Whitneys Inn at Black Mountain

Beautiful drive up to the Inn. Pretty secluded and quiet, exactly what I’d hoped for. Love that it’s was pretty close to the WM forest, and not far from great restaurants as well. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the pub was relaxed with delicious food and drink.

Lighting in the room was dark in one corner, and the A/C a little louder than I typically experience. Really nothing too bad though.

They lied and said they have 2 pools which they did not and the one was so cold I couldn’t use it. The hot tub was so filthy. The room was so small- it looked so much bigger in the picture- we couldn’t even turn around. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom. Also left out of the picture. Creaky narrow stairs everywhere. Very narrow hallway.

The room was fine. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but it would have been convenient if I had needed it. It was quiet, despite hosting a large wedding the same night I was there. For me, the location was perfect.

The breakfast was just continental, and sufficient but not something I would look forward to. The room was fine, but I had some trouble with the bathroom door in the middle of the night, which ended up making me go downstairs to use the toilet at 3AM. The problem was a fixture that could be placed at the wrong spot. While this is possible to sort out in the day, it was more challenging in the dark and in the night-time.

Priced was fare for the type of room!! Staff was very helpful & nice!! Loved the ability to sit outside at various places to have our breakfast & wine at night! Plus inside, comfy chairs to read by! Used to live & work in Jackson & loved the location of Whitney's for taking long walks etc

There needed to be a night lite in bathroom to be safe getting up in the dark & finding bathroom!!

Location was perfect. Mountain view was nice.

Walls are thin so a crying baby woke us several times. Bathroom was very small.

Property is great. Lots to do on property and close by lots of surrounding activities. The staff are wonderful and friendly.

Best is absolutely awful. By far the most uncomfortable bed we've stayed in. We visit the area often for overnights.

Maybe not part of the Inn but Shovel's Hand restaurant is a bit pricy especially given it's the off season.

We loved absolutely everything about this Inn!! Staff was amazing, clean and comfortable rooms, several activities available. Great location!

The room, the staff, the location were all great.

It is not completely clear to me if an innkeeper stays on site overnight, however, the activities from Black Mountain end of season on Saturday night (which Whitneys does not control) had guests at Whitneys outside making a lot of noise until after midnight and then they carried it into the Inn. Granted the guests are adults and should have been more respectful, however, if there was someone on site to monitor and "enforce" the quiet hours, I believe sleeping would have been better.

The front desk lady couldn’t find my reservation and literally rolled over here eyes when I said I reserved on booking. She called her manager and said I booked from unknown website… I have used booking for more than 18yrs and this is the first time someone called it unknown website…

Overall, the day was good

We stayed in the external building and the ski resort next-door started playing music at the base of the mountain very loud loudly at 7:30 in the morning

Stayed 3 Nights In A Clean & Cozy 2 Bedroom 1 Bathroom Cottage With Ample Space For 4 People To Comfortably Stay. Cottage Had An Abundance Of Complimentary Coffee, Cups, Soaps, Shampoos, Towels, Etc. Small Fenced In Area Behind The Cottage With Chairs & A Round Firepit. Not Far From Conway / North Conway Which Offers Many Shopping & Dining Experiences. Beautiful Mountain Scenery. Friendly Locals & Tourists Alike. Clean Town With Lots Of Character. Was Able To Utilize Sister Property (About A Mile Away) Amenities Such As Indoor Pool / Hot Tub, & Gym, Etc. For No Additional Charge.

Other Than A Microwave & Coffee Maker, There Was No Option For Cooking Within The Cottage. Additionally, There Was No Sink Other Than The Bathroom Handwash Sink Which Is Located Just Outside The Bathroom. Most Of The Outlets In The Cottage Were 2 Prong Only, Though They Did Have Extension Cords / Power Strips Which Helped. There Is No Exhaust Fan In The Bathroom, Only A Small Window. Wifi Was Very Weak Inside The Cottage & At Times Would Drop Out Completely, But Was Fairly Strong At The Main Building. Complimentary Breakfast Offered In The Main Building's Lobby Was Only Blueberry Muffins / Nature Valley Granola Bars, Coffee, & Orange Juice. The Onsite Restaurant / Pub Is Only Open 5:00 - 10:00pm Wednesday - Saturday, So We Were Unable To Experience It.

