No good
Very nice view
I do not recommend staying here. Dead bugs in bathroom, cold water if other room uses water, broken sliding door, no appointed parking, unclean room. No spare plugs for charging personal items.
Need new pillows, blue bins for recycling, dispensers for shampoo and conditioner empty, freezer door broken off in fridge Plug in in bathroom didn’t work Overall a bit tired with carpets and furniture Some reno and maintenance would go a long way. Lovely location , helpful staff
Balcony door did not lock . Room was not secure . Bathroom door did not close properly. Parking was terrible. Came in later at night and had to park on the road and walk.
Lowest cost in the area for an overnight stay at the last minute.
Good view in the morning
Our room had so many bugs we were pretty much killing bugs the entire weekend. We couldn’t enjoy the balcony because there would be a lot of bugs and the furniture was really worn down. The balcony floor was covered with a dirty carpet.
Light bulbs burned out and not replaced, had to take one out of bathroom to put in lamp in cabin ,not very friendly staff had to ask the cleaner 3 times for clean towels so we could take a shower after coming back from hot springs, patio door could use a new one and track for door full of dirt and bugs ,never stay there again
Cabin stay good. We did not shop. Just spent day with friends.
Very clean. Great view! Lovely town!
No A/C , doors need repair , needs a up date !
Beautiful views and the room was clean, but the property is looking a little tired and in need of some renovations. Ok stay but rates a little expensive for what you get.
Good
The only thing good about this hotel is the view.
Everything was great, except the coffee in the room was not adequate.
Needs renovation.
The view from the balcony is beautiful. However, rest all are terrible including bed, facilities, front desk. I highly recommend to look for other better option.
If you’re looking for an authentic wilderness survival experience without leaving the comfort of a motel bed, this is the place for you. Both beds came pre-seasoned with mystery hairs and questionable stains. The pillows were a lovely shade of “used mascara and questionable yellow splotches” and my request for extras was completely ignored.. which in hindsight was probably a blessing. Bugs were included free of charge, and not the small, ignorable kind either. The bathroom? The door didn’t close, the tub had more mold than grout, and we were greeted by someone else’s half-used toiletries in the drawers (thanks, previous guest, for your generous donation). The freezer was frozen on the outside, and the bathroom ceiling joined the tub in a moldy duet. The balcony offered a gorgeous mountain view… until the MASSIVE spiders made it clear they had the best claim to it. This place could honestly be something special. the location is beautiful. But until Rocky Mountain Spring Lodge invests in bleach, bug control, and maybe a bonfire for their current bedding, I’d recommend admiring the scenery from literally anywhere else.
Friendly staff
Not As Advertised – A Disappointing Stay Our experience at the Rocky Mountain Spring Lodge did not align with the ratings or descriptions we found online. The property is significantly older and more run-down than photos or reviews on sites like Expedia had led us to believe. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our room left a lot to be desired. We found bugs on one of the beds and in the bathroom, a towel had visible makeup stains, and there was leftover food in the freeze, raising serious concerns about the overall hygiene of the space. The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows were poor quality. Basic amenities were lacking as well; there were no proper cups for coffee or other beverage; only small paper water cups. There were not standard toiletries either. Outside the room, the property also seemed neglected. A recycling bin near the entrance appeared to double as a general dumping area, and at one point it was either tipped over or rummaged through, leaving trash scattered all over the walkway. The advertised on-site dining. The website and third-party listings mentioned a lounge and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In reality, the only option available was a Hot Pot restaurant open from 5–9 PM. This should be clearly stated on all booking platforms, as we were expecting a standard restaurant with more familiar offerings. Overall, we felt misled by the online representation of the property. For the price we paid, the experience was disappointing.
Room, bed linens and towels are clean. Patio door lock was damaged and not repaired during our stay. However, it was a long weekend and the hotel may have been short-staffed. Hot water for shower is in short supply - after a few minutes, it suddenly turns ice cold. Few amenities but they work. Great view from the balcony.
Good view
Photos and website was misleading.
Nice views
This place has so many bugs in the room and the bathroom was dirty and had no soap in dispensers. The one positive was the water pressure in the shower, too bad the shower head was at 4’8”.
To start… paid extra for the “mountain view room” When checking in was informed by front attendant that every room has a mountain view, complete scam. Secondly, get to room, door barely shuts, door to balcony doesn’t lock, window do not lock, screen door to balcony fell out just attempting to open it. Blankets provided date back to the opening of the lodge in the 60’s/70’s (not an exaggeration) to top all that previous guests garbage still left on floor. We questioned if it had been cleaned at all… Main lodge where you check in smells strongly of mold. Extremely over priced at $186 for the night. Went to go have continental breakfast that was supposed included, there is no breakfast. BOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!
