The Inn at Thorn Hill

Pour un hôtel dont le nom indique "SPA", cette partie est très décevante : pas de piscine, hammam ou jacuzzi. Un simple sauna qui ferme tôt. En outre, le petit-déjeuner - même s'il est bon - est assez réduit : vous pouvez choisir un seul plat et une seule boisson sur une carte (exemple : des pancakes).

Just an amazing hotel

This may have been the nicest place I have ever stayed in the United States. It was extremely well appointed, everyone was extremely friendly, the attached restaurant was Michelen rated and the dinner, salmon topped with crab cakes, was to die for. The breakfast the next morning was the best breakfast I have ever had at a motel/hotel. Everything was cooked perfectly. The room was spacious, the bath facilites were spotless, the bed was one of the more comfortable I have ever experienced. The price through Booking.com was very reasonable for its proximity to Mt. Washington. Cannot say enough good things bout the Inn at Thorn Hill...a must stay place if visiting the area!

The window A/C unit was apparently recently added and you could not completly colese the drapes with the A/C on.

L’accoglienza è stata eccellente, con un piacevole benvenuto a base di prosecco. Le camere sono arredate con grande gusto e alcune dispongono anche di una piccola spa in bagno, davvero un plus molto apprezzato. Ottima anche la colazione. Consigliamo assolutamente di provare il ristorante la sera: cucina davvero eccellente e perfetta per completare l’esperienza.

Wonderful! Everything was very clean and well organized. The staff were incredibly friendly and always greeted us with a smile. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. The food was delicious, the breakfast was amazing, and the service was outstanding—definitely a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend this place and would love to come back

We loved this inn. The room and bed were spacious and comfy, great view. The bathroom is huge and the jacuzzi tub was fantastic. Everything was clean and lovely. Nancy, the innkeeper, introduced herself at check in and was there to handle everything for us. The restaurant was great, in fact, because we were there on the 4th of July, they wrote to us and suggested that we reserve a table for dinner so that we could sit on the patio and watch the fireworks and it was amazing. Perfect view for the fireworks, the wine was great and the food was pretty good too. We had breakfast there as well and both the food and the service were fantastic. This inn definitely deserves more than 3 stars.

A touch too much lemon in the Basque cheesecake? Honestly, we had a fantastic stay.

Quiet, serene location overlooking the Predidential Range of the White Mountains and convenient to numerous recreational opportunities as well as Jackson and North Conway attractions. Greeted warmly for our second stay, just as we remembered from our first stay a year ago: consistency! Inviting common areas with chioce of indoors with fireplace or broad, comfortably furnished outdoor porch. Delicious breakfast food beautifully prepared and delivered entusiastically by a well-oiled team, the members of which clearly enjoy one another and what they do.

Have to admit, it was a really nice stay. Big, clean, comfortable beds, and oh man.. what a bathtub. The view wasn't astounding, but that did not matter as the room was just what we were after really. Good size too. Nice staff, helpful. Free parking across the road. The Inn was nicely situated in the forest near the small town of Jackson. Tee and cookies free downstairs. Oh and the included breakfast, (eggs bennie) was puuuuuurfect. Yea, lovely place.

I guess it could have a better view from the windows, but it didn't really bother us, as we were just so comfy in the room, we hardly looked out!

The room was very comfortable and well-appointed, with a beautiful view of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting on the spacious porch looking at the mountains. We ate dinner one night, and the food was excellent.

It’s a beautiful setting, the staff was excellent, rooms were impeccable. In addition the porch in the morning watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee, reading and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening with the sun setting. The room was excellent, the king bed was very comfortable, there was gas fireplace but it wasn’t used since our visit was in the summer. There was an a/c which kept the room cool at night. The room had sitting area and the bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower and double sink. Our room had view of the southern presidential mountains with part mount Washington. Perfect!

What a lovely inn! Staff was great and very accommodating. Room was beyond lovely with huge soaker tub in bathroom. King Bed was very comfortable and linens were luxurious. Had very delicious supper there and breakfast in the morning was great.

Continuing what has become an annual tradition of celebrating our wedding anniversary at Thorn Hill truly feels like coming home after a long journey. Walking up the porch steps and through the front door brings an immediate sense of calm, familiarity, and comfort. Having returned so many times, it almost goes without saying that the rooms are always immaculate and inviting (a special shout-out to housekeeping superhero Sharonette), the setting is idyllic, the views are beautiful, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the food is consistently delicious. Above all else, however, it is the warmth and genuine hospitality of the staff that make Thorn Hill so special. Smiles and kindness can be found around every corner—from the breakfast staff (Nicklaus, Bella), to the evening servers, to the team members you pass in the halls. A special mention goes to Carissa, a recent addition to the dining room, who is already proving to be a tremendous asset to the property. We cannot express how much we look forward to seeing so many familiar faces each time we visit. Several team members have left a lasting impression on our experiences over the years: Sherri, James, Amy, and Nancy have all helped define what Thorn Hill means to us, and we are deeply grateful for each of them. They are truly irreplaceable parts of the Thorn Hill experience. Over the years, each of them has come to feel more like a longtime friend than simply a member of the staff, and seeing them again is something we genuinely look forward to every time we return. We are already checking our calendars for the rest of the year to find the next opportunity to return. Thank you all for making every stay so memorable.

