for money.

The wifi was not working, accordingly I could not work during my stay there. The staff was aware of it and informed me of the reason of the problem. The airconditioner was also not functioning in one of the rooms that we occupied.

Beautiful hotel. Chef was amazing. Our room was gorgeous. Enjoyed sunning ourselves on our terrace. This was actually our second time staying.

Hot water dsnt last long enough to take a bath

Our room was very spacious and the bed super comfortable. They stocked the fridge and we had fresh fruit in the room which was a lovely added bonus. The views are incredible!

The dinner option was a fixed menu and it did not quite meet with our expectation for the price of the meal. The wine was very over priced and targeted to the International market.

Beautiful, luxurious, clean and excellent service

Beautiful tuscan theme is to die for and consistent througout. The staff welcomed us warmly and were an absolute delight! What a beautiful stay and amazing experience. We'll be back with the whole family soon!

We were offered a complimentary upgrade to the Presidential Suite because of a private function being held. This was a nice surprise. The room was stunning, very spacious with well appointed furniture and decor and a lovely view.

When we checked in we were told there is a private function in the restaurant and we would HAVE to have our dinner in our room. The room service for dinner was disappointing. I felt as though the food was just dumped on the table by the staff member. She brought ALL the courses at once and put them on the round table and then just left. I had to find chairs to place around the table. There was no table cloth placed on the table and we were not offered any drinks to accompany our meal. This room service is of a poor standard. (and a room service charge was added to the bill automatically, even though we DIDNOT request room service but were told we would HAVE to have it in order to have dinner). We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were expecting a nice romantic dinner which is why we booked this restaurant for dinner. We did not experience a nice ambience. However the food prepared by the chef was of a high quality and was able to cater for my wife's dietary needs. The staff needs to be trained in hospitality: talk to guests about their experience, how was the night? How was your stay? How was your meal. All this sort of caring will go a long way.