Old decor and mold in bathroom
Thank you. Everything was good.
It was fine for a night. Some beetles in the bathroom, but expected in an old building. Beds were comfy. The rooms have been renovated, but the entire building could use a complete overhaul.
The floors were dirty. We had a queen and 2 single beds. One bed squeaked. The screen to balcony was broken
The view was amazing, but that’s all I have to say!
Used as a stopover whilst travelling to Banff from Vancouver. Decent motel, clean and welcoming. Bear in mind the management has recently changed and so does the name of the motel. Would stay here again.
The only good thing about the hotel is its view, very nice. The hotel is very old and a little dirty. There was no soap or conditioner, the shower very old. There is a restaurant in the basement, but the only option they give us is to pay $35 for Asian buffet. I think it is too expensive.
We enjoyed our stay and felt it had a nice view.
Staff were great and the restaurant has some meals and Bubble Tea. The views from the room had an amazing view, Something that you don’t get to see everyday that you wake up. Beds were clean and comfy. Bathroom was clean and had loaded with toiletries, towels. Hot water works great. Appliances were quite old but was fully functional. Parking was limited yet only for the guests. Surrounding had bunch of good dining options and some convenience stores.
The place wasn't kept up. The tub had lots of hair coming out of the drain. There was no one at the counter when we were checking out. Overall for the price it was not worth it. The view was nice.
Very good
It’s old property, they should have kept at least common fire pit to enjoy camp fire
The place feels and looks sketchy. There was black mold around the tub caulking, the toilet kept running, and the room smelled musty. The patio door didn’t lock onto the balcony and the main door to the room had a key lock only. I felt like someone could just kick the door down if they wanted to get in.
At first glance of the building, it looked like a very old motel.. so i was not sure if the rooms was renovated or not. When i entered the room, the smell was like an old wood and the floor was uneven. It was renovated recently though. But you can really tell that it was an old lodge. The bathroom is not clean. The toilet seemed like clogged when you flush it. You need to flush it 2x. It was not worth paying $200+ for this hotel. They did not even serve breakfast. They have a drop box for the key when you check out early. The great thing about this hotel is the perfect view when you look out the balcony. Its breathtaking. The staff are really nice too. Although it seemed like a one man show. They also have a good restaurant that serves all you can eat hotpot. They also have a bubble tea which was so yummy. I would come back for the restaurant but not to stay the night.
Came in late. Room not ready. Was given uppgrade according to staff but to me the room did not appear to be an upgrade. Initial rm had mountain view. Upgraded room poor veiw, obstructed by trees. Sofa bed was terrible. The mattress worn out. Could feel the springs. Restless sleep. Had to put the sheets on as it was not prepared. Pillows should be thrown out.
Its an excellent accomodation.
nice view
View is amazing!
Shower curtain so stinky, bathroom door is bad, main door don't have a bolt lock, bugs on bathroom floor, screen door for the deck is broken, curtain cannot be closed unless you step on the chair to fix it. Have to ask for 2 more towels when they know there's 4 people staying in the room. Reception has to be phoned everytime you need something, no one stays in there.
We were expecting a room in the main section of the hotel and instead were located in a motel adjacent
Terrible property. Overgrown with weeds. Very old building. Balcony and walkway looked ready to fall off. Coffee cups were cheap plastic small cups. Can’t imagine this property listed on Expedia. Sorry I didn’t read reviews before booking. Other guests were complaining at checkin desk there were orange and blue hairs in their bed !!
This hotel could use an upgrade, very dated. Room was clean, but the facility is very old.
Patio screen does not close, handle on patio door broken. Low water pressure. Smells stale and musty. Flooring has been upgraded to vinyl that was a plus.
The exterior building, the Chalet, is falling apart, need badly a renovation. Interior rooms have a laminated floor and walls are painted however dirty areas and bad smells shows a poorly cleaning job. Bathtub sink clogged. Door locks are cheap, not very safe and not properly adjusted. People talking can be heard from next rooms, so no sound barrier for sure. $300/night, I wont come back.