Herrliche Lage mitten im Grünen. Edles Hotel. Da in unserem gebuchten Zimmer der Kamin nicht funktionierte, bekamen wir ein Upgrade in die Suite. Das war sehr freundlich! Frühstück war von der Karte wählbar und sehr lecker!

Ein schönes altes Haus, das anscheinend Traditionen lebt. Ein sehr gutes Restaurant.

Das Haus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Türen schließt nicht überall richtig, unser Zimmer war nach hinten raus, dort war der Blick nicht so schön und Belästigung durch Lärm von Maschinen.

The Inn at Thorn Hill was an absolute delight. It was a perfect central location for a few days of exploring the region on our motorcycle. The room was comfortable, well-appointed and had a stunning view. The Inn itself is warm, cozy and filled with places to settle in with a book. Breakfast and dinner were great with a nice selection and deliciously prepared food, including a stellar wine list. What really pushes The Inn over the top is the outstanding service people who somehow are attentive, warm, knowledgable, but never intrusive. Shout out to Carissa for being the best waitress for our two nights at Thorn Hill and to Bella our awesome breakfast waitress. We will be returning!

The location was beautiful with views to the mountains. Immediately the housekeeper’s welcome was warm and friendly. A little prosecco on arrival just sweet. All the staff were so happy and friendly and had a great sense of humour which we loved! I asked Nicole if we had to pay extra for her entertainment! She was attentive and super fun. We had a delicious meal. The food really is first rate here and we sent compliments to the chef. Our breakfast servers were also excellent and happy to have a chat and a joke. Delightful young people. We could not have been made to feel more at home. This place is charming, elegant and homely. We will definitely come here again and would make a detour to do so. The little chocolate truffles in the room were a nice surprise. Housekeeping is great. Spotlessly clean. Keep doing what you are doing. The best place we have stayed in our entire trip! ♥️

This hotel is pure class. From arrival the staff were very welcoming and absolutely delightful. We had a fabulous stay. The food was excellent. Service impeccable. Bed extremely comfortable and lovely and quiet. Lovely to have a large jaccuzi bath in addition to the shower.

Stayed for two nights in May in Mt Adams room. Good size, well fitted and large bathroom. Facilities include a well stocked bar and lounge, breakfast and dinner in the dining room or on the porch afternoon tea abd cookies, and free car parking. The Inn has a lovely ambience and friendly staff. A warm welcome at reception with a glass of Prosecco from Innkeeper Nancy. Well placed for all local attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our favourite hotel of the trip. If we lived closer we would very regular guests!

The staff were friendly and really helpful, the food was excellent, breakfast was great. Our room was really comfy and ideal for couples. Location brilliant. Quote of the stay from Amy - when I asked if we might see bears she said probably not as they are just waking up but I wouldn't leave food in your car!". The hotel was the best I've stayed in in the US and I've travelled a lot on work trips there. This one was a holiday with my son and he loved it too. I'll be back, with my wife time.

Only that the bears were not awake. The hotel was pretty much faultless.

Another great visit to Thorn Hill . From check in to departure everything was top notch . The Inn at Thorn Hill is my happy place. I have stayed there several times, and I now know that whatever stress I have at the time will be disappearing as I drive up the road and see the wonderful wrap around parch. Thank you to Sherri as director of Food, Beverage, and Housekeeping for making all those areas ready for the guests to enjoy. Even if it is a cold or rainy day that may keep one inside rather than on the porch, the lounge and the library have a back to back fireplace to keep you feeling warm as you enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Thank you to James the bartender for his friendliness and knowledge. It seems he is always experimenting and inventing a great new cocktail. Thank you to the servers in the restaurant, Forty at Thorn Hill. Nicole, Niklaus, Dave, and Pam made sure guests feel welcomed and cared for. Every guest room at The Inn is different and special, making each time I stay there a different experience. At this time I have not met any of the housekeeping staff as they seem to be invisible, but I can see every time I am there that they are doing top-notch work as everything is very clean and nicely presented. Shouldn't we all have a happy spot where we can relax and just be pampered? It's here at The Inn at Thorn Hill.