Breakfast was grab and go. The muffin though pre-wrapped was good and the coffee excellent. A few more options would be nice and ceramic coffee cups/mugs even better! Now that we know that Black Mtn serves breakfast, we may opt for that next time we stay at Whitney’s. Great to be so close to Black Mtn and thoroughly enjoyed the Shovel Handle Pub!

We were above the kitchen, so we heard a lot of talking in the afternoon and we were concerned there was a party going on in the next room or below us. Once we knew the source, we felt that all would be well. There was still some noise when we go into bed around 9:00. We will request a different room next time we stay.

Love the new hot tubs and sauna. Sat in the hot tub as it snowed which was wonderful. Staff were all very responsive and helpful.

We had a great time at the property. We stayed in the two bedroom cottage. We were skiing Black Mountain and it was so convenient. The staff went above and beyond of our request. Thank you.

Staff went above the call for our stay. We were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed here 25 years ago when we decided to get married. Joe upgraded our room and made us feel welcome.

We are hikers and like to get an early start. The late breakfast time had us fending for ourselves. Luckily there was a coffee machine in the room.

The location and time of year for change of seasons was great.

Room was small, bathroom smaller. Heater didn’t work, problem with electrical. Had to use space heater, did the job eventually.

The bed was super high. Luckily my husband and I are tall. The air conditioner was extremely loud. I think it was probably on its way out.

Loved the bar being attached to the hotel! Music was very good and appropriate for a ski lodge.

Grab and go breakfast was underwhelming - granola bars and prepackaged muffins. Coffee cups were also very small. Menu in pub wasn’t great - very limited.

I had the petite room-- adequate but petite.

The property is in a great location and the Shovel Handle Pub had tons of character, great food and live music.

I’ve stayed at the Whitney Inn before but stayed on the main property, which is fantastic. The rooms are warm and cozy with a great mountain vibe. LOVED it. This trip we stayed in one of the cottages which I felt lacked in the charm and warmth of the main hotel. It was comfortable but just didn’t compare to staying in one of the rooms in the main hotel. Not bad but I’d much rather stay in one of the other rooms.

There is currently construction on the ski lifts so there are big machines taking up a lot of space and there is noise from the project they are working on. The noise starts at about 8am. I am not certain as to when it ends as we go exploring for the day and intentionally don't return until after dinner.

Nettes kleines Hotel mit sehr freundlichen Personal. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und sehr charmant eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer ist allerdings winzig. In die Ortschaft Jackson benötigt man ca. 2 Minuten mit dem Auto. Nebenan gibt es ein Pub. Parkplätze vorm Haus.

My husband and I stayed here a few years ago and remembered how much we liked it. We brought our grandkids here. We were pleasantly surprised that they were celebrating their 90th anniversary the day we showed up. We all enjoyed it. We stayed in the Cottage, and it was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Our tv wasn't working and we called, and they were there to fix it in 10 minutes. Definitely would recommend.

The property was fantastic, peaceful except when the mowing occured when we were sitting out enjoying the peace but it has rained alot so i know you mow when you can. Had some ants in the room when we arrived but we worked around them. Lol. Fantastic stay. Will stay again!!!

It was tiny rooms, especially the bathroom. The bed was uncomfortable and the fridge kept making a loud noise. Also the one restaurant on the property was closed, I guess it’s closed Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays

Wish they had a breakfast restaurant. They have coffee, orange juice and muffins to go, but no place for a sit down meal.

The Inn at Whitney's Farm offers a fantastic location with walking access to Black Mountain Ski area. The staff were friendly and helpful and provided a welcoming experience. There is an onsite restaurant/pub with live music and great food and drinks. Other options are also available in the area within a short distance. We will definitely be returning.

The atmosphere was great. The cabin was very nice and clean the front desk. People were very nice and friendly and helpful. I went with the large group so when we went to the dinner, it got all messed up. That’s my only downfall.

We always had fond memories of this place due to its location near multiple hiking/snowshoeing paths and cozy place. Our room was spacious especially when traveling with family. The restaurant had great food and convenient to get to during cold snowy days. Having hot cocoa and marshmallows was a nice little touch. Glad to see that not much had changed after not visiting for 5 years!

It would be helpful to have a microwave in the common area in case you want to warm up something (especially when traveling with a child). Since it was shoulder season the restaurant was not opened on Saturday which would have been nice. They used to have breakfast before at the hotel which was amazing, not anymore. :-(