The hotel was nice enough, great view. Wasn’t the cleanest as there was months of built up dust behind the toilet. View was spectacular. What ruined it for me was the hotel changed computer services, and I ended up being double charged for my bookings. The hotel staff weren’t helpful, and simply said it was the computer’s fault, and told me to call the rcmp and lock my credit card. Which wasn’t helpful when I had already paid for my stays before staying, and was charged when I checked in. It seemed really sketchy, and I feel thankful I kept my receipts so I can go resolve this issue with my bank. If you book with this place, check your statements, do not pre pay for your stay, or honestly save yourself the headache and don’t stay here at all.
This property is dirty and smells god awful . Asked for a blanket to sleep on the couch , was given a bleach stained blanket . Dirt behind furniture was moved in order to plug stuff in . I couldn’t get out of there fast enough , checked out by 7am
The room had a great view as advertised. Large room, had a separate living area to bedroom. Definitely not sound proof rooms or updated. Everything electrical was run off extension cords, could only have one appliance plugged in at a time (fridge, microwave or coffee pot). I would question the road to the hotel in the winter, basically one way traffic, but very quiet and secluded. Felt very safe, even though windows didn’t lock. No one cleaned during our stay which I was okay with but had to go request extra condiments for our coffee and toilet paper for our room.
The views are excellent
Unfortunately, a beautiful hotel turned out to be a horrible stay. I was charged for this stay before arriving to the hotel, and then charged again once I checked in because their “computer system changed” I did not receive a refund for my original booking although having proof. I was told I would automatically receive a refund, which I did not. The management was also extremely unhelpful… saying to lock my credit card or call the RCMP. This is unbelievable and I’m now attempting to deal with this through hotels.com as well as my bank because they chose to double charge me almost $1000.
This is an older property which could use some modern renovations. Having said that, it is everything you need with a decent bed, shower and tub. I appreciate having a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A huge plus is the balcony with an exceptional view of the valley and distant mountains, and being 5 minutes away from the hot springs, I highly recommend starting your day with a plunge when it’s uncrowded.
What they advertised didn't look like when we walked in..updated, AC was so loud..i was afraid to step on patio and i started to get itching while in there..we didn't even sit down and i was leaving..then they offered and another room in newer building..it was better but noisey AC..said no animals in room before or smoked in but i found a dog wayer dish under sink after my husband's eyes got itchy..for what we paid..it wasn't worth it at all..we will never stay there again.
I’ve stayed in many places over the years, but this one stands out as one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. It was dirty, old, comfortable, noisy, and seemed to have no service. We paid through Hotels.com, only to be informed that there was a $20 pet fee, which was not mentioned on the website. There was no screen on the balcony door, so we had to use the old, noisy air conditioner. The microwave, bathroom, and air conditioner were all dirty. The bed was uncomfortable. There was no screen on the balcony, so instead of leaving our balcony door open with screen to get cool fresh mountain air. We had to use the old noise air conditioner. When we dropped off our key, there was no one at the desk, so we couldn’t talk to anyone. The battery on the remote was almost dead. We got two towels and face clothes that seemed to be something you find at a garage sale. No tissues in the tissue box. I’ve never written a review before, but I feel like I have to because of the price of this place. The standards should be significantly higher.
There's no deadbolt on the room door and the balcony door and screen were damaged making it impossible to lock the sliding door to the balcony. Those are my major objections to the ppace. Overall, a decent, night's stay. The room was huge but the way it was layed out was backwards in my mind. The living area was at the far side so if you have guests they need to pass through the sleeping area. The balcony had a great view. The two chairs were comfortable enough. The AC is a standard window unit. There's nothing within walking distance except the hot pot restaurant on site.
View was nice. Curtain was not hung up properly. Screen door is hanging off the track. The sliding door is hard open. Toilet was not clean or flushed from previous guest.
Beautiful
Yue, the lady working called me to make arrangements for my late check in before she closed. Very helpful, very nice staff.
Stairs are steep and narrow step- kind of treacherous. Otherwise beautiful views and great stay. No breakfast as marketed on trip adviser.
Upon my late arrival, I encountered some difficulties with my network connection. However, the staff kindly waited for me until after midnight. The lady who assisted me with check-in was exceptionally pleasant and welcoming. I experienced a moment of confusion regarding the two adjacent buildings, as I was unsure which one housed my reservation. Nevertheless, the room was delightful, boasting cleanliness, ample space, and a scenic mountain view. My only suggestion would be to consider providing glass or ceramic mugs for coffee instead of plastic cups.