This was my third trip to The Inn at Thorn Hill, so obviously I'm a fan of the Inn. The location is pretty--nice views of the mountains, a quiet road. The huge wrap-around porch is one of the best features, providing a peaceful and low-key atmosphere for chatting, having a drink, etc. My room (Mt. Adams) was comfortable, spotless, and quiet. The bed was relatively firm, the way I like it, and had the perfect assortment of sheets and blankets. I paid a little less than I would have without a lot of prior planning--but even had I paid full-price, the value would have been solidly there. Lots of good coffee, available early in the morning, also made me feel pampered. The restaurant is not inexpensive...but unlike some other pricier places I've eaten, the quality is all there. Had an absolutely mouthwatering filet mignon, with wine and asparagus and potatoes. The server (it was Pam this time) was pleasant and helpful, and we felt completely at ease and could have stayed for even more hours than the hours we spent. René is an unassuming and excellent chef. Niklaus was our host and also our breakfast waiter, and he was professional and personable as always, as was Dave. And then there's the rest of the gang--Bella, who was new to me but delightful; Sherry, Amy, Nancy (all helpful and all great fun) were around during our two-night stay. James, the bartender, and Nicole also greeted us and served us. It always feels as though the staff sincerely ENJOYS the attempt to make our stay memorable, and the attention to detail is noticeable and appreciated. I've never written a review for TripAdvisor before, but it's a no-brainer that I'd write one for The Inn at Thorn Hill. I can't imagine that they even NEED a good review--they must have scores of them. But it's the least I can do to let them all know how much I enjoyed my last visit. Looking forward to next time!

Great experience first time stay. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed from check-in to check out. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and had some good amenities, maybe would suggest a in room coffee maker K cup. Thier coffee downstairs was easy to get and very good. Would like to specifically recognize some staff, Nancy check-in, Ed bar tender and dine in service Nick, Bella, Jessica, this applies to all the staff if names were not mentioned.

Dinner waitress didn't mention 'special' right away which led to some confusion. Also wanted to purchase coffee mug used in dining room but had different ones for sale at $28 which feels overpriced.

This is a very nice mid range to upscale inn. Staff is great and the rooms are very nice. I would fit this in my top tier of places where I have stayed. Upscale but not stuffy. It can be a value depending on the time you book and by that I mean with respect to the on season price. We took the Inn to Inn Cookie tour in December and of the 11 Inns we visited this was by far and away the nicest. The views are breathtaking and it is probably one of the nicest places to stay in the Conway area which in my opinion can be on par with places like Hampton. It is much nicer than Eastern Slope and some of the others. My only criticism are the tiles in the hallway. They look stained and plastic-y. I know the inn was recently bought and that they are renovating the spa so hopefully this is a work in progress. We reserved for two more stays at different times of the year.

We escaped to the beautiful White Mountains for a snowy retreat at The Inn at Thorn hill and loved it. A quiet town with lots of nearby restaurants and pubs . No kids at the inn or tv in the lobby - just cozy fires, board games and conversation. The rooms are a little dated but the bed was extremely comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was a treat. Had one dinner which was excellent and two included breakfasts - sumptuous. Can’t say enough about the friendly staff - especially Amy at the front desk and Ed the bartender! Great break!

My husband and I spent two nights at Thornhill. Luke warm water in our shower, very outdated TV system. Old carpet and furniture. My husband actually had an allergic reaction to all the dust!!! They need to get with the times. We look forward to our getaways and honestly for the money we paid this was not worth it all!!

We had reservations at the Inn the day the “big” storm was to hit. We live in NJ and decided we should get a head start up to New Hampshire. We called to see if we could add an additional night to our reservation in the same room and Amy couldn’t have been more accommodating. We were all set! What an incredible week we had. Our room was spectacular, especially looking out the numerous windows watching the snow come down and then the gorgeous mountain views all with our fireplace blazing. The food was exceptional both for breakfasts, dinner, drinks, and burgers in the lounge. Joseph is an amazing mixologist! The dining staff were so personable and efficient. Kudos to Lily and Nicholas for keeping us fed. The housekeeping staff gets an A+ for cleanliness. Nothing was out of place and everything sparkled. One of the ladies overheard me say that there were no more cookies (cookies, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were available for afternoon snacks) and next thing I know she went into the kitchen and presented me with two delicious chocolate chip cookies. That is service! Nancy, Amy, and Liam at the front desk couldn’t have done more for us. We had some great conversations with them. What wonderful memories we left with. We can’t wait to get back to the Inn at Thorne Hill in the lovely town of Jackson. The Inn itself has an extremely interesting history…definitely check it out!

My husband and I stayed one night in mid Jan 2026 in cottage 525. It was my holiday gift to him. It’s a cute cottage just behind the Inn. Staff were awesome, breakfast was delicious. My main complaint is that the cottage isn’t weatherized for the cold of winter. The heater and electric fireplace were nice but absolutely not sufficient to heat the cottage. The floors were sooo cold (we always had to wear slippers- good thing we brought ours!) and the bathroom was like a freezer. There wasn’t even enough hot water to take a full bath in the nice spa tub. I would recommend this cottage/Inn during April-Oct, otherwise I really don’t think the Inn should have guests stay there unless they make changes to the heating/hot water supply.