They will charge you for your room twice and if you try to get your money back from them they will say it is your problem not there’s and keep your money
Very uncomfortable bed and air-conditioning wasn't working fine. Bathroom door wasn’t locking … it was all dusty chairs at balcony
Confusing signage. Bathroom tub/shower was quite dirty. Gorgeous views from the balcony
cool
Absolutely perfect. Great location, the motel was very cute and wood panelled and the hospitality was great! The woman working the front counter was so helpful and kind. It felt like we stayed at a family cottage. We had a lovely stay.
The view was the only good thing about this property. The building appears to be leaning down the hill as this is evident by just looking at the front entrance. We were booked to stay in the Motel Bo building and after walking through our room and looking at the building we decided to talk to the young man at the desk which was in the Chalet property next door. He told me we could not be refunded our money, but he did make an effort to put us in a room at the Radium Chalet which is next door to the Motel Bo. For that effort I gave the staff a good review. Turns out the Radium Chalet was in worse condition though. Very dirty and run down. This property needs some serious repair, and I hope the young man at the desk gets help as he will soon be overwhelmed with work.
nice view!
Views were awesome from room, but service was not upto make
The place was clean but very old and getting run down. The staff was great. No blankets or sheets for the sofa bed. Had to flush the toilet two or three times to get it clean. It There’s no denying they he the best view of Radium by far.
We really enjoyed our stay here! It was clean, and the view from our room was amazing! Friendly helpful staff.
Nice view, quiet and safe.
The stay was great, expect for one thing! We were able to check in early which we really appreciated, the staff was nice and accommodating, the view from the room was absolutely amazing. The room itself is a bit older, but that's been the same as all the motels I've stayed at in radium so far. The only issue would be the bed isn't very comfortable. I hope they get new ones. Also I thought breakfast was included, but it was not.
View is peaceful
Amazing view, love the belcony. We got in late the front desk was able to help us check in even after the lobby closed thank you so much. Cute retro themed rooms the classic wood panneling in the room made it feel like i was kid again going to my familys cabin. Great expirence will definitely stay here again.
Old
Amazing place
Old, not well maintained! No amenities or facilities!
Ok
Great view good vaĺue
Amazing views on your own balcony. It is very old, so the shower is for 5ft and under and the mattress is a rock. But other than that it was wonderful. Your own mini fridge/microwave and tv. Couch was comfy. But nothing matters more than being up high enjoying the view! Front desk was interesting.. and no room service (2 night stay) which was nice privacy wise. Horsetheif bar had the best food on our trip!
Sketchy check in. Felt like I was being scammed
We have stayed here in the past. The first time we stayed, there was hot breakfast (pancakes, hashbrown patties and i think eggs and bacon?)included in the lobby, the next 2 times there was cold breakfast(yogurt, fruit, muffins, juice etc)available to take back to your room. This time there was only coffee and only on the 2nd morning. That part was a let down but the overall cost for a pet friendly room was still quite good.
Comfortable stay. Amazing view!
Exce
Good view. Outdated room decor. Lack of amenities.
very dated extencords everywhere, wall suoer thin can her other guets, dhower crtain liner was dirty with pink mold, i do not recomend,
When i checked in my kids were at Radium hotspring enjoying so i just wanted to check in and once kids and wife call me to pick them up i wanted everything settled. I saw a spider on our bed i taught its mountain and jungle so a spider got in some how but in the morning while we were about check out my son saw 1 on ceiling and 1 on the night table so there so scared and horrific
I would stay here again. However, it is a very old motel, not a hotel. the view was great.
I was told there was cable, but it probably wouldn't work in our room. Indeed, the TV did not receive signal. Wifi was weak. Under the bed were dust balls and food remnants. The bathrrom baseboards and door were very dirty. The sink had troubles draining and needed to be unplugged. The curtain was coming off the rod and the room smelled bad. Both duvets had little blood stains.
The property was adequate at best. Not as the property was advertised. And certainly not worth the price advertised. Staff checked us in with auto pilot responses. Efficient but not friendly. The accommodation was surface clean at best. Dirty mugs and dead flies found. This place is in definite need of some repairs and updating. Windows and sliding glass door was not able to lock. Walls were paper thin and you could hear everything from guests around you. The bed was a very poor quality and very lumpy. The view was the highlight due to location, but I would not return as a guest or recommend it.
The location of the property is excellent! Up high and able to see the town from the balcony. Affordable prices & dog friendly also.
Would not refund for a night not used. No one at front desk. Old rooms.
Stayed their briefly
Room is very clean. “Room with majestic view!” Ad said it right! I enjoyed the fresh air.
The room was clean enough. Unfortunate that the restaurant was unable to ensure any gluten -free options.
